Nei Laa

Grumpy cat? No no no -- grumpy squid!

Nei finished off her drink, rolling her eyes at the machoness going on. "Stupid men," she mumbled. This was probably why she'd never had a love interest -- men tended to think that they constantly needed to prove that they were, well, men. No matter what species, no matter what planet, it was always the same.

The one female's response -- Jen, was it? -- earned a snort of amusement from the Nautolan. Even though Nei had no clue what an ornithologist or whatever was. Nor did she care, really.

As Joran and Cryax continued being "macho", she merely refilled her drink, waiting to see if she would be needed. Her twitchy trigger finger was back, after all.

She was going to try and be a lady and not punch in [member="Joran Del-Finn"] face over his comments. Ana may be young but she had been through a lot in her life. He also had no right to insult her lover just because he was jealous or something.

The young woman thought of getting involved but than thought better of it. She wanted to give him a chance to be 'macho' and defend her honor. If things got bad she would step in and break up the fight. Ana wouldn't let him get into too much trouble.

Downing the rest of her drink she sighed and shook her head as she just watched getting herself another drink. Ana had a feeling this was going to be a long night.

Joran Del-Finn

Smuggler by day. Snuggler by night.
[member="Nei Laa"] [member="Anastasia Rade"]

“Did you try, looking up your assho-” Joran didn’t get a chance to finish responding to [member="Jen"] ‘s comments because suddenly [member="Cryax Bane"] got tired of hearing Joran’s mouth. The Chiss gave Joran a hard drunken shove that sent Joran back a couple of steps.

Joran put his hands up and walked back to the chiss “Look mate, I’m sorry. I just...” in the middle of speaking Joran swung his head foreword hard looking to break the Chiss’ face with his own head. The kid wanted respect but he hadn’t proved he deserved any.

Julian Solo had been standing around at the reserved bar, out of earshot of the VIP lounge. Though he knew a commotion when he saw one, and his eyes danced upon the scenario unfolding. Some hotshot wasn't playing nice, and to make matters worse, it was in front of his employer, Mr. Rigger. Then there was a shove by the secretary, and next second he knew Joran snapped his head forward in a cracking headbutt. The Mandalorian set his hands on the tabletop and pushed off in the direction of the escalating situation. He approached Joran from behind, his footsteps coming as heavy thuds. Much of his body was cybernetically replaced, or enhanced. When you joined the Jedi-killing business, it paid good to be one step above them.

It didn't matter much that the man stood several inches taller, he would reach out from behind with curled fingers. With crushgaunts, and the added benefit of mechanical arms, his strength was mighty. Servomotors churned as the output was increased, enough to attempt to raise this man off the ground, and quite literally hurl him away from the secretary. Like an overgrown child throwing a barbie doll in disgust. He would crane his neck to Logan, his face concealed by the great sweeping helmet, "Your turn. "

There was often this unspoken rule between family members: You could tease said members and you could even fight them. Disagree and in general be mad at each other for all sorts of reasons. However there was single catch to this unspoken rule which consisted of what would appear to be a carrying concept to the whole of it. That being that it had to be a member of the family that teased the others. The family members were the only ones who had the right to bully one another and if they caught another person not related to them doing this, the family would put all differences aside and fight the threat. Some families had this and some didn't. But even though the Red Ravens weren't exactly a family of blood related fellows, then this rule still held up. For the most part.

Of course Joran's cheeky response hadn't exactly helped with keeping Jennifer her calm after he went up front on Cryax and as an answer to this Jennifer spinned in her chair to face Joran from the far end of the dining table, leaning back in it as she with a frown digged a hand into one of the many cases and pouches attached to her trousers, grasping around the grip of a blaster which she dragged immediately while she slammed her right foot against the edge of the table to stabilize herself from her seated position.

A zooming noise was heard from the blaster as the safety was switched off and activated. Her finger was off the trigger though, she had little intention of actually using it considering how many other capable people were closer to the Cryax and Joran than Jennifer herself. However the zooming noise would at least bring attention to the presence of the weapon and this would hopefully calm things a bit down.

"Oi, Oak Arm! Back off before your fingers get cut off!"
She had to admit though, that had been a pretty smart move from his side. Well.. At least combat wise.

After he shoved the bounty hunter, Cryax had expected a punch he could dodge or a hook he could sidestep away from. What he hadn't expected was the mercenary's brick-like head to hit him smack in the middle of his own forehead, momentarily dazing him. The Chiss reeled backwards and grabbed hold of a nearby booth edge in order to get his bearings. As the room spun, he ran his fingers through his blue-black hair and shook his head, blinking his red eyes. Once the room stopped tilting sideways, he saw a Raven he didn't know barrel towards the man, grabbing him. At the same time, Jen also leveled her blaster at him, something he'd never seen her do. The room suddenly got tenser than he wanted, and Cryax felt like he needed to calm everyone's jets. Plus he felt that Ana would appreciate him taking the high road.

The secretary put his hands out in a conciliatory gesture. "Look it's alright. Everyone just calm down. Just put the guy down. We're here to celebrate tonight, not fight." He said the last part as if he himself weren't the one that started amping up the hostility in the first place. Then Cryax turned towards a small rolling bar droid, "Get the guy a drink willya?"

He looked Joran square in the face. "I think we've had our fun here. No hard feelings right?"

Chiasa had been reading the news. It was not something she enjoyed doing, it just seemed necessary. The Raven had turned out to be every bit ambitious as she could have hoped, and as they moved up in the world it became more and more important to know what was going on on a galaxy-wide scale. So every day on top of her own personal regimens, the networking and socializing that she also saw as necessary, she slogged through as many headlines as possible. All the better to be informed and one step ahead my dear.

Which is how she wound up one step behind in the delightful scene unfolding before her. Still, better late than never. Cryax was getting a handle on things now, but for all that the blow to the head seemed to have sobered him up, there was no saying that the other gentleman would see things the same way. The Ravens were exactly the sort of group that attracted folks who would keep fighting even when they were clearly outnumbered and outgunned. Which was fantastic when they were on your side and you'd pointed them at the enemy and let them go, less so when they were on your home turf getting your other guard dogs riled up.

"We do try to keep our partying and fighting mostly separated, the spilled drinks are such a waste.."

The Twi'lek commented calmly as she approached with a friendly nod to Jen and Cyrax, as well as one to Cyrax's lady friend, good for him!

"Perhaps you heard the yelling man with the bagpipes? We've just taken a world. So of course we assumed when a mercenary shows up, that he might be looking for a job. For a famed company, I'm afraid I've not heard of you Joran Del-Finn, and I hear of many people."

A gentle reminder, if the blaster aimed at him and the cyberneticly enhanced powerhouse behind him was not enough, that he was not on his own turf and he was not playing with a gang of street thugs. And of course an opportunity to turn matters back to business if he'd like, or to withdraw, either way.

Funny to think that not long ago they would be pretending to have never heard of the Ravens and that he must be in the wrong place until he'd found a way to prove himself. Now.. Bagpipes.

An unfortunate choice of musical accompaniment but there you were. It took all sorts. Still, it wasn't what she'd call music you could dance to.

Joran now had a second woman draw down on him in a matter of minutes, and here he thought it was going to be a slow day. As Joran readied himself hit [member="Cryax Bane"] again, he felt a cold metal hand grip him hard from behind and actually lift him a few inches from the ground.. He was in trouble now and he knew it.

While he tried to work out a way out of this a skinned Twi’lek question the validity of his claim to the Del-Finn infamy.

“Once famed, Love.” he corrected.

“Lets all calm down, yeah? Me and him...” he waved his hand back and forth from his Cryax and himself rapidly. “…was just solving a gentleman’s dispute, right? Now let’s do what he said. Have the droid put me down or the uh, beskar’ad to put me down.” a little in joke to the Mandalorian holding him.

Cryax still felt like a freighter crash landed on his head, but he stood tall and scanned the Mandalorian mercanary with his glowing red eyes. A part of him felt like the guy was bluffing and he was about to get sucker-punched, especially because he knew that a Mandalorian 'gentlemen's dispute' was not usually gentlemanly at all. Still, he thought he'd give the man the benefit of the doubt. He had already faced xenophobic attitudes from Anatasia's clan, so there was no need to add more fuel to that fire.

"In case you guys didn't hear me," he said loudly to Jen and Julian Solo. "Stand down."

The Chiss nodded his head at Joran. "Yep, there's no need to get everyone else involved in this, buddy. Me and you can talk this out like civilized human and near-human beings right?"

Once things started to settle down a little Jennifer slowly went to get her foot away from the edge of the table before Lysle, who had previously shoved her feet down from it, would notice. At least that was how it could be interpreted, perhaps the fact that it wasn't the most comfortable position to sit in helped on it as it after all had only been placed there to stabilize her should she have needed to shoot. And shooting a glance at her sneakers she could easily come to the conclusion that they were actually not that dirty, for a change. Luckily for the table one could suppose.

She was still wary even though she had slowly started to sit normally in her chair. Her eyes would be seen cautiously going between each person as they spoke, trying to calm down the situation. And what was that? A familiar face she had not seen in a while, good to see her back. She gave a quick friendly nod in Chiasa's direction just before the buzzing noise from Jennifer's blaster was heard disappearing as it started to power down, the safety turned back on a few moments after Joran and Cryax had come to.. Somewhat of an agreement that the fight needed to be broken up.

"So.." Jennifer started out, her eyes going back towards Joran and the guards behind him: "How much did he actual cheat for? And in what game?" She had actually been wonderous good at keeping herself from playing too much Sabacc here at The Dragon Palace, it was a game she absolutely adored and had a hard time not playing. Back on Coruscant before she was introduced to the Ravens she had been an avid player, one could almost say that it was in her genes.

Julian Solo hesitated momentarily in settling the Mandalorian down. He didn't appreciate cheaters, but that didn't bother him. What had bothered him was someone was looking to cause trouble, and no less with half the upper echelon of the Red Ravens being present. It didn't matter if he didn't seem that big a threat, anyone could potentially be a Black Sun operative, and given the amount of influential Ravens here, if just one crazy maniac decided to pull a switch, they could wipe out the Raven leadership in a fell swoop. He tightened his squeeze briefly before settling him down, pulling his hands back to drape his palms over his twin blasters in their holsters. He remained standing behind him, close enough that he would be non-metaphorically breathing down his neck.

The chair went flying backwards, screeching softly as the legs rubbed grated against the floor. It teetered on two legs before it came crashing to the floor, barely audible over the sound of the Mandalorians face smashing into Cryax's and all the movement and chaos that followed. He started to move forward, his hand dropping to his side; flicking off the small leather band that covered the top of the holster and drawing the pistol in one fluid motion. All of a sudden Julian came from behind and picked Jorann up, nodding to Logan and telling him that it was his turn. He grinned as he stepped forward but was quickly stopped by Cryaxs words. The Chiss had chosen to take the high road... again. Hopefully not resulting in the same outcome. It was obvious that his Mandalorian couldn't be trusted, so he kept his hand at his waist, thumbs tucked into his belt in a resting position. He watched intently as they exchanged a few choice words, an almost undetectable edge in both of their voices.

Logan clenched his fist and lifted it to his face, coughing into it as a result from years of smoking. His lungs weren't in great condition but there wasn't much that could be done at this point. He had been making a mental note to cut back but it wasn't going to well at this point. He took a step back at Cryax's command to Jen and Julian, leaning against the table. Shaking his head at the poor attempt of a joke from Jorann, he let Cryax finish his question before turning to Jen with a chuckle and a wink. "Looking for karking birds? You can do better than that."

Luckily for... Both Cryax and Joran it seemed like that the situation started to decelerate, the tense words and postures of people seeming to soften up, relax. Jennifer had let out a sigh of both relief and perhaps even irritation of some sort as she too decided to not bother terribly much, turning her chair to face the holoscreen with the movie still running in the background. The hero was now at some sort of construction site, seemingly hunting the bad guy with a crude blaster drawn in his hand.

She didn't get to watch too many seconds though, Logan had turned towards her. The bearded man let out a chuckle, one fitting his lumberjack like appearance followed by a wink she caught the glimpse of out of her eye, directed at her. He talked as he chuckled, commenting on her joke. "Looking for karking birds? You can do better than that."

And she probably could have. It was funny to her though and it had seemed just perfect in the moment. A tug was seen at the corner of her lips, indicating a slight smile as she turned in the chair to look towards him. "I for one." She started out, putting on a factual voice, the badly hidden grin seen broadening on her face, "Found the joke funny. Truly though, we need an actual red raven to have sitting on some golden pillar or something. That would be very mafia like, damn." Her slight grin widened even more at the thought. Actually, maybe it wasn't that bad of an idea.
