GUIDELINES
  • These contracts are primarily for Darkwire Shadowrunners and Contractors, and they will get first dibs.
  • Recommended group size is 3-5 participants per mission thread.
  • Methods used to achieve objectives are up to the writers to determine. Plot as much or as little as you like.
  • Some jobs are "unsanctioned" by Darkwire elements who don't want to go too far. You can do them anyway.
  • Any NPCs mentioned in the description, or contact, are free to be written and used in whatever way necessary in the thread.
  • If you write a complete thread to a failed ending, message the mission contact anyway, there may be an alternative reward available.
  • New missions will be posted as needed or submitted to Darkwire. To submit yours, contact a member of the Darkwire staff.
Happy punking!

  • Mission Type: Disrupt a Public Nuisance
    Location: Any
Main objective: Stop Sargon’s Few from being an obstacle
Secondary objective(s): Free the poor from their brainwashing
Description: The gang Sargon’s Few is full of religious extremist adhering to the ancient Primeval faith, and have made a habit of exploiting the poor and vulnerable of Suicide Slums on Denon for their cult activities, but they can be found anywhere. Recently, their violence has disrupted a Darkwire mission and gotten a Shadowrunner killed as a result. They aren’t a Corpo outfit, but they’re just as scummy. Honor your fellow fallen Shadowrunner and make them hurt. There isn’t much money in revenge, but we’ve got a small bundle for you to make their days a little worse for wear.
    Monetary Payout: Tier 2 (Low)
    Non-Monetary Payout: Payback, and rep.
Contact: NPC, tag Darkwire Cultist Darkwire Cultist on mission complete.

  • Mission Type: Disrupt maintenance
Location: Upcity Central Station, District 19, Denon
Main objective: Cripple the tram station's ability to handle high traffic volume
Secondary objective(s): Don't let Ven Aphax get caught sneaking you into the tunnels, by organic or digital eyes.
Description: The District 19 tram junction sees a high traffic flow between high-class visitors and low-class workers coming and going from the region each day. It's also supposed to be one of the more secure stations on the Denon tram line. Their station maintenance chief has been out sick for a couple days, and Ven Aphax thinks he can get a few people into the maintenance tunnels unnoticed. Hacking into the control systems, or doing damage to some of the station's power relays will cripple the station for a few days while it gets fixed. And even though wealthier riders won't be as affected, the residents of District 19 who rely on their lower-class commuting workers will be critically understaffed.
    Monetary Payout: Tier 3 (Average)
Non-Monetary Payout: An annual pass for free transport on the trams, plus a few days of very satisfying news broadcasts.
Contact: NPC, Zechs Mariell (Zabrak, 32M, friend of Darkwire and Ven Aphax), contact Darkwire Prophet Darkwire Prophet when finished.

    Mission Type: Unsanctioned (Theft)
    Location: Denon
Main objective: Acquire a CorpSec patrol or tactical speeder...
    Secondary objective(s): ...undamaged.
Description: Stealing and keeping a CorpSec vehicle is no easy feat. If you can make the grab and hold onto it until the search dies down, we'll take it from there. Stress testing the latest CorpSec sensor and comms gear could be hugely valuable.
    Monetary Payout: Tier 3 (Average)
Non-Monetary Payout: You get to keep the vehicle once we've got what we need out of it.
Contact: Muk Moadda will handle the pickup once you've finished the job.

  • Mission Type: Unsanctioned (Theft)
Location: The University, Skytown (upper middle class), The Wall
Main objective: Steal an advanced rapid prototyping machine from the faculty of engineering sector.
Secondary objective(s): Erase any security footage. Clearly the machine's disappearance is another rich-kid prank. Plant fingerprints that our associate at Spun Candy lifted from Djule Walex, son of Djarre Walex - a back-bench member of the Direx Board.
Description: This machine can print anything from guns to top-notch cerebrospinal implants. It also weighs as much as a speeder bike and is bolted to the floor of a teaching lab.
    Monetary Payout: Tier 4 (High)
Non-Monetary Payout: The good wishes of basically every dancer at Spun Candy (conditional on achieving secondary objectives). This frame job might be the final straw that gets Djule Walex expelled and called home to the Pinnacles in disgrace.
Contact: NPC, Ruvy Deluzhe (Zeltron cyborg, NPC, 42F and not interested), a local black marketeer and former sex worker. Could be fronting for Darkwire on this, but the job is unsanctioned. Contact Darkwire Prophet Darkwire Prophet when job is complete.

    Mission Type: Steal Data
    Location: Belazura
Main Objective: Obtain the plans for the next world Manfloon intends to take
Secondary Objective(s): Find the missing contact
Description: Diviak Manfloon's Corporate Mining Union has begun widespread exploitation of Belazura, and is quickly ramping up to full scale on Sarko VI. The Mining Union rarely stays idle, and its current goals seem to be obtaining more Ionite to sell to its clients. One of its employees, Niuk Azalee, has made contact through an intermediary and is willing to sell some of the CMU's plans in exchange for an untraceable ride off of Belazura. But when the Shadowrunners arrive at the pre-arranged meeting place, he has disappeared. Find him, or the data he took, and complete the deal.
    Monetary Payout: Tier 4 (High)
    Non-monetary Payout: Darkwire goals advanced
Contact: NPC, Klyn Sams (Human, 47M, Niuk's intermediary and very concerned for his wellbeing), contact Darkwire Prophet Darkwire Prophet when finished

    Mission Type: Steal Data II
    Location: Denon
Main Objective: Obtain a datachip of information.
Secondary Objective: Leave the the datachip sealed.
    Description:
    <\ Alright crew,
<\ I have had a contact of mine get in touch.
<\ He wants a datachip lifted off of one of
<\ his competitors and asks for extreme discretion.

<\ Bonus for a bloodless job, but expect resistance.
<\ This is my reputation on the line. If you breach
    <\ the chip's integrity, then I've lost a profitable
    <\ client.

<\ The less blood you spill, the more worthwhile
<\ it is. No details on what you steal. Either agree
<\ or find a new job.
    Monetary Payout: Tier 4 (High)
Non-Monetary Payout: My eternal gratitude, good for one favor.
Contact: PC, Effigy (IC alias of Amea Virou Amea Virou )

  • Mission Type: Food and Supply
    Location: Bovo Yagen
Main objective: Destroy the defensive capabilities of the coastal farms
Secondary objective(s): Seize the farms themselves with the weapons and power banks intact
Description: It was expected that the Corpos would build big on Bovo Yagen, but few expected them to dig in like this. Soon after a new casino was erected, and other Corporate investments followed, local farmers found their fisheries and wetland fields bought out by corporate interests. And very soon after that, those farms began playing host to desalination tanks, power banks, and weapon emplacements. These are very heavy defenses for a jungle/ocean world, and whatever they're supposed to be defending for the Corpos deserves to be vulnerable. This won't be an easy win, but it will be a big step forward for Darkwire if you do.
Monetary Payout: Tier 5 (Very High), Tier 6 (Extreme) if secondary objectives are achieved
Non-Monetary Payout: All the fish you can eat, anytime you visit (contact the fisheries directly for delivery arrangements)
Contact: Darkwire Prophet Darkwire Prophet (Sola Ember) will be your direct contact

  • Mission Type: Black Market Heist
Location: Any planet in CAD/Darkwire space
Main objective: Steal the waveguides contraband and bring it to your fence
Secondary objective(s): Avoid killing CorpSec officers in the process
Description: Marlene Starlight's new initiatives for CorpSec has resulted in a new crackdown on Maser waveguides, components that are extremely critical to the functionality of the weapons but can also burn out quickly and need replacement. CorpSec has dutifully confiscated waveguides from sellers across various worlds, without due compensation, and are being held as contraband until they can be shipped offworld for destruction. Some may be kept at spaceports, but those are heavily guarded. It may be easier to intercept the waveguides elsewhere, or in transport, when the stakes aren't quite so high. Find enough to satisfy Chon Artis, who will pay more for them the more you get for him.
Monetary Payout: Variable, up to Tier 4 (High)
Non-Monetary Payout: Various replacement parts for maser weaponry
Contact: NPC, Chon Artis (Ranat, 26M, Weapons dealer and fence), contact Darkwire Prophet Darkwire Prophet when finished

Mission Type: Divert funds from banking
    Location: Quarzite
Main objective: Intercept a banking transaction taking place between Qanatain’s First Bank of Denon and the Eternal Empire's Investment Bank of Vexillium
Secondary objective(s): Pocket the money if you like
Description: Ever get tired of robbing banks and having to hide from CorpSec? Well every Shadowrunners “best friend” Lance of Dreams has revolutionary technology to make it possible to rob a bank at any time, anywhere in the galaxy, and not get caught even if you fail. Just step in this pod and you’ll be a droid thousands of lightyears away to rob some bank of their funds. Sounds fun, eh? Just make your way to iBorg’s Lab in the merchant sector of Quarzite, and the Mad Scientist will hook you up… literally.
Monetary Payout: Variable, but can get as high as Tier 6 (Extreme)
    Non-Monetary Payout: Sweet sweet satisfaction
Contact: Lance of Dreams Lance of Dreams will hook you up with the tech you need

Stealing speeders and driving them fast? Hell, that is my middle name. Would love to get a team going for Tier 3 Unsanctioned (Theft).

This one caught my attention since one of my favorite film genres is the big heist. Wanted to toss out some discussion:

- You may consider an "operator" type of character helping out the driver with traffic control in Denon's heavy urban setting. Changing lights, redirecting traffic and emergency response, relaying shortcuts and giving you an emergency exit when they're closing in on you.

- The speeder itself? Military or Civilian? I like the idea of a corporate speeder convention and then running off with the centerpiece of the exhibition

- The first part of the mission, casing the joint and coming up with the plan can be a fun scenario as well as the heist itself. One of my favorite parts of the heist genre is when there's a voice-over describing step by step what needs to happen as there's footage of the team/crew laying the foundation of the plan and also describing the obstacles/hurdles that need to be overcome.

-During this part of the mission, I'd love to play the "bombshell" who uses her feminine charms and acts all sneaky when nobody is looking.

I'm a little interested in disrupting maintenance as well. For this type of mission I'd be well suited, rerouting trains and screwing up the timetables. Remotely hijacking an empty train under maintenance and cause it to de-rail. Turning the maintenance droids into destructive salvage bots and they start tearing up sections of track.

Saboteurs and explosives experts would also be most welcome, the mission description does mention infiltrating the tunnels.

This seems like a pretty straightforward scenario, but could be a springboard for exploring the moral implications of...let's say that there were some civilians accidentally killed. Just another angle to explore for those who want to take their writings in that direction.

I'm going to make a thread, but would it be better in the Private or Open area? I think you can mark it Faction, but I wouldn't mind anyone who wasn't Darkwire if they can bring something to the party. Our team gets first dibs of course. And for this mission, I'd like to be in the operator's chair, though I don't want to lead per se, since I'm new to the gang and they'd likely have somebody higher rank riding shotgun in the control room or maybe even taking point in the field with the infiltration team.

Totally open for suggestions, comments, input and of course volunteers.

I just got a crazy idea to do a Star Wars version of this scene. But instead of the murder part, it could be an espionage/sabotage since the Lore page on Sargon's Few mentions a strong presence in the Volgho Hollows warehouse district. I can literally reroute the parade to wherever we need them to go.

Another role could be a false flag operation where we rile up the cult and the corpos to turn against each other.

I'm already thinking of sending out negative propaganda to bring some of their rivals to the party, just to make things more interesting.
