Holoflix is the name for a company that performs two functions. Primarily, Holoflix is a subscription-based HoloNet streaming service for legally accessing and viewing proprietary holovid programming, such as the holodrama cult classic Gar-Jen vs. Gargantua. As a secondary function, the company also produces original holovid programming. To accomplish this, Holoflix operates two studios in order to reduce the costs of shooting scenes. Studio 1A is located on Tralus and serves as the primary production studio warehouse for Holoflix original programming. A smaller stage, Studio 1B, is located underground on the planet Selonia. The server back-up for the work being done on Tralus and Selonia is located at one of Corellia Digital's warehouses in the city of Mecha, on Drall. Funding for Holoflix is underwritten by Corellia Digital's private banking firm, Corell Financial. Marketing is handled by Holoflix, though Corellia Digital's HoloNet search algorithms work to help bring Holoflix adverts to additional audiences. Once a completed program is ready for broadcast, bandwidth is provided by Corellia Digital and the signal is repeated through the myriad subspace relay stations seeded throughout Alliance, Commenor, Silver Jedi, Mara-Perlemian, Tingel Arm, Metal Lords, and Kathol Outback space. Simulcast broadcast of popular local programming is available in some, but not all, cases.
RATIONALE
Holoflix is a logical follow-on to Corellia Digital's test of its ability to stream content across the HoloNet, which they did when Corellia Digital broadcast the Radio Free Coruscant concert in a simulcast from Coruscant to Demonsgate, Sullust, and Voss in 847 ABY. Using the communications broadband infrastructure that Corellia Digital has built across the lower galactic map, Holoflix serves to ensure new and continued holovid entertainment programming is supplied for a low monthly subscription price. Whether working with emerging talents or recycling old favorites in syndication, Corellia Digital sees Holoflix as the perfect means by which to capitalize on the two areas of the market that the company dwells in most: Holographic entertainment and HoloNet access. In keeping with Corellia Digital's charity work with TKO Search & Rescue and the Silver Jedi Antarian Rangers, local news programming and emergency services broadcasts are provided free of charge.
