D O M I N U S
Well gang, the time has come to get some faction-wide activity going; and I can't think of a better way to do so than through a Dominion! Over the past couple weeks, a lot of changes have been made and divisions have been flip-flopped about; but now that we're pretty much static, I'd like to get the ball rolling again. So, without any further ado, I'm proud to announce our next dominion: Torolis. Here's the Plan!
Plot
Torolis began as a thriving colony world within Bothan space. At a glance, the planet was a desolate mass of desert, sand, dust...and did I mention sand? Yet underneath the ocean of dirt laid a precious assortment of raw materials that were invaluable to the Bothan people. As such, Torolis existed mainly as a mining world and had a rather large population housed within its capital city. However, when the Gulag Plague broke out, the planetary borders shut down and a Galaxy-wide quarantine began. This cut off Torolis from the remainder of Bothan space, which was where their vital supplies (food, water, medicine, etc.) came from. With millions cooped up within a city and barely enough goods to go around, civilized society broke. After a handful of years, the survivors resulted to cannibalism and a crazed, scavenger culture began to form. With the rise of these "Scavs" came the abandonment of key facilities on the world; namely a Jedi Praxeum, the Capital City, a Military Base, and the main Mining Facility.
Skip ahead to the present. The Galaxy has recovered from the plague and the Bothan people now seek to reclaim their lost colony world. Having amassed a congregation of ships and resources, the Confederacy is now reaching out to the desert planet in order to bring it into the fold.
Objective A: Jedi Praxeum
As aforementioned, one of the key locations abandoned during the outbreak of the Gulag Plague was a Jedi Praxeum. Currently in ruins and built in the side of a mountain ridge, the Praxeum is worth investigation. For those who are fans of archaeological digs and Indiana Jones, this objective is for you. Investigate the ruins of the Jedi Praxeum and report back your findings.
Objective B: Capital City
The Capital City is the literal cesspool that most of the Scavs call home. Having now devolved to a point where reasoning is out of the question, militant force is required to clear out the former metropolis. This step is vital in establishing a permanent foothold on the world and thereby falls to military-minded personnel. Clear out the city of the Scav population and keep an eye on the sky; as there are some nasty, reptilian beasts who love swooping down and munching on unsuspecting prey.
Objective B(2): The Skies Above
As aforementioned, Torolis has some nasty, flying fauna. These beasts can dwarf a starfighter and are practically the apex predator on the world. It is absolutely crucial to the operation that these threats be eliminated; thereby ensuring the safety of the personnel below. Pilots, this one belongs to you!
Objective C: Military Base
Prior to the plague, the planet's defense grid was tied to a sole military base. Now, long since abandoned, the overgrown facility is in dire need of updates if it is to function again. The goal here is to reactivate the planetary defenses in addition to gather any information/schematics that could be useful. Anyone who's an engineer/mechanic/interested, this one's all yours.
Objective D: The Mines
For those sensitive to the Force, simply landing upon Torolis will result in a recognition of a rather prevalent, Dark Side presence. After the appearance of a Terentatek upon Nar Chunna, there can be no chances...the source of this darkness must be investigated. It is coming from the old mining facility that practically put the planet on the map. For those who so choose, the task of diving into the ruined facility and seeking out the cause of this wellspring of evil is all yours.
