Holding the creature’s neck up and away from his throat the others attempted to get at the spacer. Claws dug deep into Jedi’s flesh drawing blood to the surface. The radiating burns of freshly made wounds stung and with each passing moment Lanik’s grip on the creature weakened. The only thing keeping him safe from the rest of the drones was him maneuvering the one in his grasp to intercept bites and strikes.

Staring up into the maw that would be his end Lanik simply thought. “So this is what I get? My reward?” He’d turned his back on the Jedi to avoid going on battlefields once more. To avoid taking lives or having to see them stolen. The irony of the situation wasn’t lost on him, if he wasn’t busy holding off the drones Lanik probably would’ve laughed.

Prepared to resign himself to the fate that sought him, his grip loosening he heard a voice within his head. The word Catch came through clear. Lanik’s arm let go of the creature’s neck as an azure blade sliced through it. Hands reaching up and seizing the saber Lanik moved with it.

From his prone position on the ground, Lanik’s left hand pressed down on the solid pavement. Bringing his right leg over his body, and tucking his left in Lanik did what many knew as a windmill kick. The momentum built up from the spin, and the saber held out sliced through the knees and legs of the surrounding creatures. Shifting his weight onto his left shoulder and bending his body Lanik shot up to his feet. Left-arm extending for the shield to slide home.

Casting a glance to the rose-gold saber in his hand the one-time Jedi smiled at it fondly, as one would an old friend. While not a saber of Lanik’s own creation he could feel it. The kyber crystal at its core that thrummed with power, with the force, it reached out to the warrior calling him back to what he’d once been. A defender of the people. It had been too long since Lanik had wielded one of the famed weapons. The lethal hum of its blade an orchestra, the smooth metal hilt fitting perfectly within his palm, the sense of calm it offered unforgettable.

For the first time in years Lanik felt the force in full, it was like a dam had broken open. The restorative, cool energy surged into his very being. It was breathtaking, it was as though he’d been living in a haze. The film removed from his senses, the mystical force feeling almost as if it was too much for a body to contain.

Lanik’s movements were no longer his own, but the force moving him. Each strike, deflection, and parry were done on instinct. It was more of a dance than combat. Lanik moved through the drones one by one, two by two, sometimes even by the threes making his way to Weyland to press his back to the other Jedi’s. No words were spoken, just a prod through the force of confirmation.

The Primarch extended a hand to the doors lock, releasing a small tendril of ionic energy to disrupt the door controls - forcing the door to open finally. The men inside were not soldiers, not warriors of any kind. They were engineers, civilians and Artillery Pilots. The Primarch extended his will, using the force to put a majority of the armed creatures into a stasis. All but the two Anti-Air Gun Pilots were frozen in place, the first to reach for his gun was frozen as well; but not via the same practice. His muscles tensed, holding him still as the Shaman slipped into his mind, taking control.

What that man was, everything that his identity was comprised of was locked away; deep inside. He could only watch, entirely consumed by the Primarch's will that came over him like a great ocean. His lungs were full, choking and gagging and sinking deeper into that black ocean. Drek'ma forced the Pilot to take his pistol from his holster and kill his co-Pilot.

Then, Drek'ma returned the Pilot to his control station - forcing him to turn the AA Gun on the other turrets; in moments their defences were cut in half. The massive artillery rounds intended to cut through Capital Ships instead make craters out of the others. The Humans were lucky enough to turn one of their remaining two AA Guns on the Gun under his control; but the Primarch could feel the churn of their metal; teleporting out of the AA Gun's facility. Those within his grasp finally gasped for air, but before they could call to their comrades - those very same people opened fire on the AA Gun, destroying it and obliterating all inside.

Arriving beyond the vicinity of the new crater, Primarch let out a breath - feeling somewhat strained by the combat. Nonetheless, it needed doing. Now clear of the AA Turrets bar two, Primarch Drek'ma was able to receive the second transmission from the Drone Commander.

Jedi.

Drek'ma spoke into his Com-Unit; "I will join you shortly, Commander. Anti Air support will be available when the remaining AA Guns are destroyed."

The Zealot spun over the back of the Soldier, whipping around with his dagger and thrusting forward. The man's eyes widened as the thick blade ripped through his collarbone and momentarily suspended him in the air. The Zealot snarled, throwing the man aside and off the railing. He'd been separated from the Primarch, and when the AA Turret exploded, Gredak had no idea whether the Shaman had survived. If he had, the Zealot would find him. It was his duty, his responsibility to see to the protection of the Shaman Primarch.

Gredak raised his gauntlet, speaking into the Com-Stone attached to his wrist;
"Primarch Drek'ma, can you hear me? This is Zealot Tenebris." There was no response. Not even static, which he for some reason expected. The small, scurrying Zealot snarled and bound across the building rooftops, looking within the vicinity of the destruction. With a twitching swing of his head, the Zealot noticed a group of Civilians running from the ruins and rubble - licking his lips, the pale tongue of the Zealot lathered his teeth as he sheathed his daggers, taking his Spike Rifle and fired singular shots. The first was a child, half-flipped and landing on her shoulder as the Spike shot right through him.

The second, a woman turned; screaming. The second shot caused her head to explode, parts of skull and brain matter splattering all over the corpses. The third turned, firing with a blaster pistol at the Zealot. At this distance, he had all of the advantages, with a snarl he rushed his aim; firing several shots. Only three of which hit, one grazed the man and burnt his flesh. The other two cut into his lower torso and left leg, causing him to collapse over. The performance caused the Zealot to scoff, placing the Rifle on his back as he untethered his grapple, shooting it onto one of the nearest buildings and gliding across to the next tower.

"Primarch, this is Zealot Tenebris. Are you receiving?"

The path from the walls in to the evacuation zone was brutally cut by the Marauder and his Honor Guard. Bodies left in their wake were more and more frequently civilians, as most with the ability to fight were engaged in failing defensive positions. The distinction meant nothing to Rahm. They all were equally pathetic, and it was their weakness that slew them. Finally, after what seemed like a blood-soaked eternity of hard charging, they reached shipping yard.

Bryn'adûl forces had engaged what defenders had been stationed, and the body count of both sides was staggering.

The chaos was beautiful.

A the engines of a small transport shuttle nearby roared to life as it rose from the ground, the people inside pulling in still more as it readied for take-off. Rahm gripped his axe with both hands, charging forward as the shuttle gained altitude.

One meter... Three... Ten...

The shuttle began to depart, almost ninety meters from the Marauder and climbing. Rahm choked all the way down on the axe, grasping it at the pommel, and spun twice quickly in place. At the end of his second rotation, he released the massive weapon. The heavy blade sliced through the air, embedding itself deep into the main thrusters of the shuttle. There was a small series of explosions and the shuttle plummeted into the ground, taking out a small contingent of drones on impact.

Glorious.

Rahm's moment of basking in his own glory was cut short by an onslaught of blaster fire. He looked to the source, an E-WEB turret, and roared in defiance. Two blades almost a meter and a half long sprung from his gauntlets as he charged the turret. It didn't take long for him to close the gap, and the poor souls that had made their valiant stand were quickly eviscerated by cold blades half as long as their own bodies.

Truly, none could stand against the might of the Bryn'adûl.

Ever since the young Knight had met Lanik, he could feel his wound. He could feel that potentially buried under a misguided exile. But now, even in times of great darkness there were beacons of hope. Lanik's reprisal, his wound seemingly healed was one such moment. It reaffirmed what it meant for Weyland to be a Jedi, it was to make those moments happen. It didn't matter if he wasn't at the epicentre of it all. Adventure, excitement. A Jedi craves not these things.

Weyland leapt into a mid-air somersault, dodging one of the Savage beasts as it leapt for him. They were huge, malformed inventions. He could feel it through the force that the creatures were not natural. It was unnerving, even as the Knight darted to make his way to the fellow Jedi. Now fighting on the back-foot they made their way slowly toward the archway the civilians had been moving toward, they stood amidst an arch-way. That was when he heard it, a loud crackling series of explosions as he turned his head instinctively. In his heart, he knew what'd happened.

"The AA Turrets are gone they..." His words cut short once again as a Civilian Transport tried to make it off the continent, and was quickly silenced by what felt like flying serpents. Two, massive creatures the enemy likely used as ships, appeared in the sky. He could feel the sky darkening, the sun was setting. This was the last light any of these people would see.

As brave as they fought, as long as any of those Soldiers still in the city kept fighting - it wouldn't matter. He could feel in his gut they'd both be dead if they were still on Formos by sundown. The Civilian Shuttle was shot down, and all Weyland could feel was the fear of the children on board. Weyland channelled that energy, using the force to locate the weak points of the arch-way structure and with great effort forced those parts to give, causing the metal arch to give, and crushing some dozen Savage Creatures.

Barely standing, the panting Knight was glad he had no way to cry. He stomached his guilt, turning to his companion. "We need to get on one of those shuttles or we're not making it off this rock. Lanik, we- I can't save these people."

Drek'ma received the Communication from the lone survivor of his Zealot Squad. The Primarch raised his gauntlet once again, speaking; "I hear you, Zealot. I'm enroute to the Shipyard. I can feel you, you're close to me. Head north, I will be waiting here for you."

The Primarch lowered his Gauntlet, settling down on a piece of rubble; hand firmly on his Staff. The Primarch exhaled, fiendishly grinning at the site of many craters. At the same time, he had perhaps overplayed his hand. This was Marauder Rahm's campaign. However, the Marauder seemed to be invariably occupied with nothing. However, regardless that did not delay the Bryn'adûl's progress. They culled through this final city with ease and now, with their final defences destroyed - that would escalate tenfold.

Overhead, the sky grew dark as two Conquester ships dropped into the atmosphere; a singular shot from one obliterating the first Shuttle attempting to escape. No doubt, the destruction of their remaining air defences would quicken their flight. So many would be left behind. Enough for the Primarch to entertain a ritual perhaps, he would not know. For now, he would wait for the Zealot. Then, it was on to the Shipyards and Jedi.

The soft plopping of his feet going through the sewers would soon meet its end. The loud CLANKING noise would be heard up front as two human guards would move in front with blaster rifles, though would quickly relax once seeing who it was. Motioning them, they would start to run towards the nearby shuttle craft as it was massive, a modified shuttle that was built for speed in mind. One of the nearby human guards would pat the Sullustan on the back as there was a bit of conversation till an explosion of an AA Gun nearby would be heard, the soldier swearing loudly.

"Kriff, that was the last one. We can't leave withou-"

"I will hold them off, go."

There was a brief silence between the two as he pulled up his comnlink, the soldier relaying the message as they started to storm aboard, leaving the Sullustan behind as the ramp would slowly close. The shuttle would power up and start to lift off, arcing its nose upward until some creature, like a giant worm would grip onto it with a loud screech. The Sullustan tried to use the Force quickly but it was to late, it would close its maw quickly and with it, a loud SNAP noise would echo through the small palace hanger as it broke the large piece of shuttlecraft in two, destroying everyone he had sought to help during this. There was silence before the worm creature would screech again, turning as what appeared to be acid dripped down its maw, rearings its ugly head towards the Sullustan.

Staring down the creature, he felt like a very small meal to the creature but he felt it in his body, he felt it in his soul. Gripping onto the old regal lightsaber of his, he would flick it to the left side of him and activate with a HISSING noise as an emerald green blade would extend out as the two would stare down. There was an odd silence before the Sullustan screamed out in the Force, almost making it echo towards the creature to stun it as he rushed towards to fight.

"You have destroyed their hope, so I will AVENGE THEM!"

"At once, Primarch." The Zealot responded, he was a dutiful Warrior but that did not come from a sense of comradery or loyalty to the Shaman Primarch; but rather of self-interest. Gredak knew if he served well under the Primarch he would prosper more than he ever had under his blood-kin in the Zealots. He'd hoped to become an Honour Guard or Elite under the Primarch. Not many were offered a chance to rise in their ranks in such a manner, and the snivelling Zealot wasn't going to miss out.

Moving across the broken City-Scape, the Zealot slowly chipped away at the defences of the remaining Soldiers. Their forces were entirely scattered, broken by the offensive lead by Marauder Rahm. They'd taken to hiding in crumbling ruins, in pot-holes and crates filled with their own dead. It was pathetic, the battle was over. Now all that remained was the jobs of the Savage Drones and Sirracus to flood into the City and find them where they hid.

It took some searching, but eventually the Zealot came upon the Primarch - leaping down from the wreckage to where the powerful Shaman now sat. The Zealot slammed his fist into his chest, bowing his head as he approached.

"Primarch, my liege. The rest of your escort was killed by the fall of the Gunship. I alone, survived." The Zealot would do all he could to appeal to the Primarch.

Standing amidst the archway the two Jedi were akin to a fortress, wave after wave of the drones came and the two stood back to back, side by side, their movements in sync. Bodies of the drones began to pile up at their feet. The black ooze that was the creature’s blood pooled beneath the Jedi’s feet and yet they still continued on. Lanik’s muscles burned from the exertion, he could feel his arms and legs tiring. Even with the restorative powers of the force there was still only so much that the two could do.

Completing a defensive flourish Lanik could feel a surge of force energy its direction right above his and Weyland’s head. With a backstep, the Jedi narrowly dodged the collapsing archway. Chunks of duracrete and rebar came down upon the vile creations. Their shrieks muffled by the debris that now buried so many of them.

Breath heavy Lanik could feel the death. The final screams as the shuttle above detonated turning itself into a miniature star. The remains of the shuttle falling back to the surface. The final moments of those aboard made Lanik look to the ground. A Jedi knew when to let go, knew that when one passed that they’d move on to a better place, return to the force. Yet it made it no less easy to stomach.

“There’s only so much we can do Weyland, you’re no use to anyone if you end up dead here.” Grabbing the knight and offering his shoulder Lanik pushed forward towards the shuttles. The last few were beginning boarding. More women and children being shepherded onto one, another full of soldiers. Wanting to offer the best chance of survival to the women and children Lanik moved the two over to it and inside.

Looking out the viewports Lanik could see as more of the shuttles were filled and tried to take off. Yet another one detonated before it had managed to escape the planet’s atmosphere. “There will be other fights Weyland, this is just the beginning.”

"I know." He replied in confirmation of the Zealots report, nothing went without notice. However the Primarch was surprised by the Zealots survival and intuition to contact him, he'd believed they had all perished.

His eyes were averted from the Zealot, not wishing to linger on the thought of his mistake as he turned to see more Shuttles departing. He tapped his staff on the ground, teleporting himself and the Zealot to where the Drone Commanders had lead their forces. Ahead, was a large archway that had been brought down - not by any destructive force but seemingly dismantled. The Primarch sighed, no doubt the work of those whom he had sensed previously. There was no doubt in the Shaman Primarch's mind - they would thwart the will of the Chieftain once again.

The Primarch allow the cosmic energy to swell within him, eyes closed as he locked on to the presence of the other force sensitives. He could see them, feel them. In his minds eye, he knew those faces. Just a few metres behind the Shuttles, a swirling white circle of energy forced itself to appear - the circulating currents of white tendrils cutting into the ground, scorching the earth as a swarm of Drones flanked out defensively, with the Primarch walking out from the middle with Gredak in toe. No shots were fired, but the Primarch exchanged looks with the two Jedi through the viewport.

Drek'ma dug deep, chin dipping lowly as he drew in one final breath - he focused on just one of the engines, its electrical patterns and the heat of its activation. That engine began to falter, causing the Shuttle to dip slightly as it struggled - stagnant. It was a strain enough, but the Primarch would have those Jedi.

"The engines!" The Zealot demanded, the Drones taking a moment before opening fire.
