Beltor Cyrus
At the helm of his sweet new whip.
To set the scene.
The heavy ions roared over the land of the ring world as the
Star Dancer flew low and slow. He wasn't as drunk as he was when he initially boarded her, and in fact Layla sat next to him at the copilot's controls, making sure to not let her new skipper drift the big bird over too far.
Beltor whooped and hollered as he set the girl in a drift by decoupling the throttles and swinging her ass first in to the wind, using the repulsors and the heavy ion engines to pull a J-hook turn that looked spectacular to the folks of the ring, and inadvertently the Jedi temple below. In truth Layla was adjusting his controls ever so slightly to keep them at a safe speed and distance, roughly 1600 meters, above the land. She liked her new captain, but liked her old ship more, and didn't want to see it all go up in smoke.
Beltor Cyrus found him self enjoying the hammerhead corvette more then he thought. The Jade Finch could turn and burn, but not like this hot rod of a corvette. Turns out having 20 times the power out put and 30 times the thruster impulse meant something and he cheered as he recoupled the throttles and the
Dancer shot out, reaching Mach speed in less then a second and planting both their backs in to the seats. He twirled the yoke and the ship spun on her roll axis as they rocketed clear over the temple, still at a safe altitude and clear towards the far side of the ring.
While it was a wide structure, several dozen kilometers at the vary least, the
Star Dancer could clear that in less then a minuet at full tilt. Again using differential thrust via throttle decoupling more then he did the rudder, he swung the girl in a sharp turn that made even Layla gasp as the G forces bled through the inertial dampeners. He shifted the throttles again and the
Dancer shot forward, though at a slower pace as he neared the temple. Slowing for a low and slow pass, though not at a dangerous speed nor too close to the ground, he wiggled the big bird on her roll axis, as a symbol of salute and to show off the hastily painted Rebel Star Bird that adorned each side of her main bridge section. Picking an empty spot with in walking distance, he set her down as smooth at bantha butter, landing gear settling down in the grassy plane with a soft
thump.
When the main cargo hold opened, belt came down riding a repulsor cart loaded with cooking supplies, fresh ingredients, and a few crates of the good liquor he had stored away.
