- Up Close: COMP-X is rather...limited in its range due to the fact that it needs to be placed and as such suffers from a rather short range when used by a operator
In yet another attempt to expand their growing lines of munitions the designers at Hekler'Kok decided to make an entirely new explosive compound they could use, market and possibly even utilize in any other addition to aforementioned munitions line.
To do this they first needed to decide what types of explosive they would be constructing. Various ideas were thrown around but in the end they needed an explosive that would be able to used in a wide variety of scenarios and in the end only one type was considered, a plastic explosive.
With the type of explosive decided on they needed to now figure out what exactly the chemical make up of the explosive was going to be. The first obvious choice was Detonite as its already putty like nature made it a good start. Thought Detonite was already powerful by itself the designers at Hekler'Kok needed to find a way of making it even more powerful, their solution? Mix it with the liquid and more stable form of Baradium: Baradium Nitrate.
After testing to make sure it was stable enough for their purposes they finished off the mixture by adding in a plasticizer to make it even more moldable and malleable. With all this done they marketed the new explosive as COMP-X.
