Due to the passage of the Republic Senate's Secure & Stable Alliance Act, all relations between the Republic and other factions are being put under review by the Senate right now. Should the Republic formalize its alliances and enemies before January?

Without revealing too much. If Alliances change before the beginning of the actual event its not a big deal. The Alliances between factions are important due to something that will happen at the start of the event. So yes you should finalize alliances before the beginning of the event.
