Here There Be Monsters | CIS Dominion of Alakatha

unknown.png
A L A K A T H A

As a resort destination for the galaxy’s rich and powerful, Alakatha is a paradise of luxury and relaxation, beaches and palm trees included. Offering everything from beachside paradise to tropical rainforests, the planet’s continents seem to be designed solely to draw galactic tourists and travellers. For a time the planet's industry was happy to gobble up the credits of those who barely needed them.

But every planet has its secrets.

Alakatha had only been seen for its natural beauty that the Coruscanti elite missed the veritable gold mine under their very noses. Surprisingly enough it was pirates who were observant enough to notice a mountain of stygium sitting in the centre of one of the resort world’s massive oceans. It was the crystal that brought the pirates from small-time crooks to sector menaces in a short time. They mined quickly and rigged their own cloaking devices -- then began to shake down the rich passengers of vessels coming to Alakatha.

Unfortunately for the pirates, nothing lasts forever -- and their stygium fueled criminal paradise was no exception. Word spread quickly to the Confederacy of these pirates, and many saw the opportunity to obtain more of one of the most precious resources in the galaxy. And of course they could feign the ‘aiding those in need’ ideal of the CIS.

An olive branch extended; a hammer ready to fall on the scum of Alakatha.

O B J E C T I V E S

New_Project_10.png

Military might is not the only way to support and protect the planet. The Coruscanti elite want to know that their favorite resort is still running strong. Spend lavishly -- it’s on Metus’ child support credit card today.

New_Project_9.png

The pirates are still at large in their cloaked vessels. The CDF and related branches have been asked to step in and protect the space lanes as resort patrons come streaming in, while a specialized navy task force locates and crushes the pirate’s hideout, hidden in an asteroid field within the system.

New_Project_8.png

Stygium is one of the rarest resources in the galaxy, and the CIS would be fools to waste the opportunity to gather rare materials for new projects. The pirates aren’t fool enough to leave their stash unguarded, but they aren’t strong enough to protect it from the might of the Confederacy. Remove any resistance from the island on which the stygium has been discovered, then prepare for it to be mined.

New_Project_7.png

Alakatha has much to be explored -- vast seas, verdant forests, beaches that stretch for as far as the eye can see. Do what you can to support the Confederacy. Or don’t. Who are we to say?

The bridge was deadly silent. Cold and dark. A grim reminder that victory was ensured through force to arms. Not vacations, sadly. However, Cypher didn't have time to fully dadle, he had a self- appointed job to do and by God he was going to do it. Because over the next few months, he would slowly make himself visible in the Confederate hierarchy. No more pitiful Jobs dealing with mediocre naval commanders and then incompetent adversaries. No. He demanded a seat at the council per say. He was tired of menial task constantly being assigned to his fleet. There had to be a way to achieve honor! To achieve glory! There must be a way. "Commander, let's make this blunt. We will be here for hours perhaps day's even. We have to find these treacherous pirates and quickly. At exactly 0225 you will have the gunnery crews fire at Mark 22-45 and rotate marks for the next twenty- four hours. Each ship is to be assigned a certain area to probe. No excuses. Dismissed" he waved off.

The buggy shuttle bounced up and down as it rolled over the sandy dunes as it cut through to it’s destination. Xobos could practically feel herself being shaken like a martini in this ungodly contraption, having to white-grip one of the poles to keep herself from being throne from her seat near the back of the shuttle. She couldn’t tell how the other members of the shuttle were doing, and, in all honesty, she didn’t care that much. All she cared about was getting to these crystals, killing those that stood in her way, and gathering enough to place into her lightsaber. Apparently these crystals had a property about them that allowed the user to more easily tap into the stealth side of the force. That was certainly something the apprentice could get behind.

That was assuming she ever made it to them in the first place. The way this military buggy shook it was as if they were having trouble with soldiers falling asleep in the back so they took out all the springs that made the ride easier and instead shoved in some rusty ones that creaked with every bounce. Ambrus obviously shared her opinion, which was to be expected since, well, he inhabited the same body as her. “This vehicle…is the worst. Perhaps we should have walked, little master.” The apprentice gave a mental shrug to the voices suggestion, though she did agree with it.

Well, at least they were almost there. There would plenty of combat and rewards to follow this. Hopefully this would be a simple get in, kill some pirates, and get out sort of mission so she could get back quicker to her training. Or maybe Cali could hang out. Anything and everything would be better than riding in this buggy!

Sunlight glinting off the blue sea waves, the smell of salt in the air and the sounds of laughter in the air. It was the sound, the sensation of vaction, of people enjoying themselves, it was as if she was home again. The woman's hand came up to adjust the fabric of her dress, smoothing down the white cotton as she glanced around. This wasn't the vacation of her childhood though, the crowded piers and funfairs, the crowd to squashed together so tightly that you could easily get lost in. The crowds that she had got lost in before, a small smile curled up her lips as Lunara reached up, one slim digit pushing up her sunglasses.

This was more like the holidays of her adulthood, the smaller crowds and more extrvagant facilities, if she was honest though she wasn't sure which she enjyed more. It was nice to to be crowded and jostled...but there was a feeling that was missing from the resort, a sense of community that she remembered...although that could just be rose-tinted glasses.

Stretching out on the barstool she'd claimed the white-haired woman gestured ever so slightly, her glass floating up off hte bar to her hand a she swirled it, the pale liquid catching the light as she swiveled to glance down the street, raising her wine to her lips. She'd heard stories about Alakatha, from past patrons, and the report befoe they'd arrived and...honestly? At least the resort didn't seem too bad, didn't seem affected by anythign else that was going on...although this would require further exploration.

Red sat in the buggy. God, Red hated the buggy.

It was too bumpy. Of course, at least none of the other soldiers could fall asleep now, which was good, but it felt like punishment for nothing to Red, as he was trained for staying wide awake. He was trained for this. But none of his training ever mentioned this.

Red was fine, but he couldn't say the same for the soldier next to him. The soldier next to him looked like he was about to hurl.

Great, today was going to be a long day.

There wasn't anything quite like the feeling of the sun covering you with it's warm rays. To make it even better, the water that ran past Aries' feet was nice and cool. He smiled wide, soaking in the ultimate feeling of relaxation. It was pretty nice, even his migraines had seemed to fade for the time being. He doubted they would remain that way, but if he was lucky maybe he could enjoy a few hours without them.

He'd drawn into a long stretch as he stood on the beach, watching the waves roll over the shore. When he'd heard The Confederacy had agreed to pay for an all inclusive trip to Alakatha he thought he was being played for a fool. Nope, seemed like the State's pockets were just that deep. Wasn't like he was going to complain. The man literally had several years before his true reason for being would even become a thought, there was no reason he couldn't enjoy himself for the time being. Beside's, he'd gone on a number of missions with the Knight's Obsidian and he deserved some time off.

Turning back to the resort, Aries was met by one of the many servant droids tasked with maintaining the resorts atmosphere. The droid carried a number of flutes along with a set of colorful drink glasses. "Beverage, sir?" The droid asked as it approached Aries.

"Sure." Taking one of the flutes from the tray, Aries made his way towards a swimming pool that was delightfully close to the beachhead. He lowered his legs into the cool water before taking a sip of his drink and looking around a bit. The pool was relatively empty, save for a few people lounging on the other side of the waters. From his pocket, Aries pulled out a datapad and started to fiddle with it a bit. The device was extremely advanced, though it did not seem to be a make or model that anyone would recognize. Aries began to swipe through it. There were a number of dates on the datapad, with them corresponding events. Most of these dates were yet to come.

Aries began to read through a few of the events that were to come. Best to know what he was getting himself into.

A lovely woman had walked in with her saber in her holster. She is incredibly shy but very romantic.

"Hello" she said to the man reading nearby. She began counting her money from earlier. It had been a long day for Natalie, for that was the girl's name.

She had an accent of somewhere known as Britain. She wore a red dress. Her hair had turned red.

Lifting up from the sea waves, the giant hulking form of Garza came into view for those who were upon the beaches of the resort. Raising his arms up in clawed shapes, He leaned down towards the shore of the resort. Roaring out loud to his presence and sending quite a number of people running in fear. However, Garza pulled back and then just had a giant toothy grin. All before having a rather low rumble. Something resembling a purr as he was pulling a prank on the local population. Namely scaring them all to bits.

"SSKKKKKRRRREEEEEEOOOOONNNNNKKKKK!"

looking over to the side, a couple children were jumping up and down laughing and playing. However, they were looking over towards Garza. Moving closer to them, it was only half a step so he could kneel down, then reach his massive hand down. Letting the children climb onto the hand. So then he could bring them up to his snoot. Letting them pet him and scratch his nose. Playing around with him, he felt a ticking on his nose. Pulling his head back, there was a massive intake of air. then an explosion.

"GRAAAAAAHHHCHHHHOOOOOOOO!"

The children began to laugh even louder as he sat them down back onto the beach. Looking over the group of humans who were just enjoying their day along with one giant cuddly monster.

'20 minutes, 37 seconds to emergence. Mark'

"Just round it off to the minutes, please. I don't need to know the seconds until were just seconds from dropping out of hyperspace. Got it?" Karlie adjusted the gauntlet seal on her armor.

'By your command. 19 minutes to emergence. Mark.' the Centurion who had navigation replied.
Karlie discovered months ago that it were best that three battle droids got placed at the helm. Anything less and there were inefficiencies that propped up unexpectantly.

RubkoHE.jpg

"Sigh..." This mundane exchange of protocol had gotten old like 14 hours ago.
Karlie were on her first mission using a company of battle droids...100 to be exact. It were all that fit in the troop carrier. She had acquired 1000 units on an invite to go on a treasure hunt on an ancient station by a [member="Darth Tacitus"]. Karlie had found them deep within the bowels of the old station orbiting the same solar system near Drukenwell.

Well that were like a year earlier, and as old as they were the battle droids were in excellent condition. With a little mod here, there, and upgrading both the processors and power sources, the droids proved to be a good find and investment of her time. besides, she had gotten a kick out of their responses when she gave them orders. Yes, it were the phrase 'By Your Command'.
Yea, that was awesome like a year ago.
But currently, she were fighting a headache that seemed to follow every time they over repeated it. Naturally, she could have deleted the entire phrase out of their vocabulary, but it had it's uses at proper times. Besides, she more got the headache with them being too obedient. She had to watch what she asked of them, as they would literally obey her every word as command.

But they had independent thought processors...very close to AI that could match the better built protocol droids. Only these battle droids were not factory programmed, as Karlie herself had put together their logic boards including their primary directives. yes, she were still in the process of fine tuning them...pretty much on an individual basis.

The three Centurion pilots had laid out the course and done the jump calculations. Of course karlie had checked over thee entire formulas so as not to end up smack into a star or out of the galaxy altogether. But all had gone and were still going as she had expected.

"Alright... looks like we've got a minute or so to go..." She took up a seat just behind the 3 Centurion pilots and strapped up. There she lit up the secondary control screen and for the most part took up the back seat so to say. This was after all not just her first mission with the droids, but a field test.
"Oh...and you can commence countdown to emergence in seconds now... er, when we get to below 5...yea."

'By your command. 42 seconds to 5 second count down. Mark'

"Oh for Palpatine's sake....you don't have to say mark all the time to mark the time-
Just-
...sigh, never mind." There was no point in arguing with the machine sometimes.

'By your command...4...3...2...1...

68wkRKM.jpg

The battle droid troop transport emerged out of hyperspace.

'Alakatha system, 5,047 kilometers to point of entry.' The same Centurion called out.
Karlie could see it for herself on the HUD she were monitoring.
"Huh huh..." No shiet, she thought to herself.
But she didn't say anything else, as the trio she were behind were to do it all on their own. Karlie were just monitoring and ready at the override controls...just in case.

'Vectoring to system entry angle and initializing ion deflector shields...' They were heading down planet side...
"Huh huh..."
So far so good....

She stood towards the front of the long buggy, quickly learning why the driver had warned her to keep her mouth closed-her long hair speckled with sand and debris. Hand tightly clutching the paint chipped bar to keep her from flying over the side, her eyes filled to the brim with fear and excitement. The harsh wind whipping past her, playing with her long dancing cloak, the white interior of the fabric flashing as they moved through the dunes. Every other moment her heart stopped in her chest, her stomach flipping, feeling as if they were flying off a cliff-only to have the wheels meet the sand once more a loud gut retching creak coming from the shocks-each time adrenaline flooded through her, her legs aching from the bouncing.

Her jade marbles were set dead ahead, as if she didn't watch the horizon it might lurch to one side. The green and purple smeared K'vath 5 loomed large in the sky, but its shadow was no where to be seen. The heat from the star above them beat down through the torn fabric stretched above the buggy, layering all of them in cross hatched tinited shade. Covering her mouth with her hand, yelling over the roar of the wind, the fabric flapping int he wind and the growl of the engine,

"You-" She addressed the darkly dressed woman to her left, tapping her shoulder if she didn't respond, "Do you know how much longer we have?"

Ashlee had settled into the life of a mercenary well enough, but her word choice and tone still held a particular weight, as if she thought she was 'better' than everyone. A tone that got her into trouble on more than one occasion-She did of course think like that, but she would prefer people not know that. With quick gesture of her wrist, and a bow of her head, she quickly added,

"I am just very interested in slaying a few criminals," She pointed a cutting motion at her own neck awkwardly, "Although I would prefer not to be covered in vomit before we arrive. . Are you here for the murder or the re-acquisitions?"

With a harsh sigh for her horrible way of talking, she turned her eyes forward, watching the world be trampled upon by the awful buggy, the harsh sounds of the engine straining to pull the group forward. Maybe I should learn to be the quiet killer type, she chastised herself, but the quiet killers are at least good at killing. Gritting her teeth at her own thoughts, her hand gripped the bar harder. Her fingertips slid under the belt of her rifle slung over her shoulder readjusting the shiny weapon. She hadn't even fired a rifle before, but the weight of the gun made her feel safer-somehow even in a machine full of killers who could take her head off before she could even realize what was happening.

Cloaked ships were always a trouble to deal with, even the many counter measure that could be used to track them didn't work all the time, and even then you often needed to find the ship before getting a beat on them. This leading to a lot of baiting and awaiting for the enemy to attack and hope that your ship lives to be able to counteract. Still even with all it's advantages a cloaked ship couldn't hide from the force, especially one filled with pirates intent of raiding. The feeling of danger, the many emotions of the crew, greed, murderous intent and more, the down side? it wasn't the easiest thing to do, nor the most accurate, but at the very least it prevent the raiders from getting the drop on the fleet as they protected the many travelers. It would be interesting to see how things went, at the very least she was liking Raige and his manner of commanding, to the point, serious, stern and disciplined, just what she expected from someone in is positions. "I will begin mediation shortly, feel free to come see me if you require my help in any manner, no doubt once we find this raiders things will ge heated very quickly".

If Xobos hadn’t heard herself being addressed after being poked, she might’ve attributed the feeling to a phantom sensation from all the bumping that the buggy was going through. Instead, she figured out where the voice had originated from, turning to see a dark skinned woman to her right attempting to get her attention for some reason. The Miraluka tilted her head momentarily to side as she mulled over the words, turning them over in her mind before realizing what had been said. Before getting the chance to respond, the woman continued, giving her reasoning for even being on this trip in the first place.

As the apprentice took an extra second to mull over her words, Ora came to mind, speaking exactly what Xobos had been thinking of the woman. “This is an intriguing one. Though by her mannerisms…I wouldn’t doubt she has little in the way of combat experience. Might be a good idea to keep her close.” Before Xobos could speak, Ambrus was quick to interject his though into the mix, saying, “Or we could just let her go and die. Maybe see how long she could last. Your choice, little master..”

Feeling herself internally sigh at the pair of voices in her mind beginning to go at it, she actually began to address the woman’s question that she had asked in the first place. “To be honest with you, I don’t. Though I doubt it’ll be too much longer.” At least, that’s what Xobos hoped, though she wasn’t going to say that to woman. As much as she might try to hide it on her face, her mannerisms and presence in the force put off a dose of nervousness that even the Miraluka could feel. Although she had been training under Exarch Malvern for a few months now, her powers were still developing. Regardless, she could indeed feel the woman’s nervousness, which led her to lean in the direction of siding with Ora.

The buggy could be felt slowing down, and apprentice slowly stood from her position in the back of the vehicle. Turning to the dark skinned woman, she gave her a small nod of reassurance. “Stay near me. We’ll get out of this just fine.” Her robotic tinged voice coming from her mask filled the silence of the buggy, before she looked up to address the rest of the group. “My name is apprentice Yakieer. Under the authority of Exarch Malvern, I’ll be leading this little attack. Keep your blasters tight, try not to hit the crystals, and get back to the buggy if you’re injured. Let’s try to keep casualties to a minimum, shall we?” Not that Xobos cared too much, it wasn’t like she was being graded in any sort of way by how many of these people made it back.

She slammed a balled fist onto the button at the side of the ramp, opening it and extending it into the sand below. Being the closest, she took to the sand first, observing the area around them. It didn’t take long to find their objective. A flimsy looking wooden fort built against the stone mountain of the island. Xobos could only assume that the crystals were farther down in the cave that the fort defended. A fort that, well, didn’t look like it would take much to dismantle. Regardless, her head looked over her shoulder, wanting to let the forces gather up before making any sort of attack on the base. No need to break a sweat if it wasn’t necessary.

He hated salt, it was course and it got everywhere. The little duckling shook himself vigourously little particles of salt flying away in all directions as he gazed unsteadily at the sea from his perch on Garza's head. He liked water, that was the truth but this wasn't the good water, this water it was evil! It tasted foul and left these crystals all over him...like it was trying to turn him into a statue or eat him alive, that's what it was, it was the evilest of all water!! Duckie made a hissing sound, glaring down at the ocean's waves as they lapped up against Garza's legs, plotting his mighty revenge on the liquid eater of ducks before he heard the sound of laughter, turned to see the children playing with the lizard's snout. That's why they were here! New friends! Flapping his wings awkardly he slid down the side of Garza's face onto his palm, peering up at hte laughing children just before they were despited back on the ground.

While normally the Sith would be at the center of the chaos, today happened to mark an exception to the rule. A merchant family of some questionable repute had reached out to him with an offer of Sith artifacts in exchange for some holocrons of his. Normally he would not be bothered with such minutae but his spies did confirm that one of the offered artifacts was rumored to be a holocron of an ancient Sith lord known to dabble in gene experiments. Thus he exerted the effort to meet with them and discuss terms. For the sake of the representative this had better not be a waste of his time indeed.

Kory should have known to have been skeptical when her friend and Hutt Cartel crimelord [member="Gorgonzola Fortuna"] had been the one to bring up the idea of a vacation.

Island getaway, they said.

Ocean front property on Alakatha, they said.

Senior citizen tourist pass with complimentary drink package, they said.

Well, you know what they hadn't said? Pirates. That's what hadn't been in the bloody tourist pamphlets that they'd pushed on her. This whole timeshare idea was probably another one of Gorgonzola's ponzi schemes...

The old Jedi was presently surrounded by the bodies of a slew of men who were each a fraction of her age, all in various stages of consciousness as they lay on the ground. Meanwhile, the old matriarch rummaged about through some of the items that the pirates that had stumbled across her -- or had she stumbled across them? -- had dropped during the scuffle with the elderly warrior.

There was a flask.

Picking up the flask from out of the sand, the woman cracked it open and then lifted it up to her nose for a sniff. She held it out at arm's length for a moment, before bringing it back for a second sniff.

In the distance, she could see some kind of land vehicle kicking up some dust. The smoke rising from the lightsaber scorch marks would hopefully get their attention. In the meantime, the woman brought the flask to her lips and then tipped it back.

What was this? Olde Alderaan?

Dark times, the woman thought, taking a second sip as she waited to see if the buggy would swing by her way.

'Does the commander request a course deviation?' the Centurion navigator sent its selected landing spot.

"Good a place as any....I guess.." Karlie had been scanning the immediate vicinity as the centurion pilots settled the transport down on soil.

'Touchdown in 10 sec' She were informed.
Karlie hadn't interjected in their flight plan and landing, as she were in actuality field testing the battle droids. For now, they were operating at optimal on their own.

She released the harness of her seat starps once she felt the landing struts compress to the soft soil.
So far her scans didn't reveal any close signs of humanoid life in their near vicinity...plenty of various indigenous life forms though, but nothing larger than a medium canine at the moment.
Then again, most had scrambled away from their landing site.

By the time the transport drives powered down, she were halfway down the ramp before two centurions came out behind her.
Karlie raised her fist, halting their disembarkment. She were scanning what she could through her optics..the foliage was thick yet she could pick up traces of the small life forms through infra red.
"Gah..." She flipped her optics off before removing them altogether.
"...this is like overkill..." She weren't used to wearing such apparatuses..armor, especially. But it had been a requisite for her being allowed to go on this mission alone...

The all too familiar sounds of side arms racking behind her reminded Karlie she were not alone.
Well Ok, with a company of battle droids. But they were untested. it were why she had requested to respond to the Alakatha crisis.

"Sigh...
Hold up fellas..." She shouted without turning around. It had been the kill word in overkill that had triggered the Centurions behind her to draw their blasters.

"We're going to take this nice and slow....now put those blasters back where they belong.
In the holsters... "She mimicked the motion, before turning to see if they complied.

'By your command' Lucky for her only one seemed to respond for all. It would have been ear splitting if all of them responded in unionson. She had taken care of that the first day she first activated them...and she had ten company of these chrome battle droids..a thousand of them all together. Currently she only brought one company (100) here. What they learned would be passed on to the others when back on Castagne.

"Yes... good." She This was going to be a loooooong day.

Red followed out after [member="Xobos Yakieer"] of the buggy and out onto the sand. Red looked around, weapons-ready.

"Clear." He reported and followed after Xobos.

He ordered the droids to get into position behind [member="Xobos Yakieer"] and then he reported,

"Troops are in position, ma'am. On your command." Red reported. Right now, Xobos was his commanding officer, so he would have to follow her commands and orders. Red was up for anything.

"M'Lady, the foreigners appear to have amassed their vessels in this system. They are challenging us if we are part of their group."

A red-skinned woman lounged comfortably in her large throne situated upon the deck of The Winter's Kiss. Her bright green eyes beheld the view out the fore and her pointed ears beheld the announcement of her crew. She was aware of what these Confederates hoped to accomplish in this system. A trifle victory to crush someone so weak they chose to hide rather than test their strength openly. Still, the ability to go unnoticed was a strength of its own -- until the veil was torn and all was revealed. Such creatures often proved quite squishy once you wrapped a claw about them.

Lahmia's daughter, her Second in Command, stepped forward to handle something as simple as their arrival. "Have to, tell them The Winter's Kiss is here, and that they can hide behind us if the skulking foe proves too much to handle." For the ship was well armed to assault enemy vessels, but its greatest strength was in soaking enemy assault. They would happily take the brunt of the damage in a fight to give allies time to maneuver, or to drift casually through the enemy line to help carve a path -- though this often took some time as their ship was not the fastest even in space.

A smile crossed Lahmia's black lips at the merriment of the crew. Yes, they thought little of those of this Galaxy, but they had barely any experience with them. Perhaps they would prove themselves in time. She had at least promised her long lost cousin not to indiscriminately slaughter those under the flag she bore -- which today was that of the Confederacy. A disappointment for the crew until she informed them of the great space left not claimed by the faction free to be plundered as they saw fit.

Pirates? Them? Her lips parted to reveal a fanged grin. Of a sort. The most terrible sort. And as everyone with a vested interest to survive should know -- there was no honor or comradery among thieves.

"Energize all defense grids. Arm all batteries, and load torpedoes. Have our fighters standing by to launch."

The commands issues by her children filled the chamber leaving Lahmia to contemplate the space around them. Her children were well capable of commanding in her absence and could tend to affairs. It left Lahmia to regard the vessels laid out before her hoping to swat the flies that annoyed this region so.

A'Runda's doctors had told him to take it easy while on this mission. But he'd be damned if he wasn't at least going to try and be productive. Much like the last time he was on a beach he was gonna try and do his best to learn how to swim once more. Thanks to having a fishy girlfriend it seemed as though it was a requirement he never really met. However, given last time he kind of had a mild fear of the ocean. (<<< Summary) But also like last time he wore his dark scuba suit with a blacked out visor and rebreather so that he wouldn't drown. Not like it helped much last time since he panicked.

Standing at the sandy shoreline by the water the Tusken was taking some deep breaths while he closed his eyes and listened to the waves. He'd been told multiple times that the sound of waves was supposed to be soothing. However, the constant crashing of large amounts of water made him shiver and opened his eyes frightened that a large wave was coming straight for him. But he'd only seen a tiny bit of water trickle past his feet.

However, things took an unexpected turn as the beach grew dark. Looking up and to his side he saw what had caused it. Seeing a massive reptilian figure a ways away rise from the water left the Tusken in awe. Mistakenly believing that he was looking at a massive krayte dragon. Unfortunately the tides created by the movements of the gargantuan being rushed along the shoreline and by the time A'Runda noticed it was coming his way it was too late. He swiftly turned around the tried to make a run for a safer distance but he was too late. The wave swallowed him whole and pulled him into the ocean as he failed around under the water in a similar panic.

After a few minutes of reviewing the information on his datapad, Aries tucked the device away into his pocket. He hadn't expected to spend much time at the resort, just a few days to relax before he was sent out on a mission again. Though the more he relaxed, the more he was ready to return to the heat of duty. He pushed himself up, letting his wet feet come out of the water just as a loud rumbling began to occur.

Aries lifted his head, glancing around a bit as the rumbling became deeply rooted in the foundations around him. Was the resort experiencing an Earth quake? He couldn't be sure. It was only moments later that a number of screams cried out. They sounded as if they were coming from the beach nearby. Aries' eyes turned to the beach and he rushed over to the railing that overlooked the sandy shores. What the young Creed saw nearly caused his heart to skip a beat. The creature was as large as a Star Destroyer, it's thick hide spanning from the water to the skies above. It's mighty roar caused Aries to cover his ears, showing an expression of distaste as the creature's roar let out. Aries pulled his lightsaber from his waste, running his thumb along the activation pad.

The brilliant crimson blade came to life in the man's hand. Only one end of the double-bladed lightsaber had ignited but even Aries had no clue of just what he would do with it. The behemoth was literally a god compared to the Knight, yet he could not let it terrorize the....children who jumped up and down upon it as if he was a play thing.

"What?" Aries' muttered, looking up to the creature as it let out a throaty bellow that sounded like a feline's purr.

It quickly became obvious that though this creature was monstrously huge...it seemed to be peaceful. With a bit of hesitation, Aries' deactivated his lightsaber before chuckling a bit at the sight of the creature playing with the children.

"Hey!" He waved an arm at Garza, hoping to both gain it's attention and not look like a small snack.
