Grand Theft Starship

As it turned out, the enemy was where anticipated, the hangar was locked down and scans from the landed vessel waiting to be loaded showed a large number of organics in the room beyond. If time had allowed, Ultimatum would have preferred to capture the command deck, seal the hangar and release a soporific gas into the vents aimed at the hangar. Then they could have quite easily collected whatever was within and no more violence would have been necessary. However, every moment that the organics had in there they were probably deleting files and destroying equipment. That meant that to get the most out of this, Ultimatum would have to attack now.

That was it then, the Hybrids commanded their droids to begin bashing in the three door entries. Ultimatum had decided that the droids would be the least likely to die and the easiest to replace. Ultimatum had the V-1s set up a defensive barrier and prepare a few overseers to launch grenades as soon as the doors were down. It was a matter of timing, specifically, flashbangs would be fired and then the droids would move in to deal with the organics. If it still proved to dangerous then plasma grenades would be fired and the V-1s and Ultimatum would charge at that point. Ultimatum took the time to send orders to the other droids and cyborgs for once the hangar was theirs. They would not have long, Ultimatum wanted to leave as soon as possible.

"Third crew away." Mr.Zej spoke into the internal communications, watching the tow ships launch. Due to the massive size of the Dark Blade, it was took a miniature fleet to actually pull the large dreadnought out of its docked space. ARGH droids continued to chatter as they worked in the engine room control panels, releasing docking arms and firing up systems.

"Err...sure..." Tygara, yeah. Makai had heard enough stories to know not to exactly jump at the chance for a visit." Sea Sprite is interesting. Abregado-Rae isn't too far from Fondor, right? We'll practically be neighbors! Don't think I'm going to stay long, this dreadnought will be there awhile."

"I might go visit [member="Myra Elspeth"] or something, not sure."

The doors fell with a clash and blaster fire followed immediately. A few seconds passed as the droids waited until the fire had slowed. Ultimatum moved to the side of the entrance and watched as the grenades were fired. Loud blasts followed and Ultimatum moved in immediately. There were a few shots, but they were wild and did not target anything. It was time to attack, the organics had been debilitated temporarily and the advantage had to be pushed. V-1s and droids began to rush into the room, picking targets and shooting. While he fired as well, Ultimatum was more concerned with the ships he saw. Most appeared to have been scuttled, an issue that would need considerable repair once they were taken to the Foresight, but then it also saved Ultimatum's workers time cutting them apart.

The guards fought well, given their disadvantages. As their numbers began to dwindle, many raced to the largest vessel in the room, some form of corvette, Ultimatum looked forward to breaking it down and learning form it. Of course, it might be reconstructed and adjusted so as to become a usable vessel within LOOM's fleet. However, right now it stood as an obstacle to the mission. He would not have it destroyed if possible. The organics were losing, that much was evident, it was only a matter of time. Ultimatum moved to a computer, the security room had not had access to hangar controls and in order to allow the fastest scavenging the shields would have to go down.

He began looking through programs, and found that a large number of schematics, intended to allow for repairing ships, had been deleted. However, there were a few files that Ultimatum could rebuilt. He downloaded those before moving to the controls. These had not been damaged, probably the guards had left them in case they could have won the fight, but they were not. The droid sliced the controls and lowered the shielding to the hangar. His workers could now enter and begin collecting what remained. Once the last enemies were defeated they would be able to pull apart the ship and transport it to the waiting transport.

"Yeah, it's practically next door. And filled with eccentric robots who talk too much," Elpsis remarked. Clearly her views on droid emancipations were rather unenlightened. She really needed to become more progressive. "Who's Myra? You didn't tell me about her."

One of the Firemane engineers got her attention. The tow ships had been launched and now a miniature fleet was pulling the Wyyrlok out of its docking space. "Seems like we're moving the ship. Talk to you later. Say hi to Myra...and your dad from me." Elpsis was quite sexist, but the Dashiells were decent enough for her to overlook that. Perhaps it helped that she disliked most Eldorai.

The "105" broke away from the pack and began to move into position over the corvette space yard. Finding one in near completed condition Cla'Mari had her weapons officer precisely at the clamps holding the ship in place. Soon the unnamed corvette began to drift free from its' home and they went to work tractoring it into position.

"Comm office, inform our friends we have what we came for and will soon me leaving the system with our prize."

This was the end, the last remnants of resistance were trapped in the hold of the ship. Their first attempt had been to arm some form of self-destruct on the ship, but the V-1s had anticipated this and forced them out of the bridge. From there it was a losing battle for the guards, outnumbered, outgunned, and unprepared. They had little hope of actually winning the fight, all they could do was make the victory as painful as possible a mission that they had taken to with apparent great joy. They were using whatever they had on hand to burn holes in the vessel, destroy computers, and set bombs in place. They were loyal to their cause, Ultimatum gave them that.

However their foolishness led to a lack of secure area. While at first the sealed doors and broken hatches slowed the droid's forces, once they had broken into the hold the enemy was too busy damaging the ship to truly focus an effective defense. It was a quick fight at this point, there was nothing left now except to pull the ship apart and begin the transfer. A process that Ultimatum would have helped in, except that he was turning his attention to the mainframe and attempting to take all he could from it. It was a complex system, with security jacking up as time went on. It would probably have been a good thing if he had taken the command center, then at least he would have access to unprotected systems.

As it turned out, pretty much as expected, the damage done had only made the scavenging process easier, though Ultimatum feared the reconstruction. However, he had found a schematic that he decided would be most intriguing to take advantage of, a reconnaissance corvette with a limited interdiction field. Definitely something that he could look into. While at the same time he had also found a tank design that appeared to have been used recently. Nothing particularly special, but worth the effort of downloading.

-----------------

It was time to go by the time the information had been transferred to his systems. Ultimatum was unsure how much time he would have had left on the planet, how much longer it would be safe actually, but he had what he came for. A ship and some schematics with which he could study and prepare a more advanced vessel. There was no need to stay any longer, with that he decided to bid the planet adieu. He hoped that all the others who had taken part in the exploration had found what they searched for, he had. There was nothing more to be concerned about, the escape from the planet was hardly an issue, given the tumultuous nature had not completely disappeared from the planet as of yet. The cover of battle was more perfect than any stealth system. So they took a few shots, the shields could handle it. Freedom was obtained and Ultimatum turned his attention to the work to be done, deciding to no longer pay attention to the planet or its occupants, there was more important work to be done.

"Ellie? Uh...I...uh..." Makai struggled for decent words, trying to tell Elpsis about his friend. "I will tell you later. Our ship is moving too, finally. I'll be in contact. Looks like we're going to be moving shortly."

Makai ended his comm call with [member="Elpsis Elaris"] and slipped the device back in his pocket. He would be riding on board with the fleet of odd ARGH droids and their incessant conversations and the handful of engineers. There was always something to do though. Explore the ship. Schoolwork. Mess around with the ARGH droids.

Next stop Fondor.

"Are you sweet on her? C'mon, you can tell me." That's right, tell your moderately annoying big sister everything! Alas, it seemed they both had to move on. "Alright. See you later. You got my number. Or your dad has it." The comm call was ended and soon the Wyrrlok, and with it the small flotilla of Firemane ships, vanished from the system, leaving Castamere behind it.

Presumably Elpsis kept herself busy: Exploring the Star Destroyer, training and meditation, seducing a cute engineer. Next stop: Abregado-Rae. Eventually, the battleship would go on a voyage to Tygara.
