Darben finished off his drink by the time [member="Lady Kay"]'s speech finished. He clapped to it. He didn't care if no one else did, he still did so. Now that his drink was finished, he decided to try and find people to talk to. Get to know some of Commenor's friends. The first he thought about approaching was a Twi'Lek ([member="Stardust Raxis"]). He had an idea that perhaps she could help him with Mute, as he knew nothing about Twi'Lek's.

Darben waved Mute over to him, and waited till she was right beside him before approaching the seated Twi'Lek. "Excuse me. Darben Skirae." He stretched out a hand to shake in greeting. "And this is my companion, Mute." Mute did a little wave, not as shy as normal.

She was listening to [member="Lady Kay"]'s speech and clapped when she finished, she didn't know own that many here..mainly her family and friends it all

However a man walked up to her, she stood politely and shook his hand" queen stardust raxis of imahalyan a pleasure" she said and bowed to mute" pleasire to meet you what can I do for you two?

An intermission soon started. The screens once again lowered, but only part way. Pictures were projected on them as music played from the speakers. It was tranquil with an uplifting beat.

Kay looked out to the crowds again. She smiled, perhaps a little nervously as the amount of Stormtroopers and other guards were now visible. As the people began to mingle, many seemed to steer clear from such armed soldiers.

She had been growing a little restless too. Kay was the People's President, afterall, and here she was up in her little booth while everyone else was going wherever they wished. It wasn't as though she craved the attention, but there were plenty of people that she had to speak with in person. So Kay got to her feet and exited the booth, ever mindful that she had plenty of guards watching her every move. But she had to ignore most of them so that people would be less aware of who they were. As she walked, she shrunk her Force signature down to that of a small tree nut, just in case.

Her first stop was to [member="Darth Erebos"] and his assistant. "So glad that you could make it back to Commenor. How are you doing, my friend?"

Slightly late,

She had never been this late, she told erebos that she was getting ready and to go on her, she was just finishing redecorating her horns and lekku, in which after she found a nice flowing dress that was a pearl white color, small v neck cut out, and a very that went down to her upper back slightly showing the two scars off

Now she has half running half walking looking for t'zaniths force signature, after locating it she slowed up behind him, tapped the sephi on the shoulder and whispered before the sephi left and saki moved beside hik as she bowed" madam president honor to meet you in hope I'm not to late for the party?

Looking around as for a moment he closed off his force sight and took in the scents and sounds of the people around him, the scent of the drinks intermingling with the perfumes of the women in a cacophony of scents blended together with the murmur of the crowd as they spoke to one another in the myriad of languages that the galaxy held. 'Were is she?' He thought as he then suddenly felt the scent of sapir leaves and smiled a little as he turned to the source and opened his eyes in the force to see [member="Lady Kay"] approaching. "I'm quite good, missed part of your speech but I'm sure it was as good in its entirety as the part I caught." He said with a slight smile as he felt the familiar aura of [member="Saki lin"] and gave her a small expression of his power by flaring up his force signature from the normal small signature just barely spread out along his form.

As Saki came up to him and dismissed the sephi assistant he nodded to her which made her bow her head slightly and left. Leaning in to whisper into Saki's ear. "Tu'iyia zûtadtoi" He spoke in the ancient sith language, hoping his lessons on the language might have stuck. "Lady Kay might I introduce my lover, Saki Lin." He then said as he gestured from Saki and then to Kay.

Kay laughed a little. "Oh I'm sure that some people probably thought it to be boring and long winded. But I make them up on the spot, so that could be why." She always just went with her gut instinct for her speeches and how she was feeling at the time.

And then her attention was drawn from [member="Darth Erebos"] to [member="Saki lin"] as she approached. Kay bowed her head in greeting, raising an eyebrow slightly as Erebos introduced Saki as his lover. Was she jealous? No. She had no reason to be. Pretty much everyone that she knew had at least one lover. For them monogamy could be the name of a piece of wood, rather than a way of life. Kay was different. She hadn't been with anyone since her husband had died 12 years ago. Some had tried, but they cared not for her and only wanted a night in the sack, while she wanted a life partner to keep all to herself. Some called her selfish for that.

"Lovely to meet you. And you haven't missed much. Just some performances. All will be on the holonews at some point, I'm sure." Kay gestured to [member="Veiere Arenais"] , who was no doubt behind her. There were many keeping a watchful eye on her. "This is Veiere Arenais, my personal bodyguard and advisor." Of course she felt that he was more than that, wanting him to be more than that, but both Kay and Veiere were in denial about it. Or rather neither have confronted eachother about how they felt. Fear of rejection was probably a big part of that.

She whispered back to [member="Darth Erebos"] " sorry had to look hood" she said as she gave a smile as she looked to [member="Lady Kay"] as she was introduced and bowed "as he said I am saki Lin his lover, it is a honor to be here at this festival and I'm glad I haven't missed much I'd hate to miss such a good party

She said and bowed to [member="Veiere Arenais"] " pleasure to meet you as well" she said with a friendly smile as she put a hand on t'zanith's shoulder just so it looked like she was gonna guide him but knew fully well, that he could see...through the force at least"

To [member="Darth Erebos"] and [member="Saki lin"], Veiere offered a smile and a casual bow of his head in greeting; remaining at [member="Lady Kay"]'s side much of the time he found they were quickly being met with many various individuals and rather than focusing too much on the conversation, he let Kay handle much of that where his focus moved to their immediate area, his senses reaching out within the flow of the living force to keep his instincts on point and his mind free of much of the distraction going on over the event. No doubt many of these people were likely armed in some manner just as he and the rest of the Lady Presidents personal security team were. Given the strength in the Force and how easy it was to shape to his will, it was clear that there were more than just their people, trained in its use among the crowd. Looking about the room, his eyes caught sight of [member="Samka Derith"] a moment and confirmed to himself that the First Order had finally arrived. The young Knight of Ren had left Veiere somewhat intrigued, wishing to know more of their order as no doubt so did the rest of the Galaxy; and yet his were personal reasons to admit. It was selfish yet Veiere felt her path had been silently questioned the day that she had come to meet with Kay Larr.

The ear piece echoed with the background chatter of the other personnel going about their duty. Somewhere among the rest of their guests were [member="Kei Garnik"], [member="John Shepherd"] and [member="Ryn'Dhal"]; ensuring that all was right as far as Kay's present safety were concerned. Should anything come to give them grief then it would be they who would jump to her immediate defense while the rest of the local enforcement officers would secure things for the public.

"We hope you're all enjoying yourselves..." Veiere spoke with a warm smile despite his focus being elsewhere at the time, he did his best to be welcoming and humble of those who had come to support both Kay and the people of Commenor. Admittedly, since his Exile he had not been in such a public light for a matter of years and while on the outside he may have looked calm, there were certainly a lot of people to consider and watch over, moving with Kay as she sought to greet and tend to everyone.

As soon as he heard 'queen', he bowed and gestured for Mute to make a quick bow. [member="Lady Kay"] really did know some interesting characters, so high up in chain of command or government. "I was just wondering if by any chance you could spare me some of your time. It doesn't have to be here, but you see, I barely know anything about my friend here" he said, gesturing to Mute. He really wanted to know more about her, since they were technically now roommates. he wasn't even sure how that happened, let alone why she stayed. "I was wondering if you could help me sometime?"

He paused momentarily as something happened with the screens. He settled back into the conversation as only music and some images came across. "So could you?" He asked once more to [member="Stardust Raxis"].

She gave a chuckle as he bowed and let him, she was used to bowing from a life of switching orders around and being a force user all her life"I have plenty of time my friend in fact is this not the best place? I am happy to provide some help in getting more info on your friend " she said and bowed

So I can" she said and smiled

Sareen slowly walked through the tent where the current theater performance was being held. The congregation of those stretching their stiff limbs throughout the intermission gave him the cover to move without suspicion. Dressed elegantly as a dignitary, covered in a cloak, he somewhat blended in with the crowd attending this show. Although he had come without blade or firearm he had still the Scorekeeper's gift to all Trandoshan's, his above average strength, sharp clawed hands, and ferocious spirit. Although slightly dampened by his seniority in age, amongst his species, these abilities nonetheless gave him an advantage upon most enemies. But today he was not to use them on a great enemy of large vitality and tenacity, but his long adversary, [member="Lady Kay"]. Too many times had the senator now president escape his grasp. How many occasions must he be humiliated as a warrior, to be out done by a simple human woman, why would the Scorekeeper inflict such dishonor upon him and his name.

Now he shadowed Kay, many meters away. Any closer a guard or one of her many able friends would figure his motives. His breathing increased, his moment of glory near. But he could not do it here, not now. If he did it while all those present were standing, undistracted by the entertainment in front of them, his success rate would fall left of the zero mark. No, he would wait until the show began, mingle around like one of these distinguished guests. If he was recognized, even by any member of his own Hutt Cartel, his entire operation would be foiled. Sareen couldn't wait a day more, his revenge was to ripe to be pushed deep down where it could not be heard. Today the president must die.

He grinned, taking James' hand lightly as he slapped him on the back, friendly. He'd never tried [member="Stardust Raxis"]'s cooking, he'd stormed out long before her food had finished cooking. He took two glasses of Correllian Scotch from a passing waitor, offering one to James as he sipped his own. Correllia did alchohol so well, it was a talent of the Correllians, to drink, and as such their planet needed to be good at producing the best drinks in the galaxy, Correllian Ale and Scotch were totally some of the best. He grinned again, eyes scanning over James while he planned his answer in his head.

"Life could be worse. Life could be so much worse, I could be dead"

He smiled softly.

"But i'm not dead and I have a job that pay's bloody brilliant, so yeah, life is smooth. You?"

[member="James Justice"]

James took the offered beverage with a thanks. Correllians were good at brewing, but--well their beverages were too light usually for this man with two livers. But in an event like this, he wasn't intent on getting drunk too soon. He nodded to one of his many guards scattered through the crowd. The man nodded back, going to trail the President casually.

James turned back to Kei, raising his glass, "Here's to the good life, the women that make it good, and the booze that makes us forget it ain't near as good as we want it."

He downed the drink in a few gulps before grabbing another as they walked along slowly, "Glad to hear ye life is going better than could be. Me? Eh, I cain't complain too much. Me daughters are safe, me planet is whole and well, and me people have bellies full," he waved to [member="Lady Kay"] [member="Ryn'Dhal"] and [member="Stardust Raxis"] , "Me brother and sisters be safe at night, what more can I want from life?"

He smiled, hiding his pain behind it. What more could I want? The Prosecutor dead, me wife back, to find me dad, to have me mum not leave me as a child.... But now was not the time or place for airing out dark pains. It was time to celebrate.

"As I understand it, ye are takin' the Jedi way now?" the spacer asked, looking to stir up more conversation. "Or are me minions starting to loose their touch with the outside galaxy?"

[member="Kei Garnik"]

He grinned. He forgot that James had eyes literally everywhere in the galaxy, Kei doubted you'd even be able to use a 'fresher without him knowing. He sipped his drink again, Correllian Ale was nearly perfect, Correllian Whiskey was perfect. He followed James slowly, hands in his pockets as they talked.

"Jedi"

He airquoted with his fingers. He wasn't a traditionalist, he hated traditionalist views of the Jedi so he didn't follow them. He followed his own path, carved his own name but he didn't follow the origional Jedi, that was just effort. Jedi focused too much on peace, and while peace was a good thing it wasn't like the first thing to focus on during negotiations. The first thing to focus on was how much you were getting paid.

"Jedi is a loose term, I prefer freedom fighter"

He smiled, grabbing a fresh drink from another passing waitor.

[member="James Justice"]

The intermission came too soon for the young Knight of Ren. She still enjoyed the music from the speakers but there was a more artful and enchanting affect from a live performance. Samka understood the need to mingle and take a break from performance but she did hope it wouldn't be too.

Pausing, Sam's face fell ever so slightly from a subtle smile to a frowned brow. She could sense... something. Her eyes scanned the crowd but so far nothing seemed amiss. People were still laughing and chatting, [member="Lady Kay"] amongst them. It was most curious how the President herself socialised with such a large gathering with no security in sight. She knew [member="Veiere Arenais"] would be somewhere around, the Jedi took his job with the utmost importance in addition to his personal friendship to the President plus he couldn't be alone. Still, Sam spared a glance at her escort of no less than five Stormtroopers and couldn't help but feel somehow she was better protected than Kay.

Turning back to the squad leader, Sam asked something much more up the soldier's alley than the performing arts of Commenor. "Trooper, have you seen much security present since we entered?"

The Stormtrooper nodded, "a little ma'am. A few of the 'guests' look too alert to be anything less than out-of-uniform security and I've seen someone wearing an earpiece. Back home, they'd keep armoured guards at every door but some cultures prefer to have their security blend in for some reason. Says it makes people relaxed."

Sam glanced around at the crowd again then back to the Stormtroopers. It was true that her armed escort, glad with combat armour and military grade blaster rifles stood out among the theatre goers. She'd rather not have had them with her at all but you didn't do well in the Knights of Ren by disobeying instructions.

"Then let us hope it's sufficient," she replied to the trooper. "Stay alert, I fear not everyone here is as honest as they seem." Sam turned back to the general crowd, scanning each and every individual that passed nearby for malicious intent. This event was crucial to the First Order's regional diplomatic outreach programme and as such, the Knight of Ren would not let it fail.

The underdogs of the University soon came onto the stage. They were a band of misfits that tended to be picked on. Yet they were smart and creative in their own way. And boy, could they put on a great little set!

Kay watched them and spotted [member="Samka Derith"] , quite surprised to see her in uniform. But with the soldiers around her and no other First Order representative in sight, she needed to look the part. And that she did. Intimidation and strength seemed to emanate from her.

As she brought her gaze back to her current conversation companions, they passed by a Trandoshan dignitary. Kay could have sworn that he looked almost like [member="Sareen Zar"] , but this one dressed better. Hmmm. Maybe the Trandoshans sought an Embassy as well. Or he could be hunting one of the guests.

She took a half step back so that she was in earshot of [member="Veiere Arenais"] and spoke ever so quietly to him, cupping her hand over her mouth to block anyone from reading her lips, "Tell the others to keep an eye on the Trandoshan. He could be on a hunt." Kay lowered her hand and smiled as she turned her attention back to [member="Darth Erebos"] and [member="Saki lin"] . "This is but the first of a three day Celebration. I hope that everyone can get some good networking done while they are here. How are things coming along with the Shawken Embassy?"

Outside, another band from Munto Valley began playing their set and drawing a crowd.

Darben Skirae breathed out a sigh of relief. "Thank you, it means a lot" he returned to [member="Stardust Raxis"]. "You need anything in return, just ask. As long as it has to do with trade. If you wish to come into contact, here's my card." He handed out a card to her and then gave a two-finger salute. "Best be off, now. Other people to mingle with, and all."

He turned away from Stardust, Mute following suite, but not before waving a lot. She must not have seen another Twi'Lek in a long time. He really wished she would just tell him things, or rather sign them with sign language.

He started looking around, seeing if [member="Lady Kay"] was around. Darben felt like talking some business. Perhaps there were some other representatives around she could introduce him to, ones interested in trade. He had to make use of this night as best as possible.

Veiere too had felt something, distant and elusive but none the less there in the back of his consciousness, a feeling or instinct provoked by the call of the Force to shift his nerve and alert him to something potentially dangerous within their vicinity. [member="Lady Kay"] stepped back into him somewhat and turning her attention to he himself, she spoke quietly of the nearby Trandoshan, already suspicious of his intent. The Exile hadn't noticed the other until now and little to his surprise, his gaze lingered on the life-form with a reluctant pause and that same sense of unease growing ever still. Raising a hand to his earpiece, he glanced down as if to be scratching the side of his head and yet toggled the communications channel broad to the other members of the private security team; "Possible Suspect, several feet from our mark. Trandoshan, well dressed...", he didn't need to ask any favors nor give any sort of request or order, the others knew their jobs and Veiere's focus returned to Kay, glancing back to her with something of a concerned yet subtle frown of his brow. "Perhaps it's time we greet the other guests..." He suggested quietly to her, soon glancing ahead a fair distance between them and the Trandoshan. It wouldn't be hard for her to understand exactly what Veiere was suggesting, space and time to determine the lizards intent. If it were to follow and to act out then indeed they had something to be concerned about.

[member="Samka Derith"] | [member="Kei Garnik"] | [member="Sareen Zar"] | [member="Ryn'Dhal"]

He could see that [member="Veiere Arenais"] was a warrior with the way he carried himself, even a little of how protective he was over [member="Lady Kay"] like he wasn't just protecting her out of duty but rather a little affection. He smiled when Kay mentioned the embassy. "It's coming along quite splendidly. The crews have been working on it for the past while now and say that they might come through ahead of schedule even. I must thank you again for that wonderful housing you provided." He said with a polite but genuine smile to Kay.

His hand moved from [member="Saki lin"]'s hand and moved a little to gently hold around the back of her waist as he turned his head to whisper into Saki's ear. "A kiha tuti ati ant, tuti ant zizni." He had felt in and seen it in the slight hints in both Veiere's and kay's body language and the way she had pulled back and covered her mouth and then the way Veiere's body went almost rigid in hidden anticipation. While he did enjoy the almost relaxing parties and gatherings, when compared to some sith gatherings at least, he had always made sure to stay on his guard though he kept it hidden to most.

Kay gave a brief nod to [member="Veiere Arenais"] . She knew what he meant. Of course she didn't want to leave [member="Darth Erebos"] and [member="Saki lin"] right away, but it wasn't as though she didn't have a good reason. "You are most welcome. Please let me know when it is finished. I would love to see what you've done with the place. Now if you'll excuse me, I must see to one of my Ministers." She smiled and bowed her head, before weaving through the crowds and walking over to [member="Darben Skirae"] . She had seen him looking her way just moments ago. And there was Mute, right by his side. Kay smiled to her. "Hello Minister Skirae, Mute. How are you two doing?"
