Question Gifs as avatars not working

Hello!

I have been trying to upload a gif as my avatar today but it does not seem to be working.

This is the gif in question and the file size and image dimensions seem to be correct based on recommendations from other writers. However, even when I resized it to 150x150 to see if that would work it became a still image after uploading.

Wondering if maybe I am doing something wrong or I maybe missed something?

Dimensions need to be exactly 192 x 192 to work - two seconds, resizing for ya

Adhira Chandra Here ya go, verified to work on my alt (Tester 001)

192 x 192 is the key, it won't work otherwise. Enjoy!

Edit: There is definitely a bug here. Worked upon being uploaded, refreshed, and is not working. Looking into it, pls hold.

Getting rid of some frames might do the trick. I had 150 on my avatar and just used 50 and it worked.

It works when I go to the upload screen, but everywhere else is broken. Holding for Metus

I tested this out Friday night with several avatars. I can confirm new uploads are currently not displaying properly.

I've tweaked the image to be well under 50 frames, but no dice - the preview works on the upload screen but everywhere else it's stuck on the first image. This is the case for any gifs I have - not just this image as well.

I also tried to upload this to the site with Gravatar - but this didn't show the gif as well. This is making me believe it's a bug with the site/server itself. Adhira Chandra

400px x 400px is the maximum mot just 192x192, it reduces everything to the right size. My pictures were also made that way and I uploaded them with 400x400.

Ingrid L'lerim Right after the switch my 400 x 400 attempts always failed, figured out that 192 x 192 was the sweet spot that generally worked -

Once this is fixed, I'm deffo going back to 400 x 400 if it's working now!

2-3 weeks ago the 400x400 pixel was good and worked, I uploaded Xanesh's and Reidun's avatars then.

I can also confirm this bug, New GIF avatar uploads don't work for me either, even at 400x400 or 192x192 and the one I've been using is 43 frames long.

Been having some troubles as well. Whenever you click/tap on the photo of my avatar it plays, but it’s static on the board. The size is currently at 192x192.

Any help/advice?

Djorn Bline until they start working again I’d suggest using a regular old avatar. Then we pray to the avatar gods that the issue gets resolved.
