Either way, welcome to Chaos. Glad to see a new face here. As for where to start, I recommend looking into the Factions of the board if you feel like joining a group that way, or if you just want to go balls to the wall, you can go to the public forums and start a "First Response" thread or a public thread and see what turns up. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing what characters you make.

welcome to Chaos! I'm ashamed to say I didn't get the quote right off the bat -- but, if you're a Star Wars nerd, you've obviously come to the right place. There are a ton of great Sith factions on the board right now; primarily the Sith Empire (though, arguably the Confederacy of Independent Systems as well). Even so, the best Sith writers I know don't fit the mold (shoutout to
AMCO
,
Avernus
, and
Caulder Dune
) and I think independent Sith are the best kind. If you're into Darth Bane -- why not strike out and build your own Rule of Two? I'd highly recommend dropping into the SWRP Chaos Discord (linked up in the top right).
Don't hesitate to drop me a DM if you have any questions (or really anyone -- people are helpful!). Can't wait to see you get writing!

The Bane trilogy probably had the biggest influence in making me curious about writing Star Wars. At the time I considered creating a new fantasy character and basing him loosely off of Bane's personality(I'm not sure why I never considered looking into an actual Star Wars RP forum before?). The idea of making an apprentice and building him up sounds both fun and challenging now.

Awesome. Glad I am still up to date on my lore stuff.
I do play a Sith character myself, but they are a lonesome Sith as there is currently a Imperial Civil War. (Again) I highly recommend looking into the Sith Empire/Eternal? Dread Ascendancy, and even the New Imperial Order as they have a huge story set up over there.

Of course it's totally fine to strike off on your own as there are still plenty of story opportunities for you to pursue. See you around!

You can build you Sith starting at any level, but let me swoop in and recommend you start as a mere acolyte! Characters that start low and build themselves up are so much more giving! I find they are also the ones that stick with you later on.
I hope to see you in the Sith Empire sometime.
