With experience and mechanical aptitude on his side, Jand Talo has taken time to rebuild on his first lightsaber, improving on its original design. All of the previous elements are there, except this time Jand has increased the component and hilt size, to allow for double-bladed combat or Jar'Kai (two blade) combat. The weapon can be used in any of the three configurations of hilt, with each side housing an individual crystal and focusing lens.
The internal systems are more complex than most lightsabers, which include circuitry for a meditation crystal, as well as an adjustable focusing lens on each end. Each lens provides an effect to the emitted blade, depending on the setting chosen (dueling, dragite, kunda), due to hardwired settings of the plasma magnetic field. This complexity remains possible due to Jand's species, the Nagai, who have natural aptitude with complex weapon engineering - and his own experience with fabrication, such as on the Clan Talo Longsword.
It also supports his preference for lightsaber combat with a differing weight distribution by using a phobium emitter; this addition was thanks to experience using one of Jedi Master Valery Noble's own weapons on a mission alongside the Jedi Master. The result is a weapon crafted for Jand's specific needs, which allows some versatility in combat situations, while supplementing his martial prowess with any variation of hilt he uses...
