Kaar Sergeti.png
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Make some cool bodyguards and honor guards for folks to do stuff with!
  • Image Credit: Modified from this and this, all images cobbled together and fiddled with by me.
  • Role: To serve as bodyguards for VIPs of the Order of Wonosa.
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Order of Wonosa
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Kaar Sergeti, Keeper Sentinels
  • Affiliation: Order of Wonosa
  • Classification: Bodyguard, Security Detail, Special Operations Unit
  • Description: At first glance the Sergeti don't look all that dissimilar to any other Wonosan soldiers, only visibly set apart by gold trim and the inclusion of their somewhat unique symbol rather than the typical Wonosan one. While aesthetically they may have little difference from their more common peers, their disposition and effectiveness clearly sets them apart. Drawn from the most talented of the military forces at their disposal, the Kaar Sergeti often sport dour and focused moods unlike the occasionally rabid zealotry of their peers. They are dedicated to their tasks and especially to their charges, unflinchingly willing to throw themselves into harms way to ensure the survival of their charges or the success of whatever assignment they may be pursuing.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
Strengths:
  • Best of the Best: The most talented and dedicated of the Wonosan ranks are the only ones allowed to be inducted into the Kaar Sergeti, making them an elite group without any true peers aside from the Sith of the cult. Each is a veteran of dozens campaigns, giving them diverse yet complimentary skillsets which arrange them into perfectly formulated squads that can tackle any duty and task set before them with a ruthlessly clinical efficiency.
  • Only in Death Does Duty End: While they may lack the outright zealotry of their more common peers, the Sergeti are nonetheless fatally loyal to their mission and the Order of Wonosa as a whole. They hold no fear of death nor pain, their only concern is the success of their mission and the safety of their charges. They do not waste their lives but they know well enough how best to spend them to achieve victory.
Weaknesses:
  • Forged Warriors: Only through years of experience and dedicated training are the Sergeti selected, plucked from the ranks of Wonosa after having proved themselves capable of being counted among their number. As such replacing any one of the Sergeti is no quick or easy feat. The loss of even just one squad is the loss of years of investment and training which simply can't be recovered in any meaningful timeframe unlike a more standard combat unit.
  • The Job Comes First: The Sergeti first and foremost are assigned to the defense and safety of their charges, everything else will always be secondary. To this end should their VIP become wounded and in need of immediate evacuation for example, they will swiftly abandon whatever other task or duty they may have to ferry their charge to safety. Their removal from any combat scenario is quite easily done by the simple threatening of their charge, much to the chagrin of their peers.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
For the most part, the Order of Wonosa had no real honor guard to speak of for most of their history. They had very few VIPs to speak of and for the most part the ones that they did have were more than capable of defending themselves far better than any of their soldiers could. As such the regular rank and file of the cult were deployed alongside their key individuals and leaders without much fuss or alternate options, but as the cult grew larger so too did the need for some form of elite soldiers for their growing list of leaders and key figures. Initially this would come in the form of the Kerstas Troopers and while these troopers were effective they weren't quite ideal for bodyguard duty, simply being better suited for general warfare.

Eventually, as the Order found itself spreading out more and more with disparate enclaves becoming new hubs of activity, the need for proper guards for their leaders was too prominent to ignore. Especially given the lack of their foes. As such the Kaar Sergeti would be formed, drawn from the best soldiers within the Order that had shown prowess and were fairly level headed in their duties. They would be formed into squads that would be trained and drilled until they worked together seamlessly like individual parts of one greater whole, then they would be assigned to their charges.

Given that their charges would often include rather active combatants such as the Prophet of Bogan Himself as well as various Sith within the cult's ranks, the Sergeti had to be more than simply bodyguards. They are more than capable of keeping pace with their Sith charges in battle, often securing exit strategies or fighting right alongside their VIPs in the thick of combat. Given their experience in war they have no issue pursuing key objectives and making specialized assaults as well, being multi-faceted in their strategies and tactics so that they are never left wanting.

Of course they are still bodyguards first and foremost, tasked with the safety of their charges above all else. They will step in front of an incoming shot or blade without hesitation but naturally would much rather simply cut down any assailants long before they got within reach of their charges. Should their VIP become compromised or injured then they will move as one with them at the core, shepherding them away from danger without delay and sparing no time for flair in their efficient dispatchment of whomever may be threatening their charges.
