HISTORICAL INFORMATION
After proving herself a capable commander several times in the line of fire, Major Ari Naldax, the commanding officer of Nemesis Squadron, was assigned with her squadron to the headquarters wing in Fresia's special forces fighter group. Reading through a long list of logistical problems and combat losses, however, Major Naldax could forsee that Starfighter Corps would hurt not only for want of skilled and veteran pilots but also would be unable to produce combat-hardened replacements for the level of losses that special missions groups would incur using their unorthodox tactics.
Armed with this knowledge, the Major began to put together a policy proposal for her superiors, one which had deep personal importance for herself and members of her squadron, and one that would take the tragedies which had hit the Galaxy and, hopefully, make some good out of them. Codenamed the "Celchu Initiative," after one of the ancient heroes of the Alderaanian and New Alderaanian peoples, this proposal would offer the best pilot of planets like New Alderaan, Sposia and Naporar, Neshtab, and any other planets occupied by Imperial and Maw forces the opportunity to fight back against their occupiers and for the freedom of their worlds.
Understandably it was a hard sell to convince Starfighter Command to agree to this idea - placing important missions in the hand of expatriates and exiles from foreign planets, trusting that the best pilots of these worlds would perform up to the standards of the Alliance navy and comport themselves with the necessary level of discipline, but the Starfighter Command was desperate in their need for experienced pilots. With a little bit of lobbying from the New Alderaanian Government in Exile, Major Naldax was given the authorization to create a fighter wing composed of these foreign pilots. Seeking the assistance of the newly-gazetted Captain Mylo Thorne and his own secretive "Grey" Squadron (eventually named Raider Squadron), she was able to put together a full wing of 40 starfighters in 4 squadrons. While Raider Squadron had begun training at their own base, most of the wing was trained on Fresia.
Colonel Naldax oversaw the wing's quiet entrance into active service, its squadrons given authorization to take on combat missions and carry out operations as the SFC's Special Operations Command saw fit. Despite the fall of the Empire and Maw, the 303rd still sees service as a volunteer fighter wing of the GADF.

- Description: Formed as a formation of the GADF's Starfighter Corps both to give it a fresh supply of pilots and to offer motivated exiles of planets occupied by hostile governments a way to strike back at their oppressors, the 303rd Wing was formed as a foreign service wing for (vetted) veteran and elite fighter pilots of these planets, complemented by other veterans of campaigns against the Maw and Empire. While the squadrons of the wing operate primarily as raiding, strike, or space superiority squadrons, both the squadrons and the wing as a whole is designed to take on a wide variety of other missions and use many tactics and methods which are unconventional and irregular, taking inspiration from legendary units such as the Rogues and Wraiths, and Shepherd Squadron.
