Humbarine Election [New Republic] [Invite]

Humbarine Election
coruscant-sunset2.jpg
The ecumenopolis of Humbarine was set for an election of a brand new senator to represent the planet on the fledgling Senate of the New Republic. The previous representative of the planet- Yasmleil Ridall- had succumbed to a rare heart attack at the age of thirty two. Despite the autopsy providing an analysis that she had been in perfect health prior to the sudden affliction that had taken her life, the doctors had declared that she had died of natural, if not unfortunate circumstance. It was a rare thing to happen to someone that reasonably young, but not unheard of. If there had been a Jedi, Sith or a well trained Force-sensitive within the vicinity of the Senator at the time then they might have felt the tug of the dark side squeezing upon the heart of the unfortunate woman, but seeing as there hadn't been at the time no suspicion had been caused for alarm, and the public mourned the loss of one of their most decorated public officials.

In the wake of Ridall's death Humbarine had held off holding a new election for their next representative for a standard month, so as to pay respect to their late Senator. But as the weeks had unfolded it became clear who would be the new running mates that would be pitted against one another before the public gave their verdict on who they wanted to represent them. Then it would be down to the planetary governors of each of Humbarine's districts to decide who should be their representative in the New Republic, taking into account public perception and the internal bureaucracy that often emerged in inter-planetary politics.

As the month drew to a close it became clear who the front runners were to become the next Senator of Humbarine. They were:-

Peytgav Dresaxo, a known celebrity from district eleven who had participated in several Humanitarian runs in the lower districts for the poor and impoverished in the run up to the next election. Rumoured to be backed by an unknown consortium off world.

Sullchri Ridall, the brother of the late Yasmleil Ridall and the favourite for the upcoming election given that he was a relative of the late Senator. Given the sympathy vote and his record as a public official at regional level in districts seven through nine made him an automatic candidate and likely to win the election now that he was running in place of his sister.

And, perhaps curiously, Ella Nova, a former Jedi Knight who had been given citizenship on Humbarine several years ago in the wake of the One Sith wars due to her service in the Army of the Grand Republic who had entered in the running prior to her return from rumour self-imposed exile elsewhere, and significantly backed by a vast amount of personal wealth of unknown quantity. Seemingly she had been busy during her time out of the galactic eye since the end of the war and the collapse of the Old Republic.

Darth Ayra surveyed the city below her with a malevolent glare. Behind her on the balcony that she stood upon was a gorgeous apartment set with the decor and fragrance associated with Humbarine culture. It had been an hour since she had met with the governor of district ten, where they had gone over policy and how she would best help the governor's district if she were elected Senator. Through the Force she had been able to detect that the governor didn't really care for the district, but rather himself and how she could best benefit him rather than the constituents who had elected him.

Of course she had played her part, nodding and smiling accordingly, thanking him for his gratitude and praise for her service in the One Sith wars some years ago during the wake of the Old Republic. Little did he know that she had fought on the other side for most of that war, and that the woman stood before him wasn't exactly the Jedi Knight who had fought on behalf of the Republic during the Battle of Balmorra. She hadn't felt the need to correct him though. After all, Ella Nova was a near perfect disguise for her latest machination.

After murdering the previous Senator, Ayra had moved quickly to mobilise support in the upper echelons of Humbarine. With the assistance of her old contacts in the IGBC she had quickly learned who she would need to win the election, what she would have to do and how to enact her plan. A lavish advertisement campaign indicating that she- not Sullchiri Ridall or Peytgav Dresaxo- was the best candidate to represent Humbarine in the New Republic.

The campaign focused on the fact that she had been a decorated war hero for the Old Republic, and that due to her status as a war hero, she knew how best to represent Humbarine in a violent and cruel galaxy in a fledgling government that had endured- like she had- to bring peace to their world. She had quickly emerged as a front runner second only to Sullchiri Ridall who, given his public record and the sympathy vote he had quickly gained with thanks to his sister's death, was the leading man who was favourite to land the job.

Little did Sullchiri know that his opponent was a Dark Lord of the Sith who had no intention of playing fair. For all the campaigning and deals that Ayra could spin in the election cycle she knew that victory would not be achieved through dealing with bureaucrats and politics but through the demise of her opponent. Turning away from the balcony she re-entered her apartment to take a seat as she waiting for the arrival of Jack Anderson, an emissary from a cult which called themselves the Order of Jen'ari who Ayra had reached out too for a private meeting.

Darth Vyrassu

Immortal Jen'ari Sith Emperor

The Retribution sitting on the fringes of a classified planet awaiting the jump to light speed. A massive Star Destroyer purchased through Aurora Industries then painted black.

image0.jpg

Surrounding the ship was much smaller imperial class star destroyers and Sith star fighters escorting the Retribution to it's target location. Heading to Humbarine. The Republic was there, and a deal needed to be made with them. The Order of the Jen'ari fleet was a menacing sight, they had no intentions of being hostile to the republic, but to make a deal of peace as to them having a common enemy. The Dark Lord of the Jen'ari, The Immortal Darth Vyrassu shared a mutual dislike for another major presence in the galaxy much as did the Republic.

On board the Retribution several Imperial personal was hard at work at their stations maintaining The Retribution. Up on the bridge is where numerous key figures of the Order stood. The Bridge had a dark, creepy feeling to it. It had massive windows all around it and above it. Red dimly lit lights scattered around the bridge flooding it in an ominous red glow of light.

image0.gif

At the very front of the bridge stood Darth Vyrassu, his full black armor and robes with his Hood up over his mask with glowing red eyes, all this was only a essence of intimidation that added to his menacing height of 7'5". Vyrassu had duel pauldrons coming off his shoulders, his black robes extending to the floor covering his feet. Vyrassu's body emitted a red metallic glow and red smoke like stems emitting from his body due to his power within the Darkside.

image0.jpg

Vyrassu gazed out the windows going over different scenarios that would happen once he arrived on Humbarine. Some thoughts dwelled on conflict as Jedi and Sith shouldn't be in each others company, usually caused conflict. Another thought that crossed his mind was the proposal he had for the republic might actually go through. The answer will never be known until the time the order arrived on Humbarine, as no vision of the future was ever certain, they were always in motion and only showed multiple potential futures. Vyrassu shrugged it off as an Imperial Officer approached him.

My lord, we are ready to make the jump to light speed.

Vyrassu looked towards the officer giving him a look that was emotionless, just a dead stare. Vyrassu simply nodded to the officer. The officer returned the nod and turned on his boot and gave the orders to the entire fleet. Vyrassu turned his head back to the window and watched as his Sith fleet jumped into light speed. Vyrassu then turned and begin to walk along the bridge at a slow and casual pace. Vyrassu turned to the Imperial officer that just previously spoke with him.

Inform me when we arrive. The officer gave a simple nod. Yes my lord

Vyrassu finished walking along the bridge and down the 3 small stairs and out of the bridge. Vyrassu walked along the dark hallways of the Retribution to the turbo lifts.

image0.png

Vyrassu pressed the button on the Turbo lift opening the door. Vyrassu stepped in and pressed the button marked VC. The Turbo lift to him up about 4 floors and the door opened to show a circle room flooded with dim red lights and a throne chair sitting in the center.

image0.jpg

Vyrassu walked up to the chair and then sat down closing his eyes to meditate and focus his energy within the force. After what seemed several several hours, the comlink buzzed on his chair. My Lord we are coming up on Humbarine. Vyrassu stood and walked to the Turbo lift taking it to the bridge. Once on the bridge Vyrassu did wonder where [member="Jack Anderson"] and [member="Darth Aegis"] and [member="Rure Vukot"] where located on the Retribution. Vyrassu walked back to the spot on the bridge where he once stood before. He arrived just in time to see the fleet come out of light speed to see the massive planet of Humbarine. Vyrassu noticed there was hardly any ships in orbit of the planet, a few here and there, but not too many. That actually surprised him. The fleet came to a stop to hover in orbit of Humbarine. The Imperial Officers already knew to have Vyrassu's shuttle ready to go for heading down to the planet. As well a garrison of Jen'ari Imperial Sith Troopers were already loading up into drop ships in the hangar to provide Vyrassu with an escort and protection while on the planet.

Vyrassu begin making his way down to the hangar, once there Vyrassu took note of the thousands of Sith Troopers lined up on each side of him all the way to the ramp of his personal Lambda shuttle. Right before the ramp although were the Shadow Guards, much like the Red Imperial Royal Guards but reverse in color, black armor and robes with a red visor. Also when activated, their pikes were actually lightsaber pikes. Vyrassu boarded the shuttle and took a seat as 4 shadow guards and 2 Sith Troopers followed him on board and took seats around Vyrassu. The shuttle closed it's ramp and left the hangar making it's way for Humbarine, those strong enough in the force on the planet would surely feel Vyrassu coming, they would feel cold, death, and void. Vyrassu watched out the window as the planet only grew closer.

[member="Ella Nova"]

Jack Anderson stayed in a training dojo for the trip, reading from the scroll that Darth Vyrassu had given him and practising the technique, Force Crush, contained in the writing on a number of droids, at first he could do little more than dent the plating on the outside of them, by the end though, strain clear on his face Jack was able to with a not so insignificant amount of effort crush them into a pile of twisted and sparking parts, it was a pretty incredible power and felt, good, to use.

As Jack took a drink from a canteen of water he had with him as him comm chimed, on of the members of the 701st that he had let in on his Sith leanings was trying to get a hold of him. Turning it on Jack didn't even have a chance to say anything before a string of words started flooding out of the little speaker on the device. "Uhh sir, we've made it to Humbarine, that freaky tall guy, Darth Vyrassu just got on a shuttle down here, looks like he's heading down to the planet. Aren't you supposed to be heading down with him eh bosmang? Ya did say something having an impotent meeting down there, I wouldn't wanna be the sabakawala who pissed that creepy felota off for being late. You better get yer backside down here bosmang I'll have the drop master prep a pod for you, see if that can't get to the ground first."

"I'll have my arse down there ASAP, have him put a speederbike in there for me, I'm not hitchhiking from wherever the kark he targets that pod." Jack said, and shut the thing off Jobbes was always a long winded talker and Jack was already at the turbolift by the time he was able to get a word in, but that didn't really matter, for his faults Jobbes was, well, good at his job chances are that he already had the drop master preparing a pod before he even raised Jack on the comms, that was why Jack chose to make him one of the first to know that he was learning the ways of the Sith.

Jack got out of the turbolift and sprinted across the deck practically diving into the pod and strapped in as it was shoved out into space, it's thruster fired and Jack was pushed against his harness, he could feel the presence of [member="Darth Vyrassu"] as his pod ripped through the void at a breakneck speed picking up speed until it hit the upper atmosphere and started firing it's braking thrusters. The pod shook violently the entire way down, even more so as when it got closer the the ground and the repulserlifts fired, parachutes deployed, and other small thusters fired to keep the pod from flipping over. The pod slammed into the ground and Jack stepped out into an industrial park, it was a good landing point seeing as it was populated very sparsely so no one would see him until after he left the area. Jack pulled out the speeder bike that was strapped into the pod with him speed off towards his meeting place with [member="Ella Nova"] or as he was told she was, Darth Ayra.

The emergence of the Retribution and several Star Destroyers had sent a panic into the planet below them. Emergency meetings between the reigional governors of each district from across the ecumenopolis of Humbarine convened in district one to discuss and plan for what was perceived to be an impending attack. It was a natural response- a natural assumption- that this unknown fleet harboured ill feeling towards the planet below. After all it was the purpose of a Star Destroyer, or even better yet, the purpose of the Retribution to attack and destroy.

There were no Jedi present on Humbarine. In a sudden crisis such as this their diplomatic skills and reasoning, plus their ability in the Force could prove to be an important asset to use in the defense of the planet should the fleet above open fire on the city below. There had been plans at one point for a planetary shield to be built in case of times such as these, but with the fall of the Old Republic and the economic repercussions of it's fall against the march of the One Sith no such shield had been built. Quite simply Humbarine could not afford it.

Upon the convention of the regional governors they had quickly acted. Police forces would be deployed so as to contain any unrest and ensure that Humbarine's citizens remained calmed but controlled so as to avoid any civil unrest breaking out into riots. Local news coverage from the different districts would publicise that the governors had convened in district one to deal with the crisis above, whilst indicating that emergency transmissions had been sent to the New Republic to warn them of the fleet situated above Humbarine and requesting emergency assistance as soon as possible. Aid had been also been relayed to Jedi Master [member="Alexandra Feanor"] and her Jedi Order.

Word had also been sent to the front runners of the upcoming Humbarine Election. Sullchiri Ridall had already been pulled into the regional governors meeting, using his expertise to help the governors come up with their response to the fleet, most notably advising that Police forces be deployed to contain the civil unrest that was sure to escalate. Peytgav Dresaxo was conducting interviews on the news, advising citizens to remain calm and stay inside their homes whilst the governors agreed to send word to Ella Nova and request her presence in the meeting. After all she had once been a Jedi Knight, so her insight could prove useful.

Darth Ayra had settled herself in the arm chair across from the television screen to watch the news. One leg folded over the other she held a Gizer Ale in her left hand, taking moments every now and then to swirl the ice inside whilst she watched but pausing and taking a sip to quench her thirst. As the alcoholic taste of candy slid down her throat she sighed to herself as she listened to the anchorman explain what they knew and urging citizens to remain indoors. Outside through the open door of her balcony she could hear the sirens of Police swoops and vehicles wailing outside of her apartment complex, no doubt following orders to try and keep residents calm. She had to admit that she was impressed by their quick response and efficiency in the matter.

The bleeping sound of a datapad interrupted her thoughts. Lowering the glass onto the table in front of her, Ayra unfurled her leg off the other and leaned forward to pick up the device. She frowned as she read that she was being summoned to district one by the Humbarine Council. Switching the device off she stood up, pulled on a coat and made sure the Lightsaber that was clipped onto her left side hip was hidden beneath her clothes before exiting her apartment, locking the door and making her way down the lift into the street below.

Immediately she was swarmed by paparazzi outside taking pictures and demanding answers to questions she could barely hear over the rumble of the crowd. Police officers quickly moved in to surround her for her protection. One of them explained that she was to be escorted to district one immediately, so she obliged the man and climbed into one of the vehicles. It took off into the sky en route to the regional meeting.

As the hover car and the surrounding swoops glided through the sky towards the Council building, Ella closed her eyes and allowed herself to settle into the guidance of the Force. That was when she could feel them. The first was a stronger presence... Perhaps even stronger than her. She felt that somewhere along the line she had once been in contact with who it belonged too. Perhaps during her time in the One Sith? Whoever it belonged too was now on a bearing down to the planet. Peering out of the window she saw that Lambda-class shuttle breaking through the skyline towards the ecumenopolis below.

The other was fainter, much weaker, but still strong enough in the Force for her to feel. This one she hadn't met before but assumed that they must also be with the Sith Lord that was coming down to the planet. Allowing herself to be felt through the Force so as to entice both Darth Vyrassu, Jack Anderson and any other Sith who might be on the Retribution Ella lifted her hand gently towards the driver of the Police car and spoke softly, "Bring the car down to that plaza."

With the dark side laced into her words the driver was compelled to follow her request. The Police escort landed in a plaza just outside of district two. Exiting the car, Ella told the Police officers to remain back and walked into the center of the plaza where she expected the Sith to land if they followed their senses and felt her presence in the Force.

Rure was escorted from the throne room of the Retribution by her droid guardians with there vibrostaffs. She was uneased hissing she could feel the presences of light somewhere. She was escorted to an old Sith Empire Raider Ship which was docked with the Retribution. The ships ion engines would spur to life as the docking clamps would disengage. The Raider class ship would take up a position relative to the planet but the sake that the mission really didn't call for violence her and her presence is enough to drive planets into turmoil. She was placed into a large chamber center of the Raider and the room was secured. The ship would keep a good distance from the planet but it was still within the gun range of the Retribution.

Jack Anderson had to adjust his course several times, while not in is usually heavily armed outfit Jack wasn't exactly lightly armed, he wore his Terentatek Leather Duster and wide brimmed hat, along with a blast vest for extra protection, covering his face up to his nose was his usual skull print mask, just so holocameras couldn't identify him if something happened, under the duster he had his lightsaber, on the other side hung a Verpine shatter pistol, and over his shoulder was slung his "hunting" rifle just in case he had to do any sort of long rang fighting. It was fairly annoying that [member="Darth Vyrassu"] wanted to bring the whole karking fleet, but that was his choice and there wasn't anything Jack could have said to really change his mind anyway so he just shut up and went with it, and now the planet here was in turmoil, making his own job even harder now, whatever the kark Darth Arya was going to have have him do. Chaos like this was useful, but only when it was a controlled sort of chaos, not this mass panic that was starting to brew here, Jack gave it another hour before there was at least one major riot or looting event, and it only increasing exponentially if the authorities weren't able to get it under control, Jack knew it would happen because he'd started it several times to cover something or another by different crime lords.

Jack continued down the side streets until behind him he heard it, a set of sirens from a police speeder, the best he could do was pull over and hope they went past him to respond to another call somewhere in the district, but of course, Jack wasn't that lucky and the speeder pulled to a halt behind him. As the officer walked towards him he had a strong feeling in his gut, where he needed to go had changed.

"Oi mate, you gotta licence for that slugthrower?" The officer said as he got up next to Jack, of course Jack didn't have a licence, this was a custom made Czerka Arms anti tank slugthrower rifle, but what he did have was a fake bounty hunter licence from the last Galactic Republic, the force, and way to much confidence in himself.

"Yeah sure right here." Jack said as he pulled out the licence. "Hurry up I gotta job to do. VIP to protect, every karking second you keep me here is one more second she might end up dead in a gutter."

Jack never actually stopped moving the licence around, disguising the hand movements he had seen when this sort of thing had been used on others, and reached out to touch the officers mind. "I need to get to [member="Ella Nova"] as soon as possible, now are you going to let me go, or am I going to arrested and it'll be your karking fault when she's dead."

"Holy kriff hold your dewbacks pal, I didn't realise you were doing something that important." The officer said falling under Jack's sway, he clearly didn't want to be pulling over a potentially dangerous armed man and all he needed was a little push to make him think that Jack wasn't going to cause trouble. "Look I'll give you an escort, her convoy is stopped in the District Two High Park Plaza. I'd bet they're waiting for you before continuing if you're personal security for her.

The officer got back on his speeder and activated his lights and sirens for Jack to follow him, with a police escort he was able to move much faster and was soon coming up on the plaza, he could feel in his gut that this was were he was supposed to be going anyway, so now he didn't have to worry about shacking himself away from the cop to move on. Parking his bike Jack hopped off and the officer speed off to respond to some other call, he walked towards the center of the plaza where a sole woman waited, Jack had now doubts that this was Darth Arya, and although he couldn't scene anyone watching them Jack wasn't sure what kind of electronic listening devises might be present so he didn't address her with her Darth title, regather he used her name, or at least the name she was using here. "Miss Nova, I'm Jack Anderson, it's nice to meet you."

Ella turned as the speeder pulled in with Jack on top. The second presence. The one I sent for. Keeping a plain face so as to not betray her thoughts she turned to Jack as he climbed off his speeder and approached. Behind her she felt the emotions of the Police officers. They were a mixture of curiosity, anger, alarm and a few were ready to run forward to engage the new arrival. But before they could act Ella lifted an arm to them as a gesture that everything was fine despite the fact that it was not.

Out of the ear shot of the Police officers Ella kept a neutral expression. But with her and Jack close enough to hear each other it would be easy to detect that she was angry. Very angry. "I send word to your order to send one of you to me for work and suddenly there is a fleet above the planet? What are you planning to do?"

Jack stood and listed to her get mad at him, though he didn't let it bother him, there was nothing he could have done about it, Jack wanted to come completely alone, and not cause some sort of inter galactic scale incident "No karking clue what the plan in the boss man's head is, he wanted to come with his fething armada for some reason, and there's now way I'm going to convince him otherwise, I wanted to kriffing smuggle my self in on a ship full of 'fresher parts."

Jack could actually feel his own anger and frustrations start to grow, slightly at [member="Ella Nova"] for blaming him for this, but mostly at [member="Darth Vyrassu"] for causing this mess in the first place.

"I past his shuttle on the way down, you can ask him when he gets here."

Darth Vyrassu

Immortal Jen'ari Sith Emperor

2q3rf45.jpg

As Vyrassu sat in the lambda shuttle approaching something of a presence tugged at him. He could feel a person. Something was calling to him. It was like something he knew, or someone. But whom? It couldn't be someone from the Jen'ari, most that abandoned the order were dead, and those still alive wouldn't likely to be here, could it be someone that was with him during the one Sith. Either way the Dark Lord wasn't sure, but he wanted to find out. Vyrassu reached up and tapped on the pilots shoulder then pointed to a plaza where another vehicle was landing. Land there, that plaza, just there. Vyrassu put his arm back down closing his eyes focusing on the presence he felt. It was familiar to him and it bothered him. Vyrassu looked down on the radar noticing something behind him. Vyrassu felt the presence of Sith Acolyte [member="Jack Anderson"] Vyrassu nodded to himself.

Back on the Retribution Grand Moff Slate was ordering the entire fleet to raise shields just for safety but do not attack at all. The order was not here to be hostile, simply to discuss a business pact of peace. It surprised Grand Moff Slate that no Jedi ship was seen. Curious as it was, that couldn't let Slate distract him from watching over the fleet. Slate watched out the window over the planet monitoring The Dark Lord's shuttle and the ever following Jack. Slate shook his head thinking Jack was an idiot for using a Drop Pod for this situation. Something the Dark Lord would surely handle with Jack, and it wouldn't be pleasant.

The Lambda shuttle would land in the plaza as told by Vyrassu. The ramp lowered and a handful of Sith Troopers Followed by Shadow Guards The Troopers would sorround the area as the shadow guards lined up on each side of the ramp making an isle away from the ramp. Then the Dark Lord Darth Vyrassu would walk down the ramp slightly lowering his head due to his massive height. Once outside of the shuttle he would look around. Vyrassu instantly found the source of his feeling. He noticed [member="Ella Nova"] next to [member="Jack Anderson"] Vyrassu gave a grave stare to Jack then swiftly moved towards the two almost as if he was floating. Vyrassu nodded to Ella. Then Vyrassu focused on the dozens of police officers behind Jack. Suddenly the police officers lowered their weapons and walked off as if they lost interest in the situation or maybe something much darker, such as their will was just broken and minds were dominated. Vyrassu still focusing on the force for certain reasons looked back to Ella.

Planet: Neimoidia, New Republic Naval Base
Location: Aboard the "Raised Resistance"
Time: Minutes Earlier

-- They had returned from the Liberation of Commenor with the injured and remnant fleets of the 1st and 4th Sector Fleets of the New Republic. The Vice Chancellor was only on the bridge of the 4th Fleet Flagship as he was checking in with the Vice Admiral for a status report of the Fleet. The massive naval station was important for the New Republic as this was the latest threat of by the Sith occupation of Commenor. He had planned to meet with the senate after today to speak about the next steps to improving the Republic.

-- It was at this point that one of the Communications Officers ran up to the Admiral and the Vice Chancellor. "Sirs, reports of an invasion force has entered Humbarine, local milita has informed the government and we are the nearest force."

-- This was news to him, had the Sith evaded their attack and went around the planet. Had Rendilli fallen? There were a million questions yet he could not let them slow his reaction. "Admiral, we cant leave the planet unprotected, gather those in the 4th that is able to move and we must secure this possible threat."

-- Vice Admiral Pauline nodded, she was a capable naval officer and being at the service of the Free Worlds Coalition before turning to the Republic she was also very level headed. Tobias knew he could trust the women with caring out his orders. This could only end in so many ways, and if the Sith were involved, this could lead to war between the nations. A war they were not prepared for in the slightest.

Planet: Humbarine, High Orbit / Exiting Hyperspace
Location: Bridge of the "Raised Resistance"
Time: Present

-- The Fleet of New Republic Vessels and other fallen nations capital ships were entering real space. Once they entered the planetary system of the New Republic Protected Planet, they would open a channel to the Sith Vessel. "Unknown Vessel, you have entered New Republic Protected Space and are violating Republic Law, Weapons Ordinates and entering the Republic Unlawfully, bring your ships to power down non-essental systems and prepare to be boarded."

-- Tobias looked at the system schematics of the ships in orbit. They were not like any Sith Ships he had seen before, really the ships sensors were reasing it as a Centurion-class Destroyer. They were not really in an offensive stance, seemed they were attempting to have the planet ruled through some kind of fear. However, the Vice Chancellor would not let that system be implemented within Republic space. "Admiral, I want the 16th Storm Legion planet side and have the local militia work with us to figure what is going on here."

-- The Admiral nodded, "Understood sir," She turned to get the orders relayed to the rest of the Naval Units.

-- This was a rather weird layers of events, reports of invasion by a fleet of unknown ships that were not attacking the planet. A planet, from the last he was informed was currently going through an election after the death of Senator Ridall. A senator that died of suspicious reasons, and were secretly being investigated by the Republic Strategic Intelligence Services. Still, there were so many questions that were here on this small planet that was acting as the spearhead of the Republic expansion though out the Core and Colonies. However, the main question running though his head was that if this was a Sith Fleet, how did they get pass the Commenorian blockade without being noticed. Force Users were the only reasonable conclusion of his suspicion, he would have to call on the assistance of the Republic Knights or possible the ARF to retake the world.

-- Tobias looked to the Coms officer, "Where is the planetary government, I wanted them on coms yesterday!"

There was a pang of relief that filled the room where the Humbarine Council had convened to deal with the crisis that had developed when the Retribution dropped out of hyperspace above their planet. Relieved that the New Republic had responded quickly to their emergency hails the council elected Sullchiri to speak with the commanding officer of the Republic's forces. He appeared in holographic form to Tobias to explain the situation.

"Thank the Force that you are here," wheezed Sullchiri, a fat man in his late thirties. "I am Sullchiri Ridall, representative of the Humbarine Council these dire circumstances. Forty some minutes ago a flotilla of Star Destroyers and a ship that we do not recognise settled in high orbit of our world. Since their arrival they have made no efforts to communicate with us nor have they blocked our transmissions. We've been monitoring them closely since they arrived in our star system. They've made no hostile movement save for a single shuttle that we've been tracking that just arrived in the High Plaza in District Two."

"At this point we are unsure whether they are here to attack or what their intentions is, but we just received a communique from our forces that the shuttle has just arrived... Yes... Reports indicate a small force of troopers have exited the vessel and... By the Force... That's Ella Nova meeting with them..."

Through the transmission Sullchiri provided a live feed of the High Plaza to the Vice Chancellor and the bridge he was stood upon. It popped into life just as the Police officers behind Ella turned and suddenly begun leaving the High Plaza to the shock of Sullchiri and a series of swears from some of governors just behind him in the council meeting room...

| [member="Jack Anderson"] | [member="Darth Vyrassu"] |
Ella sneered at Jack before averting her gaze away from him to the Lambda as it arrived. Her eyes followed each of the troopers that emerged from the ship followed by a gargantuan of a man who radiated Sith. Keeping her focus on Vyrassu as he approached Ella was distinctly aware of all the people that would be watching this event as it unfurled. It felt like every person on Humbarine was watching her.

"I assume this is the man you spoke of?" asked Ella to Jack as she gestured to Vyrassu with one hand. It was a rhetorical question. Before Jack could respond Ella said to Vyrassu: "You have the entire planet watching you. Watching me. What is it that you want?"

As Ella spoke her mind raced to draw up the possibilities of what was happening here, and the ramifications it could pose to her disguise. Yet, there was a way that she could turn this to her advantage of she could get a grip of the situation. She imagined the anchors on the news networks covering what was happening on the High Plaza, identifying her as Ella Nova, the former Jedi Knight who had recently entered herself in the elections for Humbarine's new Senator. Her braveness at confronting the invaders by herself.

How she might have saved Humbarine from destruction if she could get them to turn around through the sheer art of diplomacy.

Vyrassu took out a small comms unit and whispered something into it. Vyrassu then turned to look to the sky. He could see his fleet in orbit.

Grand Moff Slate ignored the republic and received the comms from lord Vyrassu.

A moment later the entire planet watched the fleet jump to lightspeed and dissapear. Now that Vyrassu's fleet was gone, maybe the planet could relax. Vyrassu looked around, the news reporter was shocked but now more calm, still slightly worried. Vyrassu listened to the planet through the force closing his eyes. He could hear people worried, but calming down now that the Sith fleet was gone. Vyrassu felt perfectly justified in having the fleet here, because now him and Jack were no longer safe. They were safe with the fleet here. Vyrassu turned his attention back to [member="Ella Nova"]

I was simply going to ask for an audience with the republic to discuss a peace treaty, but after the republic acting this way, just goes to show how pathetic the republic is. Going hostile on someone that brought their forces with them for protection because the republic over reacts to everything. If we wanted to cause harm we would of done it already. Tell the Jedi grand master Alexandra an old friend named Vyrassu says hi.

Vyrassu turns and walks to his shuttle looking to the reporter and waves then gets on the shuttle with the troops, and guards following. Vyrassu sits down as the shuttle engines start up and the shuttle lifts off and begins heading away from the republic ships. Once the shuttle is in space it makes the jump to lightspeed to an unknown location to meet up with the fleet.

Planet: Humbarine, High Orbit / Exiting Hyperspace
Location: Bridge of the "Raised Resistance"
Time: Present

-- "Chancellor, the ships are leaving the system," Stated one of the Navigational officers, "Weapons are primed and captains of the Argious and Morrows Glory are asking permission to pursue."

-- Tobias only looked at the ships as they turned the other direction and left the area. They were facing the wrong direction, if they were fleeing to Sith Imperial Space they would have to run past the New Republic Fleet and head for Commenor. That direction was leading to Trellen, heading towards the Hydrian Way in the direction of the Core. The terrorist that they had encountered did not have this type of backing in the way of naval capacity. He held his hand flat and at waist level, "Denied Chief, they were not here to invade and since the planet recently joined the Republic it is possible they did not know of our laws, let them leave in peace and hope the warning was enough."

-- The bridge team nodded, the few whispers that he had heard were in agreement. Though there were some on this flagship that though this decision was a sign of the mans weakness. Words like 'The Alliance would have blown them out the void for that stunt.' but the Admiral's death stare made those comments melt under the rays of heat. "Understood Chancellor, the Republic Troops are about to make landfall, we also have a transmission from the planet."

-- Tobias nodded, "Take the bridge Admiral, I will speak to them privately."

-- He walked to the Captains Quarters and opened the Holo-Link to the planetary government. Listening to the excuses that the government official had sent him he could only watch as he diverted his attention. He waved the display to return to the Representative. "We had you take over for your sister Sullchiri, yet instead of agreeing to Republic Military Support you stated your local Militia could protect your system form outside forces," The Reptilian Civil Servant crossed his arms, pulling up the footage of [member="Ella Nova"] "This civilian may have just prevented a conflict that could have been stopped before it happened, now we have to show up forty minutes later where civilians could have been killed with," He swiped through the holographic image of the Police Officers being turned around, "your Civil Defense Force turning their backs on an invading force!!"

-- A knock on his door was followed by the voice of the Admiral, "Chancellor, a shuttle is leaving the-"

-- Tobias yelled back, "LET THEM LEAVE UNLESS THEY KILLED CITIZENS OF THIS FOOLISH CHIT!!!"

-- "Understood sir." Her voice went away.

-- He turned back to the video of the civilian taking care of business, "Thank the Force this did not happen during the liberation of Commenor or you and your planet would have fallen to this new force, Representative Sullchiri consider your Republic Senatorial Support revoked, a planetary invasion happened on your watch and we can not have a man with that kind of stench holding our support, step down from the campaign or loose to the humiliation of those we will give our support to."

-- Before he could respond, Tobias turned the transmission off. After he was sure the call was ended, he slammed his fist through the terminal before him and bent the metal and glass to a disfigured state. Breathing heavily after a mess this large he could only assume the reprimation that could come from this. The Hawk Party would have all new support and the shift those that supported the Doves, his Patriotic Party could also loose support. War in the Senate Hall would become an all new kind of battlefield if he figured the press twisted this problem into more then what it was. "Damn this galaxy."

Jack let out a breath that he didn’t realize he had been holding this whole time as Darth Vyrassu walked away from them and boarded his shuttle to leave. Jack was absolutely certain that if things had escalated any further that there would have been war between the fledgling Jen’ari Empire and the New Republic, and Jack honestly could not believe that it would go well for the Jen’ari, they might have some impressive weapons at their disposal, but the Republic was exponentially larger than them and had the, well everything on their side when it came to a war.

But now Jack didn’t have time to dwell on what might have happened right now he had to focus on what was going to happen next, the world just saw [member="Ella Nova"] and her hired security stand up to a threat to the planet when even the police weren’t able to.

Jack could hear sirens coming up quickly and knew they’d have less than a minute to figure out what they were going to do next. “So, how do you wanna play this? They all probably think I’m your hired security, and this’ll probably look really good for you.”

Lifting her gaze up to the Lambda as it took off Ella stared with a mixture of disgust, and anger at what had happened. Had this Vyrassu come to Humbarine just to gauge who she was? Had he come for other reasons that she had yet to figure out? What a ludicrous man, she thought to herself before turning her gaze to man stood beside her. "Tell me your name. Now."

“I’m Jack Anderson, the one you wanted here.”

Jack spoke as he realized he had his rifle out and in his hands, rather than slung over his shoulder still, he didn’t remember taking it out, but chocked it up to combat reflexes, pulling it out without actually having to consciously think to do it. Just like [member="Ella Nova"] , Jack didn’t have any idea why Darth Vyrassu has chosen to come here with part of his fleet, maybe as a way to make his presence known though out the Galexy? That would line up with him telling Ella to pass on a massage to the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order in the Republic that he wanted to speak with her, the old friend part wasn’t really lining up for Jack though, not unless it was meant sarcastically, which he would understand.

“Look, you mind if I smoke? I haven’t had one all day an I could use my fix, eh bosmang.” Jack had asked more out of courtesy then actual permission as he already was pulling out a cigar and butane lighter, not about to stop for anything but the hardest of noes to his request.

Rolling her eyes Ella turned to look around. In the air around them were several swoops, hover cars and vans with the various symbols of Humbarine's various news networks flying over head, undoubtedly continuing coverage of the event as it happened. This can work to my advantage after all. Averting her gaze away from the news vans Ella settled her gaze on the perimeter of Police forces that had surrounded the plaza, plus the crowds of citizens who had shown up to see what was happening first hand despite their warnings to stay in doors until the crisis averted.

Sighing at the stupidity of Humbarines populace, Ella turned her gaze back to Jack. "I still do not know if this was planned to somehow test me in someway. None of this makes sense. If you want to live you will follow my instructions less I tell them that you were with the Jen'ari." Lowering her hand into the coat, Ella produced a pen that she had on her and quickly grabbed Jack's arm firmly. Rolling up his sleeve she wrote down the address to her apartment on his arm before letting go and slipping the pen back into her pocket. "That is my address in District Thirteen. You will head there now. I will tell the Police that you work for me, and then I will deal with the Humbarine Council about what happened. Stay in my apartment until I return and speak to nobody."

Pulling out her key Ella passed it across to Jack to take before turning around to head over to the Police. Meeting with their leading officer Ella gave a brief explanation of what happened and that the intruders would not be returning, making sure to lace every word she spoke with the dark side in order to idle his mind and convince him that she was telling the absolute truth. Then she entered another Police vehicle and was escorted away from the High Plaza to the Humbarine Council building much to the applause and adulation of the crowd below.

The Humbarine Council was stylish with an air of Coruscanti architecture about it. Clearly whoever had built Humbarine's ecumenopolis centuries ago had taken note of Coruscant and attempted to re-create the galaxies capital in their own way. The symbol of the council hung over the front of the building, with various fountains, pavement and benches situated on the outside with trees hanging over ahead. It was aesthetically pleasing to the eye. A perimeter of Police had surrounded the council building to keep the crowds of people from entering the courtyard that led up to the building. People had already prepared signs with questions demanding answers to what was happening. It was a scene of chaos.

Landing in the courtyard the Police car was opened for Ella to climb out. She took a moment to drink in the scene, absorbing the emotion and feeling of the crowd to boon her strength in the Force. Turning her gaze to the Police officer who had opened the car door for her Ella said: "Stay here. I can find my own way to the council."

Leaving the Police escort Ella made her way up the courtyard and entered the building. She was confronted by the guards there. Taking a moment to explain who she was and why she was there the guards relented, letting her pass into the building. One even guided her to where the regional governors had convened for the meeting. Standing outside Ella noted Sullchiri Ridall standing outside. He looked unhappy, upset even. It was the first time she had seen her rival up close. Ignoring him Ella walked past before he could say anything to her and entered the Humbarine Council room.

There she saw Tobias Dracks, Vice Chancellor to the New Republic, hovering over the table in the middle of the sitting regional governors who made up the Humbarine Council. Closing her eyes for a moment Ella concentrated, drawing in her strength in the Force to a point where only a true master of the Force would be able to feel her. Walking forward she came to a stop in front of the table to look up at the holographic image of Tobias.

"Good to meet you in person, Vice Chancellor. I only wish it had been under different circumstances." Averting her gaze from Tobias Ella turned to speak to the governors. "Our world is safe. I confronted the intruder, a Sith Lord called Darth Vyrassu. I once investigated him during my time as a Jedi after he made some bounties on various other Jedi a few years ago. It seems he has amassed quite a force to be reckoned with. But I negotiated with him to leave Humbarine. He will not be returning."

There was a murmur of whispers and impressed looks between the governors as they looked over Ella. It was at that moment that she knew that she had secured most of their votes in the upcoming election. Lifting her gaze to Tobias Ella asked: "Would you care to join us planet side, Vice Chancellor? I am sure there is much we can talk about now the council has been convened. I understand that Humbarine currently does not have a Republic military presence currently? I am sure now that this has happened my colleagues will agree that needs to change."

-- Tobias had returned to talk with the Leaders of the planet to discuss the problems of this planets security once they continued moving forward. This planet was important for many of its reasons, the most important was its connection to the Hydria Way and a quicker way to connect the worlds that were blocked by the Commenorian Occupation. Loosing them would only become a more problematic endeavor down the road.

-- "...The 4th Fleet will be staying in orbit of the planet until the the 16th Strike Group can break off from the Rendili Security Detail and protect this planet from further threats." Tobias was informing the Council as [member="Ella Nova"] and [member="Jack Anderson"] entered the room.

-- He turned to face the women who had gotten the powerful sith to leave the planet. He could tell the damned individual was a sith by the dark clothing and evil presence he could sense from long years in the Armed Forces. Understanding how or why this happened was the top of his priority list, how this young women did so was something he would deal with later. At the moment he just stood there listening to the Political Candidate. Now that he had the Rep step down, she would most likely win the vote. Even her little stunt with the Sith would only boost her approval rating.

-- When she mentioned that he should join them, his Holographic Projection turned off and he entered the room through the door behind her. "I was already on my way Miss Nova, and on behalf of the New Republic and the citizens of this planet I must thank you for your help," He walked over to an open seat at the head of the table taking a seat he looked at the seat next to him that was also open. "Please," He lifted his eyes to the terminal before him, "Join us please,"

-- He waited and then continued after everything was settled, "The 2nd Sector Fleet is currently securing the Rendili Sector while the 3rd Fleet is securing the northern boarder from Radical Terrorist, and the 1st and 4th Fleets have just returned from the Commenorian Liberation Campaign, we were reassured by this council that the local Defense Forces could be up for the challenge of defending the system, I apparently overestimated there capability as well as underestimated the threats from the Core Worlds, do we have any idea how they were able to bypass out defenses?"

Ella lowered herself into a seat at the conference table as the Vice Chancellor invited her to sit. Leaning back in her seat and folding one leg over the other she took a relaxed pose as she listened to the Humbarine Council speak to Tobias Dracks. "We do not know how this unknown force entered our star system, Vice Chancellor," spoke Deccaso Haycar, regional governor of District Two. "But we will be commencing a full scale investigation into the matter, and behalf of the people of Humbarine, we thank you for your quick response to our hails. Today the New Republic has, without a doubt, proven itself to be a friend of Humbarine."

Clearing her throat to speak up, Ella begun to speak as the governors and Tobias listened. "They managed to enter our system because we do not have interdiction fields set up. As such as they were able to arrive straight out of hyperspace above our world. If interdiction fields had been set up beforehand then their ships would have been stopped." Lifting her gaze up to Tobias, Ella enquired: "Is it possible that the Republic have the technology to set up interdiction fields around our system so that this does not happen again?"
