  • Each vibroblade is linked to Olyssandra via a miniaturized comm link, allowing her to interface with them remotely. A neural link allows her to control their systems through thought. However, Olyssandra’s body movements are used to guide the blade mid-flight via an ultra-high-fidelity electromyographic (EMG) sensor array integrated into her suit that reads the electrical signals from the nerves and muscles in her arms, hands, legs, hips, chest, core, shoulders, back, and feet the instant her brain commands them to move. This neural intent is processed by a suit-integrated droid brain, which translates it into precise digital commands that are transmitted to the vibroblades to execute.

  • The Phasic Resonance Tuner is a system designed to find and exploit the inherent weakness of virtually any energy shield: its frequency. The system is a sophisticated sensor and emitter unit built into the vibroblade's hilt. The moment the blade comes near an energy shield, it performs a microsecond-long scan to analyze the shield's harmonic frequency. Once identified, it automatically adjusts the Ultrasonic Vibration Generator and the Class-D disruptor energy field to emit a counter-frequency that has a very high chance of forcing destructive interference. This counter-frequency is 180 degrees out of phase from the targeted shield’s harmonic rhythm.
  • The counter-frequency generates a localized phasic cancellation effect. As a result, the resonant blade has a very high chance of causing the energy shield's matrix to destabilize at the precise point of impact. In the process, the shield’s energy may be turned against itself, potentially creating a localized tear or a transient instability just wide enough for the vibroblade to potentially slip through and strike the target behind the shield.

STRENGTHS

• Swift Slaughter: Each vibroblade in the Midnight Harmony has a high-powered miniaturized repulsorlift engine that allows the blades to tear through the air at blistering velocities.
• Vampire: As a Psionic Channeling Medium and Emotion-Imprint Reactive material, the Bloodsteel in the Midnight Harmony can feed on the energy of the fear, pain, and hatred that the weapons cause. It can use this energy to sharpen and stabilize the monomolecular edge on a metaphysical level, making it more potent. Through this and more, the Midnight Harmony can quite literally be sustained on blood and trauma.
• Obsidian Blur: The Obsidian Voidshards integrated into each vibroblade renders them incredibly difficult to detect or counter via direct, external Force applications. In addition, the Voidshards generate a localized distortion field that interferes with Force-based tracking, precognition, and sensory abilities. When looking at one of the vibroblades, enemies may experience visual warping, false shadows, or misjudgments, making them extremely difficult to visually process. This blur effect may only be removed by ritually bonding with the weapons through the Dark Side, a process done only by Olyssandra.
• Resilience: The Obsidian Voidshard infused within each vibroblade weakens and resists external Force influence, making the weapons extremely difficult to manipulate telekinetically or via the Force by hostile Force-sensitives.In addition, each vibroblade has a gravitic stabilizer that allows it to resist tractor beams and repulsorlift jammers to an extreme degree.
• Rupture: Each vibroblade in the Midnight Harmony has a Phasic Resonance Tuner which can generate a localized phase cancellation effect that can disrupt energy shields at the point of impact. This system gives a strike an extremely high chance of slipping through energy shields, allowing Olyssandra to engage shielded targets with a credible expectation of success.
• Null Halo: A miniaturized sensor mask integrated into each vibroblade nullifies the sensor signature to effectively zero, minimizing the chances that the weapon is picked up by both technological and organic sensors. In addition, an anti-sonic silencer renders each weapon totally silent.
• Synergistic Slasher: Through the apocalyptic synergy of its monomolecular edge, ultrasonic vibration generator, and the Class-D disruptor field which sheathes the blade, each vibroblade in the Midnight Harmony is capable of cutting through virtually any known material with very little resistance. The monomolecular edge alone makes each vibroblade a nigh-peerless cutter, capable of slicing through conventional materials with ease. The addition of the ultrasonic vibration further escalates this through microscopic oscillation that turns the blade into a matter-disrupting nightmare, causing molecules to be torn apart from their neighbors. The Class-D disruptor field imparts the most powerful effect by annihilating the targeted matter at the atomic level. Combined, these features allow the vibroblade to readily slice through the hull of a starship or a Mandalorian clad in beskar.

WEAKNESSES

• Fried: The Midnight Harmony depends heavily on electronics for lethality and operational efficiency. EMP and Ion discharges of high enough intensity could compromise these systems or even disable the weapons entirely, rendering them as little more than dead weight.
• Exposure Window: The Midnight Harmony requires physical body movements to direct in-flight. These movements risk telegraphing an opponent. However, it is possible to lower the risk of telegraphing an opponent through refined technique and snap movements. Even so, ranged enemies may be able to exploit exposure windows during movements where the wielder may be vulnerable to return fire.
• Circumvented: While the Obisdian Voidshard infused into each vibroblade interferes with direct Force use, indirect applications of the Force (i.e. using the Force to generate bursts of pressurized air) are still effective in defending against them.
• Creeping Bloodlust: Prolonged use of the Midnight Harmony can drive the wielder to bloodlust, madness, and paranoia. The weapon demands a strong willpower from its wielder.
• Force Nullification: In a Force-dead zone (e.g., near ysalamiri), the Midnight Harmony becomes merely a very durable, high-tech sword, losing its Dark Side resonance and amplification. The technological systems, however, would still remain functional.

DESCRIPTION
Wielded by Olyssandra, newly inducted Kissai Priestess, the Midnight Harmony is a set of hyper-advanced repulsorlift vibroblades designed to be used in conjunction with a martial arts school found only within the Shikkari. The School of the Bloodsteel Symphony, whose disciples are commonly known as Blade Dancers, is one of the myriad combat schools within the Blades sub-sect. Through a combination of advanced technology and exquisite physical artistry, Blade Dancers command a number of floating blades that are remote-controlled through the wielder’s movements. In this, the Blade Dancer rarely wields her blades directly by hand, instead fighting primarily at a distance while her floating blades assail the target.

The vibroblades of the Midnight Harmony are designed to be used in the Blade Dancer style, though they can also be wielded by hand. They were created specifically for Olyssandra’s requirements. Thus, they are relatively small in size, fitting their small-statured wielder.

Of particular note, the Midnight Harmony is designed to offer extreme cutting performance. It archives this through a synergy in components that creates an escalating chain reaction of destruction. This begins with the Class-D disruptor field that envelops the blade as its first and outermost layer of contact. Upon touching a target, its nonharmonic energy pulses immediately begin exciting molecules, violently straining the atomic bonds that hold matter together. This initiates a fundamental destabilization, turning a solid surface into a hyper-excited and critically unstable plane on the verge of spontaneous disintegration. It is this field that makes the first "cut," by nullifying the target's atomic integrity.

Into this destabilized zone, the monomolecular Bloodsteel edge and its ultrasonic vibration generator deliver the coup de grâce. The blade plunges into a field of matter that has already been primed for atomic collapse. In this, the physical edge serves as a focus, concentrating the disruptor field's area effect into an infinitely fine line. Simultaneously, the ultrasonic vibrations deliver catastrophic kinetic shocks, providing the brutal physical impetus that violently shears the already-failing atomic bonds. The result is a synergy among the disruptor field softens the atomic fabric, and the vibrating edge carves through the emptiness left behind.

The Bloodsteel feeds on the ensuing terror and trauma to reinforce the blade. However, this feeding can also recoil back to the wielder—Olyssandra—in spite of the fact that she rarely wields the vibroblades by hand. This metaphysical process can trigger bloodlust, madness, or paranoia, demanding that she cultivate a strong, disciplined mind.

Nevertheless, the Midnight Harmony are soaring vibroblades of nigh-apocalyptic fury borne from the graceful movements of their balletic, bloodthirsty wielder. Even with the risk of madness to its wielder, the vibroblades are terrifying not only for their devastating power, but also for the terrible beauty with which they are deployed!
