STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES :
(+) Melee Combat: Dispara is highly skilled with melee weapons.
(+) Immune to Alcohol: Perhaps it is the unusual combination of Human and Sephi DNA, but no matter how much Dispara drinks, she will only feel a slight buzz.
(+ )Hearty Constitution: Being raise for 14 years on a non-industrial agricultural planet, Dispara's simple, wholesome diet has given her a body with limited resistance to disease, fatigue and minor toxins.
(+)Mechanical Inclination: Dispara's Sephi heritage gives her a knack with machinery. This applies mostly to low tech, vehicles and some starship components. A good example is the fuel gun she carries that she made from scraps.
(-) Internal Strife: Dispara deals with internal conflict between her affiliation with the Dark Side and the girl-that-was before the Jarvashqiine shamans indoctrinated her. This can lead to moments of hesitancy and emotional confusion.
(-) Impish: Dispara's behavior can be erratic, unpredictable and even creepy. She delights in mischief, keeping people guessing. This doens't make it easy for people to trust her.
(-) Luna Weed Addict: A crop of delusion-inducing Luna Weed introduced on Antamont centuries ago has been part of Jarvashquiine rituals there since. Dispara used it frequently during her hard and sometimes abusive training before she was truly accepted as a shaman. She got the jones for it.
APPEARANCE:
Dispara is slender of build, fit but not cut with muscle. Her features are delicate and framed in straight long blonde hair that is sometimes pulled into a pony tail but rarely seemed cared for. Her most notable features are her pointed ears and her piercing pale blue eyes. They were once a deep brown but the slow corruption of the Dark Side has begun to manifest by stealing the color from her eyes.
PERSONALITY:
Mischievous and dark humored, Dispara might best be described as "Impishly malevolent." Her dark side tendencies have created a sense of confusion and disconnect in many parts of her life. Raised by a Force cult who killed her parents, Dispara faced a lot of internal conflict and conundrum in her later childhood. Her flight from all she knew only exacerbated that sense of misplacement in an overwhelming galaxy. While she can be whimsical and bawdy, cruel and wicked, a flicker of Light within her taunts her with guilt.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born Sarai Tommlan, Dispara's parents were traders. Her Sephi father, Human mother and their child traveled together on the family freighter. They traveled mostly to less industrialized worlds, gathering local agricultural and specialized goods for sale or barter elsewhere. Even as a youth Sarai knew she was different. She just 'felt' it. And she could feel when someone else was 'different' too. She had even learned how to do some small tricks, one's she would not show her parents, for fear they would be afraid or believe something was wrong with her. Then, two days after her 10th birthday, the family landed on Antamont, a farming planet in the Outer RIm. The second night into their visit to trade for local produce, The family was attacked along a path they had followed to a ridge to see the stars. Sarai was abducted.
Her captors were shamans of the Jarvashquiine, a coven of spiritual cultists, called witches and sorcerors by the local population. For the Jarvashiquiine, significant rituals required blood to be shed. Their leader had recently died, and her successor was to be coronated by a blood rite. Sarai would provide that blood. As she was whisked away in a sack, struggling and crying for her parents, the child sensed it. Her attackers were 'different'. She didn't want them to know she was, and she used that very power to hide her difference from them.
Later, Sarai found herself bound to a table, surrounded by strangers in strange clothes. One, with more elaborate garb, stood over her with a dagger in his hand. The girl knew what was to come. She writhed and wriggled, straining and reaching for that unseen thing she had known as long as she could remember. Soon, she slipped a wrist from its bonds and reached to snatch the dagger from the shaman's hand. As cries of the followers rang out, she plunged the dagger into the chest of the man above her. The man fell to his knees, clutching his bleeding chest. Stunned into inaction, the onlookers watched aghast as the girl cut the rest of her bonds and jumped off the table. There was no room to escape, so she simply waved the dagger menacingly before her, whimpering, smeared in blood.
Years passed. Her parents had been killed that night, and the scared young girl adhered to her family's killers, for she had no one else. Sarai became one of them. While she did not become the leader, the woman who spoke to her that night, Shalterria, took the Shaman Mother position. She finished raising Sarai, whom she renamed Dispara, teaching her the way of the Jarvashqiine magic. Dispara became one of them. But her true heritage, and her life before Antamont, still lingered within her. She longed for more, for the wider galaxy she had known as a child. Certainly the magic she had learned could grow more powerful, beyond the limits of the Jarvashquiine.
Dispara planned to leave, but told Shalterria she was only making a journey, to find how to reconcile who she was with who she had become, to find the balance that would bring her even more power. Her mentor gave her a talisman (Force artifact) that would help Dispara focus her powers and allowed her to leave. When traders arrived again to the planet, Dispara purchased passage with them in the guise of a star-eyed young woman eager to see the galaxy. Her quest for more knowledge and power had begun.
It was only after she began to travel the galaxy did Dispara realize that the Jarvashquiine magic existed elsewhere, referred to by many as the Force. Finding it difficult after many attempts to find a place, a culture to fill need to belong, she found it in an unlikely place aboard a pirate vessel.
She found little qualms with the work of the pirates, while finding the bond among them appealing. With her rather frightening array of Force powers, wicked blades and devilish personality, it was no surprise how quickly she worked her way up the ranks, and eventually to captain her own small vessel. While she and her crew are too small to do only the smallest jobs, she and her ship are a true boon to any pirate captain who would work with her.
