Keeping the Peace(The Republic/Invite)

The Red Dragon Casinoo

Paega lounged lazily on top of one of the furnitures in Christian's office, as she looked out at the urban landscape of Zeltros stretched out before her. She was accompanying one Christian Slade, who had a glass of whiskey in his hand, as always. The young blonde woman looked clearly bored as she toyed around with a datapad she had found.

She could not understand why they were inside an office, of all the places in Zeltros. There were countless parties and other forms of entertainment taking place below them, and yet here they were, 300 stories above it all. Doing nothing very useful. "So who exactly are we waiting for..?" Paega inquired to Christian, having gotten the impression that they were waiting for some people to arrive. "And why?"

Once the stims were handed out, dispensed into bloodstreams, and empty cases handed back to [member="Avalore Eden"], the thick voice of Knight Morlandt came forth to address the objectives for this venture. Not a single one of the faces were familiar... but when one was absent for as long as he had been, it was hardly a surprise. At least not everyone had vanished, and it was good that he was establishing some form of relationship with the newer faces.

"A'right, listen close," he looked to each of them, "as ye might well know, rumour is that thar's likely still stragglers from th'recent events upon this 'ere world - darkies, an' th'like."

He glanced over his shoulder at Avalore, then further past her towards the city, before looking back to the small gaggle of padawans.

"Right. So, we've sussed out th'probable locations of th'stragglers to be th'Violet Bule Nightclub, th'Paradise Cantina, and th'Red Dragon Casino. Th'mission is tae investigate. Get tae th'bottom o'things. If ye ken, turn rumour intae fact."

He took a slow breath in and out, a faint smile touching his lips.

"Any questions?"

Varus turned to Haytham and Hatake with a bit of a surprised look on his face after having heard how whole heartedly they disagreed with him. That look softened after a moment, however, as he thought about how to respond, realizing that he had to treat the moment delicately if he was going to gain the trust of his fellow Padawan and if they were going to work well as a team.

"We can't just kick in doors and accuse someone of being a Sith, which technically isn't against the law. At least, as far as I know it isn't against the law. Just because there are Sith on this planet doesn't mean they're working with the Sith that attacked Zeltros a few months ago. We can't arrest anyone that isn't breaking the law, which is why we have to play this right.", he told the others behind him before Jannik spoke up and began to divulge to them their purpose on the planet today. As he did, Varus listened in rather carefully, picking up every detail that Jannik gave them and making sure that he knew every detail of the mission, despite having been informed by Kian back home what they'd be doing before he'd left Ossus.

Kian had known a bit about what was going down on Zeltros, though he wasn't aware of the details. That's why Varus made sure to absorb every word Jannik shared so that he wouldn't just be prepared to follow through with his own portion of the mission, but everyone else's as well just in case someone didn't meet their expectations. That's what he was there for. To pick up the slack for anyone who could carry what they'd been afforded.

As a matter of fact, he'd carry it all if he had to...

Ariella joined him out on the tarmac. Good of her to do so he thought to himself; turning to fact the blonde criminal. "I always aim to please miss. This time I hit my mark". Rayl bowed out with his arms still stowed and a cheky grin hidden behind his mask. "As for our operation tonight. Once we've the trucks loaded up we'll convoy to the warehouse. Our buyer will handsomely pay us and we'll be on our way to meet with Mr. Slade". A tilt of the head upwards signaled a pause in thought. He was reminded he needed to contact Slade to inform him of their arrival. Before that though he may as well address her sight seeing request. "Ohh, and if you want to go property shopping. I'm afraid that will have to wait until tomorrow. As we're a little busy at the moment; and dammed if you could find a real estate agent at this hour anyways". The snarky but truthful sarcasm perhaps a little much, but it conveyed the point. "Now I want you to supervise the workers. I need to go make a call". Rayl produced a holoprojector disk from his coat pocket and gave it a little hand wiggle to emphasize the point. His orders given, Rayl turned to find a more secluded area to talk.

Light boot work carried him a good distance away from the bustle of the freighter. Rayl found himself an L shaped stack of shipping crates. They'd keep any eyes from the Starport off him, and the area was quiet enough. Rayl set the disk down on one of the smaller crates and put forth his call. In a few seconds he was face to holo with some stranger woman. She introduced the usual spiel before he could get on with it. "Greeting Miss. I am Mr. Wilded. Mr. Slade should be expecting my call, can you please transfer me to him"? Now it was for Slade to pick up.

Orron Thrask

More Man than Machine
Given everything that seemed to be waying in on this mission Orron had been silent most of the time. To be honest he really didn't have much opinion on the matter when it came to mission breifings like these. His main concern was that, being a padawan, he didn't have much say as of yet before acutally being a knight. In fact he was bound to be the more conctent type to follow the words of the knights who were actually leading this mission itself.

However when Varus had made his objections Orron could agree. They couldn't just go and acuse someone of being a Sith or arresst under suspicion. And who was to say any Sith present were part of the Zeltros attack? Yet at the same time he could see why the knights were more intent in finding any and all Sith that may or may not have still been around. Given the growing hostilites, and his own personal history, Orron worried that some Sith may be in hiding or trying to gain some sense of control along with the other criminals that were present on the planet.

Finally having the courage to speak up Orron said "Maybe if we just focus on our senses with the force. That way we'll at least be able to tell who is or isn't a Sith. Once we DO find any Sith we can figure out what to do with them from there."

Avalore Eden - Jannik Morlandt - Christian Slade - Haytham Kaze - Hatake Mutashi - Amelia Rivers - Paega Anginous - Rayl Wilded - Ariella - Carn Dista

"Your job," Avalore spoke up at the growing dissension amongst the ranks, voice stern, expression flat, "is to investigate and observe. Use your brains," the woman tapped at her temple, "and your senses to get to the truth of the matter. You are our intel collectors, not the law enforcement. Find out what's going on in these locations and report in with your findings. You, Sir -" the Healer turned to [member="Orron Thrask"] pointedly, "-take your Stim."

"You each should have a working comm set to our private channel. Use that to keep tabs on each other and to report any findings to either myself or Knight Morlandt. Any information you can bring us will be helpful. Knight Morlandt and I will be keeping tabs on you from here - if you run into any trouble, contact us immediately. If you must use telepathy, direct it at Morlandt. You may stick together or break up into teams."

"Are there any further questions about the mission or what you job is today?"

Christian Slade

In Darkness I Thrive
Christian turned away from the pretty skyline above Zeltros to see Paega, who he smiled at as he started slowly pacing across the room. He raised his glass and took a sip of his whiskey as he circled around behind her, reaching out with his free hand and playing with her blonde hair as he did. He smiled down at the woman as he then finally decided to answer her question. "We've got work to do, you and I.", he said as he finally made it around to take a seat across from her, which he reclined in comfortably.

"You don't need to worry about who's contacting me, though. You just need to worry about saying yes to my offer. You were the pupil I was always proudest of, and I'm going to take the time to share more about the force with you, but for now I am going to employ your services as the manager of my Casino. This very Casino, in fact.", Christian told her as his comm on the table in front of them went off.

Sitting up, Christian activated the comm and watched as Rayl's image materialized, a smile spreading across his face as he reclined back into his seat. "Well. This is a surprise.", he said, though he was more aware than he let on. The force spoke to him in many ways, and he had a feeling that day was going to get interesting.

"I only kid. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mr. Wilded. How has your stay on Zeltros been?"

Haytham Kaze

Judge, Judgury, Judgecutioner
There was a moment of irritation from the Jedi Padawan when he was going to retort, but instead he shook his head with a confused look upon his face and he backed off, literally. There was a time to argue and there was a time for the mission, and this was the time for the mission. Haytham looked over the horizon again, and still listened to the words of the Knight Healer and the other Jedi Knight, and he took a few steps away from the group and threw over his shoulder, "I'll go to the Red Dragon."

After all, who wouldn't want to go to a Dragon?

He turned around with a questioning look on his face.

"Which way is it?"

[member="Avalore Eden"], [member="Jannik Morlandt"], [member="Varus Shatterstar"], [member="Hatake Mutashi"], [member="Amelia Rivers"], [member="Orron Thrask"], [member="Carn Dista"].

He glanced at [member="Avalore Eden"], once she was done chastising and informing.

"Thank ye fer clarifying," and when [member="Haytham Kaze"] asked his question, the smile on the seer's face grew just a little. He raised his voice just a tad with his next words, "Alri', gather 'round! Get cozy!"

In his response to the question of location, Jannik fished blindly, by feel, into the satchel hanging at his side, and after a moment, produced a hand-held holoprojector that he'd loaded with things that might be needed for this here jaunt. He thumbed the power switch, and what was first to load up but the very three-dimensional map he was after!

"Tae answer y'question, Padawan Kaze... well, relative to..." he looked over his shoulder, then back at the holomap, "...th'gigantic shopping centre starin' ye in th'face off yonder iffin ye just look up from y'feet..."

He flashed a vaguely cheeky grin.

"...th'Red Dragon's in nearabouts th'opposite corner o'th'city, on th'diagonal. Marked 'ere on th'map in red."

That was almost obvious!

"So iffin ye all look carefully at th'wee map, ye will find Paradise marked in green, an' th'Violet Blue marked in purple, both sittin' somewheres between th'aforementioned shopping centre, an' th'previously asked-after Casino."

He didn't feel the need to reiterate the other Knight's probing for any further questions.

Listening to Vorus' words which were words that Hatake could not completely agree with. Yes, they couldn't just accuse anyone of being a Sith, but what the Jedi didn't agree with was that they couldn't arrest anyone who was a Sith. He didn't remember when Sith were given rights or where protected by Republic law. Unless some senator proposed such law and everyone voted for the law to be legalized. Force forbid that would ever happen.

He was about to argue back to Vorus until one of the Knights had spoken up addressing to him and his fellow peers of their mission and the objectives. Followed by Knight Avalore with a stern voice reinforcing what Jannick said and adding a bit more information for the Padawans.

"I will take the Paradise Cantina. I will contact any of you two when I receive any information," with a bow of respect towards the two knights the Padawan began to depart from the the group of Jedi and head towards the Paradise Cantina.

Hopefully, this doesn't turn out a mess.

"I'll go wherever I'm directed to go. I have no preference. I just want to get this job done and see everyone home safe.", Varus stated as he glanced between Avalore and Jannik. He knew they'd send him where he was needed whether he chose where he wanted to go or not anyway, and if he had his way, he'd rather be accompanying one of the Knights, knowing that they'd take the hard road for themselves and try and keep the Padawan from getting into too much heat.

Standing there, in that moment, Varus had only just realized how different the other Padawan with him were. He also realized just how similar he and Orron were, preferring to avoid confrontation and realizing that they couldn't just go around making accusations. They had to follow the guidelines of the law and make sure that when there was an arrest made it was made legally. If not, potential Sith operatives or underworld smugglers and mercs could get off the hook without a struggle.

The other Padawan with them were so very different from him. They seemed so much more extreme, though he'd hate to think of them like that. Jedi extremists often fell into darkness and either became Sith, or like Vol Vallen on Kashyyyk, tried to justify their dealings by the dark side and still claimed to be Jedi.

"I have only arrived within the hour. Though seeing an old friend again was a spirit raiser, so far so good as it would be". The image static overtook for a moment, soon returning to nominal. "I have a delivery to make for a client before I am able to head to the Casino. I hope this won't be an issue. If need be we can reschedule for tomorrow, I could be held up. Hopefully it won;t be the case, and we can talk our business tonight in person". Rayl turned his head aside; hearing a noise a ways off. He felt no threat and turned back to his call.
