GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Sith Troopers of the Kerstas Legion/Kerstas Trooper Legion
  • Affiliation: Order of Wonosa, Alisteri Haxim, Sith Order
  • Classification: Sith Troopers
  • Description: Among the ranks of the military forces within the Order of Wonosa, few units are as revered as the Sith Troopers. Named after the infamous soldiers of Sith long past, the Sith Troopers of the Kerstas Legion are by far the most well trained and intimidating of the Legion. Clad in heavy black and red armor that gives them a distinct air of both power and invincibility, the Sith Troopers live up to their namesake by appearing and operating much like any professional unit would. A seamless, competent, and extremely dedicated group of soldiers that crush all opposition beneath their advance.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Medium
  • Unit Availability: Common
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Equipment: The standard loadout for a Sith Trooper of the Kerstas Legion consists of their Trooper Armor, either a Blaster Rifle or Personal Repeating Blaster, a Blaster Pistol, a Vibroknife, and at least one grenade which usually comes in the form of either a Frag Grenade or a Breaching Grenade. Grenade Launchers, Blaster Carbines, and Scatter Guns are also common armaments depending on the role of the individual and the squad in general. Additional environmental modules to better operate in more extreme conditions and environments are also fairly common although the exact modules will differ based on the situation.
  • Combat Function: The Sith Troopers are a mixture of general purpose infantry and specialized units. They make up the forces spearheading most advances and can operate fairly effectively in most environments, providing a solid backbone that allows the more rank and file soldiers at their flanks and rear plenty of room to maneuver and operate while they soak up attention from the enemy and assault their most powerful positions. When on defensive roles they become bastions amidst the lines of fire on the battlefield, holding ground until every last one of them is put down or until the order is given to pull back and leave their enemy with a very bloodied nose. Their modular armor allows them to remain effective no matter their environment and as such they are also used heavily in battles that feature unusual or extreme environmental factors. Boarding ships is one common usage in regards to their specialization factor, as their heavy armor and ability to use them as somewhat effective armored spacesuits make them perfect for boarding parties even in areas with no breathable air.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A
Strengths:
  • A Legacy of War: The Sith Troopers of the Kerstas Legion, much like the cult as a whole, perceive themselves as the inheritors and descendants of the Sith states and militaries that came before them. As such a heavy emphasis on maintaining the fierce and unstoppable reputation of the Sith Troopers of old is present in all levels of training and command. While not inherently prideful the troopers do indeed take pride in their service and view their aiding in the furthering of the Wonosan goals as their primary objective at all times and by any means necessary. The Sith of old accepted no less than the best in their military forces and the Kerstas Trooper Legion seeks to uphold that standard and reputation.
  • Tried and True: Extensive training in various aspects is an essential part of being inducted into the ranks of the Sith Troopers. Strategies and tactics are almost as important as actually being able to hit a target fatally with their weaponry. Being the bulwark in one instance and the hammer that smashes against it in another is simply a necessity of the trooper operations and dedicated training to ensure that both of these roles, as well as the many others that they are tasked with, can be performed as effectively as possible. Having all the equipment in the galaxy means little if one is inept in how best to operate with and without it after all.
Weaknesses:
  • Creeping Advance: The tradeoff of the very protective armor and efficient tactics of the Sith Troopers is speed. Their marches may lead to devastating casualties and losses for the enemy in lives and land respectively but said marches are not very fast. In battle they are ill-equipped to flank an enemy in a quick manner and many troopers struggle to even reach a full sprint at times. This makes them pretty susceptible to skirmishing and delaying tactics and requires faster and more lightly armored support units in order to ensure that the troopers can operate at peak effectiveness.
  • Ionphobic: The inherent weakness of the troopers' armor is that of ion and electrical sources, making their armor far less efficient or even outright useless depending on the situation if said weakness is exploited. As such areas with lightning storms, enemies with ion weaponry, and even something as simple as sparking devices is enough to make the advance of the troopers pause or cause them to take a detour of some sort. Some battlefields with these qualities are even seen as outright impossible for the troopers to operate in and thus aren't even deployed in those cases, leaving the work to more rank and file units.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Sith Troopers as a concept have always been present within the ranks of the Order of Wonosa's military branch. The Legion of Kerstas in particular, despite being mainly used as rank and file soldiers, often held a notion that they were the new generation of the Sith Legionnaires that made up the military forces of the Sith Empire that came before them, and so on and so forth. Yet the lightly armed and armored units of the Legion were a far cry from the well trained and disciplined ranks of the Sith forces of old, even if the spirit and determination to emulate those ancient soldiers was very present.

When the military of the order underwent some changes, mainly in the form of equipment, one of the new additions to the Legion was that of more heavy arms and armor that could actually be used in frontline combat and even in a variety of environments and conditions. But the Trooper Armor was simply too expensive to manufacture on a large scale and the nature of it would necessitate heavy changes to the overall strategy and composition of the Legion's forces and structure if it was made the standard armor for the entire force.

As such it only made sense to establish the Sith Troopers as the core of the Legion in both spirit and in combat. The ranks of the troopers are more selective and receive more complex training in order to ensure that they can serve as the solid and reliable center of any formation with deadly efficiency. To be inducted into their ranks is not as simple as being a veteran within the more rank and file Legionnaires but to instead prove oneself worthy of the mantle through displays of competency and effectiveness in a variety of aspects.

The Sith Troopers of the Kerstas Legion may be the newest addition to the Order of Wonosa but they have existed as an idea and concept long before the cult was even founded, the inheritors of a legacy of stalwart and uncompromising soldiers that are as synonymous with the Sith as a crimson bladed lightsaber.
