One by one the class trickled in, not too much in the beginning. Just a couple ‘ere and there, but soon enough it changed into a dang river. With attendees like the Grandmaster, the former Sith Empress and the Vaapad Wreckingball, couldn’t help but blink at all the faces. Definitely hadn’t been expecting such a huge turnout, but sometimes you gotta put on the big boy pants and just carry on. Hoping everything would turn out fine, even with such eh… grand watchers. First of all, I greeted the padawan who had entered the scene first, it was the good thing to do, a simple nod and a few words.
“Glad to have you here, Padawan Karr. Hope I won’t disappoint you.”
Honestly, I was going to say a tad more, but precisely then Maria decided to enter on stage. She didn’t really look too well, swollen eyes from crying, makeup all over the place. Almost made me cringe, but I kept a steady gaze. Seemed her transfer from being a Sith to a Jedi was being met with some roadblocks, didn’t really know how to handle this kind of situation. So I decided to be a tad kind, mixed with stern words? Or something? Don’t look at me that way, I can’t help it. I am not a wizard when it comes to the desires and wiles of the fairer sex. My hand turned up from behind my back with a tissue, which I guided with the Force towards her.
“Padawan Natalja, I realize this might be a hard time for you. Have a tissue and sit here next to Karr. Just take a deep breath and relax, we aren’t here to judge. We are here to learn and teach.”
While speaking those words an Aura of Calmness radiated from me, mixed with a bit of Valor. I had used this before, and every time the people around me felt peace and tranquility. Hopefully she would be able to calm herself a tad because of it.
Then the dang storm erupted around us, as the Grandmaster arrived in the wake of a variety of younglings and padawans. One of ‘em, Tally, waved at me frantically before sitting down next to her little friend and started chittering with him, stealing gazes at me once in a while when she taught I wasn’t looking. I sighed inwardly, this was going to be a long day.
That was about it. I was gonna start the lecture, when another guy showed up and started making conversation with the local drunk Jedi. Honestly, I was a bit distracted, waiting on Dev and Stali to arrive. So at first I didn’t even notice the moss growing underneath my shoes, which quickly changed when Stali showed up and gave the plant guy a firm slap on the head. I chuckled in amusement, and gave him an appreciative nod.
“We have some big names today, Stal. Varanin, Grayson. Even got the wrecking ball to attend, good you are here. Was hoping for Dev to attend too, but I am guessing she needs more time to… settle down. Alright, let’s get this show started.”
Next message was sent strictly through the Force. "Go and sit next to mister Garden Boy and Admiral Beer Keg. Keep an eye on ‘em, and if necessary give the guy another slap on the head.”
With Stali off, I looked around the class for a second and then coughed. Straightened out my back, hands crossed firmly behind it I started talking.
“Thank you all for joining this… class. I am sure most of you were expecting a sabre lesson, or perhaps you wanted to learn a cool, new flashy force power. I will have to disappoint you, I am not here to teach you the basics of Vaapad, instruct you in the usage of Electric Judgement or explain to you how you can use Art of the Small to create a sword with an edge that never dulls. Instead, I’d like to talk to you about what it means to be a Guardian of the Galaxy. Does anyone here already have an idea, perhaps?”
