Behold, a new era for Rinn.

The frozen world, once forgotten, now lies at the center of a new crisis. Again, the planet's power supply dwindles. The ancient technology that keeps the populace warm and alive is failing. A new call for aid has been sent out, but the respondents this time will not be rebels. Instead, the Republic has heard the call for aid and comes to render assistance. A fleet of supplies and the people to make things work head to the world as swiftly as possible.

But is all as it seems? Or are sinister forces afoot?

Visit the main city of Rinn. With the power dwindling, some people are beginning to suffer worse than others. Hypothermia and other cold-resistant diseases are starting to spread as people seek the comfort of each other for warmth. Render aid to people in need.

To replace the planets reliance on fuel cells, help construct a new wind energy farm and a solar energy farm on the planets surface. These two sustainable sources of energy should provide the energy they need to survive indefinitely, barring the regular need for maintenance. Help the locals to understand how this technology runs.

The fuel cells used to provide power for the people of Rinn have clearly been tampered with. The culprit is a loose organization of Imperial sympathizers who were concerned about the Republic's advances. They had hoped the distress signal would be answered first by the Empire, and are now hiding among the populace, waiting to strike at Republic Operatives. Find them and destroy the Imperial cell.

Objective 2: Build a Energy Planet for the Planet and Open Trade Ports

Jaster had never heard of the planet the senate sent him to. In truth, it was a backwater stop in the middle of nowhere, and as such had little value to him or his company or even his army. He had left the control of the Army to his Attendant Twoozer, they were still reading for a larger Invasion. This planet was already secure, as such the might of the Republic Army was not needed, even the Fleets of Tylane were not showing in full force. He did hear of smaller detail of Intelligence Agents were heading to the planet, but he was here on behalf of his company. The UTC picked up a recent contract for a Terraforming Project, as such Ice and Water were somewhat of a hot seller. Not only for their properties in the use of water, but also was a base element that could be used to create other elements needed in a planets atmosphere. Mining the near by gas planets for fuel and other projects were also useful to him. The UTC picked up the contract on cheap off the Republic Senate, seeing the planet as a long term investment that would pay off in the end.

"Sir," One of the younger UTC Officers walked up to him. The Company Protection Uniforms were of simple style, like that of the Republic Navy, however they had a darker tent of red, and a greyer black. "The rest of the Supply Convoy caught a snag on Nar Shaada, they will be arriving late, we still have the supplies to lay the ground work however."

Jaster was worries that with how the Criminal Worlds were making it more and more difficult to get his supplies to the Republic. Most of his raw goods were coming from the Unknown Region, crossing the whole of the galaxy to get to the Republic. However, he could not worry about this now. "Understood Ensign, Inform the Republic Relief Force, that the UTC is ready to bring down supplies for the construction project."

Location: Landing on planet surface with Republic Relief Force
Objective 1: Distribute supplies and upgrade/repair power supply infrastructure

Belizarius had come along to help the local population, this was not a role given to him by the Jedi but he had volunteered for it when the Republic was looking for people to help out with the mission. His experience as a general handyman and basic engineering knowledge could come in useful when trying to integrate the new power supply with the existing network which by what he could tell was ancient in some places and might need to be worked on to improve it any further.

He hadn't brought his own personal ship for this mission since it wouldn't handle the environmental conditions particularly well. He was currently on one of the transport vessels with the republic relief force, joining him was a team of other volunteers whose job was to give needed supplies to the local population while they also went about upgrading the system and building the energy plant. He was wearing his Jedi Robes typical of a Jedi Shadow but he was smart enough to wear a thick wool cloak over all of this since he knew how cold it would probably get on the surface, he also had a scarf on that could be brought up to cover the lower part of his face. He had been cold and miserable before, he wasn't planning to be unprepared.

He knew the importance of bringing worlds into the Republic but as the transport ship went towards the surface, it became obvious that this would be an extremely uncomfortable mission.

Objective: Investigate the tampering of fuel cells

Home. The glimmering white jewel of the edge of the galaxy. It had been so long since he’d visited. Ever since he’d left to start his Jedi journey, he’d only been back a few times, and not very long, mostly just to see his parents. Now that the Republic Remnant was going to absorb his homeworld, however, and because of his growing role in said Republic, he could see himself here much more often.

As he broke the atmosphere and began to see the first white-capped mountains and glaciers, it was almost as if he could feel the temperature drop. It was welcome – he was used to the cold, and he’d found Kashyyyk to be a little more humid on some days. Instantly, he was taken back to the old training missions when he’d first learned to fly a starfighter. Memories he cherished, ones that helped shape him into the person he was today.

Despite being here covertly on official Republic business, it was actually his father and mother that had reached out to him first. As the heads of engineering for the colony, they had concerns that someone was tampering with the fuel cells. They knew that their son would help them, not just because he was a Jedi. He also had the uncommon ability of psychometry, so he was very adept at investigations. There was no hesitation from the young Jedi – he packed up his YT-1000 light freighter, the Stardust Melody, and set course for home.

“Tee-Four, go ahead and open a comm line to Colony 1138,” Cassius said to his K-X series droid companion, the security-turned medical droid T-4D4. The droid did as told, and the indicator light went from orange to green. Connection established. “Colony 1138, this is Cassius Droma of the Stardust Melody. Requesting permission to land.”

The voice that immediately came back was enthusiastic.“Copy that, Stardust. You are cleared for landing at hangar bay one, section five. Welcome home, Cassius." Cassius grinned. On the other end was a flight controller he knew very well – it was good just to hear his voice. As instructed, Cassius started piloting towards the colony.

The colony itself was embedded in a large mountain, the only structures visible being three large hangar bays. Each had their own purpose – one was just for the residents’ personal vessels, small freighters and starfighters included. Another was for commercial use by the residents, as this was where larger ships and transports were. The third was for off-worlders and travelers who came to trade or do other business. Another, smaller hangar bay was centered above the others. This was for the colony’s defense forces, including the Rinn Starfighter Corps, of which Cassius had been a leader of a flight. He made a mental note to visit before he inevitably had to leave to continue his Jedi training.

The Stardust Melody eased into the hangar like smooth butter, the excitement growing in its pilot as he was taxied to his specific section and settled down. Exterior vents hissed and landing gears locked in place. He was home.

Coming down the ramp, T-4D4 behind him, Cassius set foot on the ground he was raised on. A small group of people had gathered to welcome him back, including his parents and old pilot buddies from the starfighter corps. Smiles, handshakes, hugs… Cassius was glad that he was from a place he could be proud of, a place he could always come back to. Separate from any other major cities or developments on Rinn, this colony was a more isolated place, meant for those who wanted a closer-knit community.

His parents were still in their engineering jumpsuits. In their early fifties, they were both fit and didn’t show too many signs of aging. His father had grey on his temples that made him look more distinguished than anything, and his mother had wrinkles that weren’t anything to be ashamed of.

“Hey bud,” his father greeted him, first with a handshake, but quickly pulling him in for an embrace. After another hug from his mother, his father continued. “Good to have you back.”

“Good to be back,” Cassius smiled, clapping him on the shoulder. Then he said in a lower voice, “I think we should get down to business, though.” His father nodded solemnly.

“Let’s get some lunch on the promenade and we’ll talk,” his mother said. After telling the rest of his friends that he’d catch up with them later, he walked with his parents towards the hangar bay’s exit. T-4D4 trailed behind, his servos whirring as he kept his head on a swivel.

Kian scanned the edges of the colony, looking out into the blistering cold around him. He had spent some time on planets covered in ice, but he had never really enjoyed the experience. Dorin, his homeworld, was not a temperate planet, but it did not experience weather such as this. Pulling his winter gear tighter around him, Kian turned and headed back into the colony. He had arrived a day earlier via a shuttle, forgoing coming in his ship The Katarn. While certainly ideal for many things, the Sebatyne-Class Jedi Corvette were easily identifiable as the vessel of a Jedi and Kian was flying under the radar for this particular job.

Truth be told, it felt good to get out into the field. Kian was getting old, at least for a Kel Dor, and his days were often now spent overseeing the Jedi Academy on Nadiem. It would benefit him to exercise the skills he'd honed over the almost 4 decades of his service to the Jedi. Pushing his hands into his pockets, Kian felt the cold lightsaber hilt that was just inside his coat, accessible through an opening within the pocket. His cover would be blown if that weapon were to be seen.

"Mr. Te'el." said a voice and Kian looked up to see the burly man standing before him. He was a human with a thick black-gray beard and a large round belly. The man's jolly face, while covered partially by a hood, was clearly red and wind burnt. "Are you ready to proceed to the storage facility?"

"Of course Mr. Samwell." Kian said while exaggerating a shiver. "Hopefully it is warmer there."

"Of course, sir." Max Samwell said smiling. "The storage facility is of course heated and should you decide to do business with the government of Rinn, it is the perfect place for your goods to be stored." Samwell said, his voice confident and smooth as he continued the sales pitch on the planet that he had been attempting since Kian set down at the colony.

"Really?" Kian said getting into the speeder. "I'd heard there was damage to fuel cells that were being stored there." For all of Samwell's training, Kian detected the small shift in the man's posture that indicated that he had been taken by surprise by the statement. "Is this not so?"

"Uhh, there was damage to the fuel cells being stored." Samwell said, "I'm afraid as it is an open investigation I really can not say more on the details of the incident. However, I assure you that the damage to the fuel cells was a fluke...." As Samwell continued on with the statement, Kian pulled his hood tighter and stretched out with the force as they made their way to what Kian assumed would be the scene of a crime.

BYOO: Investigate A Murder

Of all the things Cedric was, an investigator he was not.

Yes, he did have a deductive eye when it was required of him, but it wasn't the sort of work he specialized in. It was for that very reason that he had forced the hanger bay containing the senator's ship closed to the public. Very few knew that fledgling Senator Rork was even on Rinn, let alone that he'd been murdered.

Every man was interrogated. Every lead was followed. Over a period of five hours, Cedric did everything he possibly could to investigate the young senator's death. Nothing particular had seemed amiss, save for the senator's means of death - a sudden heart attack that seemed to have no logical trigger. Rork had been a particularly healthy individual; Cedric suspected foul play. He had full confidence that he could solve the issue on his own had he the time, but things were still amiss on Rinn.

So it was that he awaited the arrival of [member="Callum Calahad"], a private investigator called in under the table to discern just what might have ended the senator's life. He made sure to stand alone in the hanger bay, the entirety of the facility's personnel having been gathered up in the main lobby.

BYOO: Investigate a murder

The call had been unexpected.

Callum still wasn't used to being so out in the open, since most of his career had been set in the sunless depths of Coruscant's sublevels. Nevertheless, he had been hired by an anonymous individual to investigate a murder on Rinn, one that was apparently of the utmost importance. So when Callum arrived on the planet, he made sure to look into what was going on there. The Republic Remnant seemed to be conducting some kind of mercy mission, with ships dropping off supplies across the planet. Things must've been bad here, no wonder there had been a murder of an VIP.

Callum made his way to the given meet point, a hanger bay that had recently been allotted to Senetor Rork, according to the records given to him by the contact. Upon approaching the hanger, Callum noticed the odd number of guards surrounding the hanger bay, yet know seemed to enter or leave. Some kind of lockdown? Maybe things were worse than expected. At the door, Callum showed his identification to a guard who seemed oddly fascinated with his weapon. Once inside, Callum headed towards the lone man standing in the hanger bay.

"So, I assume you're the one who called me here?" Callum said, removing a cigarette from his suit jacket and lighting it.

"You'd be assuming correctly." Cedric offered the man an open hand. He wasn't wearing his mask, and so his features were plain for the investigator to see. The knight was young, likely in his mid twenties, but his visage was marred by cracked scars that ran down his flesh in deep canyons. Blue eyes stared into the investigator's own, searching for even the slightest hint of anything but honest intentions.

"You know you're not supposed to smoke in here," the knight continued as he gestured back toward the greater facility. "Not that I intend to tell on you. My name is Cedric Grayson, I of course already know you Mister Calahad." The smile he wore was anything but genuine. It was the sort worn by politicians when they spouted lies to the masses.

"We've a very delicate situation Mister Calahad; one I would prefer remains quiet until it is solved. You'll only be paid so long as you work discreetly. Do you agree?"

Callum met Grayson's open hand with his own, grasping it firmly. The smoke from the cigarette climbed high into the air as he exhaled, before he smiled back at his employer. He had thought he'd be meeting with the senator, but obviously this man was anything other than a politician. The scars on his face showed his occupation as a fighter, likely one of great prowess. Luckily, Callum was here to investigated, not start a fight.

"Don't worry, I pride myself on being discreet in my dealings. What is the situation? I guess it has something to do with the lack of guards and senators in this hanger." Callum took another drag of his cigarette, blowing the smoke up towards the ceiling. This case would be interesting, he could tell.

Well, at least he was perceptive.

Cedric waved Callum one as he led him further into the hanger. They passed a grouping of vessels that looked as if they'd been abandoned mid-repair, but not a soul was in sight. "Something like that. The young senator Rork is no longer with us investigator, and I highly doubt it was due to natural causes. Rork has been working to bring Rinn into the Republic for years. His death will set us back months, unless we can figure out just who did it. If we have someone top put this on, we can at least use it to better unite the people here."

The lobby was lined with soldiers in black body armor. Each was masked, and not one spoke. In the center of the room were a myriad of Wookies, Gammoreans, and Humans. "These are our suspects: mostly dock workers, but these two were passing through on their own accord."

Cedric gestured toward two older looking Wookies. Neither of the aliens seemed to pay him any mind.

"The body is in the back room. His heart stopped, though we have no idea why. Doctor says it doesn't seem to be natural, figures it's a poison we don't know about. You want to take a look?"

Jaster had launched the landing craft and the construction bots to get the job done. A new reactor was what was really needed and so Jaster was commissioned by the Republic Senate to get such a thing done. However, the Republic needed to set up a outpost for the military as well as the construction workers to work out of the freezing winter. "Damn you mother nature."

The tall Mandalorain had landed on the planet and was getting the ground work ready. He was currently standing over a fallen flying construction droid that had frozen over and fallen from the sky. This project would take longer then he had expected, as such the world would need to get their new power cells while he and his men worked harder to get the plant working. One of the construction workers walked up to him, "Sir the locals in the area have asked that we allow them to take refuge in the Outpost, their settlement is on the brink of failing on its power cell."

The old man did not want the locals to mingle with the Republic Soldiers as it could cause troubles if any were Imperial Sympathizers. Yet, he could not turn them away. "I guess since we wont have the generator in place, we can have some locals set up some camps and share our reserve energy, lets just hope we wont need it."

Callum glanced over the group of suspects. The fact that two of them were apparently passing through the area was worthy of note, but apart from that he'd need a closer investigation before he could formulate any kind of criminal file.

"That would be helpful... tell me, where was the body found exactly? Assuming that the suspect is someone from outside the hanger, likelihood is they would've entered relatively near to the senator, less chance of being seen. Also, I'll need access to the security feed both in and directly outside the hanger." All of his requests were standard, or as standard as they could be considering the circumstances.

[member="Cedric Grayson"]

The wookies were not very pleasant people. Cedric observed them curiously, though neither made any move to acknowledge him. He almost didn't hear the investigator. "You've full access to the cams, and whatever recordings you might need. No one will bother you about that."

Cedric gestured toward the terminal the PI could use. "As for the body, it was found just outside of the senator's personal shuttle at the end of the hanger bay. Everyone nearby was either aboard the shuttle at the time, or working on one of the nearby vessels. The Wookies claim to have been cutting through to get to their own vessel - an unmarked ship at the other end of the hanger. We've no way of confirming if it's theirs or not."

Cedric would then lead the man over toward the senator's shuttle. There a hologram of the body in the exact state it had been found was flickering. The man was a youthful human, likely in his mid-twenties with a shaved scalp and patrician features. The hologram made his skin look deathly pale, though that might have simply been a trick of the light.

"Not a very showy death."

Belizarius and the team of Republic volunteers that he was assisting were currently offering what they could to the local population, from small heaters that had their own internal power source to blankets. They were currently stationed in a large hall with people crowding to try and keep themselves warm. they were doing anything to try and keep the local population in Rinn warm until a more permanent solution could be found. problem is people naturally wanted the heaters over the blankets and this soon broke out into fighting as people were simply trying to take them from one-another.

"They're going to tear themselves into pieces" said Juta, a Republic volunteer from Cioma next to him. He was older than Belizarius but looked liked he spent most of his life not quite used to the harshness. Probably a spoiled high class boy doing his bit for the little man. Belizarius though had to push those thoughts aside because for starters he was the son of a Tarisian merchant family and he had no right to complain about somebody coming from a rich background. Also at the same time this situation had to resolve itself and fast.

"Fan out, we only gave away a few heaters. We need to set them up in a way to keep everybody as happy as possible" he heard over a comlink that a workers outpost had been constructed but even if they let some people camp most people are going to still be holed up in the city. He tried to use a portable generator to at least give this building the power it needed for it's heating but then what he feared was a reality, the circuits just weren't compatible in these older buildings.

He also had another more secret motive, this enclosed space with a few heaters.... was a prime target for an Imperial agent to show themselves. He wasn't particularly hiding his Jedi identity and for good reason. He wanted an agent to be stupid enough to think he had some authority here. He was trying to place himself in the middle of a hornets rest and hoping his Jedi training will cover the rest.

"Indeed, the killer obviously wasn't trying to make a statement with the death, would've been messier and more public if they had. Given his status however, it's unlikely the kill was accidental... You said poison? Are there any theories on the origin?" Callum asked as he crotched next to the hologram of the body. No visible markings, so a poison blade was out of the question, though something thinner could've been used. In his mind he'd already questioned the likelihood of the Wookies being involved, there kind wasn't exactly know for being subtle after all. No doubt what they were doing was suspicious, and their alibi wasn't exactly convincing, so they couldn't be ruled out just yet.

"I'll need any records of the ship the wookies spoke of, and a time stamp for the death. Keep the area on lockdown for now, I'll need to have a look around before we start bringing people in for interrogation." Callum tapped his cigarette, the smoldering end breaking onto the floor. Whatever was happening could be related to the humanitarian mission, the timing was too perfect for it to be a coincidence.

Azreth Vandic

Dead Man's Captain
Objective: 3rd slice of Pizza
Tracking down the Imperial Sympathizers

Rinn was cold, and arid, forgotten by time, and never even known by Azreth. On the shuttle to the the planet, Azreth sat with other misfits of the Republic Remnant's hired mercenary looking to do some good for the galaxy. At the moment, Azreth was just a private, nothing special, but he was a member of the Republic Army. The briefing was short, find the Imperial supporters, arrest or eliminate them. Arrest wasn't his go option, the man was here for blood.

"Remember, they look like average citizens, do not just start open firing on suspects without proof they are Imperial sympathizers." A voice spoke through the comms.

One of the mercs looked over at Azreth with a grin on his face: "They think we're stupid or something?" He asked.

Shaking his head and keeping quiet, Azreth leaned back in his chair. No comment was needed to answer his question, of course they did.

Normally Cedric would not have responded well to being given orders, but this was a special case. He listened to Callum's words with reserved interest, nodding and mumbling his agreements whenever he deemed it appropriate. "Nothing as of yet. This world is a bit of a backwater - their records are a bit incomplete on substances, to say the least." The knight's brow furrowed. "That being said, I suspect it was something off world. Something subtle, assuming it was truly a poison."

A few words were mumbled so an assistant. She took off at a brisk pace.

"You'll have your records. I've attempted to probe the minds of those present for the truth. Mot seem innocent, but there are techniques to block a force sensitives mental intrusions. They think of something else so vehemently that I can only perceive that single thought. Both of the wookies seemed to be practicing a similar technique, but it's not something I can prove."

He paused, "Time of death was nine-oh-three in the morning. We won't be able to be sure as to whether or not a poison was involved until we get an autopsy, but Rin can't afford to wait that long."

"Then we'll get to work right away." Callum said, rising to his feet. Jedi seemed to think that using the force could get you every answer in the galaxy, but that was only half true. As Grayson had said, there were techniques to blocking mind tricks, and some creatures were completely immune to force powers all together. Luckily, Callum didn't rely on the force at all.

"I'll need to talk to whoever found the body first. Is there any office I can set myself up in?" He asked, looking over to the group of suspects. From where he stood, they looked almost like caged animals, the wookies being the main attraction. If they truly were cutting through the hanger to get to their ship, why? The ship being unmarked was odd enough, but the fact that it was parked in the same hanger as the senator's was suspicious. Looking round the rest of the hanger, Callum could tell that it wouldn't have been the ideal place for a hit, far too open, unless the killer was a master of stealth, with or without the force.

[member="Cedric Grayson"]

It all was truly suspicious.

The openness of the death was odd. An assassin would have almost assuredly been seen, yet nothing of note had been caught on the cams, so far as Cedric could tell. Then there was the matter of the wookies and their apparent stupidity. If they had carried out a hit on the senator, then parking in the exact same hanger was a bit...ignorant. No, Cedric's intuition told him that it ws not the wookies, though he suspected their involvement in other matters. Perhaps they had not killed the senator, but he suspected that they might have been on the killers payroll.

Probably as bait, come to think of it.

"I'll get a space cleared for you at dockmaster's offices. There should be more than enough to find one to accommodate you," Cedric mused. "A Twi'lek mechanic came across the body. I'll have him brought in. I will leave all of the questioning to you investigator - I only wish to read the man's presence within the force when you talk to him."

The knight gestured up a nearby stairwell. "The offices are that way. Shall we?"

Location: Rinn, Supplies Shelter
Objective: One, distribute supplies to the local people

"This is starting to look dire."

Usually, the planet's population was forever worrying just where their next meal was going to becoming from, or indeed whether or not the radiators would stop working. Today was one of those days, and government officials and permanent relief workers were used to having large crowds gather at local emergency relief centers. Certainly, individuals and their companions such as [member="Belizarius Krusi"] from around the galaxy could come and help, but the local governing bodies had already tried to tackle the problems.

But there was no permanent solution, and with the crowd growing to larger than they had ever seen before, cutbacks had to be made on who could receive the supplies.

"Indeed, we're going to need to think about restricting who can access what little we have."

Junior Minister Téa and the Secretary of State for the Department of Social Affairs were standing behind some rough shacks that had been set up as apart of the initiative. Various busy bodies went about shoving boxes onto prop-up counters. The distribution shelter actually used to be a former marketplace, hence the rather casual look for the stalls; that was something they wanted changed, replacing them with more sturdy durasteel stands though the budget that could be allocated towards this project was limited to say the least.

"Well..." she moved for her policy folder opening it and reading over some previously discussed agreements, "I believe we could implement a disadvantaged-first policy, I have written down that this would apply to anybody over the age of 70 or younger than 18."

The two sounded like robots with little to no care for those they were discussing. The truth is, they did care. They thought the idea that the government had to ration supplies to those who could not afford it was simply ludicrous, and the energy crisis had to be solved fast. By now, most crops had been devastated with practically everything edible coming off-world. While most could afford the exports, the various supermarkets had stopped accepting food stamps, thus leaving those in the most worrisome of positions with no alternative.

Until now that is.

"Very well."
