Dragon Palace Casino [Open to Red Ravens]

Between the murmurs of light conversation and the new arrival's ruckus, Lok had entertained himself for the moment by just laying his face against the cool metal of the table and attempted to groggily keep his eyes on the HoloScreen. Apparently these kiddos had been watching something so absurdly unreal that it was actually kind of entertaining. Great. A few minutes passed and he was quite content with letting his brain cells die by the dozen from watching such trash on top of the booze he'd drowned himself in earlier.

Something felt oddly missing, though.

Oh yeah. My lighter.

With a grunt, Lok cracked his neck and flopped his head around before plucking the piece of metal from [member="Jen"]'s hands. Had he not been drunk as hell, he would've opted for just taking it from her rather than using the Force, but laziness was a virtue. That is, until Colap made his ungodly arrival with shouts and loud music. Had he not been carrying alcohol with him, Colap would have been full of buckshot by now. Half-scowling, he stood and crossed the room to acquire some more drink.

At his girlfriend's arrival, Cryax perked up. "There she is," said the Chiss and promptly grabbed her, pulling her onto his lap. "Thank you, ch'eo ch'acah," he whispered in her ear in Cheunh. "You look ravishing, of course." Then he smiled at Audrey. "What happened that night again? Wait, don't tell me. I don't think I want to know."

To Logan he said, "Don't let her demure looks fool you, she's a fierce combatant as well. Trust me, she kicks my ass during our training sessions." He chuckled lightly. That would have been funnier if it weren't true Cryax thought with a smirk.

Then Colap made his typical grand entrance and the Ravens were filling their cups with a rouge colored ale. "Would you like a glass, darling?" he asked Anastasia, as he snapped his fingers at a serving droid sending it off with a whir to get them a couple of glasses.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Logan, I'm Anastasia. Everyone calls me Ana though." She smiled shaking his outstretched hand. Ana had looks and moves to kill. The first did drive her crazy from time to time still. Your getting better though! Last time you almost had me," she turned to grin at Cryax. They always had interesting training sessions in which she did actually try to teach him some moves so that he could protect himself.

"I would have stayed and drank more but Cryax was getting handsy and about to undress me or himself at the cantina. It was time to carry him home." She grinned at Audrey.

"A drink would be lovely," she stated as the droid he just sent away came back to which she grabbed two glasses and handed one to Cryax. "This is certainly different than the type of party I'm used to."

Joran Del-Finn

Smuggler by day. Snuggler by night.
There was some kind of celebration happening at the dragon palace casino. Not surprising considering its lavish interior and high price tag. Who ever spent the credits to have this place built needed all the help they could get to make them up. The shouting and music coming from the V.I.P. room was ignored by a man at one of the many card tables at the casino.

He reached over and raked in another large pile of credits. Luck was on his side tonight.

“What can I tell you boys, I’m on a roll.” he shrugged and tried to reassure the other players that he just took 300,000 credits from that he was on the up and up. It apparently didn’t work as he found himself flanked by two large guards on either side of him.

“Problem, lads?”

The guards didn’t speak. Instead one grabbed his credits from the table and another bashed him in the face when he went to protest, busting his lip wide open getting blood on his suit. The other two guards lifted him from his seat and went to throw him out most likely.

In a real twist of events they took him to the V.I.P. section and dumped him in front of who ever was in charge of the red ravens.

“This scum was cheating.” one of the guards said gruffly.

The scum he was talking about was Captain Joran Del-Finn. Bounty hunter, smuggler and ladies man. He was also pretty good at cheating at cards. Not good enough clearly but hey what’s life without risk? Joran knew nothing of the raven’s in fact he didn’t even know that was who he was in front of at the moment. He sat on his butt on the floor, rubbing his hurt mouth, waiting to see what they would decide his fate would be.

Nei had just started to take a swig of the alcohol when the guards busted in. At first, Nei was going to yell at Cryax for not calling them off her when she noticed them throw some guy with a bloody mouth on the ground. Sighing, she set down her glass, flipped down her visor (in case things got sour) and walked in front of the man, one of her blasters pointed at his head.

"Stupid human," she said, scowling. "Don't do anything funny!" She was willing to stand down if ordered to, but quite frankly Nei didn't like people who cheated at cards. And thus, her blaster stayed up.

As Lok's lighter suddenly started to levitate out of her hands she simply stared at in amazement, her eyes glancing to Lok, a brow raised as it moved across the table and landed within his grip. She did know that some here within the Ravens where force users, however she had not thought Lok to be one, not the slighest. Mainly due to his behavior, well.. It was after all a fact out life that people turned out to be something entirely else as of what they appeared.

And this confusion didn't really help on her condition when Colap came crashing into the VIP suite followed by rodians who were playing bagpipes, resulting in her almost choking on her cigarette. what a crazy, crazy gathering.. And her frantic coughing didn't really get better when Colap suddenly came sliding across the table coming dangerously close to.. Well everything in his path. Plates and drinks smashed onto the ground in his wake. And then without too much chit chat people were up and grabbing a share of the drinks he had brought. A chukle and headshake was seen from Jennifer in comment to it all, amusing as it was it was the only proper response she could come up with. The Ravens were something, in its own odd odd way.

Oh and what was this, Jennifer's amber eyes diverted towards Cryax and Anstasia as she had finally gotten her breath under control after almost suffocating on her cigarette. My, my! She waited a bit waiting for the presence of her glance being felt by them, offering a smirk at the two and a short nod as if congratulating them. It wasn't too hard to see they were together from they way they acted around each other and this was news to Jennifer. She did not know Ana of course, she had seen her at a party she believed.. Somewhere.. So her silent comment was mostly directed as a tease at Cryax.

And then the door opened yet again, from the corner of her eye she saw a small gathering of people entering and decided to look towards them, finding, to her own surprise, two guards standing over a man with a bloodied lip.

"Aha? Cheating? Oh, cheating that word's unfamiliar to us all..." Jennifer muttered ironically, obviously directed at herself yet the melodious voice of hers was loud enough for almost everyone to hear. She took another drag from her cigarette and blew out a cloud of cyan smoke, her eyes falling onto Joran, the so called cheater.

"Hey." She spoke up with her usual jaunty sort of attitude, a slight smile seen upon her lip as she talked: "What's yar name?"

Jan VonFowl

Part-Time Party Crasher
My eyes widened with mock surprise, and I threw my hands up in the air melodramatically.

"Cheating? Oh no, whatever shall we do?"

I grinned at the man, and went back to my coffee, taking a long sip, and trying not to laugh.

"You don't have anything more important to do than catch a guy who palmed a card? Go back to shooting rats, you trigger-happy lunatics."

[member="Jen"] [member="Nei Laa"] [member="Joran Del-Finn"] [member="Anastasia Rade"] [member="Cryax Bane"] [member="Lok Jorunn"]

The party was in full swing and Cryax was enjoying himself immensely. He had a drink in his hand and his girl on his lap, and he wasn't being shot at or shoved down a sewer hole. The lack of those things counted as a good night for the Chiss slicer. He noticed [member="Jen"] giving him a snarky look for some reason. He just shrugged and chalked it up to her being a moody youngster.

Suddenly the security guards dumped a man into the VIP section. Ouch. The guards had done a real number on the guy's face. Cryax carefully lifted Anatasia off his lap and whispered to her. "Just one moment, darling." He followed it with a peck on her cheek.

As he made his way over to the guy on the floor, a guard took the Chiss aside and murmured something in his ear. Cryax nodded and then narrowed his glowing red eyes at the man. He stared at the man for a good minute before breaking out into a wide grin and offered a blue-skinned arm to help the man up.

"Welcome to the Red Ravens. I think we could use a fellow like you in our ranks."

[member="Jan VonFowl"] [member="Nei Laa"] [member="Joran Del-Finn"] [member="Anastasia Rade"] [member="Lok Jorunn"]

While the little kiddos were busying flashing snarky gazes at the newcomer who'd apparently been cheating, Lok only watched him with mild interest. It wasn't like guards to just bring a cheater straight to the VIP room and most rulebreakers were just beaten and then thrown out. He knew because it had happened to him more than once, but that was before he became a Raven. Sometimes it was much easier to just take a right hook than let loose with the fury of the Jorunn family and steal innocent lives.

The pirate sipped his alcohol, surprisingly, "We're just gonna let this fella in without even knowing his name?" he scoffed. It was a drunken guffaw and he probably looked like a lion attempting intelligent debate, but his reasoning was well within grounds. It was one thing to let a random into the pride and quite another to let a hyena in. Glancing at [member="Cryax Bane"], Lok dismissed his own argument with a shrug of his shoulders and the defensive raising of his hands. "Whatever. He's your problem."

It was probably the booze that made him so moody. Narrowed eyes flicked to both Cryax and this cheater before retreating to flop down next to [member="Lysle of the Hydian Way"].

Lysle Rigger remained seated in his sectioned-off booth, flanked by two lumbering Herglics that towered over most of the sentients in the room, and if they didn't best them in height, they surely bested them in sheer muscle. The orcas gave a brief glance as the man was dropped off, not in front of Lysle, but close enough. Small issues like this didn't warrant the attention of such a crime lord, one who ruled criminal underworlds spanning entire planets. While his fellows, those who likewise took their own slice of the check, and ran their personal large-scale operations that did indeed cross planets and borders alike, they nonetheless oft listen to these small issues. Then Nei rose her blaster, and Lysle furrowed a brow, "What do you think you're doing? He cheated, he didn't kill a man. Put that blaster away." Lok fell into the seat beside Lysle, the Herglics having moved aside for him. "You been to Kesh before?" he asked him.

Nei reholstered her weapon, flicking her visor back up. Glaring at the newcomer, she gave a terse reply to Lysle: "Don't like him. He be a stupid human." The Nautolan knew that was a flimsy excuse, but that didn't mean he had to like it.

Moving back to the bar, she grabbed her drink before turning around again to watch the proceedings. "He be very stupid human," she grumbled quietly, to no one in particular.

Thankfully, Lok had kept his drink in hand and eased the bronze liquid down in throat in hearty gulps. It was a nice way to pass the time and forget failures of the past, at least briefly. When managing the crew and assets aboard the Trident Lok rarely had time to indulge himself in these menial forms. If one looked closely, he was a man smart enough to know when and when not to drink his soul out. Most people didn't look hard enough to see the man beneath the grit, blood, and bared fangs.

"You been to Kesh before?"

Lylse did, though. The pirate appreciated him for what he was: a simple man. Most leaders and key figures were. If you broke down the galaxy to itty-bitty pieces, it was just full of simple, small people.

"I dunno," he admitted, "Probably. Been running so many flights these days that I don't even get a chance to put my sealegs on the ground." Lok sighed, sinking further into the cushioned seat. "How 'bout you, boss?"

Joran Del-Finn

Smuggler by day. Snuggler by night.
[member="Nei Laa"]

He showed no fear or concern in fact the blaster might not have even been there for as calm as he looked. “Morning to you to, love.” he said to the Nautolan shoving the blaster in his face. It wasn’t the first time he had a woman point a gun at him and knowing Joran it wouldn’t be the last.

[member="Cryax Bane"] [member="Jen"]

A couple more people came to address him now. A Chiss and a young girl who looked around twenty maybe younger. She asked him his name and he took a second to decide weather he should be honest or not. The Chiss’ out stretched hand made the decision for him.

“Joran Del-Finn of the once famed Del-Finn mercenary company.” his family was once a prominent gaggle of hired guns before getting fat on their fame and settling into comfortable lives working for Valturla the Hutt. Joran himself spent many years working for the Hutt, who was still a valuable contact. Joran had never actually been a member of his family’s mercenary company, but he like to think of himself as the company reborn. A new generation of Del-Finn bounty hunters.

[member="Lok Jorunn"] [member="Lysle of the Hydian Way"]
“Aye, that guy has a point. You don’t even know me.” Joran didn’t know what a Red Raven was but he knew he wasn’t one or he wasn’t gonna be forced to be one at any rate.

As he stood there he glanced around the room and noticed a familiar blonde haired girl.

“Cyr’ika! are you following me now?” he asked [member="Anastasia Rade"], surprised to see here here.

The Chiss listened to Joran with a smile on his face up until the part where he greeted Anastasia. Then something in his face changed. Cryax definitely did not like another male calling Anatasia his cyar'ika. Plus, after slugging it out with her people on Balab I, the slicer's trust in the Mandalorians had faltered a bit. He'd heard through the grapevine that, despite the fact that the Chiss had even had a cordial meeting with the Manda'lor, some of Ana's aliit wanted to kill him for his relationship with one of theirs. He couldn't help but feel like an unwelcome presence around the man before him.

"Cryax Bane, slicer." He gave the merc a steely nod, his red eyes now cold. "I'm the secretary of the Ravens, and before you ask, yes, I'm also the guy that fixes the computers."

Even though he was seething inside, he stayed tight-lipped especially because the man had biceps the size of large tree trunks. He might have been jealous, but he didn't have a death wish.

[member="Joran Del-Finn"] [member="Anastasia Rade"]

"Joran, I'm not following you. Also, my name is Ana." She sighed. She could feel Cryax tensing up over the situation but he didn't say a thing. Ana wrapped an arm around him giving him a kiss of reassurance. I'm here with my cyar'ika, Cryax, whom invited me here." Ana didn't care what the Mando's thought of Cryax. They loved each other, that's what truly mattered. Leaning over she wrapped her other around around his neck. The fact that she was sitting on his lap with her arms around him made it pretty clear whose darling she was. Ana had to admit it was kind of cute seeing him get so worked up over this guy Ana barely met. He had been her tour guide on a trip to see snow.

"The real question Joran is what are you doing here? Are you joining the Ravens or did you stumble in here?"

[member="Cryax Bane"] [member="Joran Del-Finn"]

The smoke billowed from between his lips as Logan took another drag from the cigarette hanging from in between his index and middle finger. The man introduced himself as Lysle made a comment towards Nei Laa's apparent eagerness to put a bolt in the mans chest. He watched intently, spinning his chair slightly to better face the scene, as Cryax addressed the man. He could see Cryax tense up as the man on his knees addressed his women, calling her something along the lines of darling. His Mandalorian was a little bit rusty, but he got the gist of it. But Cryax was a professional and he put up a steel curtain as he turned his attention back to the man.

Logan decided he wasn't going to butt in on this one, but watch instead. He was still relatively new and although he had began slowly carving himself a place inside of the organization there was no point in him doing things that didn't fall to him. He went to put his leg on top of the opposite knee, leaning back as he did but quickly realized that in his sore state it wasn't the best of ideas. He put his leg down and settled for just reclining in the chair with a smoke in one hand and a drink in the other. There wasn't much that could make this night much better, other than a women of equal beauty as the one Cryax had on his arm. He shrugged the idea out of his head; when the time was right he was sure the right women would come along but for now, it wasn't the time. There was money to be made and places to see. But for now, he turned his attention back to watch the situation unfold.

“Secretary, eh? You get coffee and file paper work?” Joran wasn’t thick, he could see the Chiss tense up as soon as addressed [member="Anastasia Rade"]. Joran wasn’t remotely interested in the girl or who she was dating for that matter. He met her once at a bar and that was it, if she wanted to fool around with these people, that was her business and she was welcome to it. For all his jealousy [member="Cryax Bane"] stayed extremely professional. You had to give the kid some credit. Ana on the other hand, made it clear just how young she was, marking her territory like she did. Was she truly afraid the boy was so sensitive? And if he was, why would a Mandalorian put up with such petty weakness?

“You’ll always be Cyar’ika to me.” he joked at her through a smile, deliberately trying to provoke her and the Chiss. Truth be told he didn’t even know if he liked this girl in anyway, he knew he didn’t have a romantic interest, he only called her Cyar’ika because she was the first Mando’ade woman who ever got to say it to more than once without getting stabbed.

“Whad’ju care what I’m here for girl? You got your file clerk to worry about, yeah?”

his patience was gone. He didn’t feel the need to be interrogated by some girl half his age with her accusing tone and stand offish demeanor.

“What in the Karking hell is a Red Raven, anyway?” the name had been thrown around more than a few times now. Enough to peak Joran’s interest, they were obviously wealthy enough to afford a private room in one of the more expensive casinos Joran had ever been in. something like that required not just credits but clout.

Jennifer wasn't moody, she was currently in a good mood actually and currently she thought that there would go quite a lot of effort into anyones attempt to change that. No. Her smirk had been as a friendly tease. However all of this self explanation she had to due with herself as both Ana and Cryax had somewhat ignored her congratulation was stopped rather abruptly in her brain as the conversation around the man who had entered the room became somewhat louder. Joran Del-Finn? That was what he had introduced himself as she believed.

Her ears caught up the last part of the question the newcomer had asked. Jennifer was sitting by the end of the dining table in the room leant back in a comfortable leather chair and with her cigarette in her hand, its cyan smoke hovering silently towards the ceiling in the room. She smiled at herself before deciding to answer the mans question from her seated position, perhaps with a hint of irony heard in her melodious voice. She however attempted to sound sincere.

"We're ornithologists, study birds and such." She cracked a wide smile, attempting to keep her calm: "Currently we're looking for the red raven. A- ermm.. Very special breed belonging to the wild life here on Antcedant." She covered her mouth to with her free hand to surpress her wide teasing grin, laughter seen in her eyes.

It was a bit of a bizarre response, but it wasn't everyday an outside came into the Dragon Palace and entered the VIP rooms without knowing a single thing about the RR. So why not make the most out of it.

Once Cryax had a few drinks in his system, he usually got sloppy. The Chiss slicer was known to spill drinks, start fights, and say inappropriate things to anyone unlucky enough to be in his vicinity. Cryax was a terrible drunk and Joran's taunt about his role in the Ravens was just the thing to set him off. He stepped forward a few paces. If he were now persona non grata around the Mandalorians, he figured he may as well live up to that reputation.

Fed up with the insults, Cryax suddenly walked right up to the man, and to the consternation of those around him, boldly gave the much bigger man a rough shove. "You need to show some respect," the Chiss growled. At that moment it didn't matter that the man outweighed him by a hundred pounds or so, the alcohol in his system bolstered either his confidence or his stupidity, depending on where you were standing.
