Public Character of the Month - June 2025 Edition - Nominations

Hey folks,

June has been racing by, I can't believe how quickly we are moving through the year. I have been noticing some really fun stories and character interactions. I also have been loving some of my own stories as well as I slowly been jumping back into writing. So keen to see what I've missed, who gets nominated and what people have been excited to share! Hopefully everyone else has had a great June and had some great stories going!

Here are the rules, please keep them in mind when doing your nominations! Thanks everyone!

Rules are as following:

  • Nominate a character that is not of your writing that has impressed you in the last month.
  • Give the reasons why.
    • Please include thread links for others to see why you love the character so much.
  • You may nominate someone that has already been nominated, they will be listed once in the voting stage and the reasons combined into one.
  • This is for In Character stuff.
  • During the nomination step, you must ask the winner a question for your nomination to count. Yes, that means in this thread, along with the nomination also put a question for the eventual winner, ya scamp.
  • During the voting, please limit yourselves to one vote.
  • Character must have been active in the last month to qualify, would be great if you would keep it to the last months exploits too.
  • Characters can only win once.
  • Please do not nominate Staff.
  • One week to nominate. Approximately.

* Character may not reign as Character of the Month for an exact month. You will live.

Once again, I'm looking forward to all the nominations and seeing what awesome threads and interactions everyone has been getting up to this month!

Let's see who joins our previous winners of Lodd Grimmin Lodd Grimmin | Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen | Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr | Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania | Jenn Kryze Jenn Kryze | Darth Caedes Darth Caedes | Roman Vossari Roman Vossari | Naamino Zuukamano Naamino Zuukamano | Micah tol Powl Micah tol Powl | Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik | Lorn Reingard Lorn Reingard | Azurine Varek Azurine Varek and last month's winner Kaila Irons Kaila Irons !!!

Sibylla Abrantes Sibylla Abrantes

I've only begun my recent sentence on Chaos, so I've not had the chance to deep dive into too many stories, but I've been reading a lot of articles coming out and I've enjoyed Sibylla's content centered around the vote for High Chancellor in the High Republic, as well as her most recent announcement proclaiming her intention to run for Queen of Naboo.

I'm reminded of Padmé Amidala in some ways, while seeing fresh and unique characterization brought about by the character's youthful tendencies.

My b, I forgot the question like a rat:

Question: Who does your character want to win the first ever Galactic Kaggath?

EDIT: Rules are rules, but I'll keep the nice things I said up here cause I'm like that.

—Revna Marr

I would love to nominate Revna Marr Revna Marr for this month's CotM!

One of my absolute favorite writers ever, and so much fun to plot and tell story with!
I encountered the character Revna Marr by total, random chance. For awhile now, I've characterized Darth Caedes as an aloof and quietly observant member of the Sith's Imperial Assembly. He's often watching from the shadows, studying his peers in the Order and taking notes. Most of the time, that implies a very solitary and reclusive role in larger social threads—but, low and behold, that's exactly where he found young Revna Marr. At a Sith Kaggath, he discovered her, Apprentice to Darth Strosius, yet a member of the audience which watched him die in a public duel to the death.

Since then, Revna has been swept up into chaos—tied by strings and interests spanning the entirety of the Sith Order. A member of the fringe Wonosa (a sub faction within the greater Sith Order), she's been taken hostage by the Kainites (another, disproportionately more predominant sub faction), and has had to learn to deal with her circumstances through cunning and resolve, action and political drama. Her writing is deep and emotional, confronting themes like trauma and mental health, resilience, ambition, and a really interesting (perhaps even sometimes heretical) conflict with the tenants of the Dark Side. She's had to teach herself and learn to accept loss. She's taken on apprentices and bolstered the efforts of Korriban's prestigious Sith Academy, beginning to embody what it means to lead rather than to follow. She's unmistakably connected by circumstance to influential Lords, such as Darth Carnifex and Darth Prazutis, a more through her familial ties to House Marr, a historically prestigious within the Sith's storied past. She's tied in with so many writers across the forum—wars are being waged for her, entire fleets of naval starships darken the skies of remote worlds in search for Revna.

Meanwhile, despite a galactic stirring in her name, and despite the slew of Sith loyalists who pledge to burn all obstacles in their path on the way to liberate her, Revna Marr is doing quite well. She's ingratiated herself with her Sith rivals and captors, and ingrained herself as a respected member in the courts of Korriban... also watching, studying her peers, asking only the right questions, and even stealing the King's heart for her own. Fascinating journey through the oppression of the Dark Side, though one where the protagonist seems always to come out on top...!

Question: of all the possible choices, which is the conversation you'd least like to have with your character 'round the dinner table?

Seconding Revna Marr Revna Marr

I can't add more then what Caedes has, all of it is very true, but I will do my best. I am biased to a very large degree, the character is my character's cousin, so of course I do believe she is the best...

...However, I do have reasons on why I think she's the best, though we personally have not had the greatest opportunity to write together, one whom is not even a casual reader would have difficulty in not being intrigued by the storylines that Revna has found herself apart of, and in many regards woven together as if a tapestry that is a testament to a very wonderful exploration of the darkside.

An apprentice to one of the most divisive figures in the current Sith Order, a grand apprentice to the greatest assassin the galaxy has ever seen, she has never been one content to exist within the shadows that such figures loom, and instead has spread her wings wide to all berths, curiosity taking her to the homes of her enemies if only to discover what power she can grasp to accomplish her goals.

And they are distinctly her goals, never compromising, never surrendering, for she is a character with the wherewithall to be as brimming with ambition as she is with sense, and anyone would be honoured to write with her.

She is either winning this COTM or the next one, I refuse any other outcomes. :p

Question: What gift does your character want Malum to get them?

Kyric Kyric

I too adore Danger Arceneau Danger Arceneau and all her characters especially Sibylla Abrantes Sibylla Abrantes and 100% deserves the CoTM for everything she's done for the site. Unfortunately, as per the rules of the CoTM she cannot be nominated since she's an RPJ (i hate this rule too >.< )

Didn't even realize she was staff, low-key.

I'll eat that L, but I'll raise a simple point of:

Delete that ruling. Staff can still have good characters that are worth celebrating.

Edit: Further point, this feels like an unnecessary barrier. If staff start to win out in every one of these, I would say roll it back. But people vote for characters they write with regularly. Its already biased to begin with.

Second Edit: Thank you for pointing this out.
