"Busy as in terms of giving you another granddaughter or work? Or managing the chaos that is this family? I think you can safely assume all of the above." Immediately fixing his hair by running a hand in it, he chuckled. "We can catch up any time. Just say the word."

He was counting on Persephone to keep an eye on both Phoebe and Kellan as he heard distant giggling. Makai was assuming the pair was going to try to look out a window and spy on his father and their guest. He could easily round them back up before dinner - he doubted Cerys wanted to be overrun by questions from two talkative five year olds.

"Myra doesn't cook. Scratch that, she can bake. So by default I have to touch the knives." Moving to briefly hug his brother, the half-Galan motioned to the bar set up on one side of the kitchen. "Pour your own. Take what you want too, I'm not drinking right not out of solidarity. You too Mom, feel free to take a bottle of wine or something back home."

Settling onto a stool at the kitchen island, head gazed out back for a moment.

"So, what is she asking Dad? Shame we don't have any baby pictures of you in the tub or something equally embarrassing to share."

Despite this matter of Balun having a child still filling Cerys with a distinct level of discomfort, there was a subtle change in her presence. A quick glance of reserved respect was offered toward her master, before it quickly faded back into her professional demeanour.

"You and your family have done a great thing for Kellan," she acknowledged, "I am sure it was very hard to convince Balun to do this..." She cast him another glance, with just a hint of something other than annoyance. "...he is very stubborn."

A gentle nod and a thank you was offered to the elder Dashiell, before Cerys moved to join the rest of the grown members of the family. She glanced about for the children, and felt a pang of disappointment that she did not get more time to interact with them.

Eyes were on her, even when people were trying not to be so obvious about it. "
Greetings...all...I am Balun Dashiell's padawan...Cerys Dyn," she said, realising have way through that they knew more than all of that.

And now they knew she was not good at this. Great.

"What is for dinner?"

Thessa grabbed Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell in a firm hug before he could escape. Family was family even if it wasn't by blood. A glance back at her son, Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell . "I vote yes for another grandchildren but spare me the details, hun. As bad as if your dad and I told you about the night you were conceived."

She finished setting the table, pouring herself a glass of wine.

Fingers drifting over the glass stem thoughfully.

"Welcome, Cerys," Thessa said warmly. "Sit wherever you like." Setting her own wine down, she frowned and turned slightly away. Fingers coming up to rub at the sharp pain she felt along her temple. She could feel the beginnings of the migraine. Something she'd struggled with for a long time now. Quietly excusing herself, she went back to one of the bedrooms in search of her medicine.

Judah blinked once. Then twice. He was oddly silently as he wondered if there was some type of test involved and he had just passed it. Jedi seemed to always be speaking in riddles and back speak instead of just outright asking, he didn't see why a test would be any different.

"Stubborn tends to be a family trait."

It appeared she had no other questions. So they went back inside where she introduced herself yet again. Just as awkward as Balun, it was not a good combination in his eyes. Two awkward Jedi trying to handle a sensitive diplomatic situation? He could only imagine the disaster.

Walking back in, there was a small frown as his ex retreated to a back bedroom. Head issues had plagued her since being found so he wasn't surprised. Probably too much going on considering the guests plus kids running about and the entire unknown of why Balun actually brought his student around.

Still odd to him.

"Roasted nuna and vegetables, a risotto. Various desserts brought by Thessa. Everything should be done soon."
Judah motioned to the bottle of wine on the table. "Can I force Balun to get you something? Wine? Whisky? Mead? Brandy? Ales? Water?"

Since Persephone had drifted away, Phoebe and Kellan were left to their own devices. Which meant conspired whispering between themselves as they crept upstairs. Some giggling and a quick separation into their rooms before coming back and bounding rather loudly down the stairs. Cerys hadn't met all the members of the family yet - there were still the pets, although Phoebe was certain the three Loth-cats were hiding in the basement.

Spotting the newcomer, Phoebe and Kellan bound right up to her as she settled in. The woman probably hadn't had a moment to breathe. Hands opened revealing a small, very bright orange salamander.

"Miss Cerys you didn't meet everyone. This is Sally. She's a salamander. Mama and Papa got her for me when they got Kellan one. If you touch her you gotta be real careful cause Papa says they can't be poked around at."

Phoebe nudged her cousin.

"Go on Kellan, she's gotta see both."

Meanwhile, Makai just rubbed his own temple. Maybe he needed to borrow one of his mother's pills to deal with the kids wanting to talk their guest to death. Iced azure gaze flicked to Balun, silently asking if Cerys was going to survive an introduction into small amphibians.

"Its a good thing your mother isn't down here. You know how she feels about anything vaguely snake-like."

Clearly he was the parent in charge of salamander feeding and enclosure duty because of that.

"So, what is she asking Dad? Shame we don't have any baby pictures of you in the tub or something equally embarrassing to share."

"I'm trying not to consider the countless possibilities, nor their consequences..." Balun muttered under his breath with a sideways smirk, tilting his head to look back at his brother from the alcohol cabinet, already a bottle of fine whiskey in hand and reaching for a crystal glass with a generous circumference.

Balun didn't get the opportunity to explain his apprehension, however, as it didn't take long for Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell and Cerys Dyn Cerys Dyn to rejoin them all once more, followed by the two younglings briefly disappearing.

"Greetings...all...I am Balun Dashiell's padawan...Cerys Dyn,"

Cerys reintroduced herself to the group, albeit awkwardly, and Balun took the opportunity to speak up, now with his glass full of copper-tinged liquid; he raised it first in a gesture to Cerys herself before looking to Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell , Persephone Dashiell Persephone Dashiell and Thessa Kai Thessa Kai , who would shortly depart.

"Master and Apprentice, yes, but she's plenty experienced, and I'd even go so far as to say she would even give me a run for my credits in training," he grinned, looking back at his Togruta friend. Cerys had indeed bested him on the sparring floor on a number of occasions, though they both put up a good fight. It was easy to be proud of her skills and instincts as a Jedi. The irony was that things between them often became complicated when their lightsabers weren't involved.

With his father having offered Balun up as a service to his Padawan, he chuckled softly and lifted his head in a half-nod to Cerys, his free hand gesturing to the shelf at his side lined with bottles of wines, spirits and laga's. The Dashiells did enjoy a tasteful drop on such events, though some more than others. "What would you prefer, Cerys?"

And should the choice be made any more difficult, the two younglings seemed to turn back up looking rather mischievous and proud of themselves. Balun's gaze shifted between Phoebe and his son, Kellan Dashiell Kellan Dashiell , both of whom seemed to be holding something in their hands, intent on showing Cerys.

'Things are going well so far...' he thought. Hopefully not putting his foot in it.

Kellan's Salamander was a darker shade of blue with little spots and beady black eyes that kinda looked like him in a way, different from Phoebe's, much like Kellan was different from most people, and that was why he loved little Sola. Phoebe had named hers Sammy, and so it only seemed right that Kellan named his something similar-sounding. Sammy and Sola -- Just like Phoebe and Kellan!

Holding out both hands to Cerys Dyn Cerys Dyn , he opened them to reveal the little Salamander with blue reflective skin sitting silently within his palms, peering up at the Togruta. "This is Sola!" Kellan introduced him to Cerys. "Uncle Makai got him for me when I first started with the Agricrops", he mispronounced the word, though no doubt the others would understand what he was referencing.

"They don't bite. Not us. We're too big, but that don't stop Aunt Myra from getting scared" Kellan giggled a little as he glanced at Phoebe, the words incited by Uncle Makai's reminder. Between the two younglings, Kellan was perhaps the bigger risk-taker of the two, gambling on how far he could push the boundaries at times, but he hadn't yet shown any outright disobedience or disrespect.

"Well. This visit would not be complete without meeting Sammy," Cerys said as she stooped down to Phoebe's level. Despite the Togruta's rigidity, her face exuded a warmth that was rarely seen within the Jedi Sanctuary. Children deserved only the most sincerest kindness that she could grant.

"I will just have some water, please," she said, head turning towards both Judah and Balun just for the moment. The lightness, and softness of her expression did not falter for a moment.

"Just a little pat then?" Cerys said before oh-so-gently running the tip of her finger along the back of Sammy the Salamander. "Sammy is such a proper name for a salamander. Very well done on your part. Sammy is wonderful."

When the young boy returned with his pet, Cerys maintained the surprising openness — though she did shoot a wary glance at her Master.

"Sola...on my...Kellan...Sola is delightful..." Her eyes grew wide as the critter was revealed and she offered the young boy a small, complementary smile.

Again, she allowed the slightest of strokes along the back of the pet. But most of her attention was given to the boy. "I'm sure you never...ever...scare your Aunt on purpose. Surely?"
