Grand Inquisitor of the EOTL
Lianna, Tion Cluster, Outer Rim Territories.
Hotel Chevalier
A pleasant breeze blew through the air on the balcony of the Hotel Chevalier on Lianna, smelling faintly of the roses planted throughout the hotel’s exterior as a woman in a black Moff uniform gazed out at the ecumenopolis, reflecting on the great height between her and the streets below. In many ways, it symbolized how far she had come in the past 25 years after the fall of the Elysium Empire and her abandonment by the treacherous Valhoun and Arenais families, who had retreated back to their wealthy worlds and homes leaving everyone else involved in their empire project to scramble for shelter and funding.
A gloved hand gripped the railings for a moment.
No matter, that was a long time ago now. No longer was she a mercenary scrambling for any jobs or work she could find. Now, she had a purpose. To create a place for her and her children, and the children of many others in the Outer Rim, to grow up safely and with order. Free of the degeneracy and hypocrisy of the Galactic Alliance, free from Mawites, pirates, and slavers, and a place where one could rise through merit to the highest ranks of power, rather than bowing and scraping to feckless and useless nobles.
“Ma’am, the party is about to begin.” Her aide, a bright, young blonde-haired woman named Neeja, intoned.
“I will be there shortly, thank you Neeja.”
Today was an important day. Imperials had been invited from across both the Empire of the Lost and from the other Imperial remnant factions to socialize and discuss their various plans for the future, as well as make crucial Imperial connections that could help benefit them in the future. There were rumors that there could even be discussions about possibly unifying some of these disparate forces into a single Empire, although that was almost surely just speculation at this stage. Although she was not a fan of the uniform she wore, preferring more loosely fitting and comfortable robes, she knew it was important to maintain appearances and aesthetics here, and for her and her son to deepen their relationships with several of those invited.
And remember, you could always fall back down to those streets, if you are not careful. It is time to make friends here, and discuss future plans. The Sith and the Galactic Alliance are slowly but surely expanding in the region, and it will be crucial to have allies to force them back when the time comes.
With that thought, she took a deep breath, grabbed her datapad, and headed into the rather glamorous (and extremely heavily guarded) hotel.
