Arena Galaxy of Competition | Open |

b1ce6b0c-96a9-49f7-a628-902fba0e0772.jpg

The crowd cheered as several contestants clashed in close combat with one another, vibro-weapons humming violently against one another. Threatening to shred their metal blades and send fragments through the air. In another corner of the arena a heated firefight between blaster wielding gunslingers impressed with not only their physical agility but their volleys of colorful blaster bolt exchanges.

Seasoned warfighters wearing scraps of Imperial Stormtrooper armor held their ground against Gamorrean axemen wearing Hutt Cartel livery. Mandalorian verd rocketed past one another in aerial jousts as a monstrous looking alien picked up a competitor and threw him against the ground with a thud - to the thunderous cheers of spectators.

Credits of all types and ages were strewn about the gambling tables as bookies, bet takers, stakeholders, gamblers, and merchants shouted above one another in increasingly zealous ways. Among it all was A'ti, a familiar face and name among the criminal underground but one that had not surfaced since the bloody dissolution of the Hutt Space Consortium.

Invitations had gone out on public broadcast, brazenly inviting all interested competitors to test themselves in the recently constructed arena of Hoth. Since the conclusion of the Second Great Hyperspace War and the subsquent chaos that ensued in the riveting conclusions of the saga of war, order in much of the Galaxy had been thrown to the wayside. Never before had the Galaxy been so
liberated of multistellar conglomerates, federations, confederacies, and empires. The frontiers had returned and with it the societies, vices, and activities that had been suppressed by these superpowers.

A'ti stood from her elevated seat, credit chits and ingots slid from her lap and arm rests as she did so "What's this? Our Arena grows empty!" the Twi'lek lifted her hands in an inviting manner to the crowd of onlookers and potential competitors as several small droids zipped around her feet and collected the currency "Who will fill it? Step forward! Share in the wealth and glory!" as she spoke a small droid hovered before her, acting as a microphone which caused her voice to boom across the stands and arena "Fight until you can fight no more or until none are left before you! Every third credit cast in your name shall be yours!" her expression became sly and challenging "Should you make it."

The Twi'lek lowered her arms and motioned dramatically to a large display above the arena as the center of the grounds separated and revealed a rising platform full of new contestants "New talent, new wagers, have entered the Arena!" she pointed at one of the contestants and declared "Ten thousand credits on my new champions!" with such a bold claim made by the organizer, the betting tables were inundated with new wagers. Complete chaos reigned in the audience as several brawls continued within the arena.

The arena had, for now, become the single largest combat sporting event in the Outer Rim. And perhaps the largest gambling site outside of Nar Shaddaa.

OOC Note: Anyone who wishes can declare their Character to be A'tis champion. The rules remain the same regardless: Fight until you drop or until only you remain. Wagers are made along the lines of how long a competitor remains standing/how many compeititors they've downed. Non-combatant type characters are more than welcome to join A'ti or any other character in the audience.

A champion for none other than her own master—the Queen of Eliad, Saryn Zambrano—with a precise, synthetic gaze, Lucia Naberrie took in the ongoing bouts as she was lowered into the arena via one of the moving platforms. At her master’s pleasure, the gynoid had worked a catwalk as a fashion model, hunted down a gang of spice dealers, and put down a ravenous cult of fish aliens. Naturally, it wasn’t a stretch for the gynoid to be cast into an arena as her master’s champion. By now, Lucia had distinguished herself from the other gynoids of her model as a warrior-assassin. When it came to all things violent and combative, she was a specialist.

Stepping off as the platform hit the ground, Lucia immediately found herself under attack as a hulking, four-armed Besalisk gladiator leveled his blasters in her direction. It was only her synthetic reflexes which allowed the gynoid to seize the initiative before the Besalisk could open fire, a katana flying free from her left hand in spinning, boomerang fashion, set on a trajectory to take off the gladiator’s head. Her would-be assailant was immediately forced to take defensive action in order to evade the flying blade, throwing his body into a roll as the katana sailed over him, mere centimeters from decapitation. In return, the Besalisk snapped off a burst of blaster fire from his twinned pistols, but the gynoid was already on the move. Her second katana flew towards the Besalisk with blistering velocity just as she leapt backward, before throwing her body into an acrobatic sequence of pirouettes performed with dazzling speed. By the time the gynoid rolled into a landing, her katana had impaled the Besalisk through his wattle, crimson fluid spouting out from his mouth as he lay dying on the ground.

When the gynoid glanced up, she saw numbers flash next to her name on the holographic scoreboard, a replay already running of her kill as the crowd howled out their thirst for more blood.

She would happily oblige them.

"This is stupid.."

The man who ends up taking out two crossblade lightsabers, his cape blowing across the wind. No droids or anything attacking him, he is a sith.
He attempts to grab Lucia Naberrie and attempts to throw her into the wall with a slam. The hit was definitely surprising, her not knowing where he even was.
Heavy breathing came from his mask, as he looked at the two enemies before him.

Lucia’s cue to the presence of the man behind her came from none other than his heavy breathing, triggering her sensors mere moments after she had called her katanas back into her hands. The gynoid immediately made to spin around, but her arm was grabbed before she could do so.

Suddenly, she was sent flying.

Time within her perception slowed to a crawl as her synthetic reflexes kicked into overdrive. Rather than outright slamming into the wall as the Sith had intended, the gynoid righted herself in mid-air and floated into a controlled hover via the repulsors in her bodysuit, thereby ceasing her momentum. It was only then that she had the opportunity to take stock of the warrior who had grabbed her, her cyan gaze taking in a masculine figure clad in a skull-like mask and black armor. From there, the gynoid’s photoreceptors shifted down to the weapons in his hands—crossguard lightsabers.

This was a Sith.

Nevertheless, with all the precision and surgical reflexes of a honed killing machine, Lucia immediately flung the aerial katana in her left hand towards the Sith from 15 meters away. The weapon was sent slicing through the air blade-first, moving with the speed of a missile as the gynoid willed it to fly towards her assailant’s neck, seeking to impale him through the throat in much the same manner as she had done to the Besalisk.

Time moved slow for the Sith, as he stared into the eyes of his opponent. The katanas raging towards him. As soon as they were about to impale him, swung his head back..the katanas going right over him.. And he put his crossblade sabers up to block them from hitting him while they were spiraling back. He uses the force to jump towards his opponent and attempts to use his skill.

SKILL: 6: "If he has an enemy by his neck for more than 10 seconds he can turn them into dust"

"You do NOT follow the Sith Order...My grandfather Darth Malgus would terminate you before you get to move an inch.."

Sith. Champion. This one represented no one person but instead an entity of more of them.
He was a warrior of the Sith Order but had his own faction outside of it; but didn’t own it yet.
Nevertheless, he had come here today to slay in their name, wearing their sigil on his breast.
A dragon, red on black, like his duraplast armor, chest to greave, and complete with a helmet.

Black all around if streaked in crimson, it covered his skull and hid his face, with visored eyes.
Shaped around its frame were small horns, curved and cruel, not so long as to get in the way.
Behind the visor, a pair of eyes gazed out, silent as their owner, as the platform made to rise.
Contestants all around surround him, other champions, none were companions in the game.

From the depths of the lair beneath, the dragon rose, toward the light, and for House Sylverian.
He was their son, but he hadn’t come here for them in truth. He had come for the entertainment.
For the tournament, for the combat, for the carnage. He was just living up to being a Sith Knight.
His name wasn’t listed in the roster, however. Instead of 'Tameon Sylverian' was 'The Black Knight'.

He stood at the platform’s center as it locked upon the floor, the crowds going wild all around him.
He gave them his gaze, looking about if only for an afforded moment, ever aware of any opponent.
Where are you? Tameon did not see her, but he felt her, and sensed her presence. In a box? Or closer?
A noble like him, but not stuck up; a mingler, representing the Sylverians in the audience. My sister…

Just then, something came at his head. He glimpsed it as a shuriken in an instant. It missed.
Perhaps it was intended to slice at the gap by his neck, or it could penetrate his very helmet.
It didn’t matter. Tameon reacted on instinct, stepped to his left, as his assailant came at him.
A Sith had the Force at his fingertips, a lightsaber at his hip, and another sword to swing with.

He unsheathed it at the perfect moment. Some cybernetic ninja person came at him swinging.
Both blades clashed, katana against longsword, ninja versus knight, blades to clang and cling.
Quick little kriffer. They danced for some seconds, a swing and a block, then off with the head.
Tameon’s blade bit through his opponent’s neck. A win for the tallies. He didn’t care for them.

Not at that moment. Other combatants caught Tameon’s attention.
What’s this then? Another katana-toting duelist off in the distance.
Her opponent, the man in black, extended a rather familiar hand.
Rather, the weapon in either, that of a lightsaber, for two he had.

Curious, Tameon strolled forward at that.
Walked toward the pair, his kill at his back.
Evidently the curly haircut was himself a Sith.
Won’t know Tameon’s one. No saber in his grip.

Sorry for the OOC

"Ah..another of the Sith Conduct. We have to destroy these fools..they do not know how powerful we are!"
He looked at Tameon. Face covered his hair blowing in the wind as his two lightsabers glow bright.

Darth Valor would arrive. He would get out looking at everyone. "Did I miss anything?" Valor would say loudly.
"Hello, my apprentice. This fight is better with all of us Siths against one...sad....puny..person who calls themselves a Sith Lord but doesn't even follow the code?"

My hair blowing in the wind as me and Darth Valor confront Lucia.

In another corner of the was a brawler. A man clad in oily black armor with a pink pearlescent shine. Cyran was here to test his metal and bask in the excitement of the arena. To be a huge show off and put on a bigger spectacle the bounty hunter discarded his primary weapons. Utilizing only unarmed attacks, his own martial arts prowess in conjunction with his armor to content with his opponents.

It didn’t make him a favorite with the gamblers but made every time he dropped an opponent more showy. Not being a killer himself, he replied off of simply beating his opponents rather than outright slaying them. Rules said nothing about taking the life of your opponents, only that they dropped. With his training in Teras Kasi that was fairly doable for the zeltron.

Currently against his opponent, an old assassin droid. Cyran has had some trouble with them. Their faster reflexes make it a bit more of a challenge to get his hits in. They were armed with a vibroblade and with a powerful overhead swing brought it down onto Cyran. Bringing his arm up to intercept it, the weapon screeched across his vambrace where he instantly retaliated with a fluid roundhouse kick to the droid's head. A loud DING rang out over his corner of the arena. The mechanical head then violently spun around to face the other side before the assassin droid dropped their weapon and fell to their knees.

“Another knock out from the Rose of Awaud!” Shouted one of the announcers as Cyran raised his armored fist up into the air to signify his victory. The spectators witnessing it shouting out he did. Before getting into the fights here he chose the alias The Rose of Awaud to signify his connection to the Mandalorian Clan and found it fittingly poetic for himself. Now he wondered who might be his next challenge.

The repulsor projector on Lucia’s gauntlet discharged a rippling shockwave of repulsive gravity as the Sith came flying towards her, aimed to strike the man directly in his chest and push him away in the manner of a Force Push while he was still airborne. Moving with the force of the projector’s recoil, the gynoid threw herself into a backflip before landing on the ground, now situated five meters behind her original position. Even if her gravity burst missed, the flip would allow her to keep the Sith at bay—too far away to get a hand around her neck.

It was only then that Lucia took note of another combatant in close proximity—one clad in jet black armor and armed only with gauntlets. His previous opponent, an old assassin droid, was on their knees, vibroblade clattering to the ground.

Between the Sith and the unarmed warrior, the gynoid now had a fight.

So, it seemed his supposed fellow Sith pinned Tameon for being Sith himself.
Maybe he recognized my sigil. There were many noble families in the galaxy.
However, House Sylverian was not that popular; minor family, comparatively.
Then again, maybe this idiot just sensed Tameon's Force signature as well.

"We?" Tameon tilted his head for effect. "There is no 'we'. There is only…me."
After all, this wasn't Jedi vs Sith. They weren't partners. They were competitors.
Either way, Darth Karkface could complain later. Now it was time to balance things.
In this arena, the wind was what rushed between the combatants, as they bleed or burn.

That air of the battle; swift, chaotic, unrelenting. Tameon didn't even live for the fight.
Yet, he relished it no less. A dragon exerted its power in fire and blood, tooth and nail.
The wind of war was what carried a Sylverian's wings and what lifted the Black Knight.
He's determined to prove it as he steps toward his opponents, following a blood trail.

Peripheral vision granted him some eavesdropping on other combatants around him.
Mandalorians. Gamorreans. Ortolans. Oh my. Yet his gaze was on another face. A skull.
Bit of a typical Sith. There were three Sith in the fold now amidst the skull's apprentice.
Skull's opponent just unleashed a blast at the former's chest. Did it miss or hit as told?

Didn't matter to Tameon. Another Sith was his opponent. Not Darth Mordius but Valor.
Here was another figure garbed in black. Tameon wouldn't complain. He too sported it.
Walking for Darth Valor, the Black Knight wouldn't wait for his opponent to come for him.
Curling left hand's fingers, Valor would be beckoned, the Force gently tugging him forward.

As he came forth, Tameon sheathed his songsteel sword back at his left hip.
Right beside it was his lightsaber hilt that was instead ignited to fill his grip.
Red plasma hissed from it, burning, a dragon's tongue in a fist as he swung it.
Horizontally, from his left to right, to cleave Darth Valor Darth Valor 's chest in an instant.

A'ti watched the brawls and bouts become more intricate and more entertaining as the new contestants had taken center stage - literally. The crowd was as pleased as ever. The stakes continued to raise and A'ti could feel nothing but an overflowing sense of thrill as she saw the numbers racing. She should have done this a long time ago, but perhaps the time wasn't right. It was hard to tell, looking back, especially in a place like the arena where it wasn't exactly a quiet place.

The Twi'lek reached out with her left hand and pulled out several colorful snacks from a fine bowl held aloft by a protocol droid "Tell me, what are our winnings so far?" she did not look at the Human cyborg who ran the caculations mentally, his eyes were covered by a sleek visor "Nearing a quarter million." A'ti now glanced at the man "A quarter million credits? How much are outstanding debts and how much are already paid?" she couldn't believe all of these gamblers had that many credits on them "About a third realized and two thirds outstanding." there it was, A'ti thought. She reclined back in her chair "Have the debtors held at the space port then, I'd like a word before they try and leave. And put another two thousand each on those three, waging hrrmmm... two more victories."

Tournaments. Entertainment. Games. One hundred and fifty days of games. She remembered.
Battle. Combat. Combatants were just like cattle as they were cut down in the Dance of Dragons.
That annual tournament back home, back on the world where dragons were born. And burned.
She was told the stories, taught that one could find dragons in this galaxy, and others had them.

Krayt dragons, maybe, drakes and wyverns, though she learned all the same those that were hers.
She thought back, even as others engaged in combat, waged war on the arena of a dancefloor.
Dancing, some called dueling, but this was an absolute massacre. Opponents fighting in turn.
In a kind of rhythm, however, in harmony and chaos, in a way, by the blaster, blade, and gore.

She thought back to those moments in the fortress of Redember, the very seat of House Sylverian.
Silver-black eyes amid silver eyeliner stared down at the battleground right now, as she glimpsed.
She watched contestants in this competition, Mandalorians, other warriors, but she saw dragons.
Hers, her family’s, gone and lost—and she saw no arena of Hoth but instead the Serpent’s Pit.

“Wine, madam?” Called a man’s voice.
Distracted, Senestra just blinked at him.
“Yes. Red.” So the waiter’s hand lifted it.
A servant, soft-spoken amid all the noise.

Senestra took the glass in her hand and sipped as she watched the others.
Swords swung, scatterblasters were plugged. There were even Sith in the mist.
Ahhh. At least you’re not alone though. She whispered to herself at her brother.
He was below her, if not beneath her, The Black Knight, fighting with sword in fist.

She was not sure if he had seen her before or not as she watched his platform rise.
Tameon was here to fight but Senestra was here to talk with tongue, watch with eyes.
They both represented the House of Sylverian in their own way, but she had more care.
He just wanted to swing, bleed, other Sith if need be. Fearless. A dragon is never scared...

Nearby, another voice caught Senestra’s attention. This one was a woman’s.
The Twi’lek, A’ti, and host of this tournament. The Sylverian was just her guest.
She seemed a gambler like any other; a soul of the criminal underworld at best.
Yet it took intellect to keep a tournament together. At least she’s a strong woman.

“I put five thousand on The Black Knight.”
Senestra did not look but she smiled nearby.
A’ti might not know they were related outright.
Senestra was here to play her own game despite.

A'ti A'ti

The bounty hunter didn’t need to wait long before more adversaries made themselves apparent. Hardly even enough time for him to catch his breath. Firstly, it seemed to be some sort of masked Sith. Naturally Cyran found it odd for someone of their kind to be here, engaging in gladiatorial combat. Perhaps they were in hard times now after the obliteration of Exegol years prior and needed the money.

Next seemed to be what looked like a rather short and pale woman. With what appeared to be an exaggerated lower half. Already he felt like there was something off about her. An unfamiliar emptiness as he couldn’t sense her emotions among the heated miasma that filled the arena.

Stepping a bit closer to them he gazed at the two. Peering through his visored helmet. Cyran brought his hands together, fingers interlocking before cracking his knuckles. "Don't worry Doll, I'll go easy on ya, I promise." The bounty hunter taunted his female opponent. It was sort of true, he pulled his punches with anyone who wasn't a droid, and he had no reason to suspect she was a droid. At least not yet...

Both of his opponents were armed, the zeltron was too but in a less obvious manner. But he still would rather have his armor avoid needlessly tanking damage. To Cyran the short woman was more of an odd ball to him, and thus perceived her more as a thread. Quickly began to rush her, even with his armor he moved with surprising speed and agility. Partly because most of it wasn’t even beskar, instead made of lighter alloys and materials. Saving the mandalorian iron for a less obtrusive piece or armor underneath the outer plates and pads.

Once he was within range he shifted his body to the side more and raised his leg, bending it in before launching it back out in a quick side kick to the short pale woman. Although in the back of his mind Cyran was worried the Sith would capitalize on the bounty hunter’s commitment to rush the other opponent and get a hit on him in turn.

The Sith seethed with barely-restrained anger, the everpresent noise of his respirator allowing Lucia to keep abreast of his position even as she turned her photoreceptors towards the black-armored Mandalorian. As the latter cracked his knuckles and offered what Lucia could only interpret as an self-contradicting promise, the gynoid willed her two katanas to fly towards the Sith with a flowing gesture from 15 meters away, one after the other. Both weapons flew through the air in the manner of a missile—blade-first. The first was leveled high, intended to impale the Sith through his skull, while the other was directed low, aimed to spear him through the stomach.

By then, the Mandalorian had closed the distance, launching a kick towards her in the process. Ducking just underneath the incoming blow, Lucia swiftly rotated on her heels in gracile, balletic fashion and countered with a low, spinning back kick, leveraging the strength and mass of her lower body in an attempt to take out the warrior’s legs!
