Intent: To develop a strong sedative for Archangel’s nefarious purposes. This drug is used to render organics unconscious and can be prolonged with subsequent uses. Naturally, using this on a PC requires the writer’s consent.
Development Thread: Yes. Posts 1-21 relevant.
Manufacturer: Archangel Research & Design
Model: 00001101
Affiliation: Open market. | Archangel Research & Design & closed market to approved buyers only
Modularity: Compound can be aerosolised. Delivery methods vary.
Production: Minor.
Material: Delivery method varies. Drug itself combines various chemical compounds.
Description:
In order to facilitate their often genocidal desires, Archangel needs to capture their targets alive and mentally sound. This allows them to entech their captives and place this information into new droids and/or to learn useful intelligence.

Though there are many sedatives available, many of them have unfortunate side effects or problems in administration. Therefore Archangel resolved to create a sedative to achieve their goals. The result was the fittingly named ‘Morpheus’ drug.

Morpheus can be applied in a variety of different ways. Firstly, it can be applied via a traditional syringe or other handheld medical device. Secondly, it can be applied by the Harvester or Stecher droids for massed attacks. Thirdly, tranquiliser darts can be fired containing the drug in a weaponised form. Fourth, the drug can be added to food or drink to apply the effects orally. Finally, the compound can be aerosolised and sprayed in various methods into an area.

The drug comprises several different components. First is a fast-acting sedative similar to H4b, paired with an analgesic to induce numbness. Next is a component similar to Lecepanine which acts as a paralytic and brings the victim into unconsciousness. Finally, there is a balancing neuro-muscular-blocking compound which ensures breathing and heartrate stay steady and balanced. The compound combines all of these parts making them less effective that if applied individually, but combined provide an all-in-one package.

In practice, Morpheus acts in a similar way to general anaesthetic in that it causes complete unconsciousness, loss of motor reflexes, muscular relaxation and amnesia. The goal is that the target should fall unconscious as quickly as possible for as long as possible without causing mental damage.

A standard adult human effected with this drug would almost instantly feel dizziness, disorientation and uncontrolled loss of motor reflexes. Within 1-5 minutes depending on gender, physical condition and location of injection, the victim would be rendered unconscious. Formulations exist for 18 of the most common humanoid species, usually increasing or decreasing the dose to be most effective. Some formulas, especially for non-mammalian species, contain other compounds to deal with specific resistances.

Once administered, the drug remains active for anywhere from 30 to 120 minutes, during which time it can be readministered to continue the effect, or an intravenous drip can be connected to continue the sedation.

Although all Archangel droids are programmed to estimate and apply the best dosage, in the heat of battle it is possible that under or overdoses might be applied, with the resultant negative implications.
An underdose will result in the victim still being able to move and remain conscious.
An overdose meanwhile may result in paralysis and death if they are not stabilised.

If applied to food or drink, care must be taken to mix it with strong tasting substances so that the slightly bitter taste can be masked. In these circumstances a clear liquid version of the compound is used to hide it as much as possible. When applied to consumables care must be taken with dosage so that enough is ingested before symptoms become known, but not so much that it will cause physical harm.

In all cases, the drug must be applied either with physical contact or in a confined space with an aerosol, or through poisoning of food or drink. Armour of almost any form or a filter mask in the case of the aerosol can render direct attempts to apply it futile. Further, a rapid injection of adrenaline will at least mitigate the effects, allowing for the erstwhile victim to attempt escape. Finally, certain Force techniques, either relating to breath control or resisting toxins can prevent this having its full effect.

As always in the case of player characters, the effects are entirely dependent on the character’s writer.

IRL I'm not a chemist or a doctor, but I can give you a list of the drug component types which are mixed for the effect.

I'll do this and tag you when done.
