- Specialized for submarine combat.
- Intelligent, adaptable droid brain.
- Very fast swimmer.
- Jaws: These droids are well-armed with standard Helix phosphorus blasters, as well as with a pair of shoulder-mounted torpedo launchers to engage underwater vehicles. Additionally, they are prone to using their sharpened swimming appendages as bladed weapons.
- Hard-Shelled: These droids are intended to function under the crushing pressure of deep-ocean environments, and as such are resistant both to kinetic trauma and conventional energy weaponry.
- Specialized: While they can move and fight in terrestrial environments, this is not their intended purpose, and their finned appendages are ill-suited for the task of quick movement out of water.
The KBQ "Kraken" droid is a heavily-specialized infantry model, designed for use in aquatic environments.
Able to operate in shallow reefs as gracefully as abyssal trenches, these droids are designed to withstand extreme deep-water pressure, as well as see in the black depths with in-built night vision systems.
Superficially similar in appearance to the B1H, they are slimmer and more aquadynamic in shape, with a powerful underwater drive engine fitted to each unit to aid it in quick movements. Each is also fitted with sharp-edged finned limbs, allowing it to zip rapidly through liquid environments when needed. These fins are frequently used in melee combat, or simply when the droid must kill quietly.
The droids typically carry standard Helix blaster armaments, as X16 is volatile enough to burn even underwater. Additionally, each is mounted with a pair of small torpedo tubes, allowing the droids to combat heavy infantry or underwater vehicles to a limited capacity.
They are quite resistant to blunt-force trauma or blaster weapons, but given the need for speed and aquadynamics are not quite as armored against other forms of attack as many Helix droids.
Additionally, while they excel in combat in their intended environment, they are somewhat clumsy movers on land, with their large webbed limbs making them slower to move than terrestrial infantry droids.
