Faction Bridge of Spies - Blackwatch

Location : Zakuul - Blackwatch Spire Outpost
Objective : Secure Blackwatch Meeting
Tags : Open to Blackwatch

The Zakuul offices of Blackwatch were located in a fairly immense large monad spire towering over much of Zakuul's expansive cityscape, among many such spacescrapers, it was by far the tallest. In the case of Morden's office, it was located near the top floor, only a couple of levels below the enormous transparisteel globe. His own office had views out the floor to ceiling transparisteel windows of much of the planet of Zakuul. By virtue of Blackwatch's operations at the top of the spire, owning the top floor meant the convenience of a landing and docking area which allowed for multiple vessels to berth.

At the very peak of the Blackwatch compound, taking up a large area of the upper spire was the former Throne Room, which served as a function room, meeting room, reception area, and anything else required. It was a fully enclosed holographic reality augmented chamber, with the room completely reconfigurable into nearly any conceivable format. Smart matter which flowed as evenly as water could produce furniture or even represent living trees. Currently the room was set out for command and control, with a large central holodisplay table located on a platform between multiple display screens and secondary holodisplays. Perfect for a high level intelligence conference.

No one but senior Blackwatch personnel were allowed access to the building's spire during the conference, and those levels were locked down. The only external entrance was secured with Psi Corps guards, all of whom were stationed outside the tower on the landing pads. Another force was deployed at surface level, far below, overwatch on the single private turbolift that could access the top of the spire. One way in for those with the right clearance, and no easy way for anyone outside to monitor the meeting.

Colonel Mordo waited in the meeting chamber at the top of the spire, standing at a raised platform at the top of a small flight of stairs. He wore a neat black military uniform with the insignia of the Psi Corps, and was accompanied by a chrome 3p0 protocol droid which lurked to one side, acting as servant to the gathering. The droid was memory wiped before and after the meeting so as to be no security threat.Glancing at the protocol droid and considering ordering it to fetch him a drink, Fordo decided to wait for the others, turning his attention to a recent report on rebel activity.

The intel there wasn't as complete as he might have liked, and that was something he'd called today's meeting to address. There were many things that needed doing, but for his mind, the main focus needed to be on cooperation and coordination. It was about using the resources they had available working toward a common goal, not at cross purposes. After all, they all served the same Empress.

She awoke with a start. Immediately her hand reached for the blaster under her pillow and looked around the room. As her eyes adjusted from sleep and she looked at every corner of the room, the small Squib relaxed. Katella took a deep breath in and slowly let it out as she hopped down onto the cold floor. The girl stared at herself in the mirror, and her yellow eyes almost seemed to glow in the dark for a moment. She reached out and touched her face on the mirror and took a few deep breaths as she pushed it back down and calmed her mind once more.

The teenage Squib quickly showered. She had to be careful, the galaxy at large LOVED its scented shampoos and products, but it just made it hard to smell, and were generally far overpowering on her fur. Once clean, the meter tall creature slinked back into the bedroom and shook herself off. One of the benefits of being part of Blackwatch, and especially the Psi Corps, was a room to herself. She ran the back of her palms across the walls, bed, floors, doors, and windows before she got dressed. Even in 'friendly' territory it was best to be cautious. This way, if someone came in, she would smell the difference next time.

Finally, the Operative-Third Class dressed in her custom Psi Corps uniform. It was specially designed to allow some particles to get to her fur, so she could smell better even in the uniform. She carefully adjusted the Blackwatch and Psi Corps pendants, as well as cleaned her rank insignia. The suit was pushed down to get rid of any wrinkles. Carefully, she picked up her weapon belt, wrapped it around her waist, holstered her blaster, and placed a vibroknife in an ankle sheath. Finally, a helmet was put on her head and locked in place. Her identity should not be given out to all who saw her. Her place was in the shadows, watching, after all.

A very important meeting was being held, security had to be perfect. Tiny and diminutive, the squib still carried herself with pride as she left her barracks room. As she checked in with mission control, she saluted the Agent in charge. "Katella, Operative Third-Class reporting." She handed over her credentials, was scanned and searched. The girl marched towards the awaiting transport, after she took her mission pad. Only in the transport, surrounded by her fellows, did she read her mission data.

Escort Agents from the landing pad to the meeting room, and there stand guard. There was a slight worry about rebel insurgents breaking in to kill off senior members, and she was one of a handful selected to give their lives to buy them time to escape if it came down to it. It was an honor, honestly. Only those with the highest loyalty index would be chosen. It caused her to smirk under her helmet. A place to belong huh?

After she disembarked at the landing pad, she began to escort the attendees up the spire. They always had one guard with them, and at least two Psi Corps agents remained at the top to protect those already in attendance. Only four had been chosen for this honor, it meant they went in groups of people. One went up, the other down, two remained. Finally, the attendees were in place.

The teenager moved into the office and perfectly saluted the Special Agent. To be fair, her eyes did linger for a bit longer than they should have. He was a perfectly sculpted human, and even for a little fuzz ball he was a sight for sore eyes. Oh, how she would love to rub the back of her palms on that man's cheek. "Colonel. Katella, Operative-Third Class, reporting for guard duty." Her voice was small, sweet, but firm and convicted. She would await an acknowledgement, and once received, she would move into position near the door, hands placed behind her back. If she never received acknowledgement, the tiny one-meter Squib would simply remain in a salute: For days if need, be.

Nyrasa lifted her head a knock came from her door. "Come in." As she spoke, a man came in, dressed in the Blackwatch uniform with the Psi Corps pendant. It wasn't one of her agents, she knew that much. Possibly a new recruit? Or a transfer. She squinted at the mans rank insignia, granted she hadn't slept for over a day, but normally it shouldn't have been a problem. Her job required her to have plenty of sleepless days. This time had spent much of that pouring over rebel reports, occasionally leaving her office for a meal.

"What is it, Agent?" She broke the silence as the Agent admired the view from her officer. "Oh wha--- oh sorry, ma'am. Here are some of the files you wanted." He quickly moved to fill the gab between them, placing the files and a data pad on her desk. The man couldn't have been older than 30, 28 maybe? As he moved closer she noticed his rank insignia, Superior Analyst.

"The rest will be her shortly."

"Good work, I trust you can see yourself out?" He nodded and then with one last glance towards the window, he left the office.

Her office was located, like all others, on the immense spire, towering over nearby skyscrapers. She was granted an office near the top floor, which again, provided a great view of the surroundings. She rarely left Zakuul when she wasn't on assignment, or the rare moments when she would visit the Black Citadel of the Emrick Dynasty.

She stood up from her chair in her military uniform, grabbing her Psi Corps pendant and attaching it to her uniform. She was due for a meeting within the next 30 minutes, and she couldn't look afford unprofessional. She spared a look at the files, they were on a new form of plant life discovered by scientists, the hopes was to use its medical properties for a new generation of medicine. This was a large source of interest for Nyrasa, she was a scientist after all. But for now she would have to leave it be. Before leaving though, she pushed a button on her desk, and made her request. "MEIPOC, get me all available files on rebel activity, possible suspects, and so on in Eternal Empire space."

"Processing order, Colonel Vrinas. Order confirmed, files will be in your office within the hour." With a satisfied grin, she left her office.

dRUm20K.png

Nyrasa adjusted the insignia on her uniform as the turbo lift door opened, she entered the meeting room, spotting Colonel Mordo at the top of the small stair case. She nodded at him in acknowledgment and took her place, now she would wait.

The diminutive sniper-assassin arrived on Zakuul fresh from Kalidan, her very first session as a Baroness in the Imperial Assembly, her reward for long service with the Empire. And yet, it was also an elevation of responsibilities, beyond missions, briefings, and other activities with Blackwatch, now she was an aristocrat, with a planet under her authority. To say the least, her appointment had been mildly controversial. A foreign commoner who had once lived in a slum had effectively usurped Anthan Prime’s wealthy families, putting merit over ancient heritage, blood, or birth.

For her part, Ivixa could not blame those who had protested against her appointment. She had never once stepped foot on Anthan Prime before last week, while under extremely heavy guard. Without question, she was an alien, an off-worlder with no connection to the planet or even friends who hailed from the world.

Nevertheless, Ivixa did not intend to suffer any who might rebel against her authority.

She had spent much of her career killing rebels and various other malcontents. Now, she wondered how it would feel to have someone else do the killing on her behalf.

Ascending the lift up the spire, escorted by the diminutive Katella Katella , who was a curiosity if only for the fact that she was the only Agent in the area that was smaller than her, Ivixa pushed her thoughts of Anthan Prime aside. Once more, the work of dealing with rebel activity in the greater Empire beckoned, and she intended to see it complete, as she had done many times before in various operations within and without the Empire. Once the lift came to a halt, Ivixa stepped inside the meeting chamber, taking in the skyline as she did. Acknowledging the Squib’s salute, Ivixa nodded to the Operative then remained quiet, waiting patiently for the meeting to begin.

Colonel Mordo turned away from the report on rebel activity as the Blackwatch personnel began to arrive, giving them his full attention. He walked across and returned the perfect salute smartly, before smiling warmly at the attendees.

"Welcome, friends, please make yourselves comfortable. I am Colonel Mordo, and though we may not have met before, I know we will learn to work closely together. To that end, while the meeting is in session, there is no rank, no greater or lesser authority within this chamber. Each and every one of you takes part in critical work for the Eternal Empire as you are part of Blackwatch, and thus in my eyes, every voice is equally important and valuable when we are planning together."

He meant every word, for he truly believed that the most important concept in intelligence work had to be cooperation. The various levels and branches of the Blackwatch had to be in lock step coordination to best serve the Empress, and so Fordo intended to make smooth lines of communication to increase and enhance cooperation within the organization. As he spoke, he moved to a comfortable leather chair that rose out of the floor, and sat down. The room could and would provide desired seating as each of the attendees preferred.

"The Empire faces rebel enemies within her borders, while a constantly shifting delicate balance of alliances of convenience between major galactic powers puts the Eternal Empire on the brink of war on multiple fronts with very little notice. We in the Blackwatch need to ensure we are prepared for any eventual outcome, we must be vigilant, and proactive."

Stating the very obvious, perhaps, but it was important that he focus the attendees on the task the Blackwatch faced in a difficult to understand and very dangerous galaxy.

It was not the most common approach, nor was it favoured by the higher-ups in the Blackwatch, but they could choke on their pride and jurisdiction. They used the military and brokered information, so it would only be appropriate to do the same. The military was barred from the military intelligence, a slight contradiction, but his rank as Lord Commander of the Wardens opened him doors which his Field Marshals insignia would not. To highlight his origin, he was dressed in his field marshals uniform and even carrying the ridiculous baton of his rank.

Yet he was not hostile. Belisarius simply wanted to highlight that the differences and internal disputes were nonsense. Strength in unity. The Eternal Empire was quite cohesive, but still were its different divisions aimed to check and balance, which was understandable, to a degree, but for him the military success was directly tied to the available intelligence he could his hands on.

The Midvinter-born held a good relation to the Blackwatch, generally speaking, he was here to offer military ressources in the endeavours they would explore worthy. Striking down rebels was always a welcome sight, knowing the back secured and he would not hesitate to commit reserves to support their cause.

But he was after a personal agenda as well. He always had friends and allies in the military intelligence, close relations with passing on informtion and exchanging intel as well as planning. It was de jure illegal, de facto it was speeding up processes and helping the Empire. One of Belisarius closer allies was killed a few weeks ago during an operation in former confederate space and today he seeked to possibly find a new acquaintance.

The tall warrior entered the moment Fordo Mordo Fordo Mordo started his introduction. With a quick glance at the collection of individuals, Bel moved to one of the back rows, remaining standing with folded hands on his straight back.

Rannux stood at the edge of the meeting room, he wasn't new when it came to meetings, after all he wasn't close to a promotion for doing nothing. The topic for this meeting was of special interest to Rannux considering his... background. He chose not to mention that detail, after all it was a wonder an ex-terrorist made senior officer. Of course he had no recollection of his terrorist life, he still couldn't decide if his amnesia was a gift or a burden.

While he was waiting for the meeting to begin, he checked over the guards. He had been assigned to help coordinate with the guards, a good opportunity to prove himself in command. The Zakuul Spire was an interesting location, he took ever chance he could get to come here. There was something so captivating about being near the stars almost as if he could reach out and touch them... back to work.

He zoned back to the meeting as the door to the room suddenly opened and entered a... military officer? No, not any military officer, a Field Marshal? What was he doing in this meeting, this was a Blackwatch meeting after all. Rannux was still deciding how he felt about it when Colonel Mordo begun his introduction.

The teenage Squib kept to her post, ready to go into action should it be required. However, as she guarded, she also kept an ear out and listened, and her eyes open and watched. The meeting was practically a whose who of Blackwatch stars. First, Colonel Mordo himself. Handsome, strong, with a strong following within the organization. Second was Colonel Vrinas. Gorgeous, powerful, confident, kick ass. How did she keep those looks doing the things she did was far beyond Kat! Colonel Vrinas was a favorite among the lower ranks, for obvious reasons. Her eyes lingered for a moment, curious. However, she knew better than to pry. Often, information was more a curse than a blessing. Soon her eyes moved away. She also made sure to keep her mind in check, she did not reach out through the force to analyze anyone.

Next was a personal hero for Kat, Special Agent Nera'kas. Katella had heard rumors and stories of her but never met her in person before. Small, pretty, and supposedly designed in a way that made the menfolk gossip. And gossip they did. However, what had impressed Katella was her kill count, and accuracy ratings. Not only pretty, but one of the top snipers in the Empire. It wouldn't be a lie to say the small woman was one of people the Squib looked up to as she moved forward with her own career.

Then entered Ranaux Sevesu, one of the rising stars of the Blackwatch. His skills where the thing legends were made of. The low-level grunts like her, whispered and gossiped about his missions in the barracks. While not as high a level as the others, it was only a matter of time till he got there. It was difficult to process the fact she was in the same room as these legends, let alone one of the ones chosen to guard them, and was probably the only guard allowed to actually be in the room. No, it was a great honor. Proof of her loyalty, and work.

Finally, someone she was not expecting, Field Marshal Vactovion entered the room. To be fair, the difference in rank was so great, that even though they were part of separate branches, there was nothing Kat could, or would do, unless the entire assembly began to turn on the man. Even if that were to happen, if a fight broke out her chance of survival was the same chance of her winning: zero. The teen let out a soft breath and continued to stand straight in all her diminutiveness. As the Colonels began to talk about rebels, she listened but kept quiet.

Nyrasa tensed up as the Field Marshal entered the room. It was safe to say she was uncomfortable with his arrival, and she doubted she was the only one. The Military had no need prying into Blackwatch affairs, now she needed to find out if he was prying, or simply here to offer assistance. She was reluctant to do this, especially with Psi Corps officers nearby, but she needed a better read on the room.

She opened up to the force, not the light though, the dark. Opening the up to the room, she felt the thoughts of individuals, particularly the Squib standing nearby, she suppressed the force, realising her force abilities. While there was no need to hide the fact she was able to use the force, she was a member of the Psi Corps after all, but if she revealed too much it could expose her. She wasn't known as a strong force user, she had to hide the Sith part of her.

She noticed the Squib seemed interested in the members of the meeting, hints of excitement as she analysed everyone. She had read the girls file, Katella was it? The girl glanced at Nyrasa, a curious glance, and Nyrasa stared curiously at her in return. She turned her attention to other locations where thoughts were particularly loud, she ignored the Field Marshal now, she would get to him later. No, instead she focused on the absence of thoughts, coming from a man standing next to her. Staff Agent Rannux Sevesu, ex-terrorist, supposedly an amnesiac.

She had been one of the agents responsible for interrogating him when he was first caught, his mind was flooding with different streams of thoughts at the time, but now he was just... empty? She pushed harder and harder, trying to get past the barrier, but there was nothing, only stars. Realising how reckless she had been with her abilities, she suppressed it as the Blackwatch star glanced at her with a confused look.

Paying attention to Colonel Mordo, she listened to him finish. She had a few ideas to propose as to fix a lot of the problems they were facing, but she was hesitant to speak in front of a "military official."

If an assassin were to strike the spire at this moment, perhaps with an explosive or even a single thermal detonator set in the right place, the Eternal Empire’s intelligence apparatus would be crippled for years to come. The loss of institutional knowledge and leadership would be immense, perhaps to the point that the Empire itself might never recover. That potentiality was why Ivixa’s golden eyes went wide upon seeing the massive figure of Belisarius Vactovion enter the room, a Field Marshal who in her mind had no business intruding on such a confidential meeting. Questions would have to be asked later, about why and how the gene-enhanced officer had gotten access to a supposedly classified conference. While he was of high rank, she still viewed his presence as a risk. Perhaps it was arrogance on her part, but she believed there was a good reason that Blackwatch had precedence over the other branches of the military. They were the most loyal, dedicated, ruthless, and skilled of the Empire’s servants. Blackwatch was rarely a two-year enlistment or a quiet, backline position for the wealthy sons and daughters of aristocrats seeking to earn their citizenship without risk to their person. It was a career, a way of life that demanded sacrifice, willpower and deception, even to those one loved.

Could this Field Marshal meet that standard?

Ivixa hated the fact that she could not unearth the answer to that question.

Regardless, setting her attention back to the meeting, the diminutive sniper-assassin listened intently as Special Agent Mordo spoke. There were many topics to discuss pertaining to the security of the Empire and Ivixa was not keen to leave them unresolved. And so, clearing her throat, the short-statured Special Agent stepped up to the raised platform and opened her mouth to speak.

<“Thank you, Special Agent Mordo.”> She began, giving the man a polite nod appropriate for a peer. <"Pertaining to the potential enemies and malicious actors within our borders, we must discuss the Eclipse Rebellion and the small, but not-unlikely possibility that they could return to prominence, even after the Bombing of Bormter. In the wake of those attacks on innocent civilians, the rebel movement as a whole has seen an unprecedented decline in all measurable metrics. While the links between the cell that perpetrated the attacks, Shadow Flame, and the Eclipse Rebellion are still vague, we are confident that the networks between these terrorist groups remain intact. We need only to elucidate them for all to see. That said, there are mounting concerns that the Rebel Alliance, an anti-Imperialist network which has seen moderate success as of late, could inspire a resurgence of the Eclipse Rebellion in our territories. While rebel movements remain unpopular, we should continue to be proactive in filtering out any hostile messaging from this organization and by extension, the Galactic Alliance.”> The Special Agent finished.

The room, though large and spacious, felt full with all the combined presence of so much of the Eternal Empire's assets located in a single room. What a target such a meeting might make for Rebels or other enemies of the Empire! Attuned to the emotions of the others present, Fordo noticed a tremor, slight, barely noticeable, of tension as the Field Marshal entered, from Ivixa, and from Nyrasa, or so he thought.

It was difficult to be certain without actively scanning either of them, something he would not do to anyone loyal to the Empire without due reason, let alone fellow Blackwatch. He did lean toward Ivixa as she finished speaking, standing just at her shoulder. "He is here at my invitation." As he spoke, he caught Nyrasa's eyes, and enunciated his words carefully so that she could read his lips when he spoke into Ivixa's ear.

The news might not clear all of the tension, but he felt it important that his fellow Blackwatch understood that the representative of the military had been brought into this meeting for a good reason. He expected that they would trust his judgement on the matter, at least until the meeting was over. The Field Marshal's cooperation would make the anti-Rebel operation that Fordo had in mind go far more smoothly.

He had a briefing prepared, but was content to let any other urgent business clear the floor before he presented the details. There was much to discuss, and he had to allow for the very real possibility that others brought more urgent business than his plot to draw out the Rebellion, into the open, where they could be destroyed. A plot that involved the very building in which this meeting was taking place.

Katella noticed the female Colonel as she stared back. It made her almost blush, until she realized she had her helmet on. No way it was a forbidden passion stare from a superior then. Besides, if one was going to do so, she would rather Colonel Mordo. He was dreamy as kark. That didn't mean Colonel Vrinas wasn't gorgeous and all, but when in a room with Colonel Mordo? It just wasn't fair. Wait, she felt like her mind got really sidetracked there. She also felt the tug of the force as the woman reached out. The Sith could feel curiosity in abundance from the little one. However, the moment the force touched her, the guard's mental barriers went up, and it would take more effort to get anything useful out of it. So, the pretty Colonel with the gold eyes could use the Force. It also didn't feel like a Jedi to her. It wasn't honestly her business. But it was something good to keep locked away for future use.

Her eyes locked onto Colonel Mordo's lips. Perhaps for many reasons. Who could say? While she didn't get the whole sentence he mouthed, it was obvious he wasn't fazed by the military leader's presence, as such she relaxed. At the moment, he was the boss, the one who had organized the whole thing. At least, as far as she knew. Her fluffy ears listened to Special Agent Nera'kas, and she almost found herself nodding! Right now, most of the analysis she had been part of showed an uptick in crime, especially theft. It was heavily believed that the crime was to funnel funds and supplies to a local terrorist cell. Each of the Colonel's and other Agents should have easy access to her reports on the matter. It was much bigger than the aristocracy wanted to admit.

The teen's hands were still behind her back and her mind reeled. So many thoughts and plans crossed it. But for now, the best way she could help was to keep silent, listen, and guard. Honestly, there was most likely a few spies in the military. If she had been in the rebel's position, she would attack, regardless of the casualties. With just this room destroyed, it would set back the Blackwatch by a decade.

Nyrasa glanced around the room, glancing at Fordo as he whispered into Colonel Nera'kas's ear. She read his lips well enough to understand. She also understand why Vactovion had been invited, the Blackwatch could use their resources, but she was still one edge. Sighing she stepped forward.

"As has been stated, the Eclipse Rebellion is a threat. But we all must remember that Rebellion's don't just appear, every day more and more of our citizens are turned over to their cause. We cannot simply focus on the Rebellion, we must focus on our citizens. We must display a stronger image, the war of growth is fought on our worlds, not on battlefields. I hope you all understand this, but we need to take more action. Colonel Mordo, I trust you wouldn't call us here without a plan?"
With that she stepped back and beckoned the man to speak.

This, was why she didn't like military types. They didn't understand where the true battle was fought. Though maybe this 'Vactovion' would be different. She ignored the Squib as she once again glanced around the room, she had pushed herself to hard when reading her, there was no way she caught on, she knew not to keep digging. The chances that she realised the way she used the force was not the light side were also slim, but possible.

She stole a quick glance at the Squib, but couldn't tell. Then turning her attention back to Staff Agent Sevesu, she made a mental note to get his file. Even an amnesiac shouldn't have an empty head. Then there was the Field Marshal, she examined him top to bottom, an interesting character for sure. She made sure to remind herself to get his file too. The more she learned, the better she could do her job.

Oh, she could hear him loud and clear.

Her ears twitched at the Special Agent’s words, a micro-expression of a frown coming over her features for a fraction of second, before they reverted back to a neutral mien. Nevertheless, sparing Mordo a nod in understanding, Ivixa glanced back out to the group in the room, eyes searching until Nyrasa Emrick Nyrasa Emrick spoke up, drawing the Asa’nyx’s gaze towards her.

<“Agreed, Special Agent Vrinas.”> Ivixa said. <"Positioning ourselves as a strong, reliable authority is of paramount matter. More than anything, the people of the Unknown Regions crave stability. The fall of the Confederacy has reawakened fears that we are living in an age of chaos, a period of perpetual conflict and instability. These fears could be harnessed to strengthen our Empire, but they might also be its undoing, especially if rebellious actors leverage them in their messaging.”> She finished.

<“If there is nothing more to be said on this matter, I will yield the floor.”>

Indeed, his plan had been at the forefront of his mind when calling today's meeting together, though it had not been the only reason. Improving coordination and communication between all the branches of intelligence, as well as better coordination with the other branches of the Eternal Empire was the primary goal. Mordo's plan worked towards that goal, as well as being proactive against threats to the Empress' rule. With the floor open, he spoke.

I believe the plan developed by my section will produce the desired outcomes. He said, smiling his salesman's smile. The plan would speak for itself, he hoped, but it was his task to present it well. Fordo went on.

The room lights darkened slightly, and the main holodisplay lit up with data on the project. This is Project Overseer. A genetic tracing and tracking supercomputer database based here in the Spire. When it goes online, Blackwatch will have the means and ability to track the movements of any individual within the borders of the Eternal Empire. He paused, as the holoimage data zoomed out to show a wireframe display of the Blackwatch Spire in which the meeting was taking place. Unfortunately, this project does not actually exist.

The intent of creating this false intelligence project is to turn this place, the Blackwatch Spire, already a tempting target for Rebels, into a target they cannot afford to ignore. Now, if the information came to the enemies of the Empire from within Blackwatch, it would never be believed. We know, and they know, that our security is intense and dedicated. So, I have invited the Field Marshal here, so that he can ensure that the leak of the information on Project Overseer can come to Rebel eyes and ears from within the Military, an organization too large and widespread for us to ever completely secure.

Colonel Mordo nodded at the military's representative at the meeting. They could, in theory, do this without his help, but the task would be so much the harder. Together, the Intel and Military communities could strike together at the Rebels, draw them out into the open, and put paid to their insurrection.

Rannux listened as the plan unveiled itself. He had to admit, it was a good one. The Blackwatch would never leak intelligence, but the military? They wouldn't be able to resist attacking the spire, but of course, there was a problem. "Apologies for interrupting Colonel, but how would the military even learn about this initiative. Surely a project as important as Overseer wouldn't be known to the common soldier, and even if the rebels believed it, are we sure we can defend the spire from a large attack? We all know there is the possibility of them gaining allies, we need to make sure we're prepared."

While Rannux hadn't analysed the defences of Zakuul that much, he believed in being thorough. This job wouldn't get done without being thorough after all. They needed to make this as believable as possible. This operation could amount to a huge loss to the rebellion, but if they lost the spire it would be even larger for them. He respected the Colonel's judgement though, and as a Staff Agent he shouldn't be sticking his head out, after all he didn't want to jeopardise his promotion.

He stole a glance at Colonel Vrinas, one his mentor, though a colleague. Turning his attention back to Colonel Mordo he awaited a response, hoping he wasn't stepping out of line. He was on edge due to recent issues regarding the rebels, and his promotion was getting far too close to risk on a 'guess.' But he couldn't stand by and ignore his duty to state the facts, he just hoped the others saw it that way.

As they spoke, her helmeted head tilted a bit. It was self-evident what they should do, at least from an operative's perspective. True, as people got higher up, the basic way things were run often eluded them, as they didn't have time to analyze it anymore. But she as an operative was the one tasked with coming up with the practical solutions and analyzing the data in the first place. She took a risk and spoke up.

"Forgive me for interrupting Colonels. May I be free to speak?" The girl would wait for confirmation. If they said no, she would go silent. However, if they said yes, she would speakquietly but with great confidence in her answer. "It's quite simple how they would find out. We keep a list of probable leaks in the various branches. People do it for any and all reasons. Right now, for instance there is a resurgence of loyalists to former Emperor Tacitus who want to disgrace the Empress. Well, the Spire is far too large to clean and maintain on its own. We use cadets from our Blackwatch training program to deal with the lower levels as part of their training, and droids of course. But we also use vetted enlisted military personnel."

The teen stopped and gathered her thoughts a moment before she continued. "What if we create new gangs of military personnel to begin a cleaning and maintenance job. Perhaps for an expansion. We put in people we know are most likely to leak information, and we have an undercover operative or agent in charge of each group, as a veteran of these clean up jobs. They show the personnel the job and introduce them to 'rumors'. We let the people find it on their own, by slowly leading them to a situation where the data becomes available, after a rumor spurs them on. They would have little suspicion of the validity of the data, and it would disseminate quickly after. All the while it would raise almost no red flags. It allows us to directly control the data they receive, and for a long period of time after, until we spring the trap."

The guard would then fall silent and replace her arms behind her back once again. As she went silent, her mind thought on how to do this. She thought back to her own cleanup detail. A researcher from above was having an affair with a guard on a lower level. They were open and friendly; it wasn't that difficult to get vague information from them. There was a general idea in the lower levels, that if a person was able to walk around freely that they were no danger, because of how heavily Blackwatch vetted its workers. This plan would work. They would have to be careful, but at this moment, the biggest prize for their enemies was information. That, along with the heavy scanning of people entering, would limit the capacities of these watched enemies from doing any true damage to the spire, or their operations.
