14. Tef says cool we won't get involved, MFO room needs their space from Staff, but now there's like 30 discords.
I understand how we got here and where we're at, and I'm the most aware of anyone of Staff overreach, militarization, and problems that comes with it. I'd like to warn the community of another problem: Discord oversaturation.
The more you spread thin, the more confusing you make it, the more alerts and information people get annoyed at having to keep up with, the more you are giving a very unwilling me more authority over the scene of organic community building. Please do not misunderstand me, I am merely just raising awareness and warning against oversaturation of Discords. We don't need a Discord for every little thing, and it is obfuscating aspects of the community that become appealing. And you, yourself, do not control it either. Your band of friends don't control it. I know if I can't, you can't. But I do know that the worse it gets, the more people will look to me and the SWRP Staff Team for guidance and consolidation.
If it continues to spread thin, people will become annoyed to the point they'll eventually be asking for centralization. I don't think Chaos is strongest with centralization, so I don't want to do it. I think we're strongest decentralized and as a melting pot.
Attrition is the ego killer here. Work together, or you're giving more authority and more control over to me and Staff, forcing us into a corner where we'll have to eventually address a problem that was entirely avoidable. I wish I could help you do it, I've got pretty good ideas on how, but it's exactly that reason that I can't aid myself. All you gotta do is look at our last decade of history with the rise and fall of Discord to understand that the more popular the Staff team is and the more our reach grows, the worse it gets for us and eventually, ya'll too.
