Public Holocron Retrieval: Calling All Mercenaries, Jedi

Brium Tallistor

I came here to chew shebs.
Brium gazed around the poorly-lit room, folding his arms. The basement of a Nar Shaddaa smugglers bar was a pretty low meeting place, even for Brium's standards. He had to talk louder to get a word over the caged Taun-Tauns yowling in the corner amongst themselves.

"I'll start this by saying I usually work alone, but a job of this caliber needs a team. And it's a whole lot of credits we can all share, given we don't become bantha fodder in the process."

"On Ilum, there's an ancient Temple that's been sealed for quite some years. Today, somebody broke into it and took something even more valuable than saber crystals. A Sith Holocron."

"We can track them with the help of a force-sensitive. This Holocron, data bank, whatever you want to call it, is imbued with force energy. So it leaves a very unique energy signal. Onboard this thief's ship, this Holocron is equipped with some sort of technology that can cause very considerable damage. I'm not one of these damn space shamans, but intel says it has something to do with the Force. Drains your life energy and traps it. If anyone is unfamiliar with a Holocron, it's some sort of object or bank that holds data powered with the Force. Took a few tries to wrap my head around it."

"So, if you're a forcie and are wondering why you're sitting in a room with mercs and taun-taun crap in the corner, that's why I invited you. I need experienced soldiers, and I need a force sensitive to pick up that energy trail so we can intercept this ship before it falls in the hands of Sith, or whoever the hell wants it. Interested?"

His light repeater hung on the strap around his shoulder limply. He would rather not take a seat, knowing his weight would likely break the chairs. His dirtied armored figure blended in with the metal walls, making him look like a statue in the basement lighting if not for the coat and the glowing red eyes of his helmet. He fiddled with the flickering light on the wall, tapping it as it went out, seeing that every time he did, the lit went back on again. He would only speak once the light was now on without his constant tapping.

"This sounds political." He remarked, knowing that it was more a sense of politics than ever with the Sith Empire and the Silver Jedi Concord along with the Knights Obsidian. He would ask who was hiring, but he wasn't paid to ask questions. Deryn would instead lean back on the wall, causing it to croak against his weight. The light flickered off again due to the disturbance, calling out a sigh from Deryn. "Do we have any information on the thief? Do we know their appearance? Allegiance? What kind of ship they are using?"

He would knock against the wall with the back of his hand, causing the lights to flicker back on, if only temporarily.

Brium Tallistor

I came here to chew shebs.
"Very." He responded, sizing up the teched-out lumbering giant.

"All the intel I've collected is from the Silver Jedi Order. I got the job from the people that got the job from them, let's just say that. Good thing there's still a couple of spoiled money-grubbing apples in the Temple tree, otherwise it would've already been bagged by the Jedi. We've got the same head start as them, so now is a good time as any to mention we'd also have Jedi possibly cutting in on the fun. If that happens, I've got a nice shipment of Cortosis blades hidden."

"Once we collect the Holocron, we can give it to the spies in the Order who sent us, and get that promised weight in credits. Or, we can sell it to the Sith for more, and they probably try to electrocute us. I'd trust the Confederacy or the Mandos to keep their word better than those vampire freaks."

"No info on the perp. Could be a Sith, could be a rogue Jedi, could be a lucky little scrapper who fell upon the wrong goods. The ship is an NC-class Enterpriser cruiser. We know this because of the heat prints left from the engines. Pretty standard company-class vehicle. Definitely somewhere near in the Upper Rim. Leave the tracking to me and the forcie." Fed up with the tapping, he slammed his fist on the shoddy generator nearby, which emitted a squeak and reset the lights, now flickering smoothly.

"That'll last for about five minutes." He grimaced. "Oh, and I forgot to mention, if any of you sleemos try to leave me high and dry in space without my property, I will shoot first. I can promise you that."

Wearing: Torchflare Armor

Armed with: Blade of Falsehoods (Single Bladed Red Lightsaber)

Stealth Carbine

Objective: Travel to Ilum and catch Thief

Came to Nar Shaddaa in: The Closed Casket (VT-49 Decimator)

Holocron theft, especially Sith Holocron theft of any sort was a serious matter to the SJC. It had been determined from afar that it must be properly intercepted. But any known Jedi would cause mercenaries to take extra precautions.

So they decided to send a specialist.

Syd Celsius, a horrifically dangerous Force Spawn had a brand new technique she was looking to experiment with long term.

It should be noted that the real Lyli Dragi has been dead for many months. Its a fact that was extensively covered up by both the SJC and Syd herself.

Still, enough traces of her vicious essence remained in her Lightsaber that Syd was able to do something with it.

She had taken Lyli's VT-49 Decimator to Nar Shaddaa and in its orbit, wearing Lyli's armor, she had initiated the ritual bury herself, submerge herself in the framework of Lyli's personality. Not to mention her form.

Her flesh bubbled and wriggled everywhere, skeletal and facial structure and pigmentation melting and resetting into the appearance of a lightly tanned woman with light red, almost autumn hair and green eyes.

Lyli Dragi, False Dark Jedi, opened her eyes, believing the delusion she was just another mercenary that had been tapped for this job because of her specialties.

The enchantments that enabled her to exist gave her an aura that made her seem like a follower of the Darkness without actually being one. With the caveat being both Lyli and Syd were willing to kill her 'partners' to obtain that holocron, albeit for different reasons.

Lyli rose from the blood pentacle in her quarters, mentally forbidden from questioning or even acknowledging its presence. To her, she had simply been meditating.

She felt the surge of greed as she landed on the docking bay. That holocron was worth more than mere credits. It was power. Power these unworthies she was to work with did not deserve to even lay eyes on. But she would use them. Oh yes, she would use them...

It was still time before they were to meet, so Lyli decided to kill some time by walking the alleys. She was familiar with Nar Shaddaa, and Dark Side only knew how many contracts she had worked here.

Lyli strolled down the alley in an armored red leotard, boots, and cape, lightsaber hooked to her belt, carbine slung over her shoulder. She was looking for a fight admittedly but ever since she had triumphed by murdering that Jedi Syd, her powers had increased exponentially. Had changed. She wanted to test it.

Sure enough, a gang of thugs melted out of the shadows. Lyli smirked evily as twelve people surrounded her.

"Looking well off lady..." the gang leader said, pointing a shotgun at her.

"Seriously, did you NOT see my cool Lightsaber?" Lyli asked holding it up.

The leader scoffed. "You ain't the first Forcer we've killed. And we got the perfect weapons two. Give us all your money and maybe we leave you alone."

Lyli made a big show of thinking about it.

"Hmmmm...howabout...no?" She replied in her crisp Coruscant accent. "In fact, I think I'll rob 'you'..."

Gray jets of flame erupted from her hands, non lethal, but having the same effects as slowing someond with the Force. She evaded the shotgun blast, which hit the one behind her, red saver activating in a swift motion as she thirsted for the death of these bandits, cutting the too slow leader down, deflecting the bolts of another few, embuing the shots fired at her with incendiary effects that set her enemies in fire as they were deflected back on them.

Chaos described her attack pattern for the next eight seconds, unpredictability the name of the game as she cut down the slowed enemies one by one, shooting the last three.

She immediately checked their bodies for credits. Might as well, considering they had wanted her loot first.

"That..." Lyli trailed cruely, smiling at the dead criminals. "Is why you don't try to rob Force Adepts...

Present.

Lyli had showed up to the basement like the others, remaining silent for the briefing. It was her turn to speak up to Duke--er, I mean Brium Tallistor Brium Tallistor .

"What's the procedure if Jedi try to stop us?" she asked, not knowing she was actually a Jedi in disguise.

Rocho sat, arms crossed, listening to Brium ( Brium Tallistor Brium Tallistor ) as he explained. The trandoshan kept to the side of the group. But he could feel everyone inside. He knew them already by their presence in the force, and that included the difference that Brium had. And those that Lyli Dragi Lyli Dragi had.

They were after a Holocron. And the best part? It was recognized in the force, that made Rocho an excellent participant for this operation. Alongside his considerable physical abilities, Rocho's force sense was incredibly adept at locating and remembering presences in the force. A holocron no doubt had it's own unique presence, especially one that this man was describing. Those things were valuable, very valuable. Rocho knew enough about the force to use it well, but he'd never really taken enough interest in holocrons. They were like libraries on martial arts. Could be good, but if you couldn't read...maybe not.

Deryn Kaaldos Deryn Kaaldos asked questions. Importantly, the right questions. That helped. It meant Rocho could potentially trust his judgement on at least these things. And they were given answers, acceptable answers. They would now need a good idea of the general location. Rocho had a good force sense, but he couldn't just follow something across the galaxy without first sensing it. And he wasn't familiar with it yet, which meant he could accidentally track the wrong thing until they got near it.

Lyli Dragi Lyli Dragi Asked about Jedi, to which Rocho had a simple response, "Kill, capture, run off. I consider those all acceptable. Most Jedi are duelists, tele-kinetics. Maybe telepaths. They're supposed to be peaceful, so we can consider talking them down. If not, oh well, maybe they'll die. Group efforts help a lot."

He looked at Brium, "I'm a force user. Worked with the Fel Empire as In Imperial Knight before they started falling apart. Aside from combat, I've gotten very good at recognizing presences in the force. If we get close to the holocron, I should sense it. And unless they know how to hide it, I can probably tell if they're force sensitive as well. Course, not much of that matters if they know how to hide the force almost entirely. I hear there are stones that can do stuff like that."

The trandoshan probably didn't give off the vibe of a force user. He was covered in weapons, but lacked the feeling of a Sith. Light or dark didn't much matter to him. Balance, imbalance, the force was just the force in his eyes. The one thing of his apparel that could show his force sensitivity was The Beast. On his back. But, deactivated, it looked more like a cane than a lightsaber battleaxe that it was.

Equipment:
heklerkok-tdl-1-tempest (strapped to his back, extra ammunition on straps.)
PS-1 Particle Shotgun on side. Extra ammunition on belt and legs.
t-7-vibro-brace (left arm.)
g-11-shield-gauntlet (right arm)
Hekler'Kok LA-2 Light Armor (Isn't wearing shoes, helmet, or gloves.)
The Beast: (Hanging from back next to Tempest)

Brium Tallistor

I came here to chew shebs.
Brium nodded, placing a steel disc on the table and pressing it, a hologram blueprint of the Enterpriser cruiser slowly rotating, followed by a three-dimensional map.

"They could be taking the Metellos hyperspace route, but something tells me they're going to the nearest star system they're aligned with. Could make a beeline for Coruscant, Could head to the Outer Rim to get to Dromund Kaas. I don't know about you ugly mugs, but I'm not trying to stick around and find out."

He looked to Rocho. "No offense."

"What's the procedure if Jedi try to stop us?" Lyli asked. He tried to get a read on her, noticing the lightsaber hilt glinting against the dim light hanging off her belt.

"Kill, capture, run off. I consider those all acceptable. Most Jedi are duelists, tele-kinetics. Maybe telepaths. They're supposed to be peaceful, so we can consider talking them down. If not, oh well, maybe they'll die. Group efforts help a lot."

Course, not much of that matters if they know how to hide the force almost entirely. I hear there are stones that can do stuff like that." Brium patted him on the shoulder exuberantly, grinning.

"I like this fellow. Well-spoken bastard too, aren't ya? Never met a transhodan before, I was expecting maybe some guttural roars. And a dangerous lizard at that, eh? Maybe your great granddaddy's Bossk, I've got two big scary lugs now!" He said with a note of happiness, sneaking a peek at his gear.

"An even share split, if you all choose to accept it. Now that I've got my tracker, we're as good as ever to get a move on. These Jedi will go to no stupid, self-righteous end to protect this Holocron. If anybody tries to stop us, Jedi or not, I want your blasters set to kill."

"Oh, and Rocho, can you tell me if anyone in this room is force-sensitive besides yourself?"

Now that the lights were on, he smiled inside his helmet, though no one could really see. He would listen to the Trandoshan as he explained what he could offer to the table. He liked how he talked - He had experience, certainly. A true professional, and that was karking cool. Deryn, however, thought of the pay once more when Brium thought of the split share again. Now, what were they splitting again?

"Now, wait, what are we getting paid here? Galactic Standard Credits or Hutt Coins? I'm not going to go on a trek across the galaxy for some Calamari Flan, here." He remarked once more as he started to get his weapons ready. He didn't exactly know what they were transporting in - hopefully not his ship - so he might have to get a trek to the Warhakw to get the apt equipment before they set off.

"We've got two Force-Users, huh. Seems like we've got more than we asked for." The lights flickered out again, the connection suddenly overloading. The glass shattered over Deryn's shoulder, but he didn't mind. There was only a pained expression as the effort they put in to keep it up went to waste.

Lyli was sizing the competition up though she didn't show it.

Another Force User. The "Dark Jedi" was already wary. She exuded The Dark Side. Believed in its power. But beyond killing Syd Celsius as a necessity had never really tested herself.

(Cutaway of J. Jonah Jameson laughing uncontrollably in his seat)

"Equal shares sound good to me..." Lyli said calmly, sizing each person here for a coffin in case they were dumb enough to mess with her. "Two Force Users definitely sound like better odds. I'm good at what I do. But it never hurts to double up."

Lyli had always been a treacherous snake.

"When do we leave?" Lyli asked, already wanting to fight and hunt. Combined with her greed, this made for a potent and dangerous combination. She hoped she was working with seasoned pros. Too many thought all they needed was armor and blasters to be badass.

Brium Tallistor

I came here to chew shebs.
"Watch the lights, man, this is a rental. Now, we can take my beauty or we can buddy up in one of your ships. If we're taking one of yours, you gotta let my droid fly. He's the greatest pilot in the galaxy without a pulse, and I trust him a lot more than you meatbags." He glanced over at Lyli.

"700,000 credits. Gear up and meet back here in twenty minutes. I'll be waiting in the spaceport section."

Brium Tallistor Brium Tallistor "Ugly mugs, says the pale flat faced creature." Rocho joked in response to Briums, with a slight chuckle. He stood up, sounded like they were about to be off. If they were after a big ship, it might be best to bring the Robber's Crown. The ship was a droid fighter carrier, had a greater hyperdrive, and would be perfect if this turned into space combat, as the the Challenger was kept on board as well.

The man complimented Rocho's speaking, and compared him to Bossk. Which made Rocho chuckle. That Trandoshan was from a very long time ago. "Imperial Knights were almost low military nobility there, better you speak, better things go. Though I'm friendlier than most of my kind. Long as you aren't the target." he said.

An even split, good. Rocho was happy with that. In truth, he wasn't here for the credits. But that meant the credits could go to expenses, and that was something that he did need at times. Mainly due to the Robbers Crown requiring it. Deryn Kaaldos Deryn Kaaldos wanted to know the type of payment, and also added
"We've got two Force-Users, huh. Seems like we've got more than we asked for."

"Three, technically speaking. him, myself, and lady. She's not weak either from what I can tell. Or if she is weak, she's trained enough to counter it out." The woman's dark side presence was enough right now to make him assume she was dark sided. Not that he cared much either way, he'd met both and didn't believe that light or dark meant good or bad. Though, this was likely because he was not so much on the good side of things. It also made things unusual. Mainly because it meant Deryn was outnumbered by force users. Course, there was a fact about Deryn that Rocho couldn't simply recognize. His species.

Lyli was ready to get the ball rolling clearly. And now Brium was saying to take his 'beauty.' Rocho held up a hand as he got ready to go,
"Is it a standard model or is this a custom? Cause I've got a carrier filled with droid star-fighters if this turns into a space battle. And if not, I've got the Challenger. It's a transport and a fighter, and I upgraded it to fly through shields. Meaning if we have to get somewhere somebody doesn't want us, they can't stop it. Course my droids will stay on board. I don't bring them once the hunt starts, it's just there to guard the ships."

Brium Tallistor

I came here to chew shebs.
Brium blanched at the simple question of whether it was a custom or not, his mind drifting to his rust-bucket sitting in the holding lot of Nar Shaddaa reserved for gambling debts, most likely being picked apart by pit droids as Rocho spoke.

"I-uh, think that I left mine in repairs actually, to get her FTL track fixed...those dang top of the line cruisers and their hyperspace mechanisms, heh!" He chuckled weakly.

"Let's take yours." He fumbled his fingers together.

Lyli smiled. 007-hundred thousand. That could buy her a lot of guns.

"007-Hundred sounds about right for a holocron. My blade is yours."

Lyli walked out of the basement and into the street to her ship to retrieve additional weapons she would need. The flesh on her face wriggled slightly for a few seconds before going back to normal...

Aboard the ship, Lyli selected from her private arsenal a Nightstinger sporting blaster rifle, a vibro-battle Ax and purple Light-Shoto she could not remember building.

Lyli paid this no mind and hooked it to her belt. Soon she was carrying her weapons in a large case towards the spaceport Brium Tallistor Brium Tallistor had directed her towards. The Dark Jedi waited for the others to show and then begin the job. But the short Lightsaber she didn't remember making bothered her for some reason...

She couldn't explain it. Had she taken it as a trophy?

She brushed it aside. Probably nothing

Rocho Rocho

Deryn Kaaldos Deryn Kaaldos

"Oh, yeah...." So he was the only Non-Force User? Well, at least he knows he has something to counter the likes of them if they turn on him. Hopefully they won't. He had his Light Repeater but now after the briefing, he'd reconsider his choice of weapons. Jedi, Sith, and everything in between will be with him on this mission. He needed some anti-nerd armory. "I'll meet you guys at the ship. I'm getting some of my goods at my ship."

He may need them if he wanted to keep up. Granted, he was already rather formidable with his current set, but he liked being ready in specifics. It made him feel like a real professional. Granted, he was a real professional either way - this was kind of the only thing he ever does - but the feeling of having the goods to counter an enemy's prowess was a feeling rare to his more generalist heavy duty approach. Besides, he was arguably the most tech savvy person here, so he had to hold up all fronts of being tech savvy if they were to run into problems the Force can't solve. Impromptu Ship Repairs, Slicing though he wasn't the best at it, and heavy duty suppression, and he wasn't going to be doing the latter if he didn't pack some heavy, heavy goods.

"Just send me the meet location through the comms." He pointed to the intercomm on his wrist before leaving.

Rocho chuckled at the response from Brium. Plenty of bounty hunters had ships they made to be good, too many people were enemies, and if your ship wasn't good you were a target in space. He responded to Brium, "Seems good, if I need anything else I'll gear on the way. So whenever the rest of you are ready, we're out."

Rocho nodded to Deryn Kaaldos Deryn Kaaldos , "I'll send them." To Rocho the force was definitely an advantage, but so was being Trandoshan, so was the right tech. Everything had it's place and anything could be destroyed or nullified. Deryn probably was more tech savvy than Rocho. The Trandoshan was generally the one using weapons, not making them. He'd made his axe, but that was about the extent of it. His mechanical and electricals skills were rather minor.

Rocho would start heading his way to the Challenger at the spaceport. Waiting for whoever would be joining on it. He'd take that one to the Robber's Crown which was filled with droid fighters, only having enough room left for his personal ship left. It was a unique ship he had purchased. Surprisingly it hadn't gotten to see much action yet. But if the enemy was going to be in space, then he'd finally see how effective the fighters were.
