What kind of car do you drive (if any): 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. It’s old as sin but my neighbors sold it to me on the cheap and it still (usually) works so thumbs up

What brought you to writing?: To keep it short, it seemed like a fun escape when I was really in need of something new.

What keeps you writing?: I was right! Also, the people. I never expected to actually get to know anyone here coming in, but I like to think I’ve made a couple worthwhile connections : )

Favorite character (mine): Amani doy

  10. What brought you to writing? English I, III, and IV in high school. Getting into chat-room or chat-based RP's in Yahoo, in the 90's. Took a few months off, couldn't keep up with speedy one-liner RPers anymore. (T2 for the old folks in the room.) Got into paragraph style RP/T1 (turn-based) ... Took to it like a duck and water. Have never looked back.

The list goes on.
  15. What keeps you writing on Chaos?: Big community, so many stories to tell. Anything is possible. And lots of good people, and solid writers. And it's STAR WARS! It's everything I could want.

  13. Favorite character: oh god this'll be a list won't it; so, for starters, Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser is up there, because of all the old #TeamSameName jokes and also because he's just generally great, Romi Jade Romi Jade for initiating the #BootyJedi joke and creating a not-so-secret space instagram with nothing but Cotan's butt on it, Joycelyn Zambrano Joycelyn Zambrano Darth Prazutis Darth Prazutis and Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex for being fun Sith to go up against with Cotan (srsly tho y y'all gotta dwarf him like that smh), Vaulkhar Vaulkhar was always a favourite, Lark Lark too (sorry for not actually writing that fight on Korriban life got a bit busy for three characters in two invasions), I've been greatly enjoying the budding dynamic between Cotan and Ryv Ryv and also the one with Auteme Auteme (sorry for lumping you in with this riff-raff tho), and then there's loads beyond this but I've already mentioned enough here I think

What kind of car do you drive: Dodge minivan
What brought you to writing? Once upon a time there was an owlish eleven-year-old with a special blue binder where he wrote his first story, complete with spaceship designs that diverged defiantly from his precious Galoob Action Fleet SW ships.
What keeps you writing? I can't not. It's in my blood now.
What keeps me coming back to Chaos? Friendships for sure. Community is in short supply IRL these days.
Favorite character: I've written M A N Y. But right now my favorite is probably Quill, my neurodiverse hermit with social anxiety. I friggin' love writing Quill.
Favorite character: Seydon of Arda Seydon of Arda , not a doubt in my mind. Other longtime standouts over the years: Spencer Varanin Spencer Varanin , Dissero Dissero , Natasi Fortan Natasi Fortan , Tai Fa (may he rest in peace Arage Bao Arage Bao ), Tiland Kortun Tiland Kortun , Daiya Daiya , Zef Halo Zef Halo , Popo (blessings upon him), Anaya Fen - that's who comes to mind offhand on a character-uniqueness level.
Favorite character: (non-rp, can be anything from Star Wars, to Marvel, anime, whatever): Amos Burton from The Expanse (show version). Also a fan of John Smith from Man in the High Castle, though I obviously hate him; Inspector Kido is great too. Kate Holland from Devolution: A Firsthand Account of the Rainier Sasquatch Massacre. Andy from the Old Guard graphic novels. (Charlize Theron did a good job in the film.) Beth Harmon from Queen's Gambit.

Also, with apologies to Jacen Nimdok Jacen Nimdok :

Alright, you got me...

Name: Spark

Age range: 35

Occupation: None.

Where do you live?: Georgia - maybe Florida soon...

Single? Involved? Engaged/Married?: Happily Married.

Hobbies other than writing: PC Games, Drawing/Editing on Photoshop, Legos man, Legos - although that is a new hobby.

Favorite Food: Pizza. Hands down. Love cooking though, I really love cooking. I enjoy making stuff from nothing. :D

Favorite thing to do on a day off: I have had days off for about six years now, when I was working - it would be to write on Chaos and what not.

What kind of care do you drive: (If any) N/A

What brought you to writing? I always dabbled in MUDs (Multi-User Dungeons) and before that I was writing in 1999-2003 on Yahoo! Chat, only went to forum RP when YChat died out. What brought me was the escape from reality, the desire to put my two cents to the Star Wars Universe and just create man, create the good stuff.

What keeps you writing? Ah, that is the crux of my life at the moment. I don't know. I keep writing because I enjoy it, but I don't enjoy it because I lose steam and motivation for the story. I'll be as candid as possible, I hate writing alone. I can do it and will do it to fulfill a purpose but I am driven by the enjoyment that others get for the stories that we make together. Weird, no? Maybe not, but still! I would eventually like to figure it out and stick with it.

Favorite character: (yours) - Aaralyn Rekali was my favorite during the height of the Galactic Republic and the One Sith. Now? Unsure.

Favorite character: (others) - This is a loaded question, but I'll give the best answer possible: Anyone who writes with me. Now, if we're narrowing down to favorites or whatever, I do enjoy Darth Metus Darth Metus and alot of his stories. Adron Malvern Adron Malvern is top notch too! Amz Amz Amz Amz Amz Amz ! Cannot stress enough the aesthetically pleasing characters she develops! :) Then of course, we have some oldies but goodies like: Allyson Locke Allyson Locke - I loved the stories with Fiore and Mira. Absolutely, loved Fiore. Then we cannot forget the Owl, Ilias Nytrau Ilias Nytrau ! Every faithful(?) husband in Falcon Rekali. We also have the man who is responsible for me coming to Chaos, Jend-Ro Quill Jend-Ro Quill . Of course, that is just the old school people that I have known for a time. EDIT: I lied, I forgot about my favorites like Mia Monroe and Siobhan Kerrigan Siobhan Kerrigan . There are alot of new people I enjoy following and reading, which is good. New blood is always good! :) EDIT:I should mention some of the newer people (To me atleast) Ryv Ryv is an awesome content creator for sure, then you have Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim - aesthetically pleasing and fluid. You also got like Kiff Brayde Kiff Brayde - something bout the character. narrows eyes oh and my favorite League character - Kaalia Pavanos Kaalia Pavanos .

Favorite character: (non-rp, can be anything from Star Wars, to Marvel, anime, whatever) - Tony Stark/Iron Man, Queen Azshara from Warcraft.

What keeps you writing? At the moment, I am not. Think the answer is somewhere up there but I struggle to maintain solid, continuous stories. I think the creative aspect, the enticement and thrill of making something unique and fun for everyone. The development of characters, the despair, the death, the injuries, the drama, the action - all of it. We are the masters of our destiny, the captains of our ship - we set the tone. Probably one big reason why I keep doing it.

Where do you live?: Kansas City, Missouri (when I'm not in school)

Single? Involved? Engaged/Married?: Involved

Hobbies other than writing: D&D! DMing, homebrew, and worldbuilding. Also video games and (when I'm being very very good) research nonfiction writing.

Favorite Food: French fries!

Favorite thing to do on a day off: Design for D&D, or just absolutely veg with a Twitch stream

What kind of car do you drive (if any): A lender

What brought you to writing?: Amani Serys Amani Serys ! On Chaos, anyway. For writing in general, I think reading other people's work inspired me to start writing myself. Brian Phillips' essay The Sea of Crises was especially impactful (i.e. my favorite written thing bar none).

What keeps you writing?: Lines. A lot of the time I'm just writing to clear my throat for that one electric line that I reread again and again, and that I can walk away really proud of. All my other writing is just to keep spry.

Favorite character (mine): This shouldn't be hard, seeing as I only have three... Listen, Risen is my first and greatest baby, but I have never had more fun writing than when I write Rag Rag

Favorite character (others): Cato Harth Cato Harth is always a blast to read. Joycelyn Zambrano Joycelyn Zambrano was so so cool to write with. Auteme Auteme (who I haven't really written with, but hello) really opened my eyes to what a character on this site can be.

Favorite character (non-rp): I will say Sylphrena from Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archive, because if I said Kokichi Oma from Danganronpa V3 I would be put in the worst kind of prison.

  10. What brought you to writing?: I love stories. I think as humans we thrive on storytelling. It gives us a sense of ourselves, if that makes any sense. Anyway, as a kid I started playing a Telenet style MUD called Legends of the Jedi. I was on there for YEARS but eventually wanted to get into more abstract ways of RPing. So my first play-by-post experience was on Jedi.net. It was okay. I spent several years writing on some other sites before landing here! Also I love poetry and have been reading/writing it for years.
  11. What keeps you writing?: Others have said that it's an outlet and I'd say that's probably the simplest answer I can give.
  12. Favorite character: (mine) Beltran Rarr Beltran Rarr for sure. He started out with the intent to be something completely different from what he's becoming. He allows me to explore moral questions and play with the neutral alignment. Also he's basically a walking action movie trailer sequence and that's always fun.
  13. Favorite character: (others) Oooof this gonna be a list. Okay. So my old homie Valkren Calderon Valkren Calderon will always have a special place in my heart. I'm a big fan of Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim . 7. Favorite Food: Tatar beefsteak
  8. Favorite thing to do on a day off: To be lazy, to play RPG, to achieve I finally have time for everything.
  9. What kind of care do you drive: N/A (I don't have a license)
  10. What brought you to writing?: Jealousy. I’m also a little ashamed to admit it, but I’ve never received recognition from my family for anything in life. Grandparents and everyone talked about my cousin, how skillful and she started writing, and how well she does it. I wanted to show that I could do it too, I was 16 years old.
  11. What keeps you writing?: Although I still write easier and better in my own language... but I like to express myself in writing, it’s easier and simpler than verbally (true in both English and Hungarian). I like to play with others or just write short stories, novels. It helps me relax and by writing I can escape to a better place from real life.
  12. Favorite character: (mine) Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim , I love what she became here, how different she became from the previous two versions of her.

  14. Favorite character: (non-rp) Anomander Rake, Dancer and Kellanved (Malazan universe), Loki (the female version from the comics), Namor (Marvel again), Quinlan Vos, Xesh and Shea Koda, Varian Wrynn
  15. What keeps you writing? In general, because I like to tell stories and my characters don't let me live if I'm not writing. It feels especially good when others love them too. This is my favorite hobby, I can't stand more than a day or two of not writing something.
And here on Chaos? Because of the fantastic community. And I am really grateful and happy to be a member of that. And special thanks to AMCO AMCO for walking into my first dominion with his character in May (2020) and I could get to know him and his character. If that doesn’t happen, I probably wouldn’t be here anymore. :)

Be careful what you wish for.
I'll add my "Chaos" one too!

What keeps you writing on Chaos? The passion each of you shows to your characters, Takui Takui and his ever-present crisis of faith, Ryv Ryv , and how he has "old school" tendencies but he is not, Alina Tremiru Alina Tremiru She's a Sith tried and true, but she is not at the same time. Desbre Gensan Desbre Gensan is ever-growing and coming into her own on every level. Aveline Cuiléin Aveline Cuiléin has some items on her plate that is going to be great to read. Oshil Oshil - This character is someone worth reading, trust me, you'll see. Beltran Rarr Beltran Rarr - This guy is a Special Ops Master and has a heart (not something all Operators have), I like him and am glad that Omega Squad doesn't have to go up against Team Paladin! Tefka Tefka may not have a character that I have read(He may, not sure yet) but he cracks me up. Jsc Jsc - Speaking of cracking up... 2009 baby!

What brought you to writing?: Jealousy. I’m also a little ashamed to admit it, but I’ve never received recognition from my family for anything in life.

That's grim. Consider yourself recognized for your vibrant character and faction leadership, especially since you took over from a founder who bailed - that's a tough spot to be in. Keep doing what you're doing; they are good things.

he could make ordering lunch feel like a super spooky supernatural encounter.

The Elder cast a dread gaze onto the chatroom, his sickly form was partially submerged in darkness, obscuring his ritualistic scars. Along his cheek was the festering remains of ketchup, as he opened his mouth a wretched cloud of onion smelling miasma rolled forth.

"At last. The bacon, it is in your lunch." His voice bellowed and distorted, "Our lunch."

Beltran Rarr Beltran Rarr

Alright I'll give it a go

  7. Favorite Food: Steak
  8. Favorite thing to do on a day off: Relax and destress in any way I can
  9. What kind of care do you drive: 2018 Dodge Ram
  10. What brought you to writing?: Back in high school, I had some friends show me a roleplay forum for Star Wars, I gave it a try and branched out into dozens of other genres like VTM and Cyberpunk 2020. I played both tabletop and play by post forum. I just love to write stories and expand the creative muscles.
  11. What keeps you writing?: I'm a storyteller, I can't stop now
  12. Favorite character: (mine) Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis is starting to become my all time fav.
  13. Favorite character: (others) I can't decide on one. I'd say Daella Apparine Daella Apparine is still one of my all time favorites from the One Sith days. Cedric Grayson Cedric Grayson 's old character Graxin Rade, my Jedi's former master and all the fun with the Ession days. The Dark Man The Dark Man and his Red Raven Lysle of the Hydian Way Lysle of the Hydian Way . Beltran Rarr Beltran Rarr hands down makes the cut as an absolute favorite as well from our interactions and writing style. He is a walking, talking, badass with a knack for danger and no fear. Can't wait to see how he continues to develop.
  14. Favorite character: (non-rp, can be anything from Star Wars, to Marvel, anime, whatever) Dracula, Madara Uchiha, Luke Skywalker
  15. What keeps you writing? #Can'tStopWon'tStop

  2. Age range: Just turned 32
  3. Occupation: Research assistant at the Institute of Contemporary History.
  4. Where do you live?: Berlin, Germany.
  5. Single? Involved? Engaged/Married?: Single
  6. Hobbies other than writing: Reading (History, but also novels), TV shows, music, doing stuff with friends. Previously video games. Used to play those a lot, but somewhere down the line I just stopped.
  7. Favorite Food: Like noodles - Italian or Chinese. Also Shepherd's Pie and macaroni cheese.
  8. Favorite thing to do on a day off: Reading, writing.
  9. What kind of care do you drive: (If any) Don't drive
  10. What brought you to writing? Started writing SW stories after coming across an rp board that grew out of people posting icly on a Bioware Kotor forum a lot till they got told to take it elsewhere. Also wrote some unfinished non-SW stories around that time. One was a near future story that looks awkward now. I thought it was dystopian, but the real world is making it look almost utopian, but I digress.
  11. What keeps you writing? I just enjoy doing it. It's part of me now and a means of expressing myself. Also a way of dealing with disturbing stuff I have to read as part of my present job - or see on the news.
  12. Favorite character: (yours) Varies, but presently it's Elpsis. She's the most dynamic at the moment. Elpsis' clone Kyriaki also merits a mention since I'm doing a solo thread just for her. Enyo is close, too, though the main parts of her arc have been played out. Her nihilism is quite refreshing in invasions where people are taking things too seriously, though.
  13. Favorite character: (others) Honourable mentions for people not active on the board, but whose chars are great: Matsu Xiangu Matsu Xiangu , Maris Fero Maris Fero , Six-O Six-O , L Laira Darkhold . As for people who are here, in no particular order: Loske Treicolt Loske Treicolt , AMCO AMCO , Daiya Daiya . Tai Fa also merits a mention ( Arage Bao Arage Bao ), Aerarii Tithe Aerarii Tithe , Runi Verin Runi Verin .
  14. Favorite character: John Smith and Inspector Kido(both are utterly despicable, but they're written as nuanced human beings rather than caricatures...just like real henchmen of totalitarian dictatorships) from the Man in the High Castle; Tywin, Cersei and Sansa (excluding the way the narrative did the last two dirty) from Game of Thrones; Faith, Wesley, Lilah and Illyria from Angel.
  15. What keeps me coming back to Chaos? Friendships, interest. I'm not invested in the site politics or the map. I also rp elsewhere. But I still got stuff to write.

  12. Favorite character (mine): Pomsty
  13. Favorite character (someone else's): I think everyone knows.
  14. Favorite character (non-rp): Severus Snape. I did write for this character on a RP site.

Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor I encouraged blowing up Potions Class! That was a decade and a half ago. I had such a blast. Knowing the other writers were younger than I, I thought they might like to read their stories again someday. The site collapsed in numbers since, deleting much or the writing without warning to members. I saved many of the threads to my computer and recently promised them I would repost them into a google doc when I have time.

I have one of my character's story I saved to a doc file, and imagine it would make a fine coffee table book if only the other writer would consent.
