The Nightmother regarded Shamira for a moment before Scàth spoke of accompanying the young Witch. "Do not stray far, and do not trust anyone you meet." The circumstances they found themselves in did not sit well with Vytal. There were...inconsistencies and sudden developments unbecoming of what was expected to be a simple matter of a lost or stolen artifact. Nevertheless, it might not be unwarranted to have the newest members of the Mandragora spend their time seeking out their purpose rather than tending to the business of outsiders; so the Nightmother accepted their request.

After she made haste to the site of the disruption, the pale woman found the area surprising disturbed yet without the tell-tale signs of what had caused it. Vytal had been slowly examining the area and trying to contact nearby spirits to no avail when Shamira and Scàth began to draw near. As did a number of familiar and unfamiliar faces or chassis.

The Nightmother tensed ready to hail or challenge the newcomers when the ground suddenly opened up underfoot. She reached out to catch them, but it happened all too quickly. Before she could approach the edge and see what condition they were in, loud, thundering steps first slow before they hit stride from the trees drew her gaze.

"Scatter," Vytal shouted to all those that may have drawn near to investigate or help those stricken by the explosion. Gatherings of snack-sized meals would only draw its gaze. After all, a predator had a better chance chance catching even one if there were three or more to choose from.

As for herself, the Dathomiri woman would seek to stay out of its rampage and if possible conjure the power of her Sisters to tame the beast.

It's one of life's mysteries, sir...

Arguing droids! Often much worse than two arguing humanoids who, at least, carried the gift of reason and logic thinking. Droid programs were often too narrow and specialized. With a frown, Foster was about to turn around giving the droids a polished order to shut up when the Dauntless commando, Kavos, introduced herself. Politeness aside, they were interrupted by a massive bang that got everyones heads to turn and minds to sharpen up in the split of a second.

Kavos' words of caution were most fitting as they were in a brushy and rather difficult terrain. The threats could come from the side as well from atop the tall jungle trees. Under their feet, dangerous living plants could pose a threat. Wildlife was in many cases more difficult to foresee than sentient enemies. A well trained pilot could often tell what an enemy fighters next move was, or point it down to a few things and tactics.

The group approached the smoke pillar with caution, trying to keep a 360 observation while keeping up a decent speed to the source of the explosion. As soon as they rendevouz with the other group, the ground shook violently and opened itself up, taking Kavos and tw others with it. Shocked, Foster took a step to the edge and looked down.

''Kavos! Are you guys alright?!'' she shouted down the deep hole, hoping for an answer.

The answer came, but not in the way that she hoped. Instead, it was an ominous rumble and growling snort before a rancor flanked the rest of the group.

Chit...

The beast came rushing at them and with nightmother Nocturas short but very clear suggestion, Foster threw herself out of the beasts charge and behind a large tree. She quickly brought up the carbine, unlocked it and awaited a clear shot at its head. She pulled the trigger twice in rapid motion but it was unclear if it were a miss or hit, the creature seemed unharmed by it none the less.

While Credius was still dealing with the matter of his own personal guard being denied entrance to the assembly, it seemed some other member of the Confederacy had decided to go ahead and speak up about the current situation and alas, as soon as the Viceroy of Eriadu started to hear the words pouring out of her mouth, he immediately regretted not having just obliged to the guards' requests on his own personal retinue. It was not the attitude or intent which made the viceroy cringe, but the implications and biased position the woman took. It also made Credius' job a lot harder and a lot more precarious than it needed to be. After all, he could not have the Confederacy appear devided in front of those who hoped to find support with the might of the CIS, thus the man was forced to follow on this crash course direction taken by Violet Kianar Violet Kianar .
Heading the governor's call, the Viceroy looked at the official with a cold glance, but alas had to admit that the governor was correct, it was Credius' duty to put a leash on this representative before she would be the very reason for him to use a tactic he really did not want to employ from the start. He motioned to his own personal guard to get into the crowd and to bring her to him, authorizing them to use minimal force if necessary.

At that point, he took the stage, using the force to augment his voice as he stood in front of the chaotic crowd, raising his hands to motion the people to calm down. "Ladies and gentlemen, I am the Viceroy of Eriadu, Credius Nargath and I was sent here by the Confederacy of Independent Systems to assess the situation and to inform you that we are employing the best of our members to resolve both this conflict and the delicate matter on your sacred artifact," Holding up his hands again, he yet again called for order and calm to return to the chaotic group of people. This time though, deciding to use the force to summon fear on a light scale, in order to draw in the people's attention solely to himself. "Now... rather than yelling and screaming, why don't we first and foremost discuss the reality of the situation?"

Shamira didn’t even really remember falling.

It had been sudden. For one moment they had been exploring the forest as a group, the nightmother having gone to check out the nearby explosion. If anything, the group would be separated for little more than a few minutes. That was, of course, before the ground had suddenly decided it had a problem with the witches trekking on it’s earth, deciding to swallow them whole. The entire experience had been so sudden, without warning outside of a small rumbling at the beginning. By the time the youngest witch of the group knew what was going on, she was landing flat on her front, letting out a groan of pain as discomfort washed over her body.

Her first thought was to do a self check. Toes able to move? Yep. Fingers? Wiggling good. Shoulders lifted up and down? Full range of motion, check. Knees alright? A quick bending of them confirmed that. That was about the best she could do with the major things. If there were any broken bones, they’d have to wait til they got back to Ryloth. Shamira took the time to shake a little bit of the dirt from her hair as she sat up to a knelt position, then slowly back to her feet. Her right ankle had a big of discomfort, but there wasn’t enough pain to suggest it was broken or badly damaged. She could walk on it just fine.

Turning to scan the area they were in, her eyes settled on her fellow coven member first, proceeding to walk over to him. “Anything hurting? I’ve got some pain relief berries in my pack.” She made a little motion to her back, giving him a glance over as she did so. He looked just fine, but was probably in some sort of pain from the fall. Sha knew she was.

It was as she was waiting for her answer to her question that she had a chance to look over the cavern they were in. There was something…off about it. Slowly she made her way over to one of the walls, running her fingers along the foliage until the rock underneath could be felt. With a little clearing of the leaves, what looked like intricate symbols, carved into the rock, could be seen. One, seemingly an arrow, pointed toward the split in the canvern. Perhaps this crevas wasn’t just nature’s making after all. Seemed as though others had been in here before. Maybe, even, their objective could be here too. First, however, they needed to pick a way to go. The redhead considered for just a moment, then proceeded down the right path while waving for Scath to follow behind. “C’mon. Let’s see if we can find a way out of this place, huh?”

Jungle Underground, Ord Vaug
Search for the Hammer; What the [REDACTED]?!
Scàth Mhaolàin Scàth Mhaolàin , Shamira Karuto Shamira Karuto

A dust filled haze was all she could see as her eyes opened, peering through the visor of her helmet as she slowly sits up, brushing dirt from her body. An audible groan slipped from the helm's vocabulator. Despite a portion of the landing beind absorbed by her armor, she felt the effects from the impact. Picking herself up, she searched her immediate surroundings, pulling her blaster from the dirt. From above, she could hear the voice of Col. Foster calling to her in an attempt to check on her. Reaching up, she removed her helmet and turned it over to check the status of it before hearing unsettling activity from above.
With it seeming that the Colonel and the others on the surface might have more important things to deal with, the commando placed her helmet back on and moved into the tunnel ahead of her. Climbing back up wasn't an option and it seemed the only path now was through the underground. Activating the light attached to her helmet, Jas soon found two others that seemed to have fallen. Keeping her light off of the two, she illuminated the walls instead. "Well, it's good to see I'm not the only one to have found themselves within this place." Looking at the paths ahead, she hoped either of them would have an idea where to go from here.

Seeing Shamira was safe from the fall, Scàth felt his suspicion that this opening in the earth was a boon as opposed to a hindrance begin to grow. The chances of the two newest members of the Mandragora, both with a keen interest in the natural world but from opposite paths, it all seemed a little too convenient for the Sayormi.

“Anything hurting? I’ve got some pain relief berries in my pack.”

Looking to his fellow Spiritualist, Scàth nodded with thanks, noticing the beginning of tension growing in his shoulder where he had landed. While his people were hardier than baseline humans, even they had their limits.

And also, I’m curious what these berries are…

Scàth started as a bright light illuminated the cavern around them, doing his best not to hiss at the surprise, a hiss which quickly turned to a grin as he saw that the there was another down with them.

Three points, an auspicious omen he thought to himself, briefly looking to some of the tattoos he had, all relating to a trinity of elements. There was surely more at work here than met the eye.

“Why the Worldsoul of this planet has chosen for the three of us to travel it’s hidden paths is a mystery I would find the answer to.”

Looking at the two paths available to them, he closed his eyes and tried to attune himself to the earth, to sense the minute patterns and changes that were not readily apparent in the visual spectrum but, with careful focus, could be revealed. Of the two, this one seems a bit cooler, perhaps a breeze? The earth, it looks more disturbed, perhaps even tracks? The fungus does not grow as readily here it seems, perhaps due to traffic in the area?

While upon his world he would have been able to guide them through the tunnels with his eyes closed the Sayormi would admit, without spending some more time upon the planet that his tracking skills were rudimentary at best.

“C’mon. Let’s see if we can find a way out of this place, huh?”

It seemed however that Shamira agreed with him however. He nodded his assent before turning to Jasmille.

I agree, this seems the best path for us to walk. I feel your skills here will be of great benefit.”

Violet smiled kindly at the four people who approached her. Well, five, if you counted the small child in being rocked gently in his mother's arms. Though the woman looked tired, Violet could tell that she had a deep love for her country and for her child. Two young men, looking like brothers, and a beautiful teenage girl filled out the group. The rest of the crowd seemed to have quiet down. "Thank you," she said quietly to them. "I promise to do for you whatever I possibly may. And please, call me Violet."

"Thank you, miss." The girl had spoken up to address her. She spoke in a strange accent that Violet had never heard before, but her words were crisp and clear. "Ta'aria is my name. These are Vauti and Vardi," she said, indicating the boys, "and Is'ora and little Mirai. We will do whatever it is you need." Violet nodded to the girl in thanks.

Raising her voice to address the crowd, she ensured them that she would listen to the council and needs of these people, and through them would ensure equality and protection for the population as a whole. Hopefully this will have mollified these people at least slightly -- she would really hate for this to go down violently quite so soon.

She turned to examine her...
colleague. Forcefully suppressing a scowl, she nodded to his request for a parlay. Stepping towards him, she addressed Credius Credius cooly for the first time. "Violet Kianar, Viceroy of Triffis. A shame we have never met." She made no motion to shake his hand. "Allow me to introduce to you the honorable Ta'aria, Vauti, Vardi, and Miss Is'ora. They will have all the information on their hardships that you will need, sir." She ignored the dark look of the governor.

"I really do hope that we can agree upon a solution that is of benefit to all parties involved."
