The sound of lightning howling against plasma filled the air, the clashing blades serenaded by sirens created a chorus for the combat that continued to escalate within the hangar. The Sith master, unrelenting as myriad strikes swung in blistering storms towards the Obsidian Lord, parrying best as he could as the number of detonations his shield was capable of dwindled, the effect of the explosions was being braced against now, their functional effect other than guarding strikes was run dry... Leaving one ace in the hole.

Combining her sabers she would bring them down, crossed over and lashing them outwards as it would detonate the last of the arm shields layers, the blast sending Felix staggering and off centered. Blocking to the left and the right as following attacks would rain down upon him now that he had been disarmed of his defensive weapon. She was quick, and although his movement was more trained, more refined and controlled, she had him beat when it came to raw speed and momentum. Felix had to focus more on his dodging, blocking one saber and evading or controlling her sabers to be in the way of her follow up attacks...

It was tiring.

The Sith could sense his failure, the defeat that was closing in as she moved to attempt to trap his blade, clashing with him and using her body to press against it, not allowing him to parry the strike while the other would hew upwards like a guillotine for his sword arm. Reaching out for the button of her weapon again Felix would turn it off just as the blade would have kissed his skin, slicing through the hanging tail of his coat and burning his wrist badly with the lingering plasma... but leaving his arm very much intact.

Felix would counter-attack, using the leverage on his low block to rotate her blade out and away, using force enhanced speed to throw a passado towards her chest followed by tenfold attacks in deadly staccato for her torso and legs. However, blocking the first strike, she would windmill her blades fast enough as her second weapon ejected to parry the strikes. Bringing both her sabers to her side and moving in for a terrifying counter-attack, one that would have overpowered felix with the lightning charged blades and easily cut through his body. All of her weight thrown into the strike.

Felix feigned backward, allowing his weight to move to his backfoot as she came at him, raising his weapon and crossing his former shield arm with it he would brace for impact as he would lose his footing. Her blades collided, and Felix would reach past his guard with his armoured hand, grabbing one of her light-sabers. The ultrachrome of his parrying gauntlet would protect him for precious seconds as it absorbed the electricity of the strike and Felix would pull. Rolling back and dragging her down with him, Felix raised a foot in a classic tomoe nagi throw as he rolled backwards, hurling her towards the ship over the top of himself.

Standing up, he'd throw everything he had into a foce push which launched her back even further, pressing his gauntlet to his fists as he would call through the microphone to the girl in a rushed voice.

"Thrusters, now!"

Even with her force powers, dazed from concussions and depending on the speed of his charges reactions... there would be nothing the master would be able to do.

Inside the ship, Finnea was starting to feel weaker by the second. She didn't handle blood very well in the past and far less when it was her own. She dreaded it, but she also knew she had to take a look at it very soon. Leaning her head back against the seat, she closed her eyes while taking a few more deep breaths to calm herself down a little more before she opened the collar of her black uniform with her one good hand. Pulling decisively down towards the side she wiggled a little to free her shoulder enough to look at it. She made a sound of disgust as the smell of burned flesh hit her - her OWN burned flesh none the less!

She slipped out of the seat like she had wanted to from the moment she sat down in it, covering her mouth and nose while sitting on her knees on the floor. She had to get it together! She started to move over the floors on her knees and some assistance from the good arm, crawling to see if she could spot one of the many marks used to indicate for a medical kit on the walls somewhere. Luckily, it didn't take her too long to spot it but she had to get back up to reach it. She slammed her back against the same wall and used her legs to push herself up to a standing, grabbing the kit only to make an effort to get herself back into that seat again.

Finnea would rummage thrugh the items to try and find something to clean the would with while also getting something to stop the bleeding. Some painkillers wouldn't be bad either.. All the while she threw glances towards the gate. Something had her stop what she was doing. His voice sounding rushed over the speaker.

"WHAT?! N-now?! But-" he probably couldn't hear her reply. "Idiot.." she spoke the last part in an annoyed tone as she leaned forward to the control panel "start the Ion Engines, NOW" she commaned for the AI droid that had already made an excellent job prepairing and starting the ship for take-off. And to her surprise, the engines roared with the thrusters firing up right away, making the ship start running, sending her crashing into her seat behind her again, grabbing the handles, screaming with the pain that ensued as the landing was rough.

She flipped herself over, looking over her seat, staring intently towards the hatch that was about to start closing up as the ship build speed.

The blast of the thruster was equal parts immediate and absolute, no sooner than the ion engine was hit, the woman would turn to see what the roaring sound was before being hit by the full force of the ion thruster. her form immediately turned to molten bracken as the engine tore through her body from the back outwards literally detonating across the room in exactly the same manner as a disruptor cannon, leaving little more than legs to hit the ground continuing to disintegrate as her apparel scattered to the winds from the force, one saber obliterating in a tuft of red smoke.

Felix would grab the other of her light-sabers as it soared through the air towards him, snatching it up and running for the rear of the ship with all of the force speed he could muster. Pain from his wounds screaming through his body until he hopped up onto the ramp as the ship accelerated, thankfully without a hitch as it hadn't gone too far or built much momentum, grabbing one of the hydraulic pistons with his gauntlet until it finally closed, panting on the inside and collapsing to the ground panting from the fight.

After a couple of moments he would stand, moving through the freighter class ship and moving for the cockpit, he could see the stains of blood on the ground as he moved, grabbing one of the larger med-kits for the two of them as he went and opened it to take the bacta packs. The Droid AI based on her commands, wheeled the ship around to face the exit, and took off towards open space.

Peeking into the cockpit, he would see her on the floor, rushing down and without hesitation tearing the collar of her shirt open so that he could place the bacta pads on the front and back of her body. Sitting her up to inspect the rest of her for wounds. "How are you doing? Sorry for the rough ride, but, we didn't exactly have a world of time." He'd say, a little blunter than he might have liked, as the ships AI activated a holofield displaying the outside of the ship along the walls, displaying the outside world.

his eyes would move to the device dropped on the ground, digits ticking as he would announce...

"two...one... aaand..."
jHiLsO.png

It was just as well that she didn't know why Felix had requested for the thrusters to be turned on just then, in the back of her mind she just assumed that it was because time was running out and the took a wild chance of reaching the ship just as it took off. Luckily he did, and luckily she didn't know the ship just roasted another being.

Laying on the floor, she tried to just focus on her own breath now, her heart still racing madly from the rush of adrenaline pumping in her veins. Finnea only lifted her head to check who's footsteps she could hear and judgning by the sound of a set of heavier steps, she knew it was him, that he had made it just in time. She let out a small sigh of relief that she wouldn't have to figure out where to go now all by herself. But she was far from calm. His steps sped up and he came rushing to her, suddenly hooking down to tear open her collar and uniform. She didn't fight him on this, she could barely lift her own arm by now and she felt dizzy now that the adrenaline was slowly fading.
As he worked, she studied the man that pulled up the bacta patches to put over her wound, silently thanking him for the help. She recalled that she was far from the only one that got wounded and she looked down to his thigh where she remembered that he got hurt earlier. "I'm fine. But your thigh..." she mumbled and tried to get the jacket properly back on again without succsess, whincing at the pain that still lingered.

The holofield lit up the walls of the cockpit and got her attention right away. Finnea satt propped up on the floor against the seat, watching as Felix counted down and...zero.

The sight that ensued was one that would stick with her till she died. The initial self-destruction happened far inside the ship but moments later several explosions followed eachother, one bigger than the other it would seem. Making the ship cringe as the flames swelled up from one side, eating its way through the larger one.
Finnea sat completely silent as she watched it, no guessing what was on her mind just then. It took some time, she could see many ships escaped too but she knew that was far from the number that had been inside the carriers hangars. If they had been just seconds later, they would have been swallowed by the same angry flames and explosions.

Finally she looked down at the floor in front of her. A new feeling started to swell inside her. She felt cold and sweaty at the same time, all colour dissapeared from her face. She would have to hide now. She was not safe. If the sith got a hold of her now, death would only be a relief. She started to breathe faster even if it was really difficult. Her throat was getting so tight! She got up and started a pace that only resulted in wobbly steps along the floors, crashing into the walls as she now heaved. "What have I done?!" She panted "I should just have done my damn job!" she banged at the wall. "Oh no... oh... no...no no no" she was working herself into a fullblown state of panic, clawing at her nauseaus stomach, forgetting where she even was. She stopped talking, her mind just rushed through a million thoughts. And then she remembered that the man that owned this ship was the one that initially confronted her. She spun around, staring at him like he was the enemy too, frightned.

"Where are we going?" she asked with purpose, like the wrong answer would make her go ballistic.

The cascading detonation emanating from the Battle-Cruiser would catch, taking with it the first of the satellites hangars, ships not taken off were caught in the core overload as the peppering booms would bloom, echoing the ruinous destruction. Several of the frigates which desperately rushed for safe hyperspace distance from the stations gravity well would claw for every meter as the blast would catch several of the late leavers. But it was the battle-cruiser causing the station itself to explode which would cause the most damage.

As the space port exploded everything within miles would be left as wrecks, the plasma reactor of such a large structure causing calamitous nuclear destruction as not a single of the large ships would survive. Though many freighters, fighters and other smaller ships like the one they were upon would have already breached the radius. Felix's ship was caught in a dead-race for the edge of the explosion, the wave of nuclear annihilation chasing them every step of the way until the ship hit hyperspace, leaving the rampant oblivion behind them far, far behind.

"My thigh's fine, I've had worse scrapes but i will put a pad on it soon, its cauterized, so im not worried." He'd respond with a thankful smirk, however as she stood and began to panic Felix would attempt to calm her, keeping sat on the ground with one knee up and his sore knee extended out before him. Using the claw on his armoured arm to open the leg of his pant so that he could place a small bacta pad from the medical kit she opened onto it. Sighing audibly in relief as the cool liquid would begin to refresh and numb the area with its light bubbly tingle.

He was going to wait until he had a gap and speak, but she wheeled on him, staring down at him standoffish as he would raise his arms in surrender. Touching a couple of buttons on his armoured, clawed arm causing it to detach from his arm and clatter to the ground then removing his hood and face shield, revealing middling length shaggy black hair and pale slender features. He'd kick his weapons away so that they would not be near himself, once again attempting to reinforce the fact he was no longer a threat. "Where are we going? I don't know, you're the one who put in the voice commands, remember? How about we sit down, I can make us a hot drink, some chocolate, and we can talk about what we're going to do next. But no matter what we decide, you're safe. I'm not going to let them take you."

Still sitting at the ground his eyes would fix on his, radiating a calm sincerity. He wasn't going anywhere, especially back to the sith.

Finnea had slowly moved herself into a battle-ready stance, staring with sharp eyes at Felix as he slowly moved to detatch the armour at his arm in case he would make a quick move to get one of his weapons. She had now seen him fight, she wouldn't dare underestimate his abilities. His voice was calmer than she thought it would be regarding the situation. When he mentioned chocolate, Finnea lifted her head a little, like she had noticed a word she liked. "...Hot... Chocolate?" she asked him back, having concidered all the other facts that was put down for her. She didn't entirely trust him on it, but she also realized her own situation: the likelyhood of him being capable of taking her down and bringing her to the Siths were astronomical. She had to believe what he said, hoping for the best.

She shifted out of her stance, still feeling cold from the panic that was storming inside of her, making her feel ill. "I...eh... Need the restroom.." she said a little abscentmided, walking away from him to find the restroom only to start throwing up, not even trying to be silent about it. She finished, but it took a while before she came back out, walking really slowly, one hand to her stomach as if to try and calm it down even if everything was already much better.

"We do indeed need to talk" she walked to come a tad closer to him, but still cautious, keeping some distance. The memory of his angry eyes back at the control room flashed before her, she wasn't going to be dumb or naive. Following his lead she would take a seat that made it so she wouldn't have to sit anywhere close to him. Putting her hands to rest at the table, she worked hard to calm herself down enough so that her voice wouldn't be cracking as much.
Finnea had no idea where she wanted to start. Her eyes flicked around the table and at the walls, avoiding him entirely. "I don't even know what I was thinking..." she whispered silently now staring hard at the table. "The thought never struck me untill today..I-I..aahh..!" she gasped for air as her hands shot down to rub hard against her thighs, looking to her side, clearly her mind was not in a good place.

"I need to disappear. And I need your help."

When she responded with a question, Felix's face morphed into one of concern, the girl was in shock and there wasn't much that he was able to do about it. So, grabbing one of the blankets from a nearby bunk as she retreated to the bathroom as well as making her a hot sugary drink in the form of chocolate. He would approach her from behind as she exited, staggering to place the blanket around her shoulders. Resting it on the edges of her slender frame he would move past her in order to hand her one of the two drinks he'd made.

He would hear that they needed to talk, though, as someone who was having a hard time adjusting to the realization that the sith are the sith, all tings considered she was doing rather well. Felix would sip his drink and listen to the ramblings of the woman who had dealt the sith in the area millions of credits in damages maybe even billions. He'd listen to her rave about what was going to happen to her now, interjecting as she mentioned that she needed his help.

"You have my help, but if you would like to insulate yourself against the retribution of the Sith, you're going to need more than a little help from me, but im willing to make you a deal, i saw how quickly you were able to access that ships mainframe, that suggests you were intimately familiar with their coding. What were you? An Engineer? Developer? Technician?" He would ask, listening for her response with avid curiosity, sipping on his own drink as the warm liquid would calm his senses. Hoping it would do the same for hers as well.

As hyperspace continued, Felix would press a couple of buttons on the monitor putting them in the direction of Iskalon and the Quartermasters Guild which worked for house Aquila. The place was a veritable scientific eden with everything that could be had in the study of energy waves and pulses, ships, technology and more.

"I ask, because you could work for me... at least until you could get back on your feet." His face remained genuine and supportive of her intentions regardless of what decision she would decide to make. Though he was for the most part attempting to introduce some stability in her life, something that she could hold on to, hope for and strive towards. Shed likely just lost her home, everyone she knew, her old life and it had thrust her personal universe into chaos.

Felix, just wanted to introduce some order...
jHiLsO.png

Finnea jumped a little when she felt the blanket being placed over her shoulders, staring at it like she had never seen one of these before. The last time she could remember anything like this was many years ago as a small child. She decided she wanted to keep it on as she liked the weight on her shoulders. She would stare blankly down at the table, seemingly not noticing the hot chocolate that he brought for her at first.

Turning her head in his direction, Finnea slowly came out of her trance-like state of mind by blinking a few times. She shrugged slowly, a universe of dread noticable in her eyes. It took her a while to answer his question of what she had been working as, why she was so fast at accessing the ships mainframe. Eventually she shifted a tad, first shaking her head like she wasn't going to tell him anything. "I.. was an Engineer, well, Technician, but my assigned duties were related to engineering." she spoke quietly as if she had trouble putting any volume to her voice. She sighed, recalling that accessing the mainframe of the ship was not a task that was entirely new to her- she had been practising for a while ahead.

His suggestion to work for him, made her frown for a moment. She sat up straight and nearly lost the blanket but with a quick reflex, she caught it and hoisted it back up over herself, still seeming a little upset over what he had proposed.
Finnea opened her mouth and inhaled as to start arguing but she had nothing to really argue about. Her old life was in ruins, she had absolutely nothing to go back to. Nor had she any plans for the future. She had never had any future to look forward to. Her features morphed into one of sadness as she nodded her reply. Only now really noticing that hot chocolate he had mentioned. She let a small hand trace over the table to pull it closer to herself, checking it's contents, taking in the scent eventually taking a little sip. A very old memory flashed before her and was gone before she could place it. But she knew she liked hot chocolate very much.

"Yes. If you would have me, I'd be glad to work for you." she said, but her mind was so far away as she swirled the contents of her cup.

"If it would put your mind at ease, House Aquilas technology, although paramilitary, we're primarily a research and development company with its own small fleet. You'd be working with cutting edge plasma and energy shield technology with some of the best physicists in the galaxy. We build weapons to defend people, not to kill them. It was one of the reasons I'd made deals with the Sith, our weapons are more humane and would result in fewer casualties than the... alternatives." He would say in no uncertain terms as he would take a seat and finally begin to treat the wound at his leg, the tingle from the burn caused him to limp, and almost trip on some of the blood that was present on the ship floor.

Taking a bandage, as well as another of the small Bacta pads he would place it over himself, as well as begin to apply something that looked like a seaweed gel to other locations of his body, requiring him to at least loosen his shirt in order to reach the locations he had been burned by the Sith's lightning attacks. Much worse and he would have had to take a dip in a bacta tank.

but his mind would go back to how they had met, the anger that was likely in his voice, the readiness to kill that he would have displayed could have been monstrous for the girl. He had to come to the conclusion that the reason she was like the way she was, her trauma and what she was going through was not entirely because of the Sith. He'd almost killed her too... until he came to his senses. Some minutes would pass after she had accepted the offer, the brilliant ribbons of hyperspace flowing past them in infinite luminous tendrils.

"You know... I'm sorry for back there... I honestly thought you were an Alliance Spy or saboteur... and they've been particularly ruthless recently. Probably as bad as the Sith. Maybe even worse. I know i probably scared you a lot, but, I'm not really like that. I'm just, done with people who only want to create more death."

He was sombre, regretful, he'd flash her a sorrowful expression before allowing himself to fall quiet again, it wouldn't be long before they reached the Iskalon shipyard. There she'd see what real progress would look like. Though she wouldn't have to start right away. "We shouldn't be too far away now. From Iskalon, i mean." He'd smile as they exited hyperspace, three integrated satellites linked together to be able to create huge ships floated aloft outside the planets orbit. The sun glistening off their chrome shells as myriad workers created marvels.

"Welcome, to house Aquila"

jHiLsO.png

Finnea didn't look up once while Felix explained to her about House Aquila's technology and primary focus within the company. It was not for the lack of interest because if it was one thing that sparked some passion in her, it was her love for new technology and development. No, she was still very stressed about what she had done and what the consequences would be. She could not go roaming freely without having to watch her back every step of the way. Not that she had any secret dreams to do so either.

It was only after an unnatural long period of silence that Finnea lifted her focus from the hot chocolate to Felix when he apologized to her. A small wrinkle between her eyebrows appeared, like she would argue the case but his point was clear - he had acted in a case of mistaken identity and she could to a degree understand why he would build such anger towards an Alliance Spy and the likes. She slowly nodded for him to give some indication that she was even listening to him and offered a small smile. "It's fine. I understand." she shrugged quickly and let both hands cling to her cup now. She would like to say more, to explain herself properly but she couldn't right now.

Silence fell between the two of them once more as they moved through space, her mind was still grinding away piece by piece of all the things that had taken place only that day.
Eventually, however, Felix spoke once more and had her attention drawn from her own pit of darkness as he mentioned the Iskalon. She got up from her seat and walked over to the window to have a proper look at it for herself from a distance.
A new life, a new start. His words from before about them mostly doing research and developing plasma and energy shields had her smile more genuinely this time, stepping even closer to the window, admiring the sight, keeping herself from putting a hand up against the glass. Perhaps being indoctrinated at a very young age should have kept her from picturing any future that she wasn't told about. Seeing Iskalon now for the first time, her eyes opened up to stare at a very different future than the one they told her she would have.

"It's perfect."
