"Come on hotshot, we gotta jet. We ain't leaving you behind now!"

Shin was still a little on guard - he almost elbowed the man in the throat as he came up behind him. Shin relaxed at the words, though, recognizing him from the prisoner's common area. The stranger seemed comfortable with blasters, scooping them up with a familiarity and ease that Shin took note of. "I'll be fine. I just need a moment."

"You broke your hand?!" She exclaimed, rushing over. "But those hands are valuable! We need them to get out of here!"

"I wouldn't say I'm defenseless. I still have a fist, two elbows, two knees, two feet." Shin laughed slightly, pushing off of the stranger. He felt much of his strength coming back, and seemed much steadier. Inwardly, Shin was a little sheepish. How had he gotten so...weak? Had his time in prison really degraded his abilities so much? There was a time when he wouldn't have even broken a sweat from that amount of exertion. And breaking his hand? Master Zei Pai would have broken his other hand for such sloppiness. "I guess I'm a little out of practice. Teräs Käsi allows for incredible abilities - but also requires incredible training - prison isn't really conducive towards maintaining that."

"Alright, so. Next step in our great escape plan is getting a ship, yeah? I can fly it."

"That makes more sense than escape pods. Most pods don't have hyperdrives...and I have no idea if there's a planet nearby. I know of a place where we could lay low - Stardrift Station. They welcome all sorts of types. Even better - they don't ask many questions." Of course, he had some history with that place, but given a choice between the Drift or this prison...yeah, no contest. "Of course...the hangar probably has more guards, so..."

"Who died and made you king?" Vismaya muttered grumpily. A pilot, huh? Did escape pods need pilots? She wasn't sure. Well, either way she couldn't fly, so at least he had some use. She listened as he talked about their escape route, and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, obviously we are trying to avoid gaurds, but the maintenance corridors take longer and some get closed in emergencies. I know this place inside out. So don't think for one second that you can replace me."

"Easy, easy...no one is getting replaced. We're all getting out of here." Shin thought on the options, before cocking his head. "A middle ground. We will take Vismaya's route, but Mr...?" Shin trailed off, not knowing the man's name, "Mr. Stranger's exit plan. This seems a stronger plan."

With a loud bang, the blast doors slammed into the Durasteel floor, shutting the mess hall off from the rest of the prison.

For those lucky enough to make it out of the main gathering area, the promise of freedom was becoming clear. But this was merely an illusion. While a majority of the guards were focused on neutralizing the mess hall, a plethora of guards still manned the rest of the station. None of them were going to let these convicts escape. Unknown to the lucky few escapees, the hangar bay was slowly being filled with soldiers ready to blast the first thing that moves.

However, this was not the only way off of the station. The escape pods were left unguarded, as you had to go through the guards' quarters to make it to them. Along with them, two private hangar bays were safe to access as well, each of them holding a private officer's shuttle. But it would only be a matter of time before both of these areas would be defended by guards. So, the prisoners had to work quickly if they wanted to reach either of those points.

My apologies everyone for the long wait on my post. Life got super busy, and I didn't have time to write. Hoping to still continue this thread.

Offering a nod of approval to his acquaintance, the trooper scanned ahead for any more guards.

Fortunately, the path was clear. But he knew that would not be for long. If they wanted to get off of this station, they needed to work fast. Picking the items up from the ground, the man stood and motioned for the duo to continue. Alarms still rang throughout the halls eerily. The corridor ahead twisted and turned in ways that made it difficult to spot enemy combatants. But this is exactly the type of stuff that he was taught to deal with at the Imperial Academy.

"Let's see if we can find a control room. With that keycard, we should be able to access the panel within and locate the escape pods."

His original plan of breaking into the kitchen was no longer going to work, as the blast doors to that room had been sealed shut as well. There were also no ventilation shafts big enough in the hallway for the two of them to climb into. But this improvisation should do them just find. At least that was the hope.

Nej snapped his head to whomever the hell she thought she was. He blinked a few times, looking back at the Theelin, narrowing his eyes, mocking her voice- near perfectly. Another subtle display of Nej's actual ability- hampered only by his tendency to not be overtly smart.

"Who died and made YOU king? Hm? Hm? Hm- don't think for ONE second you can replace me!"

Nej twirled the blasters as the Guards down the hallway lined up for a perfect kill zone, about fifty meters from where they were.

"We don't take the escape pods. That's suicide- any passing patrol sucks us up with a tractor beam, or worse, some Imperial, Alliance, Republic, or whatever nerfherder out there just so happens to blast a bunch of escaped convicts out of space!"

He tapped his forehead.

"We take their ships, we take their IDs and we get out of the system before anyone can figure out who's who and who made it off the ship. This whole place is going down, and an escape pod is just sealing the deal of being killed."

Nej tapped the blasters together, turning them on full power, pressing himself against the wall.

"Control Room is a good idea. I'll clear a path."

Nej turned, pushing off of the wall, pivoting on his heel. He stood firm in the center of the hallway, advancing slowly, firing bolt after bolt at the guards. He opened with a volley above them, hitting several air and gas vents, causing a brief flash and a hiss of rushing air, along with a small stream of fire. The guards recoiled back from the distraction, but Nej quickly gunned them down.

He was a fast shot- maybe one of the galaxy's last true gunslingers, firing from the hip, and rapidly switching targets. He slid as the guards recovered and returned fire, sliding on his knees after pushing off, going towards them- firing madly at them. He stopped just shy of their makeshift checkpoint, having cleared out six in just a couple of seconds.

"Lets get moving, I got dinner plans."

"Of course...the hangar probably has more guards, so..."

"Stardrift, huh? I've never heard of it," Vismaya said, shrugging. "Some kind of smuggler's base? Well, whatever it is, I'm in if it means I get to lay low for a bit. I just hope they have some good casinos there - and some rich folks who could afford to lose a little coin."

"Who died and made YOU king? Hm? Hm? Hm- don't think for ONE second you can replace me!"

"Why you disgusting, vile, son of a sarlaac!" Vismaya hissed, so mad steam was practically coming out of her ears. Did this guy seriously think he could just roll up unannounced and mock her? Vismaya reloaded her gun, glaring daggers at the man before her. "I really ought to shoot you, you know. We were doing fine on our own, before you came along with your stupid impressions and poor fashion taste-"

Shin cut Vismaya off, leading her to slowly lower her weapon. He was the strongest member of the group, so she was willing to follow his lead. But would he be able to lead? The more he spoke, the better the image of what kind of person he was formed in her mind. It seemed like he was kind, though he pretended not to be - he chose not to replace her, even though she wasn't really needed anymore. If she'd been in his shoes, Vismaya didn't think she would have done the same. And then Shin had proposed a compromise, in order to restore peace...how strange. Vismaya wondered what kind of life he had led before prison. It probably wasn't anything like her life, where you looked out for yourself and yourself only if you wanted to make it out alive.

"We don't take the escape pods. That's suicide- any passing patrol sucks us up with a tractor beam, or worse, some Imperial, Alliance, Republic, or whatever nerfherder out there just so happens to blast a bunch of escaped convicts out of space!"

"Control Room is a good idea. I'll clear a path."

"Fine! We get it! No escape pods!" Vismaya snapped at the stranger, her anger at him still simmering below the surface. "We can go to the control room. As for IDs, I still have one from a guard I seduced. Officer access - sometimes it pays to be as pretty as I am. I don't think you could relate," she paused and gave the blond haired gunslinger a pointed look, "Anyways, the control room is on the way to the private hangar bays, where the officers keep their ships. I think we should go to one of those, personally. Those ships have actual weapons and there's less of a chance of guards being there."

"Lets get moving, I got dinner plans."

"I can't imagine with whom," Vismaya said snarkily, though she had to admit that this man's speed with his blaster was impressive. He had just cleared a whole corridor of guards. Vismaya led them through it, then down another passageway to the right, and finally up a passageway to the left before the group came upon a locked door.

"This is the control room," The Theelin announced, gesturing to the door before pulling out a ID card from her jacket. She swiped it once, and it declined with an angry beep. "Ugh, hang on - it does work, I think I just have to go slower."

Moved closer, Vismaya swiped the card more carefully this time. There was a pause, a moment of silence in which she begged the gods or the force or whatever to be on her side, before the door beeped open. Vismaya let out a sigh of relief, then quickly returned to her usual cocky demeanour. "There we go, just as I expected. After you, gentlemen."

"You know...my aunt and uncle fought all the time. It's how they met. Something to think about." As he spoke, Shin stepped over the bodies of guards. The stranger - whom Shin didn't fail to notice didn't offer his name - was a quick and accurate shot. As he walked, Shin picked up a blaster off the ground, flicking the setting to stun. In theory, his skills should translate just fine to blasters (given that blasters were linear and not ballistic, it was just a matter of hand-to-eye coordination). The truth was, Shin never liked blasters, not since...

Well, the War he supposed. They were a touch too indiscriminate, random, easy. There was something deliberate about ending a life through your own hands, something honorable that you just couldn't get in ranged combat.

"Maybe that's just an excuse; aren't I still a killer?" Said Shin aloud, under his breath.

"This is the control room," The Theelin announced, gesturing to the door before pulling out a ID card from her jacket. She swiped it once, and it declined with an angry beep. "Ugh, hang on - it does work, I think I just have to go slower."

Shin raised an eyebrow, waiting for this entire plan to go boots up.

Moved closer, Vismaya swiped the card more carefully this time. Vismaya let out a sigh of relief, then quickly returned to her usual cocky demeanour. "There we go, just as I expected. After you, gentlemen."

Shin moved into the room first, then paused as he took in the scene. It was a large hexagonal room, Imperial in style - the center was bisected by a walkway, which had submerged crew pits on either side. At the far end of the walkway, a large viewport showed an expanse of space. They seemed to be on some kind of station by the looks of it.

As one, the technicians in the crew pits, all eight of them, turned to regard the prisoners before freezing in shock, their chatter dying out. At the end of the walkway, an important looking man - perhaps the station administrator - noticed the silence in the room, and turned to look behind him. "Sound alarms! Prisoners have breached - AGH!" The man was cut off by a stun blast from Shin, which caught the man in the chest, the force of it sending him careening into the viewport behind him. With a thud, he fell to the ground, quite unconscious.

For a half-second, the technicians stared at Shin, and one began to slowly move towards his console, likely to hit an alarm. Shin clicked his blaster to kill, leveling it at the twitchy looking man. "You've got two options. You can stay here and be a hero, or you can leave and live another day. You're not guards, you don't have weapons, but so help me if you hit that alarm..." The threat hung in the air, and the twitchy tech's eyes darted between Nej, Shin, and Vismaya.

"Kriffing hell, I don't get paid enough to do this. I barely make galactic minimum man." No sooner had the twitchy man muttered that and moved away from the console, the whole group of techs practically scrambled over themselves to get out of the pits and run out of the command center.

"Alright...so..." Shin looked around at the consoles and the literal expanse of buttons, lights, view-screens, throttles, levers, and practically every other contraption imaginable. "...Anybody know what they're doing with these...things?"
