Grand Theft Starship

Castameer | OOC Information |

Parts of the universe had been thrown into literal chaos. Governments were crumbling. Factions breaking under the weight of endless wars and bickering. Even in the quietest corners of the 'verse the effects could be felt, it seemed no one soul was immune to the events at play. While others fought for country and home, others scuttled under the radar, looking for other opportunities.

Word had reached various beings of all walks of life about vessels ripe for the picking. Salvagers. Black Sun types. Thieves. With the Jedi and various dealing with 'Rogue' Sith, the chaos was the perfect place for a mass raid on Castameer. Two shipyards and an air base lay waiting. Some vessels would be destroyed due to the fighting. Others vandalized by those looking to join the chaos for no reason. Yet in the rubble there would be gems waiting in the dust.

----------------------
Current Position : Approaching Castameer

A fleet of JU-99 Recovery Vessels dropped out of hyperspace, emerging a slight distance away from the shipyards and Castameer. Soon the salvage vessels were joined by various others, all bearing the half-naked mermaid logo of Salacia Consolidated. Work would be risky but the payoff would be huge. There had been gains in Corellia, taking advantage of abandoned One Sith vessels that littered the 'verse as of late. Bloated from overproduction, Salacia had seen all sorts abandoned at a high rate. That tended to happen once crews weren't paid, when planetary governments couldn't afford the upkeep of shipyards built by their Force wielding overlords.

Salacia crews were moving into position, voices crackled across the comm as coordination of the operation was underway. Lingering battles were occurring, making moves risky. Independent contractors had been called into help. Rumors swirled that the Castameer location was going to be ripe with others swarming over the same vessels in a short period.

A portly Pantoran nervously walked the bridge of his command vessel. The raid and salvage operation would be the biggest of his career with Salacia. Possibly the biggest of his career ever. Mr.Zej rubbed his bald head as he thought, then gazed out the transparisteel.

"Any sign of competing vessels?"

"Hard to say Sir. Its really....a jumbled mess out there. We'll have to use caution. Could get sticky real quick..."

"Continue with our plans. Remind everyone of the evacuation procedures should this go south."

Matsu was looking at the things here, with all of the work that had been going into it there was many ships they could discover or get to learn about. The Saratai was coming through as Matsu looked from the large ship when they were moving into the shipyards. The factory ship could get and break down for manufacturing purposes as Matsu could use this chance to show off some of their new things. With the new jedi starfighters coming out fo the hanger bay of the ship. They had more pilots with their new flightsuits that used the regulators and wintrium mesh of their flightsuits themselves. The jedi master was working on part of it until she sat down in the seat looking at the captain, following behind her were two seeder ships setting up a buffer when the moment came. "Commence breakdown and salvage. Have the Saratai deploy impervium shielding and activate layer shield." The ships captain acknowledged as the ablative armor was coming out and the hugely defensive ship was a beast to get through if they were hitting it, add to that it could produce and break down what they were providing along with the seeders that were holding their new saotome biotdroids able to work and crew the ships out there for their own uses. "Prepare transports and ranger crews." She was seeing some of the ship there and there was definite interest in them.

A chance to grab materials and designs that could be used for the advancement of LOOM and eventually the betterment of organic society? Ultimatum could not pass that up. He hoped that this would be a simple collection mission with little in the way of combat, however chaos breeds chaos. The destruction of the Sith, the warring going on all over the place, was too great to not expect battle. Ultimatum planned accordingly, but he hoped to avoid any unnecessary confrontation. Unfortunately, the droid did not have access to many armed ships, or strong friends as it were. He had brought all that he could to collect materials and hopefully a ship or two.

The first and largest vessel was an Acavus that the droid had purchased some time ago. It was not capable of defending itself well at this point in time, however Ultimatum had plans of expanding it considerably to help make up for that fact. It was intended for the transportation of any materials collected and possibly parts of ships if they could be captured. The second important ship was the Sovereignty, a stealth capable ship that could defend itself. Beyond that he had brought a number of Hybrids and V-1s to both defend the vessels while on the ground and to collect what was there.

The droid attempted to command his ships to avoid the main areas of fighting. He was also keeping track of the surrounding vessels, hoping that perhaps there would be some familiar faces amongst the ships. Noticing a rather large collection of scavenging vessels, Ultimatum decided that they were also here to prey on the destruction. He decided to hail them, hoping that some compromise might be made for combined betterment. Their insignia were easy enough to identify and it took barely a moment to find the corporation they were held by.

"Salacia vessels, I see you two have come for the spoils of this fallen empire. If it pleases you, I would like to propose a temporary alliance, if only to avoid conflict during this should be prosperous skirmish." The droid left it at that, short and simple to understand. Should they decline then so be it. Ultimatum had no intention of actively seeking confrontation, he would just know which areas to best avoid.

It was looting time. The collapse of the One Sith and the sudden appearance of a cult of Rogue Sith provided ample opportunity for the enterprising, the unscrupulous, the plain opportunistic or all three.

The bulk of the Rogue Sith fleet ought to be distracted by the big space battles, which should provide a window of opportunity for disparate groups of raiders to descend upon the shipyard and steal what they could. At least that was the theory. Few plans survived first contact with reality. Regardless, a small Firemane flotilla dropped out of hyperspace, emerging a slight distance from Castamere and the Sith shipyard that floated in orbit above the planet.

It was, to all intents and purposes, not a flotilla built for a slug fest. It carried a punch and could defend itself, but orders were quite clear on how to react if things turned rather ugly. It consisted of an Argent carrier, a Sentinel cruiser, along with a host of corvettes and frigates that bore the emblem of the Firemane.

Wisely, no one had put Elpsis in charge of the fleet. That was being left to an NPC Commander. Swarms of fighters would screen the Salacia salvage ships since Firemane had been contracted to provide security for them. Standing aboard the bridge of the carrier, Elpsis gazed out of the viewing port. Firemane had its eyes on one of the big prizes. After all, it would be a shame if all these shiny Sith Star Destroyers never got used again. Communications was sent to the Salacia command ship, informing them of their arrival. Both groups would do well to coordinate their actions.

Jessica sliced through Sith systems on Vulpter. She expected the systems on Castameer to be more heavily secured than the Vulptereen, all right. But, for the first time in her life, she was to undertake what was deemed to be a solo Jedi mission. Without lightsaber training. While her boss (in a business sense) was given, on a pro tempore basis, the command of the Republican 17th fleet, stationed for years over Ringo Vinda, out of her technical knowledge of starships, she was to effect reconditioning on docked Rogue Sith ships. The only ship that was relatively new out of the ships making up the 17th fleet, was the Mateus, its flagship, a carrier. Also for some reason the news of salvaging ships and, with it, the prospect of its reconditioning, lured her to just one such mission. The only other Jedi Technician she knew was busy elsewhere. She towed a whole ship's worth of parts in the Ultima-class ship, at which she is on the bridge and, as is often civilian practice, is at the controls while being the commanding officer of the cargo ship. It was like piloting a carrier with only three squadrons: that particular ship wasn't reconditioned as a carrier as would have been the case in the Mateus. Hopefully the 36 tugs would be able to commence reconditioning while she sliced through their databases. And the others made attempts at stealing them. It was Jessica that had to assume their point-defense. She opened a channel to friendly units:

"To all friendly units in range, this is Jessica. I will commence slicing through the Rogue Sith databases: make your selections for schematic theft. From there decisions pertaining to reconditioning shall be made in due course"

"Five years ago, I would never have guessed you would become a Jedi. But because the Silver Jedi allow Jedi to own or control corporations, the Order also demands of Jedi-controlled corporations that they contribute to the Order and make any corporate asset available for official Order business"

"Marcia, now the whole Design Triumvirate is over Castameer's orbit"

"How nervous are you? It's the first Jedi mission you accomplish on your own. You're no Jedi Ace, it's your first time at a Star Destroyer's controls"

"Matsu had another agenda, but she's here, too"

Matsu was looking at the screen with the information coming to them, they had more of it from the ships and a number of designs for the ships that she had encountered within the one sith. THough she didn't want to try and go like others would with some fo the models. An Immortal would be an amazing ship to take and break down to see all fo the work they did, a dark blade as well but she had seen their planetary landing craft designed to hold tens of thousands of sithspawn. The Savan Class Carrier was something she was looking to get at what the carriers kept inside of them. MAssive trooper transports like the Armored Troop Transport, the anphibious assault speeders they had used on Manaan, the anphibious assault gunboats and the amphibious assault troop transport. They had used such things for manaan and other water worlds to deliver sith monsters and soldiers which could come in handy. One fo the best ways to update a design was to have something to build it off of as the saratai was in position and working with its seeder ships sending out their fighters and troops to start going from ship to ship.

A ship just called the "prototype" by its manufacturer appeared from hyperspace just behind the first wave of privateers. Cla'Mari had no grand plans of heroic acts like her husband. She was here for Gallofree, and planned to obtain a vessel for study by any means possible. A squadron of "Freetaa Dos" (Death Wish) Fighters launched from their internal bays and began to fly in defensive formation around the transport fitted for salvage operations. New was already coming in and she scanned the melee for opportunity and openings. It wasn't long till she discovered something quite unexpected, and very useful.

"Comm, send a subspace message back to Kal'shebbal. The Csahe'eb has fallen, short from the sky while heroically trying to save the innocent."

Now she had no confirmation of this but with the destruction of her husbands ship and reports of the pilot's death, it was a perfect chance to usurp the outsider's power and claim the company as her own. She would need to re-marry again, but that would not be difficult. If she had her way she would already be married to the man she thought of, only her father's hate for his clan kept her from his arms, and soon this would change. The Twi'lek crew of clan Rha had come to love the green skinned boy, and there was sadness now on most faces of those present.

"He would want us to go on, this mission is important to our people. Everyone to their stations."

Ria has her own ship? Ha, ha, ha don't be absurd, seriously - that'd require actual cash. Something Ria doesn't usually have. This time, the blonde slicer was scurried away on some little ship less than 100m. She wasn't piloting it either - again a job left to better people. Gigi for example, was piloting this little shuttle. Ah, how nice to reunite with a friend when you're in need of liberating a few ships from a few 'Rogue' Sith. Ria and Gigi punched into the communications so that [member="Makai Dashiell"] knew who they were and didn't shoot. Preferably didn't shoot and personally, Ria was hoping to score a few good ships for the Outback and make space dad [member="Jorus Merrill"] proud!

As they approached the area not only were the Salacia fleet in sight, but also Firemane. Mhmmm, Firemane. No doubt our little slicer knew of them something to do with her guns, anyway, and then after a few links on their holosite she found Ashira. Which put into perspective why she was always saying by the Goddess. Not that her writer would have ever lifted the phrase from some other space pew pew opera, game-thing. Moving along, Ria and Gigi the voluptuous red head were a little in awe at the amount of firepower here but then they were more eager to get this party started. "Torchbug to uh... everyone, guessing you guys are uh here for that thing, too - eh?"

Mr.Zej moved to a screen with several readouts and positions of various vessels. Data was being populated in as they drew nearer, such as make and model of the ships in the shipyards and some specs on Castameer. Various colored dots continued to arrive on screen, indicating new arrivals to pick at the salvage.

"Got to be strategic now son. Firemane is going after one of those overpowered bad boys on the starboard side, the destroyer. Everyone will go for the big guns. Could we use a big ships? Sure....there are crews ready to explore Repbulic space soon enough. See that Dreadnought over there? Thats our target."

Makai nodded, watching how Mr.Zej was picking and moving. He was pulling double duty today, shadowing in the control room and then going out with a second wave of crews to capture the dreadnought. Before he could speak, crackling came over the comm and messages starting pouring through. Mr.Zej moved to answer them.

"Salacia has no quarrel with any vessels that ain't firing on us." Mr. Zej chuckled a little at the mans wording.Salacia wasn't one to fight over salvage, but it seemed the others were. "Alliance it is. We'll keep an eye on your back if you keep an eye on ours."

The blue-skinned man turned his attention to the next message, sent by Firemane.

"Welcome to the otherside. I've got crews in place to help you haul your destroyer away. We'll patch you through our private comm channels so you can talk to Alpha Crew about coordinating the plan of action."

"Speaking of dreadnoughts, would it be a good idea to outfit them with landing gears and repulsorlift generators? That's one of the ideas I have for reconditioning it, and also these brand-new waste heat recovery devices will allow to run most non-combat systems from the waste heat made from the engines and reactors"

That was Jessica's mechu-deru for you. Yet she knew that such things need to be repaired in orbit if the repulsorlift generators fail. Nevertheless, she began doing the code injections so that she could get the user IDs and their corresponding passwords. Hopefully the enemy counter-slicers would be too busy with the raid made with the Dark Blade-class dreadnought to pay that much attention. Plus she bought that new dataspike at a discount from the Techno Union's old caches of leftover equipment that was being used to rebuild the Techno Empire. But the only thing she picked up in the Force about them targeting anything was some dreadnought so the dreadnought's schematics should be stolen. Alongside Marcia, for the first time in years, they are slicing the same objective together: there never was a need to use more than one slicer for the slicing missions the Design Triumvirate undertook. By now it was 50-50: half the time Marcia did the slicing, half the time Jessica did it.

"On the count of three, let the code injections begin!"

"Three, two, one, start!"

"That reminds me of the Sisterhood of Traveling Pants; they took turns trading away pants, but here it's about slicing missions"

"Hey, [member="Cla'Mari Rha"], you want some schematics? Describe to me what you want and we shall get it to the best of our abilities"

The very same that they met on Vulpter while raiding the dark-siders who became the very Rogue Sith everyone in the galaxy was scrambling to fight on the ground and in space. Somehow the data was corrupted for what Gallofree Yards wanted out of this, and couldn't be rebuilt, but maybe this time around the data will be clean. Also, since the dataspikes were 2-for-1, Jessica bought two so that Marcia could also have one for accelerating the code injections and whatnot.

She was looking at more of the things they were doing on all of it. The people were moving in their ships to different ones and she could see a dark blade or two.... maybe there would be an immortal as the ranger teams with them were communicating. "Master Ike we are moving into the carrier, the bays within the interior of this beast are what you were expecting, invasion craft and would supply an army with what they need to bring troops and many more things down. Doubtful they have sith or vongspawn here." Matsu was looking at it and if they had some of the supplies it could also mean some of the gear that had been developed here. She wanted to see what they could do. "Send out teams and look for data consoles, see if you are able to find any information about their sithspawn or weapons. Other teams move out and start looking at the other ships. We want to make a fair collection for ourselves to see what data we can attain." Matsu sat there and she saw other teams going out while tagging them on the map for organization. She wasn't greedy and wanted everything but at the same time getting some of the ships or some of the weapons to information could be crucial. She saw some had movement towards a dark blade while marking it off and some of the seeder ships were working on things they had. "[member="Makai Dashiell"] do you see any other dark blades out there?"

There were many designs that Ultimatum would have loved to obtain, truth be told it was likely that the droid could have taken advantage of the entire data storage. He could hardly expect [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] to download the entire network of information, thus he would need to find that which he wanted to gain access to. There was a simple method for that, he would need to overview the lists, not having actually witnessed the use of many One Sith ships. He had to break his attention now into various areas to keep moving the wheels of this capture.

The larger ship was entering the atmosphere, while Ultimatum replied to Jessica's message, "If you need any assistance, let me know and I will aid where I can." Once on surface, the droid hoped to be able to access databanks in the shipyards.

It was good news to hear that at least for now he had an alliance with one of the other salvagers. He too had no intention of fighting, but the organics were far too unpredictable when such a treasure trove of information was available. The droid wanted no war, no fighting, they were here to take advantage of the battle ongoing.

As fun as coming home with an Immortal would be, Firemane had rejected that option. The reason was quite simple: An Immortal was very powerful, but also a massive death trap. The first it was deployed in space, during the battle of Manaan, it was blown up.

So the Kerrigan-Alcori family business had settled for something more practical. Right now, they had their eye on a Wyyrlok-class Star Destroyer. Ideally, they'd also go home with a Dark Blade.

The message was received from the lead Salavia vessel. Elpsis was busy organising teams. No one was going to put the fiery redhead in charge of a warship or even a fleet, but she was good for boarding actions. She replied to the Salacia rep over a purely private channel.

The approach of the salvage vessels would be screened by Firemane fighter craft, the carrier could provide a solid barrier against potential enemy attack craft, transports were being launched.

"Here's Elpsis. Understood. All quiet on the western front, huh? We're preparing to send a team over to the Destroyer. Auntie Tegs and Auntie Siobhan send their regards. Say hi to the Tadpole from me." They'd had fun on Corellia, especially when zombies suddenly showed up!

"We will have to prioritize getting the schematics of what ships we will actually attempt stealing today"

"Sensors indicate that friendlies have begun stealing a Dark Blade and a Wyyrlok, captain" the sensor technician told the bridge crew.

"[member="Ultimatum"] Take the Dark Blade schematics, I will take the Wyyrlok: we shall upload all stolen schematics on a common database"

This meant the Dark Blade, the Wyyrlok, the Boneshatter classes and then the Exalt and the Immortal-class, and finally the Darr Itah. These were the six schematics Jessica was after, and the order is obvious now. The Ringo Vinda Territorial Defense Force could spare a team tasked with capturing a Boneshatter or two: that was the RVTDF's contribution to the battle for the Omega on Castameer. With the Ultima-class bulk freighter filled to the brim with parts for effecting reconditionings of ships, all the remaining living space onboard the freighter was devoted to the team. After all, she was a Silver Jedi but, as a Jedi, she had no lightsaber, and was not even issued a training lightsaber. But as she made her approach underneath a drydock where a Boneshatter was docked, with its topside docking port standing by for deployment and attachment to the enemy ship, Jessica began deploying ransomware disguised under critical system updates. Or rather, attached to said updates. The target file would be the access passwords file; if the passwords are deleted, then everyone and their dog can access it without one.

"Commence stealing the Boneshatter" Marcia ordered.

"Don't forget to ping the enemy network! That way we can be sure whether the ransomware is active or not"

"Torchbug? Er...Hello. Friendly I assume? Feel free to jump into the fray.Firemane is providing a bit of cover for our collective behinds."

Their speaking on the dreadnought was not public knowledge or broadcast over the comm channels. Mr.Zej grumbled slightly, concerned that their strategy was out in the open. Suggestions continued to pour in and the blue skin manned rubbed his chin. Perhaps the speaker saw the first wave of crews underway. He heaved a sigh and opened communications once again.

"Being a corporate entity, I'm sure a room full of engineers and project managers will oversee and decide the best course to take with said dreadnought. Salacia thanks you for your input and I'll be sure to pass your suggestions on to a higher power, so to speak."

Mr.Zej moved onto the next message from the Firemane crews.

"Quiet indeed. I see nothing on the front so far. Tadpole? Oh, the boy. He's here right now, about to send him out with the second wave of crews. Might see him floating around out there shortly."

Mr.Zej continued to coordinate while Makai was sent on to join the second wave of crews hitting the dreadnought. The first would use droids to override codes and gain access. The second would actually get systems up and running so the dreadnought could pull out of port and begin its journey to its new home. Much simpler than salvage, tearing the ship apart by pieces. Moving it whole was far more beneficial.

"Dreadnoughts? I'm sure there are more around, this planet has two shipyards. I urge some caution if you break away from the larger groups."

"Acknowledged, Salacia. Our fighters shall screen your approach. Firemane out." Back aboard the Argente-class carrier, which had been named Galina's Fire because Firemane had a bit of a cult of personality going as far as the matriarchal dynasty was concerned, Captain Moekalia Skaara was in command.

The Eldorai officer was busy coordinating the actions of the Firemane warships. So far, the system was fairly tranquil, but that could change easily. There was no Darr Itah Battlecruiser in sight, which was good because it was very unlikely the Sith would let such a prize slip from their hands. At least not without a very big fight.

"Dispatch Blue Squadron to cover the Salacia vessel. Inform Mistress Elaris that she may initiate boarding procedures. She knows her orders. No heroics," the naval officer spoke sternly. The young redhead was rather unruly, after all. Probably part and parcel of being part of the 'royal family'.

Meanwhile, having received the news, Elpsis joined the wave that hit the Wyrrlok: Operation Grand Theft Destroyer had been initiated. Shuttles and armoured boarding pods would descend upon the massive battleship. Firemane was eager to get it and would spare no expense. ARGH droids had been brought along to help gain access to the ship's systems. Once it was up and running, it would be hauled out.

A Star Destroyer coming out of hyperspace should've been expected over the planet of Castameer.

At its head was A'sharad Graush, High Colonel of the First Order, though on this day he didn't travel attached to them. No, this was solely for his own wants and needs.

It parked some distance away from the other ships that were likely heading and scouring the shipyards of Castameer.

Very well.

"Is my ship fuelled?"

"Yes, My Lord."

"Come, then." He said, and from there, he left the bridge. On either side of him were his most trusted warriors. Left and Right. Both of them Sith Warriors, or rather, Massassi from their homeworld Tantorus. They were related to him in some way, cousins probably, their bloodline didn't matter so much to him, but rather their skills. And those skills entailed killing.

Something that the Sith Knight was quite fond of.

Within a few minutes they were on the Daisya Infiltrator within the Hangar of the red and black Star Destroyer.

His pilot lifted the ship off immediately, pre-flight checks already having been completed and the three Sith Warriors were on the way for the nearest shipyard. He didn't need the One Sith ships, not exactly. He more needed their designs and schematics.

Matsu continued on as the Saratai moved through it, their ranger's and troopers were working on more of the things. Developing and linking in when they were moving the carriers out of the area while others were moving towards some fo the other ships that they had there. Wanting to roll over with some fo the attention to everything else. The heavily shielded and heavily plated ship could handle plenty of punishment in terms of what it was going after and they could continue to produce the crew needed as one of the ships docked quickly. The Saratai's droids and production going off to start crewing it with the newest droids they could get. "Remember minimal exposure and work to ensure we are protected then send the ships off towards some of our worlds within the silver space. The new shipyards we have been reactivating can begin for us the breakdown and analysis of the ships."

She got nods of approval while they were moving off to search through the ship yards and she had been hoping to see [member="Reshmar"] or [member="Relina Zhan"] here, the chance to look at some of the stronger and albiet more dangerous ships within the sith arsenal could have been a tempting prospect. Matsu herself was going over the list and a number of the ships here she could see them adjusting the modular interior fo the carrier and literally storing them in there. It was large enough for some but that would only work so well in the end. THey could handle more of it and the ability to produce more droids quickly to crew the ships they were taking off while they set up additional parts to it look over designs and replicate with the manufacturing shipyards or ships they had designed. "Have the AI's working to start replication and production in the stations themselves.

"The Darr Itah schematics are nowhere to be found, scratch it off our wishlist"

"I don't know what I would do without your mechu-deru..."

"A new contact has entered the system. Flying First Order crests" the communications officer told the ladies. "Channel open"

"Although I sense the dark side around you, I do not mean to hurt you for the time being. Since we are stealing schematics, if so you wish, we can transmit any schematics we steal if you pay the appropriate sums to be negotiated in due course. Dark Blade and Wyyrlok schematics will soon be ours provided the enemy passwords file is erased"

Jessica's mechu-deru would be able to detect the contents of a data system and how big the file is. Meanwhile, the Sith counter-slicers at the other end got asked for critical updates and they were to pay this many credits before the passwords file would be destroyed. Her Force-power was too limited to ensure that the ransom asked by the ransomware would actually be paid or considered paid by the other party. The passwords file encryption began in earnest, whereas the next target would replace all the username IDs with those of the admins. Marcia was deployed in a more defensive slicing role: Jessica would have to take on the more offensive roles. Now that they have entered the computer technical mainframe, due to the enemy reluctance to pay the costs, But the team that has begun stealing the Boneshatter was going to report back on their progress as they entered the ship as close to the bridge as possible.

"Boneshatter 1 insertion complete, will secure the bridge" the team communications officer told back to Jessica et al.

"Open a channel to [member="Cla'Mari Rha"] before you have her board the stolen Boneshatter if we steal it"

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

They travelled through the Space that the Shipyards encompassed.

Soon enough they were entering an empty Hangar Bay, save for random ship parts that clearly hadn't made the cut.

"Stay sharp," A'sharad had said to the two Sith Warriors on either side of him. It was good that both of them always found a way to be on the correct side of things. Those things being him. He pushed a hand through his hair, finally messy now that he wasn't in an Imperial uniform.

No, now, he bore armour that had once been apart of a One Sith armoury cache, and a black cloak that was typical of most Sith.

"Kill anyone that gets in our way," he says as their ship entered the hangar bay, rotated about so that its front was to the entrance and then touched down on the Hangar Bay Flooring.

The ramp opened up for the trio and then they descended.
