APPEARANCE:
An atypical Epicanthix with black hair and eyes, tan skin, and an athletic build owing to his species' focus on fitness - Shin is largely human in appearance, though with features that are just a tad too angular to be baseline human. Most recognize him as a near-human on sight, though few outside the Pacanth Reach recognize him as Epicanthix. -
BACKSTORY:
There isn't much known about Shin Jhicaro - what is known publicly is typically found in law enforcement databases. A troubled youth, it's known that he enlisted with the Panathan Defense Force, being dishonorably discharged shortly after the destruction of Panatha. Now, Shin wanders the stars looking for something that even he can't quite define. -

Standard spacer's attire at this time, though with a fondness for durasteel-toed combat boots, and a pair of gloves with durasteel knuckle-studs. -

One duranium bracer with an integrated bracer comp, wrist link, burst-transmission comlink. Sensor shielded, with low out-put power cells. -
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
(+) Mental Bastion:
Epicanthix possess a powerful form of subconscious mental shielding (similar to Hutts and Toydarians, though far stronger), which makes them immune to force-assisted mental tricks, influence, domination, and mind reading. This also makes Shin harder to detect through the force at a distance, as he is somewhat emotionally muted.
(+) Teräs Käsi Adept:
Shin was raised on Bunduki; when he became sick and traditional medicine failed, his family took him to the Followers of Palawa for healing. There the monks taught him Teräs Käsi and mastery of the body through willpower and discipline - Shin became highly proficient in the fighting and meditative art as a result, and is exceedingly dangerous in close combat with not only his fists, but sticks, staves, and blades. While not a master - and not claiming the near supernatural abilities Masters of the art can claim - Shin is capable of shattering standard armor with his fists, though lacks the blinding and impossible speed that Teras Kasi users can develop.
(+) Former Soldier:
Due to his stay in the Panathan Defense Forces, Shin has great familiarity with ranged and melee weaponry small and large, explosives, vehicle operations, and battlefield strategy and tactics. Primarily, Shin's expertise is as a jump-trooper, which were used as advanced shock-troopers to be dropped onto the frontlines.

(-) Cataclysmic Survivor:
Shin is one of several thousand off-world Epicanthix who survived the annihilation of Panatha. The death of his family, culture, and very way of life has left an indelible mark on him. Primarily a justifiable hatred of force-users light and dark, an innate distrust and sneering smugness at the ineptitude of organized government, and open mockery for the empty platitudes and hollow gestures of idealists.
(-) Brash:
At this stage in his life, Shin lacks the restraint, wisdom, and control that comes with clarity of purpose and vision. This brashness is one of the primary reasons he wasn't able to advance further in the Teräs Käsi arts, and can lead to shortcomings when in combat as unnecessary risks are taken.
(-) Stubborn:
Like a bull determined to break through a cement wall, Shin is equally motivated to bang his head against whatever problem stands in his way. Once he sets his mind, it takes a lot for Shin to change his mind, for better or for worse.
