OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent:
To further flesh out Enyo's cyborg posse. This is a resubmission of this character, updated to fit the new Codex and have links that work.
Image Credit: Here. Female Bounty Hunter by Andrew Lim. Found on andrew-lim.deviantart.com.
Role:
Johanna serves as one of Enyo's chief lieutenants in the Iron Fist Consortium and Archangel Research & Design. She is also a proficient killer, cleaner and investigator, working in what amounts to Enyo's special operations branch.
Permission: Permission for all ArmaTech/Alderaan Engineering gear and all other subs made by Laira Darkhold's writer here and here.
Links: Archangel Research and Design, Alexia Zarides, Amara Zarides, Kraal, Pandemic, The Red Arrow.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Age:
33
Force Sensitivity: Non-Force User
Species: Human Cyborg.
Appearance: Johanna is a tall human female with pale skin and shoulder-length red hair. Her feature are quite pale, and her hair looks artificial. So does the right side of her face and the skin has a plating section. There is clear ridging on her face's right and left sides. This is the result burns. She possesses cybernetic implants. She has a self-assured expression and a confident, if stiff, posture. A shootout with Cor-Sec cops left a bullet wound in her abdomen. While it has healed, a pale scar remains. Her right leg is an expensive bionic made of Phrik. Due to cybernetics, the thigh conceals a small holdout blaster. She has a visible ocular implant. Johanna is a fancy dresser, but stays away from revealing attire, preferring to show little skin. Like Enyo, she is fond of cool longcoats that billow dramatically when it is windy. She wears armour of some sort when she expects combat, though she relies more on her augmentations than tanky armour.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
Name:
Johanna Tyrone. Nicknamed Jan.
Loyalties: Archangel Research and Design, Iron Fist Consortium, Typhos Clone Family,
Enyo.
Wealth: Moderate-high. Payment in the Iron Fist Consortium and Archangel is on a sliding scale based on experience, rank, reward and so on. This also governs access to loot obtained from raids, rackets and so on. However, Johanna has extravagant tastes and is therefore forced to continually obtain more cash. It is generally obtained through illicit means. Even conditioning has been unable to eliminate her greed. Enyo knows about this, and considers this gross materialism and spendthrift attitude a sign of weakness. However, she considers Johanna useful enough to keep around, and has recognised that the woman's greed gives her leverage over her.
Notable Possessions:

As a slicer, Johanna uses a modified U20 Field Link with a scramble key and other security equipment such as Data Spikes, anti-security blades, Field Security Overloaders, EMP disruptors, and other such devices to disable or hack various electronic systems. She owns a few Stecher Wasp Droids and has a supply of Morpheus Sedative Drugs. Her body has augmented by a Cardio-Muscular Package, while a Memory Package boosts her memory. She also has a cortical datasplint and implant armour. Her sidearm of choice is a Renegade Model 557 and her favoured rifle a VT Needle Disruptor.

Skills: Slicing, interrogation, investigation and intelligence work, marksmanship, melee combat and hand-to-hand, poisons. Johanna made a career as a corrupt police officer in Cor-Sec and later became a freelancer in the criminal underworld. She is an experienced investigator, field agent, slicer and a good shot. She is experienced in fabricating experience, extracting and falsifying confessions. In addition to Basic, Johanna is fluent in Huttese. She knows some Twi'leki, but is poor at speaking it.

Personality: Johanna is one of the newer additions to the collection of cutthroats, mercenaries, Force clones, homicidal assassin droids, Shards, barbarian berserkers and gangers that constitute Enyo's private army. It is truly a colourful collection. Many are cyborgs, and this applies to her as well. She is also suitably amoral to fit into such an organisation, which has Lawful Evil as its predominant alignment. In contrast to her boss, Johanna is rather materialistic. She is fond of nice things, tasty steaks and good wine. She shops in exclusive boutiques and eats in good restaurants.

Greed is one of her sins, and what drove her to become a dirty cop during her time in Cor-Sec. She is organised and a neat freak. Indeed, she has something of a cleanliness issue. Everything needs to be organised, clean and proper. Immaculately pressed clothes, hair just right, polished boots, pristine floor, bed made and so and so forth. It would be fairly accurate to say that she is a bit obsessive compulsive and needs to clean and sanitise everything. Woe to any minion who does not have clean boots. Or who gets blood on the carpet during an interrogation. Oh, and she really detests insects. Her penthouse apartment is impeccably clean. Johanna grew up on Corellia and thus had a Corellian accent, but now she speaks Basic with a Coruscanti one. It is very posh and clipped.

Johanna is very disdainful of any forms of spiritualism and dismissive of 'hookey religions'. She probably enjoys violence a little too much. She sure likes a good fight. Due to her family background, she knows an awful lot about drugs, especially mushrooms. Johanna is quite conservative, to the point of prudishness, as her licentious parents were free-love hippies who believed in polyamory. She tends to have a low opinion of promiscuous people, regarding them as lacking self-control and being driven by urges. For the same reason, she dislikes media that shows nudity. However, while she is quite uptight, Johanna is not asexual. But she has acquired an HRD to attend to her physical needs. By contrast, murder does not phase her. She has no qualms about using blackmail, torture and other immoral means to get what she wants.

Johanna respects audacity, cunning and ruthlessness. Overall, she is rather lacking in morals. She acts as a trainer and mentor for Alexia Zarides, the second clone of Kaelin Isandros. The two are quite close, or at least as close as a sociopath can be to anyone. Alexia has learned a lot about undercover work, murder and falsification of evidence from her. Johanna is not a pleasant or good person by any stretch of the imagination, but her affection for her little understudy appears to be genuine. However, she may also be a bad influence on the young clone. Johanna dislikes Amara Zarides, Alexia's sister and the original Kaelin clone. She considers her to be weak-kneed and sometimes compares her to the hippies she used to know, though she concedes that Amara is better dressed and a lot cleaner.

In contrast to her parents, Johanna is mildly xenophobic. She does not hate aliens per se, but she is biased against non-humans who 'have odious smells and do not know how to dress properly'. This tends to refer to alien species that look extremely different from humans as well as those she considers 'backward', such as Kraal. However, she also dislikes Twi'leks and Zeltrons, considering them licentious and unclean. Indeed, her xenophobia is connected to her phobia against dirt. Interestingly, she has kinder views on Wookiees, viewing them as civilised and quite sensible. She does not like seeing them abused or chained and is civil to them. This is due to an incident from her past. As a result, she gets on with some of the Wookiee raiders who work for Enyo. Johanna is largely apolitical, but favours an oligarchy of some sort. She dislikes democracy, viewing it as mob rule, as it allows the 'wrong sort of people' to rise to the top. Overall, she believes that in practice the democratic process is a charade only summer children would believe in. Johanna has a high opinion of herself and comes across as self-important. This impression is well-justified, but she backs it up with competence and a good work ethic.

Johanna was once indoctrinated and set against Enyo. She believes that the Terminatrix undid her conditioning, freeing her. This is true, but Enyo also subtly manipulated her programming to ensure that Johanna views her favourably. Presently, the ex-cop is unaware of this. Enyo still rewards her for successful missions and treats her well so that conflict does not arise. The Terminatrix dislikes Johanna's materialism, but finds her useful enough to keep around and let her remain a living being instead of processing her. Privately, Johanna is fascinated by cybernetics and machines. She is intrigued by the idea of transcending organic limitations. However, she would like to remain herself, so being processed into an HRD is not an option for her, as it would just be a replicant wearing her face and with her memories. She is not a scientist, but has the curiosity and knowledge of an interested laywoman.

Johanna and Neda Chazzak, one of Enyo's lieutenants and the commander of the Eisenkrieger, do not get on. Neda is rather rough and tumble. She sees Johanna as uptight and pompous. Like the former cop, Neda has cybernetic implants, but she treats them as tools instead of an evolutionary step. They were required to save her life, and they make her a better warrior. That is all there is to it. Meanwhile, Johanna sees the Zabrak as useful, but as uncouth and coarse. The fact that Enyo tolerates a notable degree of irreverence from Neda might have also made her a bit jealous.

COMBAT INFORMATION
Weapon of Choice:
Blasters, slugthrowers, most ranged weapons. Preference for disruptors, flechette launchers and particle beam blasters. She is fond of using disruptors. Preferred sniper rifle is a Nightstinger. Cybernetics make her good in melee.
Combat Function: Johanna is a highly experienced intelligence operative, investigator, professional killer. Her preferred combat role is as a gunslinger, but she is also good in melee. Cybernetic implants endow her with significantly enhanced strength, speed, endurance and reaction time compared to a normal, unaugmented human. Rybcoarse wrap around her muscles, providing additional reinforcement and added strength and stamina. A
cyberjack, taking the form of a finger, allows her to interface directly with droids and computers and security systems. This boosts her slicing. An ocular implant give her better sight and various vision modes. Similar to a Guavian minion, she has a mechanical reservoir that acts as a second heart, injecting a combination of chemical into her bloodstream that boosts adrenaline. A brain implant enables nonverbal communication with other cyborgs in Enyo's posse. Her lungs are augmented by a cybernetic respirator.

While the implants are hardened and armour provides a measure of protection, her augmentations also make her rather vulnerable to powerful ion and EMP blasts, along with electricity-based Force powers such as Force Lightning or Destroy Droid. As her right leg is a bionic prothesis, these have the potential of crippling her.

A number of her enhancements were upgrades from a Hutt. Thus they are not designed for comfort. Her enhanced hearing actually makes her more vulnerable to very loud noises. These can overwhelm her primitive sensor output and temporarily stun her. Powerful sonic weapons are particularly painful for her, more so than for a normal human. The same applies to Force techniques like Force Bellow and Force Scream.

Strengths:

  • Johanna is a highly capable intelligence agent, detective, investigator and field operative. She is experienced in fieldwork as well as mission control, slicing and team management.
  • Her physical capabilities have been augmented by cybernetic implants. She benefits from improved senses, incredible strength and durability. She also has a cybernetic respirator.
Weaknesses:
  • Not all of her enhancements were designed with comfort in mind. Some can have unfortunate side-effects. Her hearing is enhanced, but this makes her more susceptible to loud noises. These can overwhelm her sensor output and temporarily stun or disorientate her. Sonic weapons, as well as techniques such as Force Scream and Bellow are more painful for her than the average human being.
  • Her implants are hardened and she tends to wear armour. This provides a level of resistance, but she is nonetheless vulnerable to strong ion and EMP blasts, as well as lightning. These can damage or temporarily disable her implants. Her right leg is a prothesis, so this has the potential to cripple her.
  • Her cybernetics are covered by synthetic flesh, but still give her a somewhat uncanny appearance. Thus she is clearly marked as a cyborg. This is a bit of a situational issue, but it can make infiltration difficult in certain circumstances, as it is more difficult for her to blend in among normal society.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Johanna was born on the Core world of Corellia. Defying the typical Corellian stereotype, her parents were not snarky smugglers, daring Cor-Sec agents or notoriously contrary Green Jedi. Rather they were flower children with a background in leftist activism, protesting against 'The Man', whoever that happened to be at the moment. During Johanna's youth, it was the Omega Protectorate. Not only was it a 'warmongering junta', but it was also a leading participant in the so-called 'Bacta Conspiracy'.

Her parents were also radical life-ists who were against killing anything for food, be it plants or animals. From their point of view, such actions disrupted the living Force. To avert corruption, they lived in a commune where they only ate fruits and vegetables picked from a tree, along with water and some other things. This was obviously very unhealthy.

Their refusal to kill ensured that their 'house' was filthy and infested with insects. Her mother was fond of saying. "The bugs are just fulfilling the natural cycle, Jo, don't swat them, embrace the cycle." Once the militant commune members burst into a steak restaurant and harassed patrons. The members of the commune practiced free love. They considered it wrong to use contraceptives, but lacked the means to properly care for the children that were inevitably spawned by their carnal activities. To this day, Johanna is uncertain whether her mother's 'soul-mate' is in fact her biological father.

Young Johanna had an older brother, but he died before she hit puberty because their parents refused to use vaccines or modern medicine. Her parents made a living as artists, which means that they lived off the largesse of the decadent, materialist society they railed against. Young Jan was a difficult child and rebelled against their desire to mould her in their image. Given their bizarre behaviour, this is probably no surprise. Once there was a raid because members of the commune were suspected of peddling forbidden narcotics. Young Johanna saw her father being led away in handcuffs. He was released, but the commune's guru remained in prison. Her parents' behaviour grew more erratic. They blamed her brother's death on the authorities and the commune grew more and more isolated. When Johanna struck up a friendship with a boy outside of the commune, she was harshly reprimanded.

One day the commune went on a trip to Kashyyyk. At first the sect wanted to admire the Wookiees, who lived 'in harmony with nature'. But then they saw them hunting and killing animals for food, using wood for construction and leather for clothing. Moreover, the 'noble savages' had modern tech. This was inconceivable for the commune. The Wookiees did not take kindly to being lectured. Johanna had to accompany her parents. The little girl had lice because her family refused to use soap; they only used water. "Lice are just doing nature's work, killing them would be wrong." The Wookiees were angry at her condition and demanded she receive care. The commune called them 'murderous barbarians' and were lucky to escape with their limbs attached.

However, the incident hit the news and caused a stir back home. Social workers took the child away and put her in a home. This occurred after she got very sick and her parents refused to 'give our daughter this poison you call medicine. It disrupts her life force energy.' Still, life in the commune had left its mark on Johanna, though not in a way her parents would have liked, for she swung really hard against anything they stood for. This meant embracing the pleasures of meat, murder and materialism.

She did well in her studies, though she had a lot of catching up to do after being liberated from the clutches of the commune. Johanna was a bit introverted and did not socialise much, but she was a good student. She got a degree in criminal justice and signed up for Cor-Sec as soon as she was old enough. Her parents were probably aghast at the news, for Cor-Sec was obviously the jackbooted enforcer of 'The Man'. Cor-Sec's mission was to uphold the law, protect the innocent and serve the public trust. Or something along those lines. Doing well as an investigator and case officer, she worked her way up the ranks.

Johanna received a commendation after working undercover in a religious cult/mafia that distributed Bando Gora narcotics. The mission was rather harrowing and the cultists reminded her more than a little of the insane commune she had left, just a lot more violent. It culminated in a raid on their temple, which doubled as a spice factory. The cult leader died during the attack. Johanna claimed she killed him in self-defence. There was good reason to doubt this, but the raid was a public success, especially since it hit the headlines that several children had been rescued from the cultists' abusive treatment. So enquiries were soon squashed.

Transferring to the Special Operations Division, she proved herself a competent officer. She eventually returned home. Her fame was fleeting, but she used it to take down the sect her parents belonged to. Conditions had grown worse at the commune and the abuse case was reopened. The anarchists were forced to adhere to a strict timetable and had to eat 'unconsented food'. Being under the thumb of 'The Man' was hellish for them. The remaining children of the sect were sent to an orphanage. Johanna put a flamethrower and some Molotov cocktails to good use by burning the commune down.

She made sure her parents got pictures. Indeed, Johanna made a habit of sending mail to her parents. However, this was not out of compassion. Instead, she wanted to know that she was thriving in the world they hated so much and had thoroughly rejected their way of life. Here and there, she also mentioned how the rescued children from the commune were doing. Johanna visited the home the surving kids had been put in and made sure to keep tabs on them. Indeed, she was quite protective of them. When one of the kids was at risk of falling into bad crowd and being taken advantage of by drug dealers, she gave the criminals a lesson they would not forget.

However, Johanna had become greedy. She joined a network of corrupt Cor-Sec officers. One of her colleagues recruited her. Johanna had managed to unmask him as a dirty cop who had been taking bribes and falsifying evidence. But instead of disposing of her, her colleague offered her a job. Her motivations were mainly financial, as she had an expensive life style and lived beyond her means. Thus it boiled down to greed and a desire to enhance her status. Furthermore, she enjoyed the power association with the network gave her. Providing protection to some criminals in return for a share of the profits and getting rid of those who did not meet their conditions, the network was essentially a big racket, with some prosecutors and judges on the payroll. What scruples she had vanished once she realised how many officers in the unit were on the payroll. Indeed, certain officials in the local city government were implicated. She soon graduated from helping the mob to working with them.

To prove herself, Johanna disposed of a colleague who was on the network's trail, after pretending to be his friend. She made it look like he had been murdered by criminals. In many ways, she acted like a cleaner, mopping up and removing or falsifying evidence. This expanded upon her skills in slicing and other technical matters, along with stealth. Any moral scruples she might have had about deceiving her honest colleagues and participating in criminal activity were soon abandoned. Johanna had an eye on climbing the ladder and had no qualms about using her criminal connections to facilitate this.

She had a bit of a grudge against environmentalists or whistleblowers after what had happened with her family. A local politician had been approving polluting factories in return for a kickback. However, a plucky journalist did research, but unfortunately Johanna made sure they had an accident. Next, she learned about a leak. Someone, not too happy about the local government's move towards the corporations had been leaking information. She dug up an old case and 'persuaded' the witness to come forward so the leaker could be charged. Johanna accepted bribes to help facilitate the sale of illegal cybernetics and arranged for 'donations' of parts. Her interest in cybernetics stems from this time.

Alas, all good things mus end. A rookiee who wormed her way into the group's confidence turned out to be an experienced Internal Affairs agent who worked directly for the Protectorate. Furthermore, Johanna botched an assassination attempt on a member of the group who had gotten cold feet and showed signs of wanting to testify. From then onward, things went downhill. Unsurprisingly, the crooked cops showed little loyalty to one another once they were in the line of fire, as they were all out for themselves. After a shootout that left her injured, Johanna was arrested. Under interrogation, she tried to strike a bargain, offering cooperation and her services as a witness in return for a lesser sentence. She also hinted at possessing knowledge about dirty laundry the agency would not want leaked to the public. Then trillions of people disappeared at the start of the Netherworld Event, and Akala tore Corellia in half. Against all odds, Johanna survived this apocalyptic event. Going underground, she managed to subsist in the wasteland Corellia had become. Thus the greatest calamity her people had ever suffered turned out to be beneficial to her. Conveniently, most of the people who knew about her past had died, and the rest had bigger concerns than a crooked cop.

When the One Sith annexed the planet, she considered working for them, but found them too arbitrary. Moreover, she reasoned that a Non-Force-User like her would only have a limited chance of true advancement. Instead she left Corellia, acquiring a ship through illicit means. She never looked back. After changing her identity, she resurfaced in the galactic underworld. There she made herself a name as a professional killer, cleaner and intelligence specialist, putting all she'd learned during her time as a dirty cop to good use. She also began to augment herself with cybernetic implants. She joined the Black Dragon Syndicate, an Atrisian-dominated criminal organisation, as an enforcer with her eyes set on making lots of money and becoming a member of its upper crust. She soon became the chief lieutenant of one of the underlords, but as so often, a rise was followed by a rapid fall.

Setup by one of her rivals, she fell into the hands of a Hutt. Johanna did not go down without a fight and suffered nasty burns. The Hutt in question was an enemy of Enyo, who had been meddling with the family business on Vorzyd. Secretly, the slug was also being advised by a Dark Jedi called Yerevan. Once he had been Enyo's sponsor in her crusade against Archangel, before realising that she was becoming too difficult to control. Especially after she began interfering with his business interests.

At the time the Black Dragons were considering an alliance with Enyo's syndicate. So the Hutt decided to kill two birds with one stone by augmenting Johanna with extensive cybernetics and conditioning her to obey him. Subsequently, she and a unit of killers disguised as Black Dragon goons were dispatched to eliminate the Terminatrix. Johanna tried to break her conditioning, but was unable. Ambushing the Terminatrix on Vorzyd, she showed herself a capable combatant, taking out several Iron Fist Consortium minions and giving Enyo a good fight, before being disabled. Using the power of mechu-deru, Enyo was able to undo her indoctrination. Little did Johanna know that during her convalescence, the hybrid subtly manipulated her programming to ensure that she would view her new boss favourably. After all, it is good to have friends and allies, but better to have friends and allies with a backup in case something happens.

Regardless, feeling something close to actual, albeit grudging gratitude, Johanna switched sides, swearing allegiance to Enyo. Accessing the operative's previously blocked memories allowed uncovering the role of the Hutt. Issulla was strangled with the chains of her own slaves. After a little 'negotiating session' with the Black Dragons Syndicate, she became one of Enyo's lieutenants, working beneath the hybrid and her HRD Consigliere. For a while, she ran operations on Vorzyd, where she took a particular interest in the gambling business, before being assigned to headquarters. She alternated between running local operations and acting as a general troubleshooter with a roving commission. The Cyborg grew close to Alexia, one of Enyo's siblings. Though different in background, the two had a number of things in common. The ex-cop took the young clone under her wing and taught Alexia her trade. By contrast, she did not get on with Amara, who was too moralistic for her tastes. She appreciated Thuella somewhat, as the Dahomian was an engineer and researcher who could help Johanna upgrade herself, though she found her too squeamish.

Johanna played an important role in helping Enyo resolve a pandemic in the slums of Lower Coruscant. A think tank of bioterrorists had weaponised a disease in order to cleanse big cities of overpopulation. They called the Galactic Sustainability Trust. However, their test subject escaped and released the virus prematuraly before they could manufacture an antidote to protect the 'worthy'. Since this happened in her bailiwick, Enyo had to take action. Alexia Zarides teamed up with Farah, secretly the clone of Joza Perl and a member of the Zambrano family, to track down and seize the laboratory where the virus had been manufactured. There they were able to subdue the scientists and 'persuade' them to switch allegiances.

Meanwhile, Enyo and Johanna infiltrated a landing pad that had been taken over by a group of mercenaries. They were able to take out most of the sellswords. One of them was captured. Under interrogation, he confirmed that they had been dispatched to contain the outbreak. Their employer was a renowned scientist connected to the Trust. However, before he could answer more questions, they were attacked by a gunship. Their captive perished, but the duo was able to hijack the craft. Enyo and Johanna were able to abduct the leader of the terrorist group. He was masquerading as a philantrophist. After thorough interrogation, he would end up being processed. Enyo decided to keep and refine the virus rather than destroying it. Alexia and Enyo's pet mad scientist Zakarias Vont oversaw the integration of the Trust's research staff into the Iron Fist Consortium.

When Enyo travelled to Karakorum to negotiate with the enigmatic Kraal Imperator and hire some of his warriors, she took Alexia and Johanna with her. The Kraal were barbarians, but ferocious warriors and would be an asset in the ongoing war against Archangel. Amara was rightly considered to be too moralistic to go along with some of their actions. While Enyo negotiated with the lizard warlord, Alexia and Johanna used subterfuge and lies to interrogate some slaves about the Imperator's secrets. From them she learned that the Kraal leader had vanished several years ago, at the time of the Netherworld event. Back then he had not been the Imperator, but when he returned he possessed far greater strength in the Force and destroyed all his rivals. To prove her worth, Enyo was given the task of killing an enormous sand wurm and bringing the Imperator its head.

The morally compromised gang bought the slaves Alexia and Johanna had interrogated. All but two were loaded with explosives and used as live bait. After they had been devoured by the beast and had exploded inside its belly, the gang opened up with volleys of heavy weapons fire. However, despite its injuries the wurm was an extremely tenacious opponent. Several of the Iron Fist's goons were devoured by it. Enyo herself was swallowed, but managed to slice her way out and kill the beast from the inside. Alexia, who had believed her sister, to be dead, considered her reckless. However, the Kraal Imperator was satisfied. Three Kraal clans vied for Enyo's favour and she let their champions fight it out, choosing the clan of the victor.

Johanna was involved in the final battle with Archangel. After having laid low for many months, the corporation/machine cult launched an unexpectedly severe counterattack, destroying the Iron Fist's base of operations. The machine cult had used the time to rebuild its assets and entered an alliance with Contingency remnants. This forced the Iron Fist to ally with the Shadow Knights, a dissident organisation of Eldorai renegades whose people had been targeted by Archangel for processing. The counterattack from her creators compelled Enyo to radically accelerate her timetable and muster all the allies she could find for the final assault on the machine cult.

Alexia and Johanna were put in command of unit of special operations soldies and played an important role in destroying Archangel's new prototype warship. Moira Skaldi was destroyed during the fighting and Enyo confronted her mirror, the second clone of Siobhan Kerrigan. She was able to free her sibling from Archangel's control, but at a cost. In the aftermath of the fighting, Enyo and Amara parted ways. Enyo assumed control of Archangel. Johanna remains at her side, still eager for advancement. She has forged an alliance with Alexia, which she sees as an important stepping stone to assure her future.
