  • AR-0B Damage Reduction Armor Component - Maintaining a continuous ablative current running through its armor plating; the system assists in removing particles and other corrosive substances to assist in minimizing hull damage. The system therefore also ensures the longevity of the vessel's hull plating for the duration of its foreseeable operation.

  • GalaxyGuard Mk VII - Developed by BvK Fleet Systems, the GalaxyGuard is a shield booster that assists in providing additional endurance and range to a vessel's Deflector Shield Generator. It is possible for multiple such systems to be working in concert to increase this effect; however, the Interdictor III Cruiser is only carrying one such device.

  • Shipboard Tracking Control Complex - Commonly known as a 'Hyperspace Tracker' and originally developed during the reign of Palpatine's Galactic Empire; the system is often utilized to track vessels through Hyperspace. Coupled with its Hyperwave Signal Interceptor, the vessel utilizes these systems to better predict when and where a vessel will exit hyperspace in order to deploy its following strength.

  • Gravity Well Projectors - Equipped with (4) G7-x Gravity Well Projectors, the Interdictor III Cruiser is capable of producing Interdiction Fields to entrap vessels and prevent them from fleeing into Hyperspace, or, dragging them from Hyperspace back into Realspace.

  • Split Section Design - Like many of the other vessels in this line - and its larger Interdiction III Star Destroyer cousin - the Interdictor Cruiser retains the unique split section between a Dorsal and Ventral Superstructure. While the Interdictor III Cruiser is much more well-defended than the Interdictor II Cruiser, sustained firepower or damage to these sections still have the potential of shearing the Superstructure off of the vessel itself.

  • Time - It takes time to power up the Gravity Well Projectors and to fully establish an Interdiction Field; while most larger and often slower vessels would be hard-pressed to escape the area or jump to Hyperspace before the Interdictor III Cruiser has its Gravity Well Projectors in full operation. Smaller and more agile vessels are more than capable of utilizing their sunlight engines to reach the edge of the Interdiction Field and escape into Hyperspace.

  • Energy Drain - When the vessel is utilizing its Gravity Well Projectors, the devices draw power from all aspects of the vessel. This often causes the shield systems and weapon systems to operate at less than optimal levels. This can also be utilized against the vessel if it were to come under direct fire, as it would force the commander to choose between keeping a vessel captive or the safety of the vessel and its crew.

  • Debris Collector - Often an undesired Side Effect of utilizing the Gravity Well Projectors; stellar debris are often drawn towards the area that an Interdiction Field is established in. While larger pieces of debris are often removed by the Gunners, smaller debris often causes problems and damage to the vessel; adding to the maintenance cost to operate an Interdictor III Cruiser.

  • HIMS - The Hyperwave Inertial Momentum Sustainer; a device that sustains the forward momentum of a vessel in hyperspace by establishing and containing a bubble of Hyperspace around the vessel. These devices allow a vessel to defeat Interdiction Fields, often capable of bypassing the Mass Shadows that are generated by the Gravity Well Projectors, in effect defeating the role of the Interdictor III Cruiser. However, it should be noted, that this system doesn't permit a vessel to in Realspace to escape into Hyperspace when already in the effect of an Interdiction Field.

Larger than its Interdictor II predecessor vessel, though smaller than the Star Destroyer variant, the Interdictor III Cruiser shares similar capabilities and profiles as its larger Star Destroyer design. While larger than the older Interdictor II series, it's half the size of the Star Destroyer variant, settling it in the role of a Heavy Cruiser - with the starfighter capacity, armaments, and defensive capabilities to retain that title. Its vast array of armaments permits the vessel to stand on equal footing with many vessels in ship-to-ship combat, retaining a focus on armaments and defensive capabilities; while also capable of unleashing a handful of Starfighter squadrons to assist in targeting or screening against enemy Starfighters and smaller, more agile vessels such as Corvettes. Its hull is comprised of a Carbon-Durasteel Armor, supplemented with the AR-0B Damage Reduction Armor Component which maintains an ablative current in the hull to assist in the removal of debris and harmful substances that may have built-up, on the hull during an engagement. Its primary tactic is utilizing its Shipboard Tracking Control Complex, coupled with its Hyperwave Signal Interceptor to better predict and track a vessel moving through Hyperspace, specifically where they will be emerging, as to better ascertain the best position to establish its Interdiction Fields with its Gravity Well Projectors. However, this system and tactic can be overcome if the vessel in question is utilizing a HIMS system which would permit the vessel to remain in Hyperspace and continue through the established Interdiction Field.

Retaining the design aesthetic of other Interdictor vessels; the Interdictor III Cruiser carries the split Dorsal and Ventral Superstructure that is a hallmark of the vessel. Unlike its preceding vessel designs, the Interdictor III is much more well-defended; however, sustained damage or concentrated fire has the potential to see the superstructure shorn off of the vessel - thus rending the vessel incapable of continued action, or force the vessel to be scuttled. While not as pricey as the Star Destroyer variant to field or maintain, the Interdictor III still has a hefty price tag associated with the vessel; which is often increased due to the damage from stellar debris that the Gravity Well Projectors have a tendency of attracting. While larger pieces of said debris are often removed by the gunnery crews before they can reach the vessel, smaller debris still impacts or present a danger to the vessel's hull.

Likewise, the energy requirements of operating the Gravity Well Projectors see the device draining energy from other systems - which in turn causes the vessel's shields and weapon systems to operate below optimal levels. In certain instances, this can be used against the vessel, specifically if under a sustained attack from an enemy vessel; which would force the captain of the vessel to choose between either keeping a vessel captive or putting the safety of the Interdictor and its crew first. To better assist the vessel in tracking and firing on smaller, more agile moving vessels such as Corvettes and small Frigates; the Interdictor III Cruiser is equipped with a Quad-Laser Auto Tracking Firing Control system. This system allows for automated firing of the weapon rather than manual firing, with the system itself often utilized in conjunction with the vessel's more defensive weaponry - such as Point Defense Cannons and Deck Cannons - to provide a defensive screen against smaller vessels and Starfighters. Furthermore, the crew often utilizes the vessel's Proximity Sensors, specifically those that detect Gravity Fields (often a sign of a Mass Shadow), to better place their Interdiction Fields. Outfitted with multiple Heavy Ion Cannons, the vessel will often attempt to utilize these weapons on a ship just pulled from Hyperspace - and once the vessel is disabled, the Interdictor III will often activate its suite of Tractor Beam Projectors to drag the disabled ship to its hanger - size permitting - or hold the ship in place while a boarding party is dispatched.

Internally the vessel is protected by a series of Blast Doors and Holocams, meant to aid security personnel in apprehending individuals that are not meant to be on the vessel or may have managed to board the vessel during an engagement. These security features also include Force Fields and Ray Shielding to assist in capturing individuals, as well as Walkthrough Identification Scanners utilized to prevent droids from accessing areas of the vessel they are unauthorized to enter. Klaxon alarms to alert nearby personnel of an emergency in the area, as well as code cylinder readers, add an additional level of security by preventing unauthorized personnel access to specific areas of the vessel. Communication Systems on the vessel also ensure that it is capable of transmitting and receiving messages via hyperspace as well as subspace, while a Telesponder broadcasts the vessel's IFF to nearby ships.

Additional systems of the vessel include the GalaxyGuard Mk VII, which is utilized to boost the strength and range of the Deflector Shields. A Hyperwave Signal Interceptor, utilized to read the telltale fluctuations of vessels entering and leaving Hyperspace - with the sensor being utilized in conjunction with the Shipboard Tracking Control Complex to better predict and track a vessel through Hyperspace. There are those systems in place to assist in reducing or otherwise negating Stellar Radiation and its effects on the crew; such systems being the Trans-Binary Deflector and Radiation Negator. An integrated Holographic Tactical Display, located on the bridge, also assists in better coordinating and observing the ever-shifting lines and formations of engagement, and a series of Blackout Lights; an emergency lighting system that draws so little power, that they're difficult to detect on sensors.

Though smaller than the Interdictor III Star Destroyer, this Cruiser variant is often fielded alongside the larger vessels to provide a defensive screen, with its focus set on engaging Cruisers and Frigates, thus leaving the Star Destroyer variant free to engage larger vessels.
