SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Anti-Reflection: The bolts fired by the laser cannon are encased in a relatively weak electromagnetic field by design. This allows the bolts to immediately destabilize upon impact, yielding an explosion in the process that prevents reflection by Xythan Force and similar reactive shielding technologies.
  • Anti-Ray Shield: The energized plasma beams fired by the laser cannon possess a rare energy frequency, lending them the capability of bypassing ray shields. However, they can be intercepted by Molecular, Xythan Force, Arkanian, and Verpine shields.
  • High Rate of Fire: Featuring nearly twice the rate of fire of a standard laser cannon, the cannons are capable of putting out a high volume of fire in a relatively short time, making them effective in dogfights, anti-missile interception, close air support strafing runs, and other duties which demand a high rate of fire.
  • Underwater Weapon: The Blush is capable of firing underwater, albeit at a slight cost to its effective range.
WEAKNESSES
  • Heat Management: The persistent demands of cooling and heat management make the Blush a slower firing weapon over a sustained period than its cyclic rate of fire would suggest. As such, the laser cannon is typically fired in short bursts, but long bursts are possible at the cost of a longer and more demanding heat discharge cycle, during which the cannon can not be fired for a set period of time, especially after an especially long salvo.
  • EMP/Ion Overload: EMP and Ion discharges with a large enough power quotient and a close enough proximity can overload the laser cannon’s systems and defenses, rendering it unable to fire for some time.
  • Weapon Class: As a starfighter and vehicle-grade weapon, the Blush is largely ineffective against starships and vehicles that are larger than 50 meters, unless utilized to target weak points or en masse.
DESCRIPTION
Conceived in order to establish an in-house laser cannon design for use in future vehicles, starships, and emplacements produced by First United Astral Engineering, the FAE/SW-02 “Blush” Laser Cannon was developed over a relatively short period, utilizing technology derived from the FAE/SW-01 “Star Striker” Turbolaser. The Blush is optimized for rate of fire and accuracy over more conventional laser cannon designs, in order to enhance its anti-missile interception, close air support, and dogfighting capabilities, activities typically demand a high rate of fire due to short times on target.

While the Blush has average stopping power for a laser cannon, it is capable of bypassing ray shields in a similar manner to that of a solar ionization weapon.

Like many energy weapons manufactured by First United Astral Engineering, the Blush produces a coruscating magenta bolt color which lends it a somewhat distinct appearance in most battlespaces. Nevertheless, with the exception of its anti-ray shield capabilities and high rate of fire, the Blush is a very conventional laser cannon, with high expectations for its performance.

Cannot link wikis unless it is from Wookieepedia itself or the actual Wikipedia. I know it works the way it does, you can unlink and it be fine in my book. We all get how it works unless you find a sonic definition in Wookiepedia itself.
