Recognizing the potential consequences should such a place fall into the hands of hostile Force-users, Sith practitioners, or other individuals seeking to exploit its power, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant established Ironspine Outpost as the primary military safeguard for both the temple and the sacred power concealed beneath it.

Its proximity allows Imperial forces to respond swiftly to unauthorized expeditions, archaeological intrusions, and potential attempts to corrupt or weaponize the nexus, while maintaining strict control over access to the surrounding ruins. Although the outpost retains its function as a lookout post against external threats, this secondary mission is ultimately subordinate to its true purpose, to ensure that the ancient Jedi Temple and the Force nexus beneath it remain protected from those who would seek to claim its power for their own ambitions.
