Jungle Boogie - The Dominion of Rakata Prime (One Sith and The Underground)

SWTOR_RakataPrimeFlashpoint_Screen07.jpg

Sinistra’s spy network has come across some disturbing intel about a Muun, Lan Porgata, who has a penchant for really old relics of bygone eras. He plays like he’s just a collector who buys pieces as an investment, but he’s known to be an expert on his stuff and his pieces are selected very, very carefully.

He’s recently gotten a taste for relics that might date back to the ancient Rakata. Not really wanting to draw the attention himself being a Muun, he’s contacted the Underground with an enticing offer. He will bankroll an order of new ships for them, in exchange for venturing to Rakata Prime and recovering an old, jeweled egg from a historical dig site abandoned by Republic scholars eons ago.

However, Sinistra’s own investigations suggest this relic could be a fabled Mind Prison left behind by an ancient Rakata from the Infinite Empire. Although it could be nothing, there are still thousands of ruins sealed away from prying eyes by the dying Rakata. If the egg is genuine, then the possibilities for the recovery of lost technology and powers is too great to let it fall into the hands of Lan Porgata.

The Underground gets there first, excavating the site from a small outpost they have established a few kilometers from the Temple of the Ancients. They have recovered the relic. In addition to the ruins, the planet is covered in salvageable materials, and in fact is ringed by debris from the wartorn past of the Rakata. It’s a salvager’s dream, remote and covered in junk. The debris field is dense enough that anything larger than a light freighter cannot make it to the planet’s surface.

However, their scouts soon report that they have company in the form of One Sith ships dropping from hyperspace on the edge of the sector. The Underground has mapped some routes through the debris field but the One Sith begin to deploy salvage vessels to clear routes through the debris so they can launch troop transports.

What was looking to be perfect location for an Underground base is quickly turning into a showdown with the One Sith in the Outer Rim.

Objectives:
  1. Fighting through the jungles to the Temple of the Ancients and take it control of it to establish a base.
  2. Dogfight in space to stop the One Sith from clearing a direct route through the debris and losing the "mine field" of junk that provides surface protection from orbital assaults and troop deployments.
  3. Steal the egg from the Underground outpost a few kilometers from the Temple of the Ancients.
  4. Make your own adventure.

Vyrassu lands on Rakata Prime yet again on a stolen ship thinking to himself that really needs to get himself a ship. Vyrassu exits his ship and examines some navigational charts as well as packing for the journey through the dense jungle....

It was a bad thing when a vacation for Coren Starchaser meant getting out to fight the Sith one to one. Joining the Galactic Alliance was the most excellent decision he had done, but they were not ready for what they were to be used for, to take down the Sith. Working on making the Alliance ready was starting to wear on him, and he needed some mindless victory over the One Sith. That meant he was going to be sneaking the back door of the world of Rakata Prime, also known as Lehon. The Sith were showing up to where one of the bases was, and he was not too keen on that.

The instinctive astrogator made his way to the surface pretty quickly, and quietly in the ShortFin. Across an encrypted channel he was doing his best to alert the Underground as he made his way to the foliage. Time to start killing people.

Underground missions were always fun, relaxed and they were working on stopping the One Sith.

Valkyrie Squadron the elite of the Hellhammer War Fleet. The best of the best made it's way to a new fight. This one in orbit of Rakata Prime. The only thing is they had to get there first. Unfortunately being the only active War Fleet in the galaxy means they had alot of ground to cover. Hellhammer operated out of Balmorra.

The only thing for him to do was sit back in the cockpit and wait to get to his destination. He only hoped Rakata would turn out to be a better experience than Atrisia had been. He had lost 5 good pilots on Atrisia. It was an experience he had not be prepared for and would never forget.

Vyrassu packed what he needed which was not much. Just his lightsaber, bacta stems, a vibro blade for cutting jungle brush down and some water to drink. Vyrassu then proceeded through the dense jungle hacking and slashing as he went with his vibro-blade. Vyrassu could sense a being other than animals on the surface that was not one Sith so he kept alert. Vyrassu looked up to the sky hoping to see some sort of explosions knowing the dog fight was happen right above him over Rakata Prime. Vyrassu continued on until he came across a wild animal. It looked like a dog but was green and its eyes were the size of tennis balls and had razor teeth. It started charging at Vyrassu. Vyrassu was quick with his lightsaber drawing it and cut down the beast. Vyrassu then continued on through the jungle.

Trin Gravois rarely went on any excursions that didn't involve stalking her brother Lucas Gravois, but since she joined the One Sith as an Acolyte, she had begun to branch out. What started as a way to keep tabs on her brother, had evolved into a loftier goal, to be a Sith warrior, a killing machine. Her racial identity lay with the Anzat, who survived by feeding off of the weak.

The scourge of the Sith raged through the Core, growing ever-stronger day by day. The prevalence of the dark side was tipping the scales of the galaxy. It was survival of the fittest, and Trin was going to climb the evolutionary chain to its apex. Her mission on Rakata Prime was simple. Fight the Underground. Steal the egg. It wasn't rocket science. Bonus points for scoring some soup from one or more of the Underground members. The thick jungles of Rakata Prime were full of predators, and today, they had one more prowling its grounds. The half Anzat hadn't eaten for days, and she was utterly ravenous.

Xander's writer usually wrote on Corey's team rather than fight against him. Today, with this thread, that was going to change. Sure Corey had way more master level toons than Dave, but who doesn't want to see an epic Corey and Dave stand off. It was four years in the making, well, almost.

Booted feet hit the jungle floors and sank slightly in the soft soil of the fertile ground. While others were taking a base, Xander would be fighting the underground. The resistance cell had been causing them trouble. First they tried getting the blue skinned Chiss to rebel, and now they were after... whatever it was they were after. Xander didn't really care, he was just going to fight them for once. The only thing Xander needed to avoid was the hangry lady. Apparently that meant Hungry and Angry. Seriously, the slang of these young whipper snappers was something else. That's what Xander got for being 847 years old.

Forests were often cold or chilly. Jungles, on the other hand, tended to be quite, quite hot. So, perhaps, it would have been best for Ire to leave her armor at home. Yes, that would have been better, considering the fur lining said suit had. That and it's distinct lack of temperature control.

But who said that you had to be comfortable to work?

Ignoring the sweat dripping off her brow the Sith trekked forward. There was a temple to capture. An ancient one, of which the galaxy still knew little about. If the Sekairo still held more of her past self's traits, then the idea of exploring the building would have her giggling with excitement. This version of her, however, wanted little more than to run into members of the famed Underground.
Solely so she could fight them.
And hopefully kill them.

Rakata prime....Never would Naga thought to be here, He was hesitant to join due to a mind prison being mentioned given his last experience with such a device he knows better now then to touch it. How ever recaliming this egg would prove beneficial in the long run and he will help achieve this power even if he has to cut through every bit of this old world to do so... He had to travel to the temple of the ancients to get it and that temple still radiated dark side energy from its former masters..energy he can feast off of and continue his growth.

A loud roar, can be heard coming from the dense jungle, then a loud thumping noise one by one as if they was humongous footsteps. Then from the tree a huge, blood red creature appears, his facial expressions tense as can be. Which then merges into a face full of anger; he then proceeded to run towards the opposition, stomping and tossing all that got in his way. He continued his charge into the enemies in front of them.

His deep unspoken voice finnally rings out as he screeches at the top of his lungs.

"Ja'ak!"

Meaning I am free, in his language(Sith).

Objective: Be difficult

Sometimes the ground was the best place for Coren. He wasn’t that much of a soldier, but he would fight tooth and nail to get the enemy gone. And allow his own people to retreat to safety. This was why he was not a dark Jedi, and most certainly not in bed with the One Sith and their staff. Sure, he made fun of the Rebel Alliance, but Dave’s Death, not the writer, the NPC, was just fun. They wanted to kill civilians? Have at it. The Underground base here, it was a safe house. A few of them, with a cache of weapons and a few odds and ends. He wanted to get into the skies, but first he was going to have to deal with this. He landed ShortFin in one of the landing zones and quickly descended the boarding ramp.

The Warden of the Sky/Aing-Tii hybrid was in his armor, no lightsaber, and his light repeater. He was here to get people out, and if he had to humiliate a few Sith with tactics they wouldn’t see coming? So be it. He’d get people off world, he’d make short work of people that were coming to disrupt the Underground, the Sith, his favored enemy, and then he’d go take down the squadrons trying to make their way through. “Load up folks, we can’t take the Sith face to face. Same as with Fringe. Get what you can carry, get to ships, and get space side. We’ll see you when we see you.” Coren had made his way to one of the local Underground comms. All points retreat, anyone who was going to could stick and fight, but most were going to get long gone before the walls came tumbling.

The feth could the inbreds want anyway? He shook his head, making his way upstream of the people heading to the landing zone.

They were not taking this world.

Khallesh had let out a blood curdling scream as she had charged through the jungle towards the enemy. She trained hard every day so that she could keep her legs pumping and cover great distances. A kilometre later she had started to query her orders. There were no enemy insurgents here.

It had taken nearly twenty minutes for her to discover that the source of the confusion was a failing in the interface between the technological One Sith command and control systems and the Yuuzhan Vong War Coordinators.

They were on the wrong continent.

Khallesh spotted [member="Vrag"] ‘s distinctive helm through the trees. The jungle was hot and humid, the air close. Khallesh was caked in sweat and being devoured by insects. Apparently it would be hours before resources could be diverted from an extraction.

She had nearly come to blows with the human in vonduun skerr kyrric once. Back on that evening meeting in Selvaris, Vrag had stood between Khallesh and the exit. Despite her respect for the Jeedai, she would have had no qualms about cutting her down if she set her mind on that course of action. Fortunately it had not come to that, and Khallesh had duelled Shuun for control of Domain Val’s warriors. She vividly recalled that night, as the lightning flashes across the sky and the pair grappled in the thick mud. Her left leg had been almost entirely ripped from her, before she caught the wily old veteran off guard.

“Apparently, we are in the wrong place!” Khallesh called out in her native tongue. When they had first met the infidel’s words had grated on her sensibilities, but she had improved over time. She found the human a quandary. An infidel who embraced their ways, but also the Force. Was that gravely disrespectful to both religions, or the complete opposite? Khallesh was a warrior of few words, but perhaps she would put the question to Vrag. In her usual blunt manner, of course.

Darth Vyrassu continued slashing through the trees surprisingly he had not met any more animals. His senses still highly alert. Vyrassu begin to make camp for the night as it was getting dark. Once camp was set up Vyrassu say down and went into a deep darkside meditation to get rest for the final approach to the temple in the morning.

Vrag

The Second Seal, broken.
When you were a lowly soldier, you could always blame your boss on giving you the wrong information. 'The lieutenant did it' was a popular excuse when something went wrong, and though the Sith Military Command rarely acknowledged them, at least the option existed.

When you were the boss, you had nobody to blame but yourself.

"Well… kark."

The boss in question was standing atop of a small rise in the middle of the thick underbrush, turning on the spot in hopes of spying something other than sprawling trees and impenetrable canopy. No such luck. Jungle spread out as far as the eye could see, with different shades of green and dirt filling her vision interchangeably until they kissed the clear skies at the horizon.

It reminded her of Gratos, except she didn't have the good company, the Nuhlrokka, or the extraction team on standby.

On second thought, this was nothing like Gratos, save for the square miles upon square miles of immaculate, unexplored, and karking humid forest reaching every which way. Why did this always happen to her?

Well, the Sith reminded herself with an inner drawl, this time it's kind of your fault.

Pleased that she'd fulfilled her yearly quota of guilt and regret, Vrag was about to start her inglorious and bloodshed-less trek back to the original LZ, when the most unexpected of voices rang across the small clearing she was currently occupying. The Hand spun around on her heel, coming face-to-face with the Huntress she'd come to respect for her prowess in battle. The fact that she'd been ready to try and cut her down once already despite the long odds told Vrag more than tales and stories ever could.

Still, there was a certain… schadenfreude to knowing that she wasn't the only one who'd karked up on today's mission.

"Yes," she was curt as she replied with the naturally sharp sounds of Yuuzhan Vong, crossing the small expanse of overgrown soil to come stand next to the Commander.

"For some reason, my oggzil cannot reach any of the villip choirs," she added as she came to a stop next to [member="Khallesh"], wondering what might be disrupting the usually unwavering connection between the organisms. It could very well be some persisting ancient technology of the mighty species that had once inhabited the planet.

They were on Rakata Prime, after all.

Ah, it seemed that she was more informed than the human. As she approached, she gave the appropriate salute for Vrag's rank. "Vrag of no domain," she said curtly. "There have been significant problems. This, it seems, is the wrong continent. There are no rebels here," disappointment and suspicion were evident in her voice.

She turned to her subordinates. "Send the group on exercises across the valley. Kakrat formation," she said.

"You are not coming?" he asked, looking to Khallesh and Vrag in turn.

Khallesh squared up to him, studying his face. There was silence for a moment as she considered whether he was simply asking the question or questioning her. She decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.

"No," she replied, and he was gone. "The transports have already been sent to deposit forces in the correct location. It seems we are stuck in this insufferable heat for a few hours," she said to Vrag.

Killing a bunch of rebel Jedi and smugglers wasn't Trin's only objective on Rakata Prime. The Sith Acolyte was also being sent to confiscate a precious object from the Underground, a purported Mind Prison that once belonged to the Infinite Empire. Sometimes Trin felt like she was in a Mind Prison, locked up inside her overactive brain, with her own intrusive, emotionally scarring thoughts racing through her head with no relief. At least when she was hungry, her mind was focused on something else besides him.

Her footfalls as silent as a whisper, the black-cloaked Anzat made her way to the enemy base. There was another guy skulking around, a dark-haired stranger, most notably wearing a large black hat. He wasn't shooting at her, so Trin assumed that he must be Sith. She cut her eyes sideways, and gave him a throaty chuckle, fingers caressing her saber hilt.

"Since we're both here, we might as well work together, eh?" she asked him.

Trin wanted to impress her superiors, so she wanted that egg, and if he tried to stop her, she'd eat him too.

Crunch. Leaves and twigs cracked under Enoch's boots as he walked through the jungle. Him and Sehzade stalked through the thick jungle, the beast felt comfortable in jungles, and Enoch had decided to bring it with him. Time to see if this one could do what Enoch wanted of it. The long pale fingers of the Zambrano trailed over the head of Sehzade, who in turn pushed his head into the hand further, purring lightly. That'd get them in trouble. The last thing Enoch wanted to happen was to die because a stupid cat purred too loud. Enoch held out a hand in front of his pet, keeping it from moving forward more. As Enoch crouched low to the ground, Sehzade followed suit, plopping down into the leaves, and began licking his paw.

"Dumb beast..." Enoch muttered, to which Sehzade gave the boy a quick back. It didn't know what Enoch said, but he knew it was rude. Orange orbs looked over Sehzade as Enoch looked for his teacher, Darth Noxia. Or, Greta, as he had recently learned.

"Wonder if Dear will show..." Enoch spoke to Sehzade, and he began to gently pet the creature, who purred more. Eventually, as Enoch waited, Sehzade fell asleep, snoring while laying on his side. Enoch just groaned, looking to the forest. He sent out a quick message to Greta's comm, an irritated look on his face.

Coming, dear?
You'll hear the snoring.

Jungles, Darth Ophidia hated jungles. A vibroblade in hand, she cut through the foliage and carved a path into the overgrown wasteland. One more, she had been called to soldier for the One Sith’s warmachine. Unlike many others, she did not bring a host of troops. Rather, she preferred to go in alone.

Despite her desecration of the local plant life, she hardly made a sound and her senses were on high alert. Being an assassin did not only mean she was good at remaining undetected, but also detecting those who preferred to stay hidden.

Her mind probed out in search of life, while her presence was supressed to the size of a molecule, making her extremely hard to pinpoint from her presence alone. Ones best bet would be to hear the way her blade wacked through the leaves and branches. Could she be stealthier? Probably. If she so wished, no trace would be seen. Perhaps it would be more prudent, but alas far less fun.

Vrag

The Second Seal, broken.
Of no domain.

Well, she's not wrong, is she? She let out a sigh. "Great." What more was there to say? She could beat herself up later, but probably won't, because let's face it, it would do nobody any good. The one lesson to be learned from this… unfortunate experience was to, you know, never kark up the destination continent again. It was just that simple.

The Jedi beat themselves up over it, and look where it got them.

"Should be better at the mountains," the woman ventured as she watched the Yuuzhan Vong trek into the sprawling jungle. She didn't envy them the drills the Commander had sent them on, but she nonetheless approved of the decision. Troops of any kind, Vrag had found, preferred to do something over nothing, and standing in the middle of a forest sweating your life away was definitely not an appealing option.

"Let's go." The leaders, too, were not overly fond of befalling that fate. Or at least not leaders like Vrag and [member="Khallesh"]. Other kinds didn't much interest the firrerreo beyond their possible replacements. Useless links in the chain were set to be replaced; that's simply how things worked with the One Sith, and the reason why the One Sith worked where others had crumbled before them.

Without further ado, the Hand started making for the outlines of a mountain range in the distance while doing her very best to ignore the calculations of distance presented to her by the HUD. The number was big, the terrain was chit, and the weather was not worthy of calling itself weather.

It was starting to look a bit more like Gratos, though. At least now she had good company.
