Aja's eyes shifted towards the doorway, the footsteps were close now. And there were voices. Her shoulders tensed for a moment, they seemed to know she was here.

Or did they?

Blaster fire rang out in the corridor. Finally opening up, she sensed the presence of two other force-users nearby. Light-whip in hand now – the tail illuminated in shimmery blue – she lashed her arm out to gain momentum. And then, from the shadows of the room she snapped the wrist of the nearest smuggler, making him drop his gun.

Swinging again, she wrapped the end of the whip around the next man's wrist and pulled. He, too, dropped his weapon. But Aja wasn't done with him yet, yanking him past his fellows and into the room with her. He struggled against her, but she had the force – he didn't.

In a swift motion, she sent a foot to the back of his head, knocking him out.

The gang was torn – keep firing at the two obvious intruders or risk entering the dark room to find whatever was hiding there in the shadows. Nevertheless, it gave the two force sensitives an opening...

"We'll make it work." Cato nodded, noting the lack of a proper lightsaber for the padawan, "Let's not waste time."

The duo began to make their way down the stairs when they nearly ran into a band of smugglers, who had fallen for the fire alarm. "Hello!" Cato waved at the apparent ring leader before jumping to cover alongside Mathieu, several blaster bolts trailing just behind him, scorching marks into the wall. The padawan looked to him for advice, to which Cato offered a shrug, "This is about how I spend about half of my time on missions. Don't sweat it. Just gotta wait for an opening!"

Shortly after, Cato peered around the cover to see one of the smugglers pulled into the shadows. He smirked to himself, "Aaaand there it is! Looks like we're not alone." The Knight threw out a Force push, knocking the nearest guard down before recklessly leaping into the fray. In a single fluid motion he ignited his lightsaber and slashed through the barrels of two of the smugglers' guns, disabling them before throwing them back as well. He took up a defensive stance, blocking and dodging any more incoming bolts, and giving Mathieu even more of an opening to join in. "C'mon kid, these guys aren't gonna knock themselves out!"

Ura looked at the duck tap. It couldn't be that bad, right? The arm exploding made sense at least. Probably got overloaded, but that wasn't important right now. She had to get Kyra freed! Then she heard her friend suggest using her saber on the duck tape, which just got a weird look from the Lervon.

"Kyra, things like this are almost all fuel. Bad idea, even if I had my... I mean I have a better idea." Ura quickly slide around so she was in front of Krya. This would probably take a some quick movement to pull off so best be ready. What looked like two smaller arms came out of Ura, and quickly started to vibrate back and forth like a saw. Ura would be ready to catch Kyra the moment she was cut free.... Then figure out how to get down.

A voice sounded in Ura's head. It probably wouldn't take long for her to figure out just who was behind it, considering he had immediately gone to telepathic communication knowing Ura was better able to communicate that way.

"Don't hesitate. Cut it quickly, just so long as you can do it without lopping off her arms. I can catch her and bring her down, and then come back for you. But I don't think I can hold this enough to do you both at once, nor can I hold this forever."

From down below, Josh had been coming up to their position using Force Levitation. While it was fine to use in short bursts, with time it could grow a bit taxing...

He would have brought out his lightsaber and cut her down himself, but he realized quickly just how bad of an idea this would be. Instead, he knew it was best to trust Ura, and be there to provide the assist. Just so long as she could do it quickly...

Meanwhile, Janick was hard at work tracking down any patches or other firmware modifications, as well as their origins. In her mind, it was perhaps the key to resolving the issue, and to identify the bugs that could have contributed to the malfunctions that brought her on Makeb. She was grateful for mechu-deru since the bugs were much easier to locate than with NFU methods. However, for the purposes of writing a patch that would "cure" the corruption in the firmware at its source, especially given how ancient its source is, using mechu-deru would prove very troubling. And not least because of compatibility issues that comes with operating such an old mainframe that have much newer "slave systems" under its control. She could feel the headaches mounting the more time went on, because her mental processing power was used essentially in full in an attempt to both understand the ancient programming language and the corruption so that she could act upon it. With Force-fed code injections that would address the legacy failsafes, and some improvements to said failsafes.

With his hands, and case of money, a bunch of singles with a twenty credit note wrapped around them, he approached. “In this case, is your money,” he said sternly.taking the blasted poorly hidden and utterly revealed from behind it and pointing at the men, “Let Kyra go!”

There was a chorus of laughs and jeers as he did this, before a smile crawled over his face. He opened the case to reveal the credit notes and leveled the blaster down at it.

Feeling with his senses like he’d learned he searched out Kyra and felt a wave of relief, she was fine and most likely would be out of her situation soon. “So here is how we’re going to do this….”

A flying golden sneetch rammed into the suitcase sending money into the air. A gust of wind, a calm breeze, choose this moment to materialize sending the money into the air and swirling about in the sky.

“My savings!” Jae said jumping to the ground just in time for blasters to begin firing.

With one hand he aimed and fired his own blaster, the cylinder jerking a new power core into the chamber with each pull. Currently stun bolts were being fired but Jae opened the weapon and slotted in an explosive round before rising from behind cover and taking aim at the floating mass of money.

He fired, setting his life saving on fire and creating a wall of flaming money bills and smoke. And then he ran towards the Rocket superimposing himself between the thugs and the rocket and thus Kyra. He pulled out his lightsaber, a weapon he was poorly accustomed to, and ignited the violet blade clumsily deflecting bolts away from the group attempting to dislodge the girl from the rocket.

She wasn’t supposed to be doing this. After she came back from the Bright Star fiasco she told herself that she wasn’t going to be the one getting into fights. But was this… really a fight? She wasn’t sure. Droid controlled balls of doom that were wrecking havoc with everyone around her? And she did have a means to stop it. It wasn’t as effective as someone with a stronger connection to the Force/Magick, but for her? It was working. She realized that she called for Jedi, but really, anyone at all who was helping stop these things? Her back to the wall, she took another breath.

Then she heard the voice crack over the comms. Arenais. She knew the name, one of the more visual families, she thought. “This is Brooke Waters, Kattada… I guess a Jedi Knight.” Of a sort, but that didn’t really matter right now, did it? “Down on the streets, with these… whatever they are.” She held tight to the wall as another swung by her. She stopped transmitting for a second as she threw her hand out, trying to disrupt it with a sound blast.

She could see a few people looking at the building that was just crashed into and were looking at Brooke. She motioned for them to come to her as she stepped out into the street to cover them, igniting her lightsaber as she stepped out. It was in her hand but it was not ignited, she didn’t need to accidentally attract those things. Just fight them off.

Jae’s distraction quite literally blew up, the paper credits going up in flames and creating a cloud of bills and fire. Yula coughed into her arm, lungs and eyes burning from the smoke as it rose into the air. “Damnit Jae,” She choked, finger still firmly grasping around the little droid.

She’d nearly lost her focus in the chaos, but preserved enough to delve into the droid’s circuitry and take hold of its signaling beacon. From there, she amplified the signal to the rest of the droids.

“Attack, my pretties!”
The swarm of droids, as if it were a self-aware hive, collectively dive-bombed the equally comically villains as they fired stun bolts at Jae, the Sand Lady, and some mysterious floating man.

They were under fire. Hiding behind a rather narrow piece of cover in immediate danger of getting shot. Mathieu sent his ally a skeptical look. This was normal to him? He wouldn't comment on it now, for they had a rather pressing issue to attend to. Slowly but surely, their foes were getting closer. But then, turmoil broke out and Cato rushed to action. Mathieu approved of it, thinking that it was a good call himself. There was clearly a risk in waiting as an opportunity as this one may not arise again.

With that, he rushed out, just as his ally seemed to have drawn most of their foe's attention. For some reason, one of the smugglers seemed to be walking towards a dark room but it was one less person to worry about for the Morellian who tried to stay as close to the side as possible before dashing in to the two foes who stood by the flank opposite to the door.

The former Mercenary was well built and with the force to boot, he was quite the force to be reckoned with. Making a sharp and sudden turn, he managed to catch a blaster wielding opponent off guard, tacking her with his shoulder. The foe was flung back, and dropped her weapon upon landing. She seemed to be in a great deal of pain - it was unfortunate but for the moment, it ensured that she wouldn't pose a threat for some time.

The other smuggler who stood on the flank was rather surprised by the sudden attack. Before they managed to fire off a shot against the Jedi Padawan, their weapon was bashed away with the stun baton. The Nautolan foe was quick, however, and before Mathieu had a chance to strike at the alien, they had already managed to pull out their vibrosword.

From her vantage point, she couldn't see much – but she heard the definite snap-hiss sound of a light saber. Ah, good. If she had been joined by Jedi, they could make quick work of this.

It seemed that the newcomers had been able to thin the herd of smugglers.

Outside the doorway, there was a flurry of motion as a well-built young man rammed his shoulder into one of the smugglers. However, a Nautolan stepped forward to take her place – vibroblade humming in their hand. A flash of blue and her whip was around the alien's neck.

Aja kept a steady hold on him until he finally dropped the blade, which landed on the ground with a hard clang. Yanking down, Aja was able to pull the Nautolan to the floor, where he lost consciousness. The tail of the light whip remained wrapped where it was, but Aja soon stepped out into the light of the corridor, revealing herself at last. The smugglers were all disarmed and on the floor in various states.

Leaning down, she unwrapped the whip and put it back into place on her belt.

“Not bad,” she said, glancing at her two fellow Jedi – a smirk curling the corners of her mouth.

His face contorted in a grimace as he gritted his teeth. He felt a burning sensation spreading through his throat, a fire hotter than the deserts of Jilrua. An involuntary gasp escaped from his lips.

“First time kid?”

Centin opened his eyes and looked across the counter at the Twi’lek holding a red bottle in hand. The figure laughed loudly at his reaction to the bottle’s contents.

“Boga noga ain’t for everyone, don’t take it personally.”

The padawan scoffed a bit at the accusation.

“No, I’m fine. Just been a while is all,”
he said with feigned confidence. “But I think that’ll be it for now. I’m working.”

He placed the glass back on the bar and strode to the doorway on the opposite wall, heading outside onto the lively patio. Centin chose an open table near the edge, something with a view. From his pack he produced a pair of macrobinoculars and peered through them.

The goggles landed on a scene just beginning to emerge on the city’s outskirts. He saw Risen emerge from the ship, hands raised as Hutt thugs surrounded him.

Perfect. Everything’s going according to plan.

It wasn’t like Risen was in any real danger. If he chose to fight them, well, it wouldn’t be much of a fight. Hopefully his master didn’t know that though.

The group shuffled in the direction of the city walls, making their way into the city. Waerlub was a Hutt of habit. If the boy knew anything it was that Risen would be marched immediately to him, still stationed in that same old flophouse.

Centin put the binoculars away and sat at the table idly for a moment. A cool breeze washed over him, his hair gently ruffling in the wind. Maybe being back wasn’t so bad.

The Mad Scientist, Doctor Ludicrous Strange has unleashed a horde of legally distinct snitches from Harry Potter! They are just sort of running into people and hitting them and being a nuisance but we should probably stop them right?

"No I don't suppose it does" Caedyn replied into the comm-link as he and the astromech continued on in their path, "But if you've got any intel on what we ought to expect be behind this virus or hack, whatever it is, I'm all ears" he exclaimed.

Caedyn wasn't exactly your expert artisan when it came to droids and computers, that sort of electronic skillset was best left in the hands of the professionals where as he was more accustomed to the shaping of metals and materials requiring far less a refined touch.

"What sort of transmission bandwidth would be required to cover the entire capital?" He asked rhetorically, at this point more or less simply voicing his concern and curiosities over the assignment; "I don't know if I should be looking for a crew of hackers and slicers, or just a machine of some sort" he concluded.

Following the larger power outputs that Chip could pick up on was all well and good, but they could come across several before actually hitting the right location that held their target source. The sooner this objective could be dealt with, the sooner he could return to giving the strike team grief over a sit-rep on the Kyra Perl Kyra Perl situation.

Cato managed to take out a few more of the smugglers, disarming them by deflecting their shots. He turned just in time to see Mathieu facing down the Nautolan, though before he could move in to assist, the lightwhip emerged from the shadows and quickly neutralized the threat. “You good?” The Knight nodded toward Mathieu, before looking to see a new figure emerge from the shadows.

“Heya,” He smirked back, “Thanks for the assist. Nice whip, by the way, Miss…?” Meandering around the room now littered with unconscious smugglers, Cato searched several of them, finding a small vial which contained a dusty orange substance, “Illegal spice. Seems like a health code violation waiting to go wrong. Then again I suppose they aren’t really concerned about the rules. And I doubt that’s the only thing they were smuggling around here.” He wiggled the container, shaking up the spice inside before taking it as evidence. “Was that all of them? Can’t imagine many would have gotten out in time.”

Crack!

A dainty looking cup and saucer hit the floor and cracked beyond repair. The shop keeper was in a panic, the man flailed about trying to bat the little droids away from his goods.

“No, stop!” He shouted, fruitlessly.

The little things surrounded him and took turns ping-ponging against his bald head. And one hit just so, sending the man crumbling to the floor and knocking down even more wares in the process.

Seva gasped, hand over her mouth. “Golly, is he dead?”

Her question was answered when the man began to groan, but failed to get back to his feet. Alright, well... she supposed she ought to get him some help. Peeking up, she located the shop's comm unit next to the register. Turning it on, she cleared her throat and began to try several different channels in hopes of finding some assistance.

“Hello?” she said. Static. “Hello?”

This was probably better than nothing.

“Right – yes, is there anyone out there? I am in need of assistance in the cloud layer, at the promenade... in a shop called... oh, dear, I'm not sure the name,” Seva's eyes flickered up, where the droids were now circling her. “Please, if there is anyone listening... PLEASE send help. And for force sakes, someone –anyone – please put a stop to this MADNESS!”

Her message ended with a screech as one of the little golden spheres became entangled in her hair.

Objective: Find Centin.
Centin Tillo Centin Tillo

Through the streets, Risen walked with his head bowed. Captivity was frustrating. One of the thugs had a sidearm jammed into his back, and an old jacket cloaked the durasteel cuffs on his wrists. In spite of that, and in spite of the way Risen abhorred being put in chains, this didn’t really feel like imprisonment. More like a forced march. He considered various escape scenarios to pass the time, each one ending in the pained unconsciousness of his captor. Others were likely nearby, though. They treated him warily after his display of Force.

Soon Risen came to a courtyard, almost a small complex in its own right: the streets were sectioned off — even from service droids, it seemed, since the asphalt and buildings showed decay — and buildings were guarded by more loitering goons. No discipline. He searched for Centin, but was pushed forward.

A building with three tiers and a domed roof dominated the central yard. That looked clean, at least, and well-defended. Risen took his chance to scan the building, counting windows and doors, measuring height, as they approached. He wasn’t planning his exit, that kind of tactical thinking was beyond him — instead, he stored the information in his muscle memory for when the moment came. Then the thug shoved him in.

Risen stumbled into a high chamber, lit naturally from semi-circular windows near the ceiling. It seemed like it was something else at one point, but had been cleared out to make a kind of lounge. The Devaronian bartender chuckled as he casually reached under the bar. Others quietly left. Central to the room was a platform bearing a huge, slug-like Hutt, alongside a man in an expensive suit. He was nearly as tall as Risen, with a slim build and imperious posture. Even he seemed deferential to the larger figure.

Quiet fell as Risen was brought before the Hutt’s platform. The tall man cocked his head, listening intently to his master who began issuing harsh, slippery syllables, as though speaking with half-chewed food in his mouth.

“Waerlub hopes that your travel wasn’t too… burdensome.” His voice was venomous, conspiratorial. He spoke in Galactic Standard. “The help can be awfully excitable, I’m afraid.”

Risen stared.

“Ahem, right.” Waerlub heaved a response to the translator. “We understand that you came to Makeb in a quadrijet transfer spacetug manufactured by the Subpro Corporation. Waerlub would like to compensate you for information regarding how you found this vessel.”

Risen stared.

The translator shook his head dramatically. “This won’t do.” He nodded to one of the thugs, who stalked over and cracked Risen in the jaw. Metal in the mouth. He spit a gob of blood to the side. That would be the last drop they saw, he decided.

“Now, I hope you’ve loosened up. Your vessel is stolen property. Waerlub will be reclaiming, of course. If you do not wish to be held responsible, you will furnish us with the whereabouts of one Centin Tillo.”

Wait, what? “I thought he was with you.”

The translator sighed and gestured to Risen. “Right, well if you insist on doing this the hard way.”

The thug from early whipped a baton from his jacket, swinging hard for the back of the knee. Risen kicked his wrist, then threw him into the air as he stumbled. Glass shattered, the enemy crashing into rows of bottles behind the bar.

“Sorry, looks like I came to the wrong place. I’ll be leaving now.”

“I rather think you forfeited that right,” the translator said as he rolled his sleeves. Weapons flared to life, enemies blocked the door.

Well, I guess I warned them. Risen leapt towards Waerlub.

The chaos of the moment was profound, the girl struggling to catch sight of the decreasing counter as people arrived in a desperate attempt to free her from blasting off into space, rocket in tow.

She could see nothing inside the chaos. The buzzing of the sneetches wings and the sudden hiss of wind washed over. The ducktape snapped. She went falling down into Ura Iolar Ura Iolar and Josh Dragovalor Josh Dragovalor awaiting arms.

Her fevered scream was drown out by a hiss, Jaeson Starchaser Jaeson Starchaser transaction completing in the nick of time. The rocket powered down, saving the group from a firey death. Kyra quivered in nothing short of shock. The rocket timer was a cold splash of reality against her senses. She clutched at her peers, trying to find her footing.

"I'm fine. I'm-I'm fine." Such small words to encompass how it felt to still be alive. She looked on at all of them, tears building on her lashline.

"Thank you."

The fight ended rather abruptly as Cato and the new ally dealt with the remaining enemies. Mathieu was not only a little surprised to say the way in which the woman worked her lightwhip but he was impressed nonetheless. Standing up straight and letting a breath out, he nodded to Cato "Yeah, I'm alright. thanks. You two seem to be fine too." he said, giving both allies a quick look over. The Morellian then turned to the person who he had yet to get to know and added a brief "Thanks" to Cato's praise.

Soon, they all seemed to start thinking about the fallout "I sure hope so. But we should be good regardless. The reports - which I read very thoroughly - suggested that the smuggling ring would fall apart without its leader." he said, adding a bit of a jestful tone towards the middle part of the sentence.

With Cato tending to securing evidence samples, Mathieu started contacting local authorities. He hoped that it would be the beginning of a strong bond between the Concord at large, but the Silver Jedi Order specifically, and the local authorities of Makeb. The threats seemed to be dealt with and from this point on, he expected it all to continue smoothly.

Thanks for the assist. Nice whip, by the way, Miss…?”

“Shen,” she replied, watching as the young man with dark hair searched the smugglers. Soon, his search was successful, producing a small vial filled with spice. Inwardly, she shuddered to think about the patrons eating the food here. He was right, a health code violation indeed.

Then, her gaze shifted to the tall blonde and she gave a small nod of agreement.

“The locals should be able to take it from here,” she nodded, as she started off down the corridor again. Aja offered her Jedi allies a brief, enigmatic smile as she soon disappeared from sight. They seemed capable enough to keep the injured smugglers on the ground until the local authorities could scoop them up and deposit them into prison.

As for Aja, she'd sweep the perimeter of the building again – checking for any smugglers that may have escaped them. And if she found any, she'd leave them bound for the locals to find, much like the one she'd stuffed into the broom closet. She wasn't the type to stick around, for the shadows were her home and she wanted to keep it that way.

Her lightsaber always felt good in her hand. Right and ready. The original crystal long since replaced. When she came to Kattada with the rest of the Blue Coral Divers, she found a living crystal within the reef of Kattada. Living in a shellfish, a pearl that lended her lightsaber its oceanic-blue hue. She was hoping to not use it as the people ran across the road, as another one of the golden orbs came down the street she threw her hand out, summoning the resonating power from her trident and hurling it down the street stopping one, two, three of those balls.

“There has to be something controlling them.” She said. She knew enough about droids but these, well, something was wrong. “Maybe a virus… I hope. Whoever designed these best not have intended to throw them at civilians.” Almost shouting that over the comms. She stepped down the street and the lightsaber in hand ignited, and she could feel the rumble through the Force.

Maybe they were attracted to its hum, or the electric pulse the blade was setting out. She smiled as she held it, in a defensive position. Waiting for them to come. “Whatever you do, do it fast.” She did not want to fight these things, but she would. The Witch knew she had to defend those around her.

Caedyn and the Astromech were fast approaching the strongest energy reading that Chip could detect when another comm's transmission came through in the voice of Seva Geroux Seva Geroux . Someone was in trouble and fast in need of help, yet the Jedi Knights hands were tied with the primary objective of shutting down the droids for good. The sooner that was accomplished, the sooner everyone would be safe and sound.

"Brooke, come in" Caedyn called back to the other woman who'd answered him, urging him to hurry on in the mission; "Did you catch that? Someone's needing our help...-Some sort of shop by the sounds of it.." Caedyn frowned as he spoke, the description hadn't exactly been detailed or helpful yet the woman was in obvious distress. "Do what you can, I'm picking up the pace" he concluded, hoping for the best on both sides of the transmission.

Curiously enough, Chip had led the Jedi Knight down into a shadier district of the city which housed what appeared to be industrial warehouses and factories of some sort, though they seemed to be fairly run down and not the sort of place you'd want to take a stroll at night through. Approaching one of the large warehouses, the entrance was typically locked (just his luck), however nothing that a quick ignition of his lightsaber couldn't solve while pressed against the doors locking mechanism. A quick flare of Cyan and the snap-hiss being dulled as the blade penetrated through to the other side and they were in.

It only took a few seconds to recognize a vast difference between the interior of the facility and what had seemed worn down and abandoned on the outside. While there seemed to be no one there to greet Caedyn and his faithful little droid, there were several rows of terminal stations organized back to back as though a number of people had been working there recently.

"I've got something here...I think" He spoke into the Commlink quietly while they moved forward from the entrance to get a better look over the main floor. From what Caedyn could make out, most of the terminals were all similar to one another, however there also were a couple offices at the far end of the room that still required checking. Not to mention going through what was on these machines.

"Chip, do my a favor and see what you can find on this one" Caedyn gestured to the closest of the work station terminals, the Astromech droid giving a series of quiet clicks and moving to access the station through the multi-port for droids.

"I don't like not knowing who was working this place..." Caedyn voiced his disappointment in their apparently being too late to whoever was responsible for what seemed to be some sort of makeshift tech lab. Whatever they'd been working on was clearly under the radar as the terminal's and their stations were much cleaner than the rest of the warehouse, and far more expensive looking.

Chip soon burst into an excited and loud whirl calling for Caedyn's attention, the Jedi Knight quickly jogging back to the bench where the droid had been slicing through to gain a better idea of what they'd stumbled upon. "H-hold on, say that in basic?" He exclaimed, not understanding the scientific words spoken through binary. Obviously the droid couldn't speak actual basic but the word use was a little too over Caedyn's academic level to make heads or tails of.

"They were making a virus?" He repeated, making sure he'd understood completely; "Is it what we're looking for? For the droids going crazy out there?" he asked again, leaning forward and squinting against the light of the terminal's screen.

"Find a way to shut it down then, quickly!" he exclaimed, soon moving to raise his commlink once more; "Brooke we got it, we're shutting it down now. Whoever was here responsible for this mess, they've taken off since...-Left some expensive equipment behind too so they must've been in a hurry".

"Comm's Speech".
"Normal Speech".
