STRENGTHS

• Ambush: The Scrap Hound excels at ambushing it targets, thanks to its Sound-Baffling System and ability to move surprisingly quietly
• Melee specialist: Scrap Hounds are well equipped to engage in melee combat, coming equipped with paw mounted Stun Pads, Durasteel Claws, Retractable Blade Incisors and an ability to produce a "sonic" bark
• Steed: Scrap Hounds are just large enough to carry an adult human male on their back if necessary
• Storage: All Scrap Hounds come equipped with internal storage space for carry supplies or cargo
• Loyal: Each Scrap Hound is intensely loyal to its handler, and will prioritize their survival over its own, even if doing so leads to the droid's destruction

WEAKNESSES

• Large: Scrap Hounds are rather large targets for "hound" type droids, making them easy to hit in combat
• Melee specialist: Scrap Hounds do not come equipped with any sort of ranged weapons, and the range of their "sonic" bark is rather short
• Steed: Though it is possible to ride atop a Scrap Hound, staying on the droid can be difficult when moving at high speed
• Loyal: Should the Scrap Hound's handler become injured or killed, the droid may go into a frenzy trying to attack whoever dealt such damage to them
• Niche: Compared to other battle droids, Scrap Hounds are more specialized, which may not make them appropriate for most situations

DESCRIPTION

Though the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has access to a fairly large number of Junkbeasts and Corellian Hounds, there are simply not enough of the creatures to fulfill the needs of the Imperial Remnant. As such, work was begun on finding a "replacement" for the creatures, leading to the creation of the Scrap Hound droid.

Designed to fulfill the roles of the Junkbeast and Corellian Hound at the same time, the Scrap Hound is a rather impressive piece of Mahporeenian engineering. Large enough to carry a fully grown adult male into battle, the Scrap Hound is nonetheless quite capable of engaging in combat on its own, being armed with durasteel claws, retractable Blade Incisors, paw mounted Stun Pads and a Sonic "Bark" capable of shattering the eardrums of anything within close proximity to the droid itself. Besides its role in combat, the Scrap Hound is also well suited to finding missing people or items, thanks to its extensive array of sensors.

While a potent asset, the Scrap Hound does suffer from a lack of any sort of ranged weaponry, forcing the droid to close into melee distance when engaging in combat. While Scrap Hounds have been able to be produced at a fairly constant rate, they have yet to fully replace Junkbeasts and Corellian Hounds in Mahporeenian service, and often serve alongside the organic units that they were supposed to supplant in the very first place.
