BIOGRAPHY:
PART 1
  • The Graves family dates back for generations to the temperate planet Aleen Minor. Little is known about the family's migration to the planet or how the family came to be affiliated with the religious organizaton known as the Congregation of the Way. His father became head priest of the congregation sometime in the late 9th century ABY. A few years later, Joland was born. Joland was rebellious by nature and found it hard to commit to his family's spiritual way of life. Instead of attending religious service or taking care of his consumptive mother, he would often sneak away to watch the famous podracers who practiced for the Aleen Classic. Once he reached adolescence his relationship with his father became more tenuous. More was expected of the slowly maturing boy. Though guilt-stricken to follow in his family's footsteps, Joland desired something more. A spark flickered inside him; a purpose he didn't understand. After long hours working concession stands at the local podraces, Joland saved up his credits and left for Coruscant. His mother cried; his father didn't.

PART 2
  • Working odd jobs for petty credits, in the underbelly of Coruscant, was not the most elegant way to make a living. Wanting to branch out and embrace a different path in life, Joland joined the Coruscant Security Forces after passing by a recruiting drive. He rose through the ranks quickly despite his youth and inexperience. Unbeknownst to him, his investigative intuition was a product of his burgeoning force sensitivity. These skills landed him assignments primarily in the Coruscant underworld, where he saw how the other half live, deeper in the city. Occasionally stubborn to a fault, and uninterested in acquiescence to his superiors, life as an officer of the law was difficult for Joland. Eventually, after an altercation with a superior officer, he was stripped of his rank and discharged from the CSF. He wasn't exactly disappointed.

PART 3
  • By coincidence or act of fate, Joland ran into a Jedi Knight during an investigation. Joland expressed interest and helped lead the case to a diplomatic solution. The Jedi noticed his potential affinity for the Force and invited him to the Coruscant temple for evaluation. Was this Joel's purpose? was his spark now kindled?
