ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Designed to be an improvement over the Aevis Interceptor, Glycon Interceptors is equipped with multiple Valefor Laser Cannons, including a dorsal mounted turret, and expanded ordnance launchers. The enhanced weaponry gives Glycon interceptors outsized capabilities in terms of offensive potential against enemy small craft, especially with the ability of the pilot to switch between different loadouts for their laser cannons and link their fire as needed.
  • While not as fast as the Aevis Interceptor, Glycon Interceptors still have incredibly high speeds and Aurora engineers ensured it has improved maneuverability over their predecessor interceptor due to the inclusion of an oversized Phoenix Ion Engine and two smaller ancillary engines.
  • Each Glycon Interceptor is equipped with a Syldra Communications Suite, allowing it to be connected into a telepathic network for nigh undetectable and jammable transmissions or standard communications and encryption systems for compatibility with other communications technology.
WEAKNESSES
  • Designed as a light interceptor, the Glycon has fairly low defensive armor and shielding with a single-layered titanium hull and a simple deflector shield, forcing it to rely upon its speed and maneuverability to avoid being destroyed. If an enemy fighter or anti-starfighter ship targets the Glycon and overcomes its speed advantage, they can be easily destroyed.
  • If the Ramuh-II power core's preservation field capsule fails or the device is sabotaged, the crystal within sublimated immediately into its plasma state, reducing the power output of the device by roughly half until a new crystal capsule is installed. This applies to the fighter's main power generator and the smaller cores that separately power each weapon system.
  • If the molecular furnaces within the Phoenix Ion Engines become damaged or are sabotaged, they can cause a chain reaction that will consume the engine and significantly reduce the fighter's speed and maneuverability.
  • If a Syldra's internal Seoularian crystal is shattered, it cannot connect to the telepathic network until a new crystal is installed and attuned to the key and anchor crystals that system needs to be connected to. In addition, telepathic messages sent through the network cannot be received by any other system except another Syldra, potentially limiting the capabilities of this feature
DESCRIPTION

Developed as part of Aurora Industries' Highwind Program within its Strahl Subproject, the ISI-2 Glycon Interceptors are designed to be the next iteration of the Aevis Interceptor. Like their predecessor, Glycon Interceptors are hard-hitting and swift starfighters, boasting incredibly firepower and speed and maneuvering capabilities. While they have not truly improved upon the defenses of the previous fighter, only using a single layer of titanium as armored hull plating and a simple deflector shield, the company decided the trade off was acceptable for the other capabilities for the fighter.

Glycon Interceptors are equipped with four single Valefor Laser Cannons, improving upon the firepower potential of the original interceptor, along with a dorsal mounted rotatable dual Valefor Laser Cannon turret for even more firepower and the ability to deal with enemy fighter craft that might drop down behind them. The engineers at the company also installed two variable ordnance launchers with six missile magazines each for even further combat potential in dealing with opposing fighter craft and starships.

The main feature of the Glycon is the oversized central Phoenix Ion Engine, along with its two smaller ancillary engines. The engineers limited the speeds from the previous Aevis, although the fighter is still able to easily outpace most other small craft, as they wanted to ensure the craft had increased maneuverability over the previous interceptor from the company. These engines, in addition to the Madeen Shiftdrive, make the Glycon exceptionally good at hit-and-run tactics during combat scenarios and with a Syldra Communications Suite to ensure secure orders, they can be a terror on any battlefield in the galaxy.
