Nar Shaddaa(2 Months Prior to Save Me)

"One more." The man said as he raised his hand up at the bar, and the waitress came by and acknowledge him but showed a look of concern on her face. "Isn't that enough sweetheart" She inquired as she placed a hand on his briefly before setting them down in front of her on the bar.

"Not quite. I just like drinking." He gave her a wink and she just chuckled lightly and poured him another drink. "Last one, and I"m calling you a escort home." Aston bowed his head lightly before he reached for the glass that she just poured raised it to his lips and took a small sip. Aston was by no means an alcoholic, however tonight was cause to celebrate. And while in his own world, in close proximity everything was quiet, while outside his bubble everything was loud and chaotic in the bar at least. Which Aston found amusing that the waitress seemed so concerned with him, or maybe she was wanted to get laid?

Words were being said, punches were being thrown and even blaster were being drawn. One could wonder what Aston Jacobs was doing here of all places and why he wouldn't want to be someplace else, less feral. Aston came here to remind himself that no matter what things could always get more chaotic, and they were about too....

Aston raised the glass to his lips just when it seemed an all out brawl and just started and someone was thrown into him and someone wielding a bottle was charging at him. Aston chugged his drink really quick and brought his left hand up easily enough to block the combatants hand. His right came forward sending a good open palmed strike to his chest sending him falling backward until he turned around and another individual charged him.

Madness

"Let's do this!" Aston said and began to engage.

Years.

That was how long it had been since Kamon had seen his son. For the longest time he had been certain that both Aston and Spencer hated him. He wished it weren't true being as he loved them dearly, but he'd come to accept that he had been a horrible father, as he was absent most of their lives. It was part of what it meant to be a Rogue Jedi. He'd never been able to sit back and just let things go. It hadn't felt right to him to do so.

Times were changing, though. He still killed Sith when he got the chance, but more often than not he didn't go in search of them. Despite having joined the Rebels, he still no longer really considered himself a Sith Hunter. If he were still that, he would be traveling around the galaxy finding them wherever he could and dealing with them. He had no desire anymore to spend his time in such a fashion. He just wanted to help people be free now.

Word had gotten to him that [member="Aston Jacobs"] was on Nar Shaddaa, so he had decided it might be a good idea to go and see his son, even just briefly. He'd flown his fighter half way across the galaxy to the decrepit world of debauchery and worse judt to go in search of him. And sure enoigh he had been able to find him lurking inside some cantina, clearly drinking more than he should have been. Since when was Aston an alcoholic? he wondered.

But as soon as he entered a brawl broke out. This wasn't what he expected when he had decided to go looking for his son. It was what he found, though, so he had to deal with it. His response was to grab the first guy that was thrown in his direction and chuck him out into the street outside. The less they were hidden, the more likely someone would deal withtheir lunacy. It also meant one more person between him and his son. Other's tried to attack him, but it was easy to avoid drunken strikes.

They didn't have that luxury, and Kamon had officially entered the brawl.

It had been a good long time since the Aston had been into a fight, and he felt he could hold his own very well. And he quite forgot how much of a thrill it was. Several individuals that had made their way his way had ended up on the ground in a painful fashion until he grabbed the next individual pulled him closer until he tossed him over the bar.

Aston stumbled back a few paced by accident that was until be bumped into someone else and he turned around and attempted to grab him by the collar that was until he got a good look at who it was and he couldn't believe his eyes.

[member="Kamon Vondiranach"]

Aston hadn't seen him in a very long time, his father. The last time he recalled that he saw him was at his wedding, at which he recalled Spencer and Ashin there. And that whole deal turned out to be a godly chaotic disaster. Aston's hand returned from the attempted collar grab and he just shook his head. "What are you doing here?" Aston inquired with a slight pained look on his face, that was until he quickly reared back and attempted to punch his father in face.

The dance was not satisfying. Fighting a bunch of drunk idiots in a cantina was nothing at all like duking it out with the best thr Sith had to offer. Frankly, he would have found it more enjoyable to go and fight a bunch of droids in hand to hand combat than the drunken rabble. Suffice to say, he had no trouble getting the upper hand on anyone that got close enough to him to be a bother. Which wasn't many people considering Aston was handling some, despite being heavily intoxicated himself.

When they bumped into each other, he turned as Aston did, his hands raised to strike, but stopped when he saw who it was. There wasn't surprise there, but there was certainly a healtht dose of disappointment on his face. He could have said something about finding Aston drunk while his twin sister was running a world, but he didn't because you couldn't compare people in such a manner. He was disappointed, though.

"Could ask you the same," he said, right hand moving to force Aston's hand to veer off course while the other darted in to strike at the underarm pressure point. "What is become of you that you seek this company and drown yourself in liquor?"

[member="Aston Jacobs"]

"Oh you know..." Aston said as his father countered well enough it seemed and got him a pressure point at which pained Aston, he grimaced a bit, however he wasn't going to give in. "Gotta get my kicks somehow, and for starters you don't know anything about me anymore." Aston said with a slight chuckle as he stepped back a pace. Aston just shook his head and reached into his pocket and took out a appropriate amount of credits and tossed them on the bar. "I'll take my drink to go."

Aston must've thought of a million things he was say or ask Kamon if he ever saw him again, however now that he was here he didn't say them. Aston walked past him and while doing so patted him on the shoulder. He wondered what he had been doing all these years, and how he was doing. But know that he had seen him and saw that he was at least to look doing well, there seemed to be nothing else to say or do.

"Good to see you Kamon, let do this again in a few more years."

[member="Kamon Vondiranach"]

"To be honest I never knew anything about you for the longest time and I still don't," he said as Aston stepped away.

Of course the boy had gone to grab more alcohol. And then he was walking out as if he didn't care, which Kamon figured he probably didn't. His relationship with his children was strained at best. It was one of his greatest regrets and something he desperately wanted to rectify. He wasn't sure how he was going to do that, but he knew that if he let Aston walk away from him he probably would never have the chance.

Before Aston got too far, Kamon reached out and grabbed the younger man by the shoulder. He only meant to stop him. Then he motioned to a now empty table in a corner of the room that seemed less beat up than the rest. The fighting was calming down and they'd have a better chance to talk there than outside.

"I know I'm no candidate for father of the year but can we at least talk?"

[member="Aston Jacobs"]

The hand that stopped Aston, he didn't take it as an aggressive move. Aston stared ahead for a moment towards the door as he contemplated the choice before him. While a younger, a much younger version of Aston wished to stay behind and speak to his father. However the other side of him was warning him against it. With that being said if there was anything Aston needed to get off of his chest it was the time to do it.

Aston glanced back towards Kamon, his father. A small sense of obligation began to arise in him as he looked into his fathers eyes for those brief moments. "Alright." Aston said, nodding his head at the table Kamon had referenced. Aston took a seat as he set the glass down and smirked. "For the record, I'm not drunk, I'm just feeling good." He lifted the glass to his lips and took a small drink and thus setting the glass back down again. His words beginning to come to him much easier.

"Where have you been?" Aston inquired easily enough.

[member="Kamon Vondiranach"]

Kamon took a seat and said nothing about the drunk comment. That was a difference of opinion, and despite Kamon knowing his son was quite inebriated, he still seemed to have his wits about him to some extent. That was better than he had expected. Still, there was a clear sense of the kid needing some sort of intervention. Not that he was going to be able to give him that until he'd built at least some small amount of trust with his son first. Interventions didn't work if the person doing it didn't have any sort of authority. While he was Aston's father, he hadn't exactly been around for all of those years that were necessary to build the father son relationship. That was his fault, and he owned that. He still wished he could change it.

"That's a complicated question," he said, thinking back.

The last time he'd seen Aston had been at his wedding to Hanna. Since then he'd been busy or dead. Suffice to say, it was a lot for him to remember even.

"Last time I saw you was at my wedding to Hanna. That was a mess. I got really mad at Ashin, but I think in her own roundabout way she was trying to show me something that I just couldn't see at the time. Hanna, you see, isn't really interested in men. Yes, she and I had a daughter, but as soon as I left to go on missions she moved on with a woman. I have since divorced her. Had I had the insight to see what Ashin was trying to tell me I probably wouldn't have married her in the first place. But, I'm not that smart, Aston, and I am not gifted in seeing the future as some Jedi are. I'm just a soldier, when it comes down to it. I fight the darkside and that's about it.

"So I went on more missions and ended up getting captured by a darkside cult. I don't know if Spencer told you about that at all, but they experimented on me, implanted some device in me that basically forced me to turn. I couldn't control it, and I did a lot of damage. One of my students found me, and I'd instructed them to kill me if I ever fell. So he did. I'm sure I never told you this but our family is descended from an ancient family known as the Hinata's. Your grandmother, my mother, was one. We can regenerate over time, coming back from death, provided we aren't killed by one of our own blood. For several more years I was dead, and when I came back I tried to find you and Spencer, but was only able to find her. I wanted to make amends. I wanted to be your father.

"Spencer doesn't care for me much and I don't expect you to, either. I wouldn't blame you. I've been a lousy father. I met your Ibaris. So much like her mother. Wish I could spend more time with her but she gets around the galaxy more than I do. And since then I was with the Jedi Order, but they, like most orders these days, fell apart. Since then I've been fighting the Sith with several underground groups while I was trying to find you."

He leaned back in his seat.

"None of that is an excuse for not being your father, though. I apologize for never being there. You don't have to forgive me. I'd understand if you didn't."

[member="Aston Jacobs"]

Well as excuses went that was pretty solid. However, a part of him knew that he could've been lying through his teeth, made the story up just before he arrived. He wasn't too sure what to think. The story did sound crazy as could be, but that was the galaxy in these times. Aston shook his head slightly. The man took a small drink before he looked towards Kamon.

"That sounds like a lot of painful stuff. And I'm truly sorry you went through that." Aston cleared his throat a bit before he moved his hands together. "I forgive you, But....." Aston didn't ever think that he would hear those words coming out of his mouth. He was going for so long, and he felt they wouldn't be able to ever salvage a sort of father son bond like other normal individuals had. " I will never forget what has happened, that you left."

"I don't think things will ever be good for us, ever." Aston chuckled lightly and then just shook his head.

[member="Kamon Vondiranach"]

"I could have done better. That you forgive me is more than I expected, to be honest," he said.

He didn't really deserve to be forgiven. Regardless of what had happened, he should have made more of an effort to be there for his kids. The one's he knew about, at least. Being a poor father was completrly on him and he knew that. Part of his struggle had been trying to be the Jedi he was while reconciling that with a family and it had never worked. He hadn't been able to really find a medium. Perhaps now that would change.

There was one more opportunity he had for changing how thinga went in his family life. He was bound and determined not to screw it up like he had with Aston and Spencer. They deserved better than what he had given them.

"I just don't want you to hate me. If you don't want to spend time with me that's fine. Just promise me that when you eventually have children you'll be a better father than me, but also that you'll let me see them."

He might have screwed up with his kids, but he could still be a grandfather to his grandkids. That would be a good start.

[member="Aston Jacobs"]

"One can be surprised." Aston said easily enough as this whole meeting was awkward down to its core, but he began to feel a sense of calm as he listened to the man that was his father.

"It's too short a life for me to hate anyone." Aston said with a chuckle as he shrugged his shoulders. "And you don't have to worry about any grandchildren at least from my end. I've tasted love before and it was great, however it didn't last." Aston said as his tone turned slightly somber as he thought about her for a few moments before he called for another glass full.

"She was, amazing. Yet the world galaxy proves that nothing good ever lasts, and she was taken from me."
