STRENGTHS
  • Focused Fire: The Pandion while focusing on defense, is in essence a blockade tank whose firepower leaves little to be desired. With a powerful main gun capable of sporting powerful weapons such as the powerful House Aquila 'Buzzard' Plasma Railgun. This combined with 4 additional support guns peppered across the chassis and turret of the tank connected with auto loading systems and an advanced cooling system to allow continuous streams of fire.
  • Ironclad: The Mk.XII was built to be the penultimate blockade Tank. the Pandion was built in order to be able to hold defensive lines alongside support vessels in such an array that it would be able to shield them from harm. Be it in its ability to project a mono-directional deflector-shield, its reactive armour CROSS system or simply being in the shadow of its thick slanted armour plating thick enough to withstand blasts from even crafts larger than its own class and maintain functionality. Little short of a turbolaser would see the immediate destruction of a Pandion outright.
  • Magnetic Dampening Array: The Pandion is capable of projecting a field from itself similar to the field projected by the Starling Swarms, simulating a massive increase in gravity within its range through the use of magnetic fields in an up to 35m radius around themselves without negatively impacting itself. This field exists in order to aid the unit in out-dueling other tanks, droids or armoured units in close range combat. As well as pulling solid projectiles such as missiles or high impact rounds off target and into the ground while not effecting energy weapons by multiplying their effective weight relative to their own mass.
  • Advanced Systems: Made to be at the razors edge of the universal arms race, the Pandion from its high power yield engine to its cooling system and Advanced HUD are manufactured from premium parts that have been procured through deals with other trusted manufacturers within the space of the CIS.
  • Ion / Energy Resilient: Due to the Armour plating of the Pandion, it is highly resistant to energy weapons and ion blasts which dissipate across its armour plating.
  • Universal Upgrade: Pushed to the point of being a strength, the Pandion is less of a tank and more of a universal weapons platform capable of being retrofitted with almost any set of weapons equipment, supplementary hardware and software of the platform's size-class.
WEAKNESSES
  • Sluggish: Defensive Tanks need not move much, relying far more on the swivel speed of its turrets rather than the speed of its tracks or movement. Fast units would be able to strafe circles around the Pandion least it was at a stand-still, giving access to its rear or side armour.
  • Field Dichotomy: The Pandion is only capable of deploying one of its wide angle fields, either its monodirectional barrier or its magnetic projectile dampening field, but seeing as one of them conflicts with the other, its impossible to upkeep both simultaneously.
  • Simplistic Radar: The Pandion requires the use of other scouting craft in order to feed it information, additionally the dampening field severely reduces the range of its radar due to EM interference, causing it to become snow blind. Requiring direct line of sight or basic sonar in order to scan over longer ranges while the dampening field is up.
  • Shield Pop: Ion weapons will drop the Pandions projected shields quickly while rapid fire weapons are supremely effective against the CROSS system.
  • Energy Weapons: Energy Based weapons are able to almost totally ignore the dampening effect of the field projected by the Mk.XII, otherwise metallic ammunition requires to have specifically anti magnetic properties.
DESCRIPTION

The Pandion was built first and foremost to be a juggernaut on any battlefield that it is placed on, a heavily defensive medium tank capable of being outfitted with a veritable arsenal of alternate weaponry for any given situation. The sheer compatibility of the Mk.XII's systems make the Pandion Battle Tank more akin to a multipurpose weapons platform than a tank in its truest sense. Nonetheless, the variable load-out down to the ability to replace the materials of the armour plating makes the new Medium Tank from House Aquila a timeless model capable of performing throughout the ages.

The new House Aquila Mk.XII sports impressive offensive firepower, capable of handling the companies' own impressive Buzzard plasma railgun affording it an almost unparalleled long range frontal arsenal. Capable of pairing with up to three other Heavy Blaster pivot guns across its surface and a twin linked top gun with an ultrachrome ballistic shield for cover. The combined weapons and their versatility with the auto-loading features leading to deep ammunition reserves internally shielded within the Tank afford the units to hold lines over long term engagements.

Finally, the defensive capabilities of the Pandion are unparalleled within tanks of its own class, its own thick sloped armour plating allows blasts to deflect off its surface short of a direct hit, while direct hits are mitigated heavily by the superior synthetic steel. Although the tempered carapace of the tank protects those within it, they pale in comparison to the Advanced ten layered CROSS barrier which surrounds the ship at all times, backed up by a hybrid deflector shield which is able to be projected outwards in a 35 meter radius, providing cover for allies to flock beneath and fire from safety through the monodirectional barrier. However, should heavy ordinance seek to threaten the Pandolin its capable of dropping such meager measures, deploying its trump card.

The Magnetic dampening system, acting like enhanced gravity many folds over dragging metallic projectiles and missiles into the earth at the Pandolins' feet.
